Mariner Motel

The smell of the room was disgusting, even if you're not sick you will get sick from it. It was unbearable, but everywhere was booked out otherwise I would have left. Can't say the room was that clean as found opened shampoo bottles under the bed. I'd say look elsewhere unless you don't mind an over powering stench! No Wi-Fi or anything overall disappointing, def not worth the money.

The location was great we stayed for one night would come back here in a heart beat the staff were very friendly we used the BBQ facilities there for dinner the guy came over to see if everything ok and bring cleaning clothes but as we use baking paper he came back with a brand new BBQ cooking mat.
Bathroom was really great and clean room and bed fantastic.
Very busy motel would recommend motel to everyone.

Stayed here when travelling for the Running Festival and noted it was one of the cleanest motels I’ve ever stayed in. Staff were friendly and helpful. Location was very convenient.

BEWARE! Read all the reviews. Especially regarding charging in advance before you arrive and a 24h cancellation fee. I could write more. I hope you don't get ripped off as well. Rooms not cleaned in 4 days, beds not made, bins not emptied.
No spare toilet rolls. Very belligerent staff at front desk. Have changed owners since last year. We wanted to book an extra night, then our plans changed, and we were charged anyway saying "24hour cancellation fee"!

They offer parking for trailer, only if you take it off your car. Location is better down the other end of town near MACs Hotel.
I had another motel booked but they weren't sure the room would be ready as they had a plumbing issue with it, so l booked this motel just in case. I called in to reception to explain situation and later let them know the other motel was okay so l wouldn't need the room. SHE CHARGED ME FULL PRICE saying READ THE POLICY!
If you cancell on the day you pay!
Unbelievable but true, but the other motel was much better anyway. And she must need the money more than me!

This place has changed owners or management since our last stay.
This place is not the same any more, the room was reasonable but not the one we requested and got the OK for when we booked, staff just said same same. Basically you get what your given.
Rooms aren't serviced even when you place your request out on door handle.
They said they did not see it, no offer of doing it at all.
We stayed there for 3 nights, same towels and were making our own beds.
What are they they're for, they should note that room service is not guaranteed.
There are better places to stay in Portland, definitely won't be returning or recommending.
It's definitely overpriced.
It has definitely taken a dive with new owners/management.

This is a small roadside motel that has been nicely renovated. The owner/operators are friendly and helpful. There are several restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom was huge and modern. The bed was comfortable. This is about half way along the ocean road route from Melbourne to Adelaide which is why we stayed here.

A lovely motel. The room was clean and well equipped. When we checked in we were met with a warm and friendly welcome. It was also good value for an overnight stay and a good way point between Adelaide and Melbourne. Would definitely recommend this motel.

Beautiful clean "new" room! Not sure when last renovations were done, but it felt like we were the first to use such a new room. Excellent! Spacious and clean and bright. Congratulations to the owners on keeping everything so well.

Large, comfortable rooms with an ensuite big bathroom. Great motel and appears to have been freshly rebuilt. The bed is comfy with high-quality bed warmer. The room has been thoroughly cleaned, and has no unpleasant odours. Netflix and the internet are available for free. Good location and easy to find. Beautiful BBQ garden. Low-noise split-system air conditioner. Reasonable price.
😡Downside: they provided simply towels and a bottle of hand wash, without shampoo, body wash, or other items. Fortunately, we had our own toiletries. There is no ventilation in the bathroom. As a result, the unpleasant odour persists. The management, perhaps the owner, was grumpy. Even when we returned the room key, he took it from my fingers like a hawk and said nothing kind, not even a thank you.

Excellent hotel for $116 per night but, the one thing thats been bothering me is the ants crawling on the wall almost everywhere. I very much recommend to spray the walls and roofs with ants poison next time for 5 starts but for now I'm rating it a 3.5.

We were thrilled with our stay at the Mariner Hotel in Portland. From the moment we made our reservation, the experience was smooth and welcoming. We received a friendly welcome email, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and promptly given our room key. While the exterior of the hotel resembled many standard motels we've visited, we were pleasantly surprised by the interior. The room featured new or recently updated floor coverings, a highly efficient reverse cycle heater, and a very functional bathroom. My wife was particularly impressed by how spotless the room was. We enjoyed a restful night’s sleep and appreciated the convenience of the in-room coffee and tea before heading out early the next morning. Thank you for a delightful stay!

No complaints. Clean, tidy, simple — everything you need. And it was so nice for a change that the room was dark at night for sleeping, so many motels have bright lights from outside shining in, so that was great. Friendly staff.

For a $100 room I couldn't complain at all! It looked perfectly clean and tidy! (Closer inspection with a blacklight found a few small issues but nothing that would ruin a stay) definitely recommend this place!

Check-in was friendly, room was well refurbished, clean, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom was excellent — a good size, plenty of bench space, and a wonderful shower. Excellent value for money. The sort of accommodation you wish you could find more often. Highly recommended.

The Mariner Motel, Portland, is a great place to stay, with very friendly management, and only a minute's drive into this lovely town's CBD.
Our queen room felt brand new. It was impeccably clean, modern, very comfortable (especially the bed), and had all the appliances, amenities and conveniences that you would expect from such a high quality establishment.
Great value.
