Review of Ocean Centre Hotel 4*

What a view, if you liked cars in the hotel car park and then you had to peer through windows that hadn't been cleaned in a while. The room was cleaned, well you think they had been as the smell of bleach when you entered the room was overwhelming. The glass which had a cider in hadn't been been washed as you could still see the residue round the glass. Not only had they not topped up the bathroom with amenities they had forgotten to give us any towels and we had to go and ask for them. Went down for breakfast with my husband and ordered our breakfast he had avo smash and I ordered a fruit platter with yoghurt. We were given cups to make our own hot drinks ok. We sat down and waited and waited and final my husbands avo smashed came out he waited but I said eat it else it would go cold. He ate his breakfast and had two cups of tea and still no sign of my fruit platter! So enough of the waiting I wanted breakfast with my husband not on my own. So we went to the counter and after waiting for two other people to be served we cancelled my fruit platter as it was still nowhere to be seen. Once we cancelled the waitress came out with 4 fruit platters for different tables and said one was ours. To cut my comment short I said it was too late! The staff were friendly enough but obviously expected to run too many sections. The receptionists at night was not only expected to run reception but the bar as well, hence when you went to the bar you had to ring a bell and wait and vice versa. In the morning the lady who took breakfast orders again was expected to run the reception too. For a 4 star hotel this is appalling and not a very enjoyable stay.
