I stayed in bunk surfers twice first time it was à late transit night and heyley thé réceptionnist was very helpful with à Last minute booking and did her Best to make me feel confortable with my few hours stay. Thé second time I stayed 8 nights as I was as I was changing house and my unit was not ready on time… And once again heyley made this expérience very confortable. She is really efficient, great energy, and deserving being 5 stars hôtel réceptionist for the service she provides. All People I met staying there and friends Who expérienced bunk surfers were happy to deal with her and to have her there. She was thé one making thé balance. Kitchen clean, open air pool very enjoyable, night activities and activity team very nice… Thé only point rooms were to supposed to be vacumed and bathroom cleaned every Day which was not the case. They were most of thé time making beds cleaning bin and forgetting about the other cleaning… Also thé worst part of that expérience was thé réceptionist manager thé old Lady Who was very rude, impolite arrogant with no single manners.

Common areas are beautiful, love the hot tub and the reading room. Get get some smaller fry pans tho guys, lots of us travel alone and don't need a mega pan to fry one egg.
Didn't love the bunk rooms, some people might like the privacy but I found them dark, cramped and antisocial.
Staff were great. Best thing about my stay at bunk was dealing with Jordy at the desk. Hang on to that one Bunk… she's a keeper. Clearly she loves her job, what an asset thanks Jordy.

The woman at the reception with tanned blond hair is absolutely unfriendly and impolite. Other wise all the other guys are Just amazing! Sometimes Just one person can make you hate a wonderful place
The rooms are Nice and clean, and very well located.

My over all expérience was good. Clean rooms lovely staff but the old Lady at the reception called jess was hysteric very rude and arrogant and spreading bad energy all the time! Pity she made great expérience bad! She should not be in hostel if she can t contrôle her attitude…

One of the best hostels I stayed in throughout Australia and New Zealand. Very clean, the private beds are a bonus, well priced bar and a big clean kitchen with plenty fridges. Pool is kept clean too. Only downside was having to move room at short notice for ‘carpet cleaning’. Some long termers told me they had been in loads of different rooms.

What more could you want from a hostel?
Dukes bar was fun, the rooms were super clean, the bed set up was very clever so you had a lot of privacy.
Never saw any mess.
Big thanks to the staff, every single member of the team was super helpful and kind. Anything you need they're more than happy to help you out.
You'll be lucky to find a better hostel anywhere in the world, let alone Oz.

The lovely staff and environment is excellent. Very social and fun. The bar dukes downstairs is a great time.

In the heart of surfers paradise. The rooms are clean, very private and plenty of facilities including a pool and Jacuzzi. Bring your own towel though. Just a walk away from everything you need.

Located ideally, it's a short distance from the beach, pubs, clubs, shops. I got the train and then the light rail which is super close to the hostel as well which is really handy if youre laden down with bags! The guy on reception was pleasant. Staff in general were friendly but not as bubbly as you would find in other hostels. I wasn't offered too much information so had to ask a lot of questions. We were moved from the common areas between 10 — 11 and had to leave which really killed the atmosphere. Then there was the bed bug situation. I was as good as told that I (or one of my roommates) must have brought them into the hostel. Not what you want to hear from a problem which was definitely not your fault. No form of apology or even a sympathetic word when I have weIts on my arms and back after the night! Thought the whole situation should have been dealt with better. Privacy in the bunks is good, the beds are comfy (although alive). The room and bathroom and most areas seemed to have a high standard of cleanliness to be fair but overall this was a very meh experience.

I came back from my night out at 4am, went to get into bed and to my surprise there was a man there? I asked if he had got the right room and apologised for waking him. He was meant to be in the room but all the other beds were full, I had no choice but to pack my bags and leave the room. I explained the situation to the person on reception and as it was 4:30am at that point and I was so in shock I didn’t really feel like sleeping anymore. The person on reception said I could get a “couple of hours kip” in the lounge area and then sort it out in the morning. So I was under the belief I would be receiving a refund even if only partial. That would be the fair thing to do in this situation. The manager I spoke to the next morning was so unprofessional and extremely rude. She was aggressive from the start and tried to blame me for the situation. Making out in front of the other staff as if I was the one in the wrong. I felt embarrassed and annoyed, she threw insults around saying I was ridiculous, ending with her raising her voice and telling me to grab my things and get out. She was far more aggressive than necessary towards me as I approached the situation calmly and politely. She really was trembling with aggression and I feel sorry for staff members and other guests who have to deal with her. I’ve never met anyone so rude here! Honestly give this place a miss, it’s overpriced for what it is and the customer service is very poor.

Clean and Cheap. People are very kind and nice. Very gentle and helpful receptionists. I met great room mates, so as long as you find Great room mates, you can not go wrong with this place.

I had a really good time at bunk surfers paradise. The staff was really nice and you have a lot of privacy in the room. Perfect location! Next to the beach, supermarket and all the other stuff you need.

Stayed in a 6 person room with friends. Good amenities and lockers with a safe for each person available in the room. Room was clean and tidy, with its own bathroom inside. No TV meant we weren't distracted and stayed out for longer. Can't ask for much more for the price.

Bunk Backpackers is an amazing hostel. The beds are really comfortable and they offer more privacy then other hostels. Shower and bathroom are very clean and in good condition! Hayley is the friendliest of the reception girls. She is really nice and courteous!

Amazing hostel. Great pool, kitchen are with all you need and the staff is really friendly! The way the beds are set up gives you much privacy and AC was great. Hostel was very clean overall. Location is awesome too! Right next to toen center and beach. Would surely recommend!

Best beds, you have a lot of privacy and plug sockets directly next to your bed. Just in bathroom per room but really nice hostel! Definitely recommend it.

Was turned down for accomodation despite making the booking via phone only to be told after getting off the plane and arriving at Bunk that I could not stay with my Drivers Licence Identification. The person at the desk stated that only Passport ID was able to gain me a stay here and stated it was written all over their website. Perhaps the person I made the booking could have told me as an added assurance? I did not find that information on the website until I got to a page with a smaller fine print once after I had rechecked. Get your act together.

I paid next to nothing (£44) for two nights here, solo traveller in a 4 bed dorm. Nice, new and modern. Very clean. Handy plug sockets. Drank a load of goon they were handing out for free which gave me a banging headache the next morning. They put on events most nights it seems, but they stop stuff on site at I think 10/11pm and people move on from there, which was cool.

Pros: Big and clean kitchen. Lots of food storage space in fridges and lockers. City views from room and walk to rooms. Excellent pool facilities and a hot tub (almost like a hotel). Great events organised for the nights and attracts lots of friendly people. Clean and easy to use laundry room. Cons: Only 2 toilets between the kitchen, eating, living, outside seating, pool and reception areas.

The rooms and beds are super equipped. It has its own light and its own outlet. Breakfast is included. There is a pool for windy days. A bit expensive but the hostel has accordingly also much to offer.

A fiend and I stayed here two nights in the summer. It was amazing! So close to everything, quite at night but during the there are people around. The pool and kitchen are very clean! Everyone seems to have an en suite and there are nightly events like a $5 BBQ wih all you can drink wine.

Awesome hostel, one of the best I've visited in my months of traveling. The beds are comfortable and sort of closed off, like little pods (at least in the 4 bed room I was in). The aircon was a lifesaver, the pool and Jacuzzi were great and overall the hostel was really clean and modern. Free breakfast is just amother bonus. The only downside is that the hostel is quite pricey. However, for the location and quality of the hostel the price is great.

Pretty nice hostel, in an excellent location. Decent breakfast, and tea/coffee always available. The bathroom situation isn't great because it's just one bathroom shared among 8 people.

Possibly the best hostel I've stayed at in Australia — other guests have similar thoughts. Beds laid out in pod form so you have your own powerpoint and light. You share the isle between pods with only one diagonally opposite. Rooms are also airconditioned. Only thing to note is passport is required to stay in the dorm rooms. Everything was spotlessly clean, staff friendly, free breakfast, great location, highly recommend!

I spend 1 week there and I found the less respectful people I ever seen in all my backpacker life, I just move at the hostel just close by (down under) and the difference was huge!
It was very easy to met people there and they let you sleep :)
Also the staff at down under is amazing they just don't have the swimming pool, but the beach is 2 min walk.

Really nice hostel! Great rooms with private bathroom and enough space. Nice backyard with pool and Whirlpool. Really enjoyed my stay!

I'm only going to write the review cause seriously credit should be given were credit is due. Very nice place and everything is sorted out great. Great value for money. Staff very friendly and always keen to help I'll specify Lane on front desk who went over and above to answer all questions asked. Thanks mate, stay awesome :)

Best hostel I ever stayed at! Super clean, lots of privacy, excellent location, super social, friendly staff, free breakfast, and lots of nighttime activities!

It was my favorite backpackers. I visited this backpackers more than 10 times and the last one was really disappointing. Due to the noisy roommates, I tried to move to other room and the staff said I can simply “change” the keys and use other room. Nope. I had to”check out” at 10am and “check in” 2pm again. If I knew it, I’d rather stay in the same room. And also once I checked in, I went down to the reception to ask where the laundry room is. She didn’t see my face and just said, "4th” it was bit rude. Anyway I went to the laundry room and found it didn’t have a detergent machine. It would have been much better if she had mentioned about the detergent when I asked where the laundry room was. So I came back to reception and asked if I could change some coins first. Cause there was no change machine in the laundry room and only $1 coin was available. She didn’t even look at my face again and kept doing what she was doing. She looked annoyed and after few seconds said loudly “I don’t have enough change! I have just $3! ” She showed me the drawer. I couldn’t understand why she was nasty to me. It was uncomfortable and seemed like I was begging her for some change. So I checked out one day early. Now I’m using other backpackers.

We had a 4-person private room in the hostel. The room was really comfortable and well designed and felt a little bit like to be in hotel room. The night was quiet and good. The includes breakfast has a little variety which was nice like some different cornflakes, toasts with marmalade and peanut butter and also coffee and tea. The free 2GB Wi-Fi was really speedy compared to other hostels. Sadly we hadn't the time to check the other possibilities like pool and events.

Very nice and modern hostel. Room was clean and furniture is new! 1 minute walking distance from surfer paradise beach. Huge common area and very well equipped kitchen. Surfs and bicycle available for rent.

Clean, central, good sized rooms. Kitchen was well stocked and staff very professional. I was impressed. Stayed two nights.

Hostel overall has everything you need and it's all looked after properly and is very clean, based on that it gets 5 stars. The kitchen is big and has good storage in refrigerator and shelves. The breakfast is typical hostel style, white bread, spreads, two cereals, milk, tea & coffee. It is a party hostel. Drinking games organised by hostel, including nights out to clubs. The rooms are very clean, showers are really good & there is good locker space which fitted my big camera bag and laptop with plenty of space. There is also a electronic safe for smaller items such as passports, money etc. 3 stars is because multiple nights guest had been kicked out of the hostel on the spot for many reasons. One night shouting and broken bottles, another night (4am) banging on walls with loud music, and they didn't get kicked out until 7am!

Bunk was an amazing place to stay for so many reasons. Not only was the location perfect, but the staff, the atmosphere, and the variety of stuff going on at the hostel was crazy, in the best way! Even though my shared room was very quiet, the communal areas made it really easy to meet people. I had such a great time here and would definitely recommend!

Clean modern hostel, good price, perfect location just minutes from the beach, shops, restaurants and next door to the coach station, perfect for backpackers and those looking for a room on a budget. And free breakfast!

This place is tucked away in a big building but the location is excellent. It is right next to all the top bars and clubs in surfer's paradise. The rooms are really nice and have a full bathroom in them and were not dirty. The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because the hostel staff guy who did the pub crawl was a real d-bag.

Great location and great people! Rooms were perfect and we had a great view over the pool which was perfect to chat and meet people… Only issue was the bed bugs! The staff were very surprised when we told them but still didn't offer to give us our money back for the room which was disappointing.

You will have no complaints if you are looking for a cheap and sharing accommodation.

Great location to shopping and beach. Room was not fully completed yet (they are in renovation) otherwise great rooms. Not enough washers/dryers.

Amazing service. Ellie on reception was great! All staff were in good form. Beds were really comfy, bathroom was clean! Kitchen was clean. Pool area was awesome! Def stay there again. :)

I stayed in a private family room with my friends, 2 single bed and 1 double. The room was modern, really clean and with a balcony with sea view, all at couple $ more than the average hostel dorm. Litterally 4 min walk from Surfers Paradise. Awesome value for the price! Common areas all right, cool swimming and hydro-massage pool.

It's kind of hidden inside of a hotel. Not super easy to find. The halls and some of the area around is under construction so it doesn't look super nice but the rooms are nice. Bunks are pretty private and the washrooms are also nice. There's a pool area but around 4 the shadows of buildings cover the area so you can't sun bathe anymore. But its super close to surfers paradise and there's lots to do around. Theres 2 grocery stores right across the street and the tram system is right there too. As for the free breakfast they provide, its just toast and cereal but its better than nothing.

Literally the nicest hostel I have stayed in during my whole year in Australia! The pool feels a lot cleaner than most hostel pools you go in, has an amazing warm jacuzzi too. The kitchen is the nicest, most spacious, cleanest one I've ever stepped in, everything is available to use without having to rent cutlery. It's all to hand and breakfast is included which is amazing if passing through and saving money … The rooms have amazing aircon, spacious beds with high privacy walls which is so nice considering most hostels don't provide this personal space. Plugs by Wall, balcony looking into the pool and the skyline is beaut! The only negative is that half of it is still a bit of a building site so don't be put off when you first walk in. In fact everything you will use is complete and ready to use so fear not! Slight noise from the builders in the morning but rooms are quiet enough to sleep! Definitely recommend this place for sure we had a great time here! Will be back for sure :)
