The motel is a cute and rather quiet place in a lovely location with views over the Derwent and Hobart city. The staff have absolutely incredible service. Better service than a 5 star hotel. But to top it all off, the owner has adorable and friendly puppies. Citiview is simply outstanding. :D.

We stayed here about 10 years ago and thought it was great then. So when we decided to come back to Tassie we thought we would come back here. Value for money is great. A bit dated but great views, hot and very clean shower, king size bed was very comfortable and everything worked and great heating, would highly recommend this place. Close to the CBD we are staying for 3 nights and would definitely stay here again. Thank you City views Motel.

Some of the rooms have a city view and because it is located next to a freeway those rooms will come with the freeway noisy too. We stayed 3 days and 2 nights… they don’t make your beds, they don’t change used bath towels and you have to clean your own dirty dishes. The quilt, shower mat, the shower curtain and toilet seat are dirty and stained. The toilet water tank top and wall are dusty… no next time for us City View.

Great to find a place that allows dogs! Room is comfortable and clean. Bath was a great surprise!

Fantastic! What a pleasure it has been, nice and quiet, beautiful views, well appointed room, spotlessly clean and in good order and the live in motel hosts lovely people. What else do you need!? I'll be back!

Stayed here for 2 nights on our honeymoon, very helpful staff and very accomadating when we realized on our 3rd day that there are also 6 rooms which are beimg used as a asin whorehouse where my wife was ogled and leered at by one of the customers. Not happy about not beimg told about all the rooms across from ours being used as brothels. Couldnt even sit outside our room for a coffee without witnessing about 4 diff guys coming nd going every 20 minutes. Would def not stay there again. Would reccomend elsewhere if you have children. Wanted to give no star nut need to put something.

An experience we won't forget so easy to go east or west from this location staff are super friendly, rooms aren't flash but are clean and beds are just fine, would stay again but up the top rooms just a different view.

Rooms where very dirty not clean bathroom floor look like not cleaned for for weeks where we went two bed we where wearing our clothes to bed because we thought clothes where cleaner than bed.

Must agree bit dated but the owner was on point with an abusive, unruly guest. If only other owners/managers stood by their policies like this owner did.
It was very clean, bed comfortable and though on the busy highway it was really quiet, only minutes from the CBD by car, and with awesome views across the Derwent. We will definitely be back to stay again.

It's very nice for living.

Good price, comfortable bed, microwave and fridge. Perfect for a traveler with a car.

Shower was terrible, rusty toilet roll holder, lights not working and fresh towels were not supplied until requested. Not even a hope you enjoyed your stay when keys were returned. Pet friendly was about the only thing going for it.

Great clean rooms. Great view also and great receptionist.

Clean, quiet, towel, shampoo n small bar of soap provided.

The room facilities are quite complete, the nearby supermarket is convenient for shopping.

No customer service during check-in, basically by self-help. Nice view.

Great place to stay. Warm and friendly service from the owners. 10 min walk to Rosny Park. Make sure you pat the 2 dogs at reception. :)

Our stay in Hobart was made all the more memorable due to the City View Motel. We've definitely chosen your motel as the most comfortable and economical Australian motel at which we've ever stayed. We'll definitely be booking at the City View on our next trip to Hobart.

A fantastic room, views that can only be described as simply breathtaking, and great hosts in Grant and Bill. If you don't know were to go, or how to get there, Be alarmed but not afraid. Bill and Grants knowledge will help you. Love the place.

Was great location for a few nights on the eastern shore, they did have a mix up with the rooms and same surnames? but we would stay again it is on the eastern shore which is great and a great price which we got on net :) would stay again for sure, thank you :)

“Poor customer service” Charged me for a room I didn't use even though I called the day before to cancel. Apparently that wasn't "24 hours notice". What is wrong with you people? I would never book again now and would not advise anyone else to do so regardless of the quality of the hotel room. Poor customer service which should not happen in this day and and bad for Tasmania too. I could not afford to be charged for a room I was unable to use. The correct response would surely have been " very sorry we won't be able to see you tomorrow, but do come again soon". Booking March 2014 1 of 5 stars Service.

Great clean and friendly, close to everything. Loved it.

We stayed here for two out of need — reception closes at 5pm — five cars came in and drove away while we were cooking our barbecue prior to 6pm Toilet was on a slant — felt like you were falling off. Toaster and microwave in room but no plates or cutlery. Beds were very ordinary — no spare blanket and it was very cool — thank god the heater worked Laundry facilties good but very expensive in comparison to other motels Badly in need of refurbishment Absolutely great position and view — great potential.
