We had a very enjoyable three-generation family holiday at Hawley House, staying 3 nights. Highlights for the children were feeding and "riding" the horses, wildlife spotting and roaming free around the paddocks. Highlights for the adults were exploring the gardens and bush tracks, the delightful continental breakfast in the main house, and talking with the owners/hosts. Highly recommended.

Absolutely beautiful accommodation and setting, rooms are spacious and very well equipped, the house is fascinating, they are very dog friendly and the property is stunning — Sophie and family are very friendly and obliging, dinner was delicious — we are loving our stay and so is our little Frenchie.

A beautiful historic house amongst a picturesque setting. We were warmly welcomed and well looked after. A short drive to Devonport yet secluded by beautiful bushland and a short walk to gorgeous beaches. We hope to return.

My husband and I stayed at Hawley House last weekend and we loved it so much. The staff were so amazing and welcoming. It was such a beautiful experience and we felt so welcome. We can’t wait to go there again, we certainly give Hawley House a 5 star review.

Booked Hawley for my Birthday with Friends and had a fantastic time. On the beach beautiful gardens and close to a lots of wineries and small towns of interest. A week just didn’t seem long enough — с Daniel Stanley Laybutt.

Truly one of Northern Tasmania's best places to stay, an added bonus is they are pet friendly, our dogs love it. The warm, relaxed family atmosphere is one of the reasons we keep coming back, as well as the extremely comfortable rooms and a restaurant that is second to none in service and quality in the locally produced food.
If possible I would recommend at least a two night stay to really be able to appreciate everything this place has to offer. This 1878 house has soooo much character and charm, the gardens are a pleasure to explore as is the beach across the road.
Hawley House is the ultimate escape and wind down from the stresses of life, a get away that has been my pleasure to discover, I can't wait to get back there again.

Thank you ladies for making our stay so enjoyable and feel like home, you have a beautifully house, yes old and quirky but so full of character and warmth set on beautifull grounds which were a pleasure to explore. Having dined in last evening we could not fault the food or service, we loved that we did not feel hurried or rushed such a good atmosphere. The intimacy of the place made it so easy to talk to other guest with the feeling of being one big family. I would highly recommend Hawley House but not if you are looking for something modern and sterile. We simply love this place and look forward to our return.

My husband and I stayed with our Illawarra Snags Baseball team at Hawley House for 10 nights during the Australian Masters recently. Our stay was amazing and we cannot speak highly enough of the service, the meals and the accommodation. The location is so peaceful and serene and we are definately planning to come back. The scenery and the wildlife are abundant and thebeautiful walks around the gardens you can take are so lovely. Not to mention the horses in the top paddock and the dogs Shadow and Juniper Berry and Ratty the cat. Sophie, Yvonne and Kathleen were so lovely and we would recommend Hawley House without hesitation. Thank you ladies for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable.

A very special place. Beautiful grounds bounding with life both plant and animal. The heritage listed main building is a great example of style from (I think) about 1860. Furnishings artwork and decor are very tasteful. I stayed once again in the converted stables. The meals are superb, made from local produce and directly off the 400 acre estate. They produce their own wine also. The big bonus is that your four legged friends are welcome. I could elaborate on the amenities and features but too much to include. The costs are not cheap but quite fair. The only negative is that some of the accommodation is a little tired. This place is not for the modern polished traveller but more the getting back to nature ones.

Hawley House is a remarkable place. We stayed here for one night as we made our way to our second home in Tasmania. Extraordinary hospitality, rustic accommodation and an amazing location.

An almost individual experience. Great food, but limited options, but that's what makes it very nice (set menu's).

Terrible reception. Felt like we weren't welcome. Room was good, weird decorations for a loft in a barn room. MKe it more rustic and you'll be onto a winner.

A very different dining experience, great food and service.

Decided to treat ourselves for our last night on our honeymoon, but what a mistake that was had to turn everything into a comedy act so we didn't leave tassie grumpy this place is one run down dump. Maybe it was nice once a long time ago weird now.

Cycled Tassie and as a last night thought we'd treat ourselves to something special. How wrong were we! Hawley House may have been something special 20 years ago, but not now. Was very dissappointed. Seem to be trading under what once was a good name, you will pay a premium price for second rate service. The place is just run down, thought I'd fall through the steps leading to the roof! Little things like loose tiles on bath, no soap in soap dispenser, they couldn't even be bothered printing out a new tea menu, instead using the previous nights and telling you what was on and what was off. Normally wouldn't bother me, but for the price you are paying to stay there things should be a lot better. My recommendation — you could do a lot better elsewhere.
