In quarantine here, not too bad so far. Nice big room, bathroom tub is huge. Two big TVs.

Fantastic service from all the staff and amazing food. 10/10 recommended! Will be staying here again for sure. Such a beautiful hotel.

Such an amazing hotel. While we were quarantined here and they could have just let their guards down but no service was amazing. They exceeded expectation in service, rooms were spacious well decorated, food was tasty with imagination. Highly recommend to folks travelling through Adelaide.

I must say this hotel has provided with the best service to my family who has been quarantine in this hotel. They went out of there way just to see a smile on their face.
They could have provided them with basic things and basic food but instead they try to serve us the food which we like and desire, apart from that they also offer us various activities and games so that we dont get bored or depressed. My family he is more than happy to stay at ur hotel thank you soo much playford for such a wonderful service.
You have given them soo much that they feel like they are not away from there home.

My stay here has always been wonderful. Food, room, gym/pool is great… the best part however is the Staff. EVERYONE is absolutely amazing. They pay attention to detail from check in staff to hotel Restaraunt/cafe staff. Everyone!

Cosy but Classy. We love the playford because we feel like its luxurious without being pretentious. All staff are friendly, rooms are nice and breakfast is yummy!

This is my favourite hotel not only in Adelaide but in Australia. It is in a fantastic location across from the casino, conference centre and Train station. The staff are professional and friendly. It has a pool and the rooms are of a very high standard. I love to go for a run along the river which is close by. I can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Excellent hotel with attentive and helpful staff. Being centrally situated in Adelaide it is good for the tram, bus and railway services so it's easy to take in all the best this city has to offer. In addition the food in the restaurant is first class and the bar service is fantastic. Couldn't rate it high enough.

Lovely loft studio; spa bath and pod coffee. Beautiful linen bedding amazingly comfortable! Room menu amazing. Only let down was views into offices across the way. Suggest ask for room facing North Terrace.

Great hotel and wouldn't hesitate to return. I almost always skip hotel breakfast in favour of other local cafes. But don't skip their breakfast. It was the BEST hotel breakfast I've ever had. Hands down. And Ive done my fair share of breakfasts. In fact if I lived there I would skip the cafes and go to this hotel for breakfast. Also staff were good and room was spacious. Only drawback was a bad smell coming from the bathroom drains.

The hotel is very nice with good amenities and well positioned within the city. It is easy to access all that Adelaide offers from this location. The bar, restaurant, pool and gym are all good. The decor is pleasing and the rooms are spacious. The stand out for me was the quality of the staff. They are friendly, accessible and very happy to help with inquiries in order to make your tourist experience better. I would be happy to stay there again.

Very friendly and attentive staff. Elegant surrounds, well presented rooms. Breakfast great selection, nice food. Could use a little rethink on how patrons can access different dishes with hands full. Juice jugs heavy to use for some. All in all very good.

Great food and really good service. Go there on a regular basis for lunch. Has a nice variety of home cooked style food at a reasonable price. Love the food! Comfortable & rich surrounds — makes me feel like I'm on holiday staying at the hotel.

Had dinner with eight friends. Enjoyed the Fedtival of Food menu. The tasting platter for entree was magnificent. I had the beef main and the meat was so tender it melted in my mouth. A few ladies had far too much fat in their cuts of meat but mine was really good. I was very disappointed in the choice of sides, hence didn’t order any. The tasting dessert was not to my taste. Still we all enjoyed the night.

Had my formal here and it was a fantastic venue! The staff were extremely patient with us especially when taking photos and the venue is just gorgeous! It's a bit pricey, but worth it for that special night.

This is a brilliant place to be. Want a nice cocktail? Come to the lounge. Sit in comfy sofas and sip a mixed drink, a wine or a beer. Want a delicious meal? Walk past the sofas to a comfortable mezzanine dining space. Either way, you'll leave happy.

Has a renaissance decor and goes for a regal feel. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious. No issues there. My breakfast experience was disappointing. The breakfast is overrated. I have definitely had better. It was part of the room but in order to have breakfast, you had to book a time. This is disappointing. I have been to 3, 4, and 5 star hotels, none have ever asked me to book. This removes the feel of service and alters to control. The response was (we don't have the tables). Alternatively I had to take breakfast in my room which was small additional service fee. On Mothers day, similar thing, when it could only be served between 6-8 because they were keeping the tables for mothers day. I can somehow understand this, but whats the use of being a customer. This didn't only happen to me, it happened to 8 people in front of me. In addition, I would like to add that The Playford contacted me in relation to the review and took the feedback with grace. They were not informed of this scenario and will work with the teams to improve this. I am grateful for this and would definitely now return to the hotel. As stated, everything was really nice.

I came here with a woman I met at the Ban Live Exports protest rally on Sunday at Parliament House to drink coffee. We both had two cappuccinos with almond milk. The taste was acceptable and so was the price. We were glad we were allowed in for a fancy looking hotel considering we were casually dressed. The only complaint was not finding someone for a while to serve us for our second cappuccino.

Stayed here for a few nights last month. Amazing experience, breakfast is a little hyped but still good. Staff were helpful, room and facilities were amazing. Cleaning staff were lovely to talk to and very pleasant.

$200 deposit! Wake up to 2018 people. I've paid for my accommodation, not making addition investments in your business. Loft style rooms are outstanding but the decor is gaudy and reminiscent of rooms in China in the late 1990s. This theme is reflected throughout the hotel though.

Really nice old school feel to the hotel, and super friendly service. Location is great within Adelaide CBD, but my highlight was how good the gym was! Fully equipped.

Best buffet breakfast in Adelaide. Fresh make breakfast with variety of choice. Large selection of yogurt and cereal. Friendly staffs. Ugh recommended.

Charming hotel with an Art Nouveau style that makes it different to your run of the mill hotels. If you're looking for something special then this is my top pick! Excellent, personalised service, tasty food and a convenient location. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The late night swimming pool is the perfect way to relax a bit after some dessert cocktails. One thing that can make even the most extravagant hotel seem like the worst choice is the air con. Never fear! I had the best sleep because the temperature was perfect all night. I didn't have a noisy vent or dry air blowing in my face. The only reason that this hotel didn't get five stars was because of the building going on at the time.

Just really really really amazing place to stay. Away from the loud city nightlife sounds. A place to be romantic spoiled. Service was just perfect friend and not over done… expect to be treated the same if you walked in with thongs or a suit.

Was there for a work function, but did not stay at the hotel. The bar staff are very good at what they do. The function rooms upstairs are very nice, and the decor is great.

It's difficult to give this place a 1 star due to how nice it is and how lovely the staff was. Beautiful place in a great location. However, we didn't get one hour of sleep due to the noise coming from the clubs, bars and homeless people shouting until about 6 am. We were on the 5th floor facing the entertainment district. My advice is to request a room on the street side and your stay will be much more restful. Wasn't very impressed with the bar at the hotel either. We ordered two Martinis and it was basically water and vermouth. Great location, lovely hotel and rooms. Perhaps the best staff i've ever encountered at a hotel. But if you can't get a decent night's sleep all of that becomes diminished considerably. Also, something really odd about the hotel room was a 7 centimeter gap at the bottom of the door in the bathroom. So needless to say using the restroom wasn't quite as private as it should be at a place like this. I've probably stayed in 150 different hotels around the world and have never seen that. Very odd.

In advance, a note for drivers. Although the hotel is located directly on North Terrace, it is hard to see. We blinking drove by two times. In the Navi therefore enter Victoria St. You can also get out of the Hindley St. As the North T. In Jan. 2018 only partially to be driven. Here are both the short-term parking for check-in as well as the inexpensive hotel car park. Beautiful, venerable 5 star hotel in the centre of Adelaide.

This restaurant was excellent. The meals we had were truly exceptional. The tastes and mouthfeel were exquisite and well designed.

A very nice place with a decent amount of room in which to move around. Can be pricey, but this should be expected given the opulence of the place. Staff are helpful and professional. Balcony view was very nice. Had loads of fun. Food and drink were very good.

Hotel looked very smart. Didn't see much of it as we were waiting for a friend who was checking in there. Australian cricket team were staying there so if it's good enough for them it must be pretty good.

We attended a work function for RAB Engineering tonight, and upon arrival found the set menu was a choice between turkey or beef. We are vegan. We asked the (fantastic) waiter if we could have the main meal minus the meat, not being the types to make a fuss we would have been happy with some veggies/salad. To our absolute delight, the chef prepared something especially for us, completely seperate from the set menu and entirely delicious. I'm feeling very grateful to have not been treated like an inconvenience and left feeling completely satisfied and honestly a little choked up at the absolutely wonderful experience we were given tonight. I'd give 10 stars if I could. Thank you so much. The pineapple and mint sorbet was to die for.

It is always great to have lunch there. The food & coffee is pretty good. Also great service, friendly and inviting.

Went to the restaurant/bar for dessert after dinner elsewhere. Have eaten at the Playford multiple times over the last 18months and as usual, the dessert was excellent. We ordered 3 items we had tried before and all were perfect. Have not had better dessert anywhere else.

A beautiful hotel with friendly staff. The rooms are very clean with tea and coffee making facilities and comfy beds. The hotel is centrally located with the tram stop only50m away. We enjoyed our brief stay.

Just minor things wrong, really. Like non polished glass tops, lipstick left on glass rims, stained furniture, also We had approximately 30 flies in our room at one time. The food though is outstandingly good. The staff is really friendly and customer oriented. We want to mention Thomas who took care of us in the restaurant.

Attended a ball event. The food was lovely, and the waiting staff did a wonderful job being helpful when necessary, and otherwise making me feel welcome. A nice-feeling venue in general.

Excellent service! There staff were extremely attentive from the time we pulled the car up next to the hotel. We were offered valet parking, but chose to self park and instructions were clear from this point to we got to our room. The hotel room had everything that we were looking for an overnight stay. The hotel's location was central and we comfortably walked around the CBD. We did not take full advantage of the hotel's facilities, but we really did enjoy our stay.

The Playford is a great hotel to stay at for short overnight stays or longer getaways. Staff are professional and are always there to help. The record of the rooms is professional for the style of hotel. Facilities on site are what you can expect from most modern hotels. Location wise this hotel is central to the majority of tourist related locations. There is also a free inner city tram you can take to get to most of the more visited locations in the heart of Adelaide.

Great location, staff and service so can't complain at all in that respect. Yet it's just another well managed hotel. My room had zero view apart from the back end of another wall and some dudes smoked window bathroom meaning my curtains also had to stay shut. Looking for something different than airbnb it.

Great location, lovely ambience and attentive staff. I got a well presented room on the fifth floor and had a lovely night's sleep. Would definitely recommend as good value.

Best hotel I have ever stayed at. Not sure what the basic rooms are like, but was satisfied from the second I parked my car… Or rather let valet park it, until the second I left. Buffet breakfast is a draw card, but at $40 a head… We couldn't justify spending that much on breakfast. Highly recommend the Playford!

Back in June, as part of my birthday celebration, my wife booked a night at the Playford hotel. Well, it's not a couple's night as we brought our kids along too. I'll just point out a few things that sticks out when I rethink the experience. The room is rather spacious, and the color choice of gold and black made the place seems very classy indeed. Bedding and pillows are very comfortable (the best I've tried so far is Pullman — Sydney). The queen bed is big enough to squeeze 2 adults and 2 kids. The coffee bar in room comes complete with a nespresso type of coffee machine. Complementary coffee available. The bathroom is alright, nothing too outlandish or special, the shampoo and body wash however is just unbelievably refreshing (yeah, I can't believe I'm saying this, I'm in love with a hotel provided shampoo) Appelles Apothecary & lab. That's the branding of the toiletries. Outstanding. There's pool, and jacuzzi available in the basement. The kids love it. Oh, also a good size gym there, even though we didn't use it. All in all, a good day/night spent.

Lovely Boutique Hotel. The decor is a 1930s based eclectic mix, a bit mad but has a 'wow' factor. I've stayed here a few times and have stayed in the standard accommodation through to the NYC style 'loft suites'. All the rooms have been well appointed and clean. The staff are always helpful and friendly. For the quality of the product I would say it's very good value too. The breakfast buffet isn't cheap, could be over $40, but the quality and selection is awesome. On the downside this is not a well kept secret so it can be difficult to get in sometimes on, it's we stay elsewhere we really notice the difference.

The room was very nice, and service was high standard, well done. Loved the spa and sauna which were in the basement and theres also a pool and gym. Restaurant was nice, and food is excellent. Location is great too. Overall a very nice, lovely experience.

Was upgraded to a suite which was a nice two level mezzanine bedroom with a staircase. The room is very well appointed with a coffee maker, good toilettries, spa. Even distilled water for the iron. Very friendly, warm service. I enjoyed a good meal at the restaurant. The location is very good. A very pleasant stay.

Nice hotel, great coffee downstairs, friendly staff. Rooms clean and well cared for. Found the beds a touch hard for my taste but not bad. Rooms are spacious and well maintained. Close to the casino, a number of smaller restaurants and a local convenience store. Walking distance to the mall. Across the road from a rail station as well. Area can be a little seedy at night due to proximity to a gentlemen's club not far away. But is well covered by security. Cafe at the Playford is really good bar service at night also. Great for meetings or just passing some time. Not my first choice in Adelaide but still a good choice.

Expensive but noisy room with music outside and the food has been quite bad. Our dinner would have been perfect but it was very heavily salted to the point where we could not eat it and had to ask for replacement food which they provided with a small bucket of salt "in case we needed it". Brunch had a good selection but breakfast this morning was poor: mostly leftovers from mothers day yesterday.
