Stayed here a few times now and we are always happy and comfortable all staff very helpful and friendly.

Stayed here last week for 2 nights with another 2 work colleagues. So yes we were on a corporate rate and got a room each on Lv4 and L5, we still found the hotel excellent for its 4 star rating. Staff were very helpful when we were trying to find somewhere — went out of their way to get us the info. The rooms were large, excellent condition, beds were firm thankfully and towels soft. Cold nights outside but room warmth with thermostat control was fine! Wifi worked well. Buffet breakfast was surprisingly very good — a large range of hot and cold inc pancakes, boiled eggs, bakery, cereals, juices considering it isn't a large area. Perhaps this hotel has different brand rates as I noticed the IBIS brand on the signs at the door to explain why other guests have rated it so low? Definitely staying here again. Great location on North Terrace.

Service was very nice and room was ok, it is a bit old but they do tell you that when you book so good on them for being honest. A couple things I wasn't happy with was, the room key instantly cancels out at around 11am. So if you have late check-out like I did you have to go to reception and get a new key card create. Now yes, it doesn't take long to get a new card and they were very apologetic about it, but it would be better if there systems realised who had Kate check-out and who did not and to not clear the keys of those that did. The other issues is they don't have a mini bar anymore. Apparently this is only recently happened and I don't really understand it. They so say you can order stuff from the mini bar menu and they will bring it up to your room. But all I wanted was a bottle of water or orange juice and when I looked at the mini bar menu, it says you have to order a minimum of 4 drinks. So it was a bit annoying. But again, you just deal with it and go to the convenience store that is 20 meters away. So overall I give it 4 out of 5.

Dated decor, small room with no view and a monster post right in the middle. Small bathroom and toilet… May have been trendy back in the day but now it's just awkward. Clean, quiet and good location though.

Don't stay here. Rooms are old, dirty marks on the walls that need wiping. The whole place needs a revamp. The group I went with said it was like a prison. We had to change hotels. I recommend Holiday Inn around the corner. Cheaper price for a much better quality hotel and experience.

The hotel rooms are well equipped. Above all, you don't feel squeezed like you're in a sardine can. Staff very friendly.

I stayed in this hotel for four nights. I can't say it was a positive experience. First of all the room I was initially assigned was really below average. I could touch both walls lying down, carpet was old and stained, it was cold and there absolutely no storage (don't need much but still for 4 days that's extreme). After setting up I realized that I could not even get Wi-Fi coverage. Being there for business that was a major problem. I complained and was initially told sorry can't do anything it's our provider… poor response and after insisting I was put into another room with some (still incredibly poor) coverage. They also claim to have a gym but it is more like a closet. The place is like a labyrinth and I had to take two sets of stairs to reach my room after an elevator trip. Location is good and most staff are doing their best given the circumstances.

Loved the visit. Staff were friendly and welcoming and there was no delays checking in or out which is fantastic. Only concern was I left someone in the room when I checked out and haven't been able to get in contact with anyone to recover this despite calling the same day I checked out. Bit disappointed but the service all in all was fantastic.

As a venue for work training it was good but our room had limited power points & very weak to mostly no Wi-Fi access. The lunches the hotel provided were sub-standard to say the least. Do not eat here if you can help it.

Worst motel I have ever stayed in. Extremely run down. Lifts never working. No control over room temperature which was extremely cold. Walls, carpets, curtains have not been updated for decades. Extremely noisy. Very poor bed. Very dirty.

Nice place to stay. Carpark spaces are small so beware if you have a larger car. Convenient location to many places.

Centrally located to shopping, malls and the Adelaide Oval/Convention Centre. Clean basic hotel. No frills but spotlessly clean, good bed, nice clean bathroom. But all add ins very expesive; bottle water $7.50 for example. In house resto like wise expensive. But for one or two good accommodation.

The hotel is good and clean, but the air conditioner Lacks controls and is weak. From the windows, one can only see alleys. The service is good. The buffet is sufficient but good. Rooms are modern but the hallways are poorly designed. There's a pole every few meters, making it hard for people with larger suitcases.

Great service when you communicate face to face but poor over the phone. Rooms were cleanish but far from good. Staff were polite but had limited English skills. Everything needed upgrading. Interior furniture and room was very very rundown. I would not recommend staying here if I had a choice.

Rooms are neat and clean, perfect if you just need a bed and shower. Great CDB location. Has onsite parking in the basement, but it is very tight so I would avoid if you have a large or low vehicle!

Good breakfast, clean and spacious rooms. The bathroom was large and so was the shower. Two different pillow firmness was provided on the bed, and the air con kept up very well with the Adelaide heat.

Service was horrible, staff were not helpful, rooms repulsive. I booked Mercure room and then they tried to put me in a budget Ibis room, blaming the booking agent, rather than accepting responsibility for the problem. The air conditioning was broken and the day was 39 degrees, the best the staff would offer was a fan. The room was so small, and quite a distance from the elevator. You couldn’t step into the bathroom properly, the bed was old and worn and the pillows thin and lumpy. This used to be a reasonable hotel, but after this experience I will never stay here again.

The rooms are small, have absolutely no views. Entire building seems to run of central air-conditioning, the higher floors hardly get any of the cool air, we were on the 5th floor. You can not control the temperature in room, even with the option for the aircon on high, it was extremely uncomfortable and felt as though it was just blowing warm air. We had to resort to wetting towels and placing on our heads and chests to cool down enough to be able to sleep. For the price of the rooms, this is completely unacceptable!

An old hotel recently renovated, whilst quite comfortable and containing all the mod cons, the decor is a little tired. The staff were attentive and responsive and I looked the invite laundry. However the slow free Wi-Fi (limited to 512Kb) was not acceptable.

Central but to be 4 * let it be desired.

Very poor service and small rooms for the price payed. They over paid our bill as well and wouldn't give us a refund straight away even though we showed them proof. Rooms were a bit stuffy and couldn't air them out as the windows are nailed shut. There is also no view at all as the windows are covered. There was no kitchenware even though it showed in the room online. As well as them overpaying us and putting that money on 'hold' they made us pay a further $600 or so for the 2 two rooms, so if you don't have twice the amount of money for the rooms them you'd be screwed. It did not say this anywhere on their website and have never heard of a hotel running this way. I am very disappointed. Overall not very happy and would not come again. I do not recommend this hotel.

My husband and I organized to get away from our business for the day so we organized a room for the 14th October 2017 using our Gold membership card. We decided to go out for dinner then head over to the casino for a few hours. We met up with one of my husband's closest cousins and we left the casino at about 6.00am Sunday morning. We decided to go home rather than stay at your hotel otherwise there was a possibility we could oversleep our stay and since the room was untouched you would not have needed to organize the room for another guest. We run a successful business and we understand there are costs associated with any booking BUT it was the non-caring attitude of your manager. We went to the counter to pay and let them know we were leaving without using your rooms and the young lad asked the manager if we should be charged. Without hesitation the manager said there is nothing he can do but charge us. We do not have a problem with that (we are not free loaders) but we did not ask for any discount or free accommodation in the first instance. We felt very awkward and embarrassed. We would expect a little more care from management.

The hotel is very well placed for exploring Adelaide on foot. We were well treated and made to feel welcome. Our score of 8 and not 9 or 10 is because our room was extremely dark. We were not able to enjoy any views as the windows in the bedroom and the bathroom were covered and could not be opened. The room was thus rather gloomy and we were not even able to use natural light, even though the weather was sunny.

Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. As a result we had a lovely stay at a location that is great if you want to have a good look around the city. The accommodation is excellent very comfortable and most of what you need is catered for. Had a disappointing fillet steak at the Fedbar, it was overcooked, dry and had a strange flavor, I was not able to eat it. Having said that my husband enjoyed his spaghetti marinara and everything else was fine, particularly the staff who are great.

Quite disappointed. It was my second stay but I won't return. The car park although convenient is a nightmare to park in. I'm a good driver, but I saw many having very difficult time getting into bays. I had to use my passenger door to access my car due to proximity of other vehicle. The room was dark, lack of air conditioning poor. Climbing in and out of shower difficult and somewhat dangerous. Blasted with cold water every time the tap was converted to shower despite adjusting temp in bath spout. Breakfast — quality of food mediocre. I asked for a coffee to be made (happy to charge to room) but it never eventuated. Overall, not a great experience.

Great food. Rooms are serviceable, albeit the temperature regulation needs some adjustment in the rooms. The rooms and premises are clean and the parking isn't too expensive. All in all, a pleasant place to stay.

Always enjoy our stay at the Mercure Grosvenor and would not choose to stay anywhere else in Adelaide. Staff always make you feel welcome, rooms and bathrooms very good, restaurant meal top quality. Cannot think of any way you could improve any part of the hotel from reception welcome to leaving.

The bed and pillows were good. The level of noise outside late at night is an issue for you, sounds like hoppers being emptied throughout the night, I didn't get sleep at all over 2 of the 4 nights. The size of the meals, in particular given the costs, are terribly small. In this case, my meals were being paid for me, if I had to pay I wouldn't have eaten there at all. The breakfast… How do you do that to scrambled eggs? you scrambled them to death, you also need to change the way you keep them warm. As the eggs every day where luke warm to cool. The TV was annoying just to change channels — you can't change channels as the instructions on the screen tells you too. Broken? The staff were great, your staff are your assets in this hotel.

When we arrived we were greeted with friendly staff who booked us in quickly. We were very pleased with the room we booked as it had everything we needed. The breakfast which was included was plentiful with lots of choice. The only negative would be the Wi-Fi — we had to pay for it and then didn't work very well. Apart from that we were happy with our stay.

Room OK, bathroom big but cold; helpful staff.

First time and pleasantly surprised. Although rooms are small, the room was spotlessly clean. Staff were very professional and the breakfast was lovely. We were also given free drink vouchers and parking. Fantastic value.

We were happy with the service, hotel room, and the value for money. It was a great set up for our family of 4, with the 2 queen beds on one side of the bathroom and a sitting area on the otherside. The beds were harder than we like, and the room was uncomfortably warm. The buffet breakfast was excellent quality for a 4 star hotel.

11am check out great. Staff very friendly & helpful. Beautiful food & service at dinner & breakfast. We had a standard room, bed was too hard, bathroom/shower quite small. Temperature of the room through the night was too warm. No valet parking. Location of Mercure Grosvenor was convenient.

Good location — free city tram made travelling to the southern end of the city very easy. Although we could have stayed at the southern end of the city, staying in North Terrace allowed us to better a better feel for Adelaide. We caught the train back from Port Adelaide having been advised by your staff that the bus was the way to get there. The train journey was more pleasant than the bus journey. The walk from the tourist precinct in Port Adelaide to the station was not onerous. Your staff were courteous and friendly. We will recommend you to our friends.

Good location But if the rooms are clean and well appointed (although small) the hallways deserve a good refreshment.

All the staff were pleasant friendly and helpful from first checking in. Having the underground car park was excellent being able to go up and down to the car when necessary. The room was spacious and clean (although probably needed re painting). Breakfast room pleasant and plenty of breakfast options provided. Food was good. Check in and check out was quick and easy. The bar area was pleasant and was great to sit and have a drink after a busy day and chat to the other guests. Overall a lovely hotel in a great location.

Expensive, dirty and without the possibility of adjusting the temperature in the room. Wi-Fi from third world to 160 euros per night. Sleep in the car.

Great hotel. The location is central, the property is well maintained.

Very convenient location to the center and places of interest, thanks also to the tram in front of the door. Comfortable structure, with some noise problem of the air conditioners especially in the rooms 246 and 247. Breakfast very good and rich. Staff very efficient and polite.

Pay online, what a scam in 2016.

This was a great disappointment. We had to lug our bags from across the street because there was no parking which we then had to pay for. The rooms were small and stuffy and gave us hayfever, an elevator was out of order causing long waits.

A great hotel with lovely service. The pay internet is overpriced but besides that it was perfect.

Everything is run down starting from the Carpark, lift not working apparently for months now, lobby, front entry has scaffolding that you have to maneuver around and the rooms are run — even though we had the Mecure Privilege room! It was more like an Ibis low budget than Mecure!

This place seems to have gone downhill since I last stayed here. I understand they have some construction or renovation work happening, but we were on the top floor, where the carpets looked filthy, the rooms only had windows starting at head height, and everything smelled weird. They also only have one functional lift, which takes ages to arrive, and the car park spaces are so small you wouldn't want to have a family size car if it doesn't have a sunroof to climb out of! Staff are pleasant and the bathrooms are pretty modern looking.

The rooms are clean and the reception very friendly, but unfortunately no Windows are available. The loopholes not to open that are above the beds you can not call window. For that we then pay more floor another $30 for the accommodation in the 5th place in the 2nd per day had a joke. It is also very loud by any air conditioning, ventilation and irrigation from the neighbouring rooms and probably also on the roof. For an overnight stay just so ok. But not suitable for a longer stay. Just not that doll is the recreational value in a bunker. I would recommend anyone to stay in the suburb of Glenelg in a nice small hotel and the tram to Adelaide pure zufahren to the city to visit with.

Stayed there on a Groupon voucher so was great value, room was good sized. Had the essentials. Great location. The buffet breakfast was awesome, good amount of choices and food is constantly being filled up. Staff was great and friendly. Recommend it.

The hotel is ok let down by 1990s internet speeds. Dont concider is working from your room.

I liked it but the pay internet is overpriced.

Locked us out of our room at 10pm because a credit card was missread. Nice work. Airconditioning didn't work either. 35 degrees in the room. Top work mercure. They did offer us a fan. +1 for service.

I found that quite lot of good things to mentioned. First, the front desk Aussie man who called grant were very helpful and help me fixed the problem straight away after two conversations to front desk staff Indian woman and man about the table lamp not working properly (but they did nothing about it). Second, the housekeepers were super nice and helpful (I wish they work in front of house and not work for housekeeping department). Pls provide formal training for the front of house staff otherwise more customers kept running away and more negative command on the customer review. Thx.

Tiny rooms over priced internet unless you use free connection so slow and keeps taking you to hotel porthole. There is nothing positive about this hotel do your self a favour stay somewhere else.

Without doubt the smallest room I have ever stayed in, tired and dated. Shower was the only decent thing. Location is convenient, but best to avoid, plenty of other good options near by.

My husband has booked to stay at this hotel for 3 nights in starting last week of December and few days in early January. I am sure he didn't read all these reviews. Usually his judgments re booking accommodation had been good in the past. However, reading these reviews, I already am horrified. The first encounter with the hotel staff (over the phone) has not been pleasant already. I called to ask few general questions. The staff who I spoke to was very rude. I will be back either after changing or if I have to stay there to share my experience later.

We booked an overnight stay in this "hotel" after hearing some good things about it. Worst. Mistake. Ever. I booked a big room (2x queen beds) for hubby, me and 2 kids (3.5yo and 5mo). The room wasn't ready on time, so we had to wait. After being given keys to our room, we went through this rabbit warren of pillars and poles to get to our room. The keys didn't work, at all. 5 minutes of wrangling and we finally get in. Went to turn on the air conditioning, only to hear this deafening whirling sound, and as the minutes ticked by, the room got hotter and hotter. No, there was no temperature gauge, and that should have been a sign we should have checked out and found another hotel. More time ticked by, and the room was becoming unbearably stifling. Hubby called down to reception to check if the a/c was working, only to be told that they knew the system was down, and if we continued to run it, the room will just get hotter. We were offered a fan to cool the room down, which added to the noise. The toilet in the room had a massive step up, which meant that if you weren't paying attention, you would trip and fall flat on your face, as Master 3.5 discovered. There was no view to speak of, unless you count the bubbling peeling paint of the building next door. The beds were comfortable enough, but well and truly over-made with too many layers considering the a/c was broken.

Stayed with kids, its central to everything if that's what you're after. Our car with roof box doesn't fit in the car park as its less than 2.1m we had to park and re-park in the surrounding suburbs which sucks! As we stayed here for 3 days. Keys never seems to work as well as the air-conditioning. The building is very old perfect for horror movies, it feels like a hospital. Our room had no balcony but can open a window without a screen door — so not sure when its summer time you might have mossie bites! the aircon doesn't work, although when we stayed they said the electrician had to do an audit. It didn't change a thing. The only thing I was happy about are the cleaners, they are very polite and nice to talk to. It has all the things you need and next to shops if thats what you are after. Good for 1 night only.

Read the reviews guys — terrible accommodation, we have just recently stayed at this hotel and the only asset this hotel acquires is its locality. My elderly in laws booked this accommodation through a reputable travel agency (2 people in the room 1 chair for 5 nights) and all the family followed to stay together. Big bad mistake, Uninviting, no ventilation, small prison style accommodation. Parking is expensive and it’s down an alley way and breakfast is 27.50 a go and ordinary. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Save your money — book anywhere else — should have done my due diligence, so disappointed.

It was OK. Room was clean and decent. We got a good price on it. The only things that I didn't like was no free Wi-Fi and $18 per night parking. I would probably still stay again if I got the same or better special deal: $165 for two nights.

Strange small dark and uninviting rooms. Third world penal accomodation would describe the room. There was a very noisey night club next door on one stay and on the next the air cinditioning kept me awake while making odd noises. I couldnt open the window to let fresher air in. One the plus side the crispy skin salmon I had in the resteraunt was very nice and wine list adequate. Main plus for this place is the old world facade andlocation.

I stayed at the Mercure Grosvenor 4 nights for conference. The only advantage of this Hotel is that it is in front of the convention Center. The rest is pretty poor, at least for my experience. I am a AClub member, so I am expecting to find quality and service in each hotel of the Group Accor. This time, I can easily say That it is not a Mercure Quality Hotel. The room was dark and Small. There were a single window which were screwed so impossible to open. As always in Australian Hotel, Internet broadband was expensive and very slow. In my opinion, this is not a Mercure Hotel, maybe a Best Western but not a Mercure. Way to expensive for the service. At the desk, they were nice in the evening but the manager during the day were rude and unpleasant. It was not a nice experience, especially when you are used to the Accor comfort.
