Spinners Hostel

I’ve travelled around the world and I have to say that Spinners is by far the cleanest hostel I’ve ever stayed at. The staff are so attentive and helpful. Spinners is probably the best hostel in Perth, and rather centrally located to nightlife in Northbridge as well as easy access to the CBD on the free CAT buses. I’d highly recommend staying here and it books up far in advance because it’s so popular!

The hostel is very beautiful. Clean and with all the facilities that you might need. Big kitchen, common areas inside and outside, comfortable beds, big storage for you things. Also very friendly staff!
Only down side is that people stayed within their nationality group (French on one side, Italian on the other, German on the other, ecc) at least when I’ve been there.

If you choose to stay there, be careful if you go out the back door (left side) on the ground floor (past the private rooms and storage space) where the clothes lines are located, behind a fence (open gaps along the top) with a gate at one end (to the right of the door), and ceiling above.
— Because the door locks from the inside.
When I found myself once locked out there one night. Despite calling out and banging on the door, there was no response. Even, the manager, who was in their own room (which has a window with curtains adjacent on on side), I overheard laughing when he heard me, while he was in there, and just responded by closing the curtains. He didn't come to open the door.
So, despite the 'Staff Only' or such sticker on the inside of the gate at the right end of that clothes lines area. If you open the gate, there is no alarm. And walk around the side of the property, back to the front, and use your wireless transponder/dongle to open the locked front doors beside the street entrance.
Also, the staff are strict about finishing using the kitchen by 10 PM.
Also, during least one night during my stay, there were English backpackers/guys booked in the private room beside my room, who were noisy at 3 AM in the morning.
The staff occasionally played loud music in the kitchen and open area.

I love this and the sister hostel so much that I think you should build a 3rd one. I wanna book this place for my next rnr and it’s already sold out on the dates I need and it’s not even summer 😭😭😭 neither I started my next swing.
Suggestions for improvement:
— Curtains for the beds – they would make the room look tidier, since we wouldn’t need to use sheets and towels as makeshift curtains. We would still be able to socialise either way.
— Presence lights.
— Extra hangers in the showers – at the moment each shower has only one hanger, but ideally there should be at least two (one for clean clothes and another for used clothes + towel).
— Hangers in the room – to allow us to hang wet towels.

I was at hostel for two nights and came back with my best friend. She checked in for additional two nights. Have never been to such clean hostel. The stuff was always helpful and kind and the kitchen/ main area and the bathrooms and showers were cleaned every time I went there. It’s always clean. Loved it there! Worth every penny. Thank you guys!

Absolutely the Best Hostel I’ve Stayed at in a Year of Traveling!
I had my best hostel experience in Perth at this place! Everything is super clean – the staff clean regularly, and it really shows. The team is also incredibly friendly and always happy to help, which made the whole vibe even better.
The kitchen is spacious and well-equipped, with plenty of room in the fridge and freezer. It’s easy to cook your own meals without feeling cramped. The rooms are really nicely designed – no curtains on the beds, but the rooms are dark enough that it doesn’t matter at all. I actually preferred it that way.
There’s also a lovely outdoor area where you can sit, relax, and chat with other travelers – perfect for winding down or enjoying the sunshine.
After traveling for over a year and staying in countless hostels, this one stands out as the absolute best. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a clean, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay in Perth!

I had a wonderful stay at this hostel. It offers excellent value for money, and is conveniently located just a 10–15 minute walk from the CBD. I stayed for two weeks, and, as it was my first hostel experience, I was initially a bit apprehensive. However, those concerns quickly disappeared. The property was exceptionally clean, and the staff were incredibly welcoming. A special thank you to Eve, who checked me in, and made sure I had everything I needed.
The kitchen facilities were outstanding. There was a full, industrial-sized kitchen, with two large ovens, and plenty of food preparation space. The common areas, both indoors and outdoors, were also excellent—comfortable, spacious, and perfect for relaxing or socialising.
The overall atmosphere was friendly, and fellow guests were respectful and quiet. The only downside was the limited number of bathrooms—just two toilets, and three showers—which could be a little inconvenient in the mornings. That said, I understand renovations are currently underway, so I hope to see improvements in that area soon.
Overall, a fantastic experience. I would gladly stay here again.

I stayed a week at Spinners & it was my best experience in Perth. Great location, cleanliness, lovely staff and I would recommend 100% for anyone solo-travelling to Perth to stay at this place and make great friends!

Definitely one of the best, if not the best hostels I have ever stayed at, on different occasions. Spotless kitchen and bathroom, comfy beds, spacious lockers. Everything you need. And the price is very reasonable, compared to some other hostels offering less quality and comfort for the same price.
The staff is nice and helpful, and the overall atmosphere of the hostel is very cosy. I recommend!

I was really looking forward to go to this hostel as the rating was so good and to be honest, I was very disappointed. The showers have a problem, only extremely hot water is coming out (I almost burnt myself) so you can't really take a shower and the rooms are very small, no curtains on the beds, no private lights. No filtered water at disposal for customers. I've been traveling in Australia for two months and most of the hostels were more qualitative than this one. I usually don't write bad reviews but was very disappointed. Location is good though.

Had a short stay at this hostel and I love how organised everything is. The rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, food storage, and the living rooms. The staff at the reception are friendly and very helpful, the guy even helped to carry my luggage to the first floor (thank you! ). The room has a decent size, every bed comes with a storage area and locker on the sides, and it's own set of power plugs. The female room and bathrooms are clean, well taken care of, and there's also complimentary body wash in the showers and hair dryer. The kitchen has all the essentials, great for preparing meals, and even has a coffeemaker. There's plenty of space to sit and chill, everyone is so respectful. The Wi-Fi works well and the location is also good; easy to navigate if you're using the bus, it's only just one ride away from Perth station/airport line. For Muslims, the hostel is also about 300m from the mosque for a quick visit or prayers.

They should teach some manners to European youngesters. Very loud and rude. The hostel should have more restricted rules.

There is nothing I don't like able this hostel. It's probably the best hostel I have ever stayed in and certainly the best in perth.
I can't fault it. It's clean, homely, just perfection. A big thank you to Cam and the team for being the dream.

Spinners is a really nice hostel. Located in quiet area but only 10-15 minutes walk from the centre of Perth. Very friendly staff and nice chilled vibes. We felt very welcome, despite being quiet a lot older than most people staying there. Nice big, well equipped kitchen and the place was immaculately clean. The staff were constantly hoovering and mopping. Definitely recommend.

Best Hostel in Perth. Stayed from May 2022 to Aug 2024. Great beds, common space, clean toilets&showers and kitchen. Cleaned and maintained properly. Sole stop in Perth.
It is 10 mins walk from main entertainment street in Perth. Close enough for partying; far enough for peace and good sleeps.

One of the best, if not the best, hostels in Perth. It's very clean and neat, with a cozy living room and numerous areas designed for socializing and making friends. A great place to have a good time.

Friendly staff, nice roommates,
Everything was clean.
There were lockers and two charging stations for each bed.
I would devently recomend to other peoples.
