We had a lovely one night stay at the Port Douglas Motel. Lillian and her staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was exceptionally clean and Quirky. The facilities with pool and kitchen were very good although we didn’t get to use them. The location was very good close to beach and shops. Would thoroughly recommend.

Great friendly place for groups. Stayed in 2 rooms and Wi-Fi never worked in either. Room 8 is noisy right next to the pool and bbq. Area. Was nice and colourful and would stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 days. It's in a perfect location to everything in Port Douglas — easy walk to the beach and to all the restaurants. The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean, well equipped, and comfortable, and there's a great pool and grill area. We'll be back for sure!

Brilliant location, just a wee walk to the centre of it all, really nice facilities, bright and cheerful to put you in the holiday mood. Best of all Lillian and Bernie themselves — they really love what they do and just want you to have the best stay. We were only in town for one night and they were one of just two places that would accommodate that. Next time we will be in town longer and we will still pick them over the others!

My father stayed at Port Douglas motel for a week, he is so impressed with the rooms, he had a full sized fridge and TV he said the bed was so comfortable he wants to buy one, the rooms are very clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the price was outstanding, he is looking forward to going back, I would like to thank the staff for making my father feel at home as I am sure they do with everyone.

This motel is really is lovely and the lady at reception was very friendly and welcoming. I would have given it 5 stars however the shower was a bit rubbish and the Wi-Fi kept cutting out. The shower worked, but you had to spend a long time getting the hot and cold temperature right and the pressure was a bit weak. Apart from that, the room was very clean, ideally located, and had a spot for parking right outside the room door. I'd definitely go back here and recommend it.

Excellent motel. Very comfortable, stylish (and colourful) rooms with a good bathroom and lots of light. A nice pool and shared kitchen area to complement the kitchenette in each room. The staff were very friendly and could even help you set up a tour if you so wished. Fair prices and close to the restaurants and beach.

Convenient place to stay close to main Street for shopping & restaurants. Also easy walking distance for beach. The motel also had a pool and BBQ. Nice rooms and reasonable prices.

We thoroughly enjoyed the complex. Our room was large and spacious. Extremely clean throughout and Lillian our host was a wealth of information. I couldn't fault it and I will return.

Location is perfect, near the main street (Macrossan St) and also near the beach and the Marina. You can go walking to any of these spots! Room is very clean and tidy, and has new and good appliances. It has a nice pool and barbecue area. Staff is very friendly, kind and attentive! I really recommend this hotel as good cost benefit!

Motel with a Hotel quality. Room is large for a studio apartment. The refurbishment has been well done with a retro feel. Couch is so comfortable I fell asleep on it. It has a kitchenette that is well stocked for your eating needs with a large fridge (most places only have bar fridge so it was great to see… and use). The bed is also so comfortable. Our room is super clean, quiet, pool just down stairs and the main town centre is a short 5 min walk away. Im not one to give 5 stars but for a motel this superseded our expectations. Definitely come stay, we will certainly come again.

Although I only stayed one night the accomodation was clean and staff very friendly. It's right around the corner from the main road which meant that everything I wanted to see was within walking distance and no need to book a taxi or find parking. Will be recomending it to friends and family.

At a spur of the moment decision we decided aon a weekend in port Douglas. Accomodation was scarce and we ended up here… by no means could you be disappointed. Clean, quirky, friendly, excellent position and the attention to detail second to none. Great place to stay on all accounts. We will be back!

We totally loved the Port Douglas motel. It was impeccably clean and really cute – lime green loveseat, pineapple throw pillows, just adorable. Bernie and his mom, Lillian, were both very nice and very accommodating. After tiring, adventure-filled days, we borrowed DVDs to watch in our room and grilled steaks on the communal kitchen by the pool. There was also a handy kitchenette in the room, complete with a microwave and an electric kettle, and a washer and dryer available as well. The salt water pool area has a beautiful mural by a local artist. Great location and Bernie gave us a wonderful tip on a Daintree Rainforest Tour (Cooper Creek in Cape Tribulation, which was amazing). Overall, we had a super fun time and highly recommend Port Douglas Motel.

Most comfortable bed! Had the best sleep I've had in years. The rooms I stayed in was clean, spacious and modern. The staff are so friendly and it is just around the corner from the main strip. 10/10, this will be my go-to for The PD from now on!

Had a wonderful weekend in Port Douglas celebrating my son's 18th birthday and stayed at the Port Douglas Motel. Full credit to Lillian, her family and staff who have done a wonderful job of refurbishing the motel into a retro work of art. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet with all mod cons. Highly recommend for everyone to stay there. Everything in town is within walking distance did not take the car out over the weekend.

Hotel very well located between the beach of Four Miles and the marina starting boats for the Barrier Reef, and a few hundred meters from a supermarket and the shopping street. Large apartments with sitting area and kitchen. Colorful decor, very nice. Pool area and common kitchen with very nice barbecue. Medium Wifi (unintentional flow and disconnection). But the whole is nice.

Exceeded our expectations! The room was large, clean, and comfortable. The location was perfect for everything we needed. We will be staying here again :)

A super motel quiet and yet not far from the centre. 5 minutes and you're right in the middle of it. Very clean rooms and very friendly personaL.

I am writing this on behalf of friends that stayed in this dump. The property is filthy and the management rude and full of themselves. NEVER NEVER NEVER should anyone stay in this cheap motel.

Fresh clean rooms, spotlessly clean, modern and well maintained motel. Pool area is also great with an outdoor kitchen area. Stones through to the main street and all facilities. They also offer rental cars. The proprietors have their fingers on the pulse and are friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. Highly recommended.

We stayed here for two nights. Great stay. The accommodation was clean, the hosts were very friendly and we even could lent some fat bikes for a ride at the beach. Perfect for us.

Wonderful accommodation excellent service, close to shops, beach, wonderful swimming pool, great camp kitchen with BBQ, fridge, pantry. Excellent hosts, we were there a week didn't use the car once, walking distance to everything.

The guy on the desk booked everything for us. We just sat back and enjoyed our holiday. The way it should be.

We recently stayed at the Port Douglas Motel for a weeks stay. On our first night, our fire alarm went off because of a flat battery. After informing reception, was told, will fix. Still not fixed when we left. The back fence is covered in spikes with a lock gate, giving the feeling of being in a detention camp. The short walk to town was turned into a marathon due to the elaborate lock denying access to the back gate. The view from our second floor room gave a lovely vista of the Balinese style pool/garden area of next door, which rubbed salt into the wounds. Cleaning of rooms was minimal and sparodic.

Recently spent 2 nights here while visiting the Daintree Rainforest. The motel is conveniently located and there was ample parking. We just got off from a liveaboard trip and the spacious rooms felt like a really luxury after spending many nights in a small cabin. The staff were very friendly and the check-in and check-out process was really quick and hassle free. Would definitely stay here again the next time I'm in town.

We had a very nice stay at Port Douglas Motel over the wkend. Our service was great and it was a very easy and comfortable place to stay. It only took us 1 minute to walk to the strip. Thank you again, a Cairns local.

I stayed at this motel for 5 nights last month and am SO glad I chose this place over others I was considering! Such a great location, only a 2 minute walk to the beach and the main street where all the shops and restaurants are. The rooms were of a 5 star quality — very spacious, modern and clean. As for the staff, nothing was too much for them — they organised all of our tours, our airport transfers and they gave us great advice on things to do and see around the area. Overall, this family run motel is excellent value for money and I can't wait to come and stay again next time I visit Port Douglas! Absolutely loved it.

Came for 2 days stayed 9! Couldn't believe our luck when we happened on this motel. We were a bit wary of "motel" but this is as they say in their website, "more than just a motel". The owners said they have just done a massive refit and it shows! Spotless, new, great rooms, great pool/kitchen/BBQ area! They really go out of their way! No little kids so noise was no problem and we stayed in the school holidays! They seem to cater for slightly older children and adults. Loved the place and we'll be back again. They also have a 4 bedroom house attached for holiday rental! Couldn't believe it. Hopefully we'll bring 4 friends back and have that! That has its own pool too! Well done guys you deserve success! We stayed here despite the bad reviews, because we'd heard that it now has new owners. Having stayed in quite a few motels over the country in the past 7 years, I rate Port Douglas motel as one of the best. The service was excellent, the rooms were large and very very clean, and the motel is friendly, relaxed and comfortable. Check-in and checkout experience was easy. It has become a Port Douglas favourite stay of ours.

This place is absolutely wonderful. The new owners, Susie and Leo were very friendly, the made me feel welcome and went out of their way to help me. They also renovated this place and it is now one of the best places in Port Douglas. It is only a few minutes walk to the shops and beach. The rooms are very clean and tidy and arranged very nicely, the rooms are the best I have ever stayed in, I will definitely stay here again.

Towels, parking, kettle, tea and coffee provided. Clean floors and good TV. Pool is a tub, whole place rough around edges and cockroach still came to upper floor without any food around. You can get quite nice places nearby for $10 more if you book.
