The Eastern Hotel Accommodation

Unprofessional administration. They accept a booking and payment for a room after 1800 hrs then you find that you can’t check in after 1800 hrs. A con. How ridiculous. You could fit in a round of golf between last check in and darkness falling.
This is deceptive and simply archaic.
How about a key safe, not expensive. Still can be managed remotely as most other places do.
Considering legal action for deceptive conduct.

Lovely little rooms, so much nicer than what you would expect for the budget price tag… I EVEN HAD ELECTRIC BLANKETS!

Great place I stayed like a month ago had a great time nice place and very convienent close to transport.

Owners of this place are fantastic! The rooms were nice and clean and the shared bathrooms were good for a pub stay. Bar serves some nice drinks and we even enjoyed some live music on Friday night.

The rooms are fine, but the facilities are not okay. 3 out of four of the showers have gaps in the doors so other guests could look in if they wanted to. The fourth shower has a glass window that blurs what you see. Would not recommend to solo female travellers.

Very central to the CBD, this newly renovated hotel boasts a modern pub that holds the charm and grace of its traditional decor, a delightful beer garden and even a stage for hosting live bands.

My type of place, good vibe, affordable accommodation. Beer a little pricey, happy hour would be good. Looking forward to the live music.
My review & rating based on solo travelling single artist. So maybe not everyone’s cup of tea.
Beer garden is also a bonus.

The Eastern has the feel that historic hotels excel at providing. It is a newly re-opened venture but retains all the charm of bygone years. Friendly staff and friendly patrons give the hotel an authenticity that can't be faked. Opens fires on a cool Ballarat Spring day added to the warmth that was obvious from the moment of entry. Old buildings like this offer so much more than a facade — they are part of our history and are at their best when showcasing what they were designed for. May the new management have a long and successful attachment to the Eastern Hotel.

Its a bit old and outdated vibe but it will get you through the night even though it is a historical building the heating worked fine and there where electric bedding. Showers and bathrooms are clean and good.

The room was extremely clean and comfortable, I stayed during the week so no live music, bathrooms and shared kitchen were extremely clean, I would recommend this hotel to anyone passing through Ballarat.

Booked last minute, super helpful staff. Cheap room does the job for a student at tafe like me. Shared kitchen and bathrooms are more than adequate for the price you are paying, bedroom has fan and heater which are great. Will stay again.

Very hard bed. I booked a king bed and it was 2 singles pushed together. Shared bathroom and toilet. Feels very dated.

Its really close to shops, just 13 minute walk. You can hear the trains all night and their random honking. The floor was REALLY creaky. Pretty cheap room, got it for $71.50 for the night on bookings. Com. The shared bathrooms are decent and they have a kitchen shared space that is nice.

The rooms seem fine for the money. Facilities good, parking ok. Live band on Saturday night, sound check sounded like it was in the room…
I actually left and stayed somewhere else. Through the week would be good digs for the money, just ask when the bands are on.

It was recommended place to be on Ballarat Reddit for the evening drinks. We went there on Friday around 5pm. It was dead quite no one on the bar. We just walked around smelling smoke and at the back there were few old men bantering and laughing. The middle room was a disgusting ill lit hole with old couches from roadside and a stage that looks like it's going to collapse. It seriously gave the vibe of some junkie's house. Felt unsafe by just being there.

The pub music below my room was so loud that I had to leave and find another motel that night. Management would not reimburse me. I lost my deposit on the next two nights. Management was extremely rude! You aren't saving any money staying there — plus you are ruining your holiday!

Horrific. The advertising says rooms have “sound proofing” I could literally feel my bed shaking from the reverberating noise coming from the jacks attempting to play what could loosely be described as music downstairs, but more accurately sounded like whining cats. The manager was unapologetic and unhelpful. They said I could pay more money to be 4 doors down the hall 👍 Yep, avoid this places like the plague folks. I can see now why the hotel is a ghost town and why there are some many 1 star reviews.
