Super friendly team and great hospitality. Rooms are being upgraded but comfortable for a quick trip. Thanks to Jason and Sarah — you guys were great!

Booked online on their webpage and made a special request which, on arrival, had been noted but needed to be tweaked slightly. Tara was so helpful in ensuring that we were happy with her recommendation. Room was spacious, bed very comfortable and all toiletries of high quality. Dinner at the restaurant was enjoyed by all for both the food and the service. Breakfast was buffet style with all tastes catered for and once again, nothing was too much trouble. All staff especially the lovely lady in Reception on Thursday morning obviously love customer service and it shows. No hesitation in giving the five stars ⭐️ 🌟🌟🌟🌟

We had a group dinner (20) here last night & were well looked after. Chef Jason made us delicious meals full of flavour & all meals served at the same time. Nothing too much trouble. Wonderful staff & lovely bar/restaurant area 😀 thank you from Di & IDGAS group.

Friendly staff — fantastic service from the team. Rooms are large — super clean — comfortable and the restaurant was amazing. Well stocked nautical themed bar accommodates all tastes (beers, wines, spirits, cocktails — nothing left out). And the food … WOW … what a surprise. Fantastic presentation / taste / price. Cannot speak too highly of the experience. We will be back for sure! Dennise & Warren from Byron Bay.

No restaurant available on Friday and Saturdays, toilet didn't work properly (when asked if they could have someone look at it they basically fobbed us off in the most polite way possible), not enough cutlery for 3 people, air-conditioning system smelt like mildew. To summarise-Run down rooms and lack of maintenance to the buildings in general. Will not be returning.

If being served room service a $35 steak in a cardboard box with a wooden knife and fork is your thing, well this is your motel! If they had told me this was the case I would have eaten in the restaurant! And why can you have proper plates and cutlery in the restaurant? what, you only potentially have COVID if you eat in? I travel nationally and have not experienced this poor room service! And earlier in the week stayed 2 nights at Rydges, and it was spectacular!

Came here for dinner, it was definitely 5 star both food & service!

Hidden gem in Mackay. We always have the friendliest greetings and nothing is too inconvenient. Several different rooms sizes to offer and family friendly. Superb service and the meals at the restaurant is a surprisingly amazing with 5 stars menu. Will be back!

Nice rooms, great food (breaky and dinner) and Kimberley and her staff are lovely! Recommend your out-of-town friends and family to stay here! And do yourself a favour and take the other half out for a romantic dinner here! Highly recommend!

The second time we stayed much better than the first and we reflected that in our second review. However their check in/payment procedures are ridiculous. The first time we stayed we were asked to pay at the desk while checking in, however we had already done so via booking website. The second time we stayed (two days later) after we did a bad review about the first stay, I went to make payment upon check in, the Duty Manager said no we won't take payment to which I offered again to make sure it was ok. So I thought that's nice they are making sure our stay was more pleasant than the last, in return now did a good review.
So once question on procedures once asked for payment after our stay (3 days later) I questioned why and why different procedures.
Sometimes they ask for before and sometimes in our case they ask later to make sure our stay is good. To me this manipulative and misleading. I do not rate this hotel at all. As my original rating on Booking. Com reflects if we didn't need the three bedrooms for our family we would have not stayed the second time. Review your procedures or making it VERY clear because we are now out of money because I have to scrape together the payment.

Have recently stayed on two occasions passing through Mackay.
"Kimberly" attended to our every requirment with proffesional, fast, friendly service one would expect at a five star resort!
A truly exceptional team member that I witnessed helping every other weary traveller over the Christmas break with a cheerful manner we rarly see these days and a true credit to this establishment. I employ thirty or so staff in my service related business and wanted to give her special mention.

Wow! What an absolute exquisite evening dining in the restaurant, the food was deliciously devine and the customer service outstanding! The best seafood I have ever tasted, tasty oysters and the barramundi was cooked to perfection, compliments to the chef — thank you for an unforgettable experience.

Absolutely delicious Mother's Day buffet breakfast this morning, well done to the staff it was all amazing and thank you for our little gift.

Had a birthday dinner there with a table of 8. Absolutely impressed us all. 3 courses were all delicious and exceeded expectations, service also could not be faulted. Thank you for a special dining experience CC's.

Fairly good, clean and neat. People were friendly and accommodating. My room had no microwave to heat up food as I was away on for work. Bed was a bit on the firm side. Big pool excellent for summer. Tryed to have a BBQ but it didn't work and the staff there couldn't get it working. Bar and retaraunt looks good, we had beers but no food. Parking was plentiful with area's for trailers. Was a gym there but didn't see it. Free Wi-Fi.

Great little motel. Rooms are clean and spacious, beds are comfy. Walls are really thin so can hear entire conversations and sounds from next door. Aside from that, great service and happy overall.

We recently held a 60th birthday party there and it was fantastic! The food was amazing — not a single complaint from 30+ guests — the staff were wonderful and the atmosphere was great. They were very flexible and very accommodating to our needs. What a wonderful place to have a function. Thank you to everyone at the Coral Cay! We will be back.

Nice place. Clean and close to the city. My only gripe were the hard pillows. Staff friendly. Restaurant served nice food too.

We spent 4 nights at this amazing place! On arrival you are greeted with friendly happy staff (6pm at night) that are so helpful, then you go to your spacious, clean, very comfortable modern room. We had beautiful breakfasts 3 mornings & the coffee was the best.
We will be back & a big thank you to Kerrie the manager for looking after us, you are beautiful!

The pool was one of the nicest pools I've been to in a while, there was a lovely fountain and the temperature was perfect. The Wi-Fi was fast and able to run YouTube at a high resolution easily. We had a buffet at the restaurant and whilst the variety of good could've been greater (hence why it got 4 stars) the quality was still good, for breakfast the eggs were poached well with my only real complaint being that the pillows could've been a little firmer bit that is just personal preference, nice motor inn.

The tenants like the spacious rooms here, but some people feel that the room is a bit old and maintenance is still to be improved · Some of the tenants mentioned that the bathrooms in this area need to be improved in cleanliness. 4.8 is suitable for driving, with a car park and spacious rooms, but room for improvement is necessary.

What a great place if your traveling through Mackay, you will need transport cause its a drive to anywhere or if you don't mind s hot walk in the weather. My absolute fav is the food! Hands down, even if you aren't staying there go grab a bite it's that impressive! Pool was warm and perfect temp. People are very friendly and helpful when asked for info in the area.

Well equipped rooms with nice pool. Restaurant is reasonable for both breakfast and dinner.

Ive stayed in MANY motels across Australia, Coral Cay has got to be in my top 3!

Our queen balcony room over looking pool and splashing water feature is divine, interior simple yet lovely (recommend this room)
Evening meals delivered by the chef, and wowwww… perfecto' have to go a long way to find better from any other restaurant!

Friendly staff, cosy rooms, great food just bring your wallet. Relax by pool after a long day or hit the gym and sauna up. Iwould not object to enjoying a stay here again.

This was more a hotel than a motel. Accommodation is of a very high standard. Our family room had a spa bath. There's a restaurant too. Only disappointment was the room service breakfast which nobody liked, bacon was like leather.

I have stayed here on and off for 6 months. Wonderful helpful staff, clean facilities and lovely pool. Stay overnight or for a while. The restaurant can be slow at times. But the specials are good and wholesome food.

Have stayed for 5 weeks. Has been a great stay. Polite staff who will cater for all needs. And a great restaurant on site.

Useless staff. Dirty rooms. We had asked for a room with 2 double Queen beds and we're given a room with one double bed and 2 singles and was almost defiant as if we didn't know what we booked. Will not be coming back.

The check in desk assistant was lovely and helpful. They have a restaurant but we never tried it. Our room had the nosie of the highway out the front but if you get a room at the back part of the motel I am sure the noise would be better. Beds hard. Extras of anything cost.

Food was really nice. Wish I had more time to eat! Coffee was great too. Staff were friendly even at such an early hour.

We were pleasantly surprised by the rooms. Very modern, spacious a large bathroom and beautiful and clean. Would definitely stay here again. The pool was a huge hit with my husband and son!

BEWARE: READ THEIR RULES/POLICIES FIRST BEFORE BOOKING HERE! Kelly Davidson the manager needs to review their hotel policies! Unreasonable, unsympathetic, uncaring. It's no wonder their hotel is ranked 11! We have stayed here few times before NEVER AGAIN! Spend your money elsewhere, there are better hotels in Mackay!. We booked & have to change dates cause of work, Coral Cay hotel will not refund $314.50 (fair enough, it stated room/rate "non-refundable") but Coral Cay would not even allow to change dates to a week earlier & let us pay room rate difference. No negotiation, no good will… just happy to take our $314.50 for nothing?

Its rare that you can go out in Mackay and get a good experience with a top meal and great service. People don't generally mind paying if that is what you get. In my experience, this is what you get at Coral Cay. The staff are always friendly and courteous, and are always approachable if there is a problem. Also, highly recommended if you are looking for a meeting room, board room or just a quiet night with your partner.

We felt comfortable here (June 2016), it was comfortable, clean and the rooms are simple and modern furnishings. In the resort itself, it has a great restaurant serving excellent food, which I can recommend. Iat very friendly staff. We would stay here again. Note: No Wi-Fi in the rooms but only LAN (only Internet via network cable). The gym including sauna is extremely small in my opinion (no changing facilities, no showers), is thus not worth mentioning.

We visited Coral Cay to try their weekend pancake menu and we were not disappointed. The menu is only available on Saturdays and Sundays and has about 6 different types of pancakes with toppings. The pancakes themselves tasted and looked great and the flavour combination were delicious. Our waiter was a little unsure of the menu, as it wasn't printed and only on the computer. Don't let this slip you though because they are well worth it.

CC'S Restaurant is a hit. Weekend pancake house, yes please. Definitely the best pancakes in Mackay. Go check it out.

Card didn't work. Afterhour service was friendly to help. Room facilities were old. Old thermostat. Old tv. The bathroom design had a retro feel. Didnt have time to try any other facilities. Location is good. Less than 10 minute drive to great barrier reef cruises.

Exceptional… Large room that is very well appointed. Easy access and under cover parking.

Neat and tidy modern rooms. Stayed 3 nights and room always spotless when I returned. Excellent food and very friendly courteous service by all staff at resturant and reception. Would definitely stay here again.

This place was awesome! The three bedroom unit was great value for money and the staff were so courteous. Definitely keep it in mind if you have a short or long stay in Mackay.
