Just thought I share a great review of Surfer's Paradise. Pre arrival communication with Gayle on Facebook messenger was awesome. Any question you have prior to your arrival, she will answer it. The property itself is beautiful. We had a lagoon view from the 20 th floor. Staff extremely friendly and we were welcomed with champagne at reception. Twice during our 5 night stay we received sweet treats that were left at our room. Sorry didn't take pictures they were consumed so fast before I could take pics. Location of property is also great. Made day trips to Byron Bay and Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary which are both only 1 hr driving time. Food at restaurant buffet is out of this world. So glad we came!

This place is amazing! Would love to come back when there's another special… Just a great place to relax by the pools, order cocktails and chill. The poolside food was also really enjoyable… and I had a great facial at the day spa too!
Coffee was pretty awful, but that's about all I can pick on, absolutely loved it!

Decor use to be so grand and now it’s boring Pool is still awesome and customer service was good but I would not stay again as it is over priced for what you get. I’d recommend intercontinental at sanctuary cove.

Excellent. Our family really enjoyed our stay and will definetly be returning. Great customer service, family friend, central location and delicious buffet breakfast and dinner. While we loved the pools, our only drawback was they were freezing. If the main pool was heated in winter it would be more appealing. Thank you for great stay!

We have a Marriott card for discount meals and rooms. We had lunch with friends today at Citrique. The service was very good. The buffet was excellent and food was well prepared and the desserts were to die for. Would definitely recommend the buffet.

Absolutely fantastic food, fresh seafood and the best service ever nice and friendly.

My family and I had the pleasure of staying 7 nights over new year, we are just back 3 days ago. We absolutely loved it. We got 2 rooms, one for the 2 teens to share and one for hubby and I, we had plenty of room. Service around the pool, breakfast, the bar, valet and dinner was outstanding. We had an issue on the first night with the air con leaking all over our daughters clothes, it was dealt with quickly, and satisfactorily, even coming back after dinner to a personalized apology letter and a hand made chocolate. We are already planning next Xmas.

Great food and service. Just had a steak sandwich for lunch here and it was the BEST I’ve had. Tender steak with absolutely no gristle. Easy to eat and the side of chips were delicious! To top it off, our waitress Prue was friendly and efficient. This isn’t the first time I’ve been here and it won’t be the last.

My family had a fantastic time at the club. We were welcomed by the staff and offered complimentary bubbles and chocolate. The rooms were clean and beds were comfortable. Our daughter spent the morning in the activity center under the supervision of the hotel staff and had a great time. The pool facilities are amazing. There is a salt pool with fish or a heated pool with water slide. Many hours were spent in the spa relaxing. The buffet breakfast was comprehensive offering continental and Asian cuisines along with lighter fruit options. All round the experience was top class and we will be staying again in the near future.

Rooms in good condition. Location is good, on the edge of the coop stuff so you can walk most places within 30 mins. Place was very busy when I went there. Very child friendly, lots of families. Japanese restaurant there is amazing.

Firstly I must say I almost never leave positive reviews on any hotel. However I will leave my first 5 Star review for a hotel. Yes you earned it Gold Coast Marriott. Your senior management whoever they are needs to be made aware of your high standards of service and exceptional staff. So whats great about this hotel. The pool is fantastic. The food and particularly the Buffet amazing. If you are a seafood lover book it during your stay. Its an exceptionally clean hotel. The front office staff are diligent and prompt. Your Service Desk resolved a minor issue we had and even provided us with some condiments for the inconvenience. That won me over. I am a member of at least a dozen hotel reward programs. I hear and read all the corporate spin most hotel chains claim. The reality with Marriott Gold Coast is they live up to their claim. I'm sorry for sounding like a paid infomercial. Check my other reviews and you will see I give my opinion directly. I had a great holiday and I feel when there is such exceptional service it should be praised. To the Hotel Manager and all the staff — congratulations. Directors in the Marriott Hotel chain should be thankful you have staff of this quality.

Hotel is getting a bit old and run down. Facilities inside the rooms doesn't always work like power points. Personal experience was the hair dryer was old and noisy, got blown up with a loud bang. What's saving grace was that the room service was prompt and brought the replacement hair dryer to the room within a few minutes. Was there attending a conference and half way through in the afternoon around 4:00pm, there was a total blackout which lasted for almost 15 minutes and we got kicked out of the conference room. Breakfast was a bit pathetic as it's the same throughout the entire week and not much choice apart from the traditional bacon, sausage and eggs. Beds and mattress were old and sank in the middle which results in giving you a backache. Been in much better hotels they should check out hotels like Ritz Carlton in Singapore.

A beautiful hotel with one of the best teams staffing and running it. Everyone was friendly and attentive — from the reception desk, to concierge, to the pool bar. Great food at the restaurants, and very comfy, clean rooms to come 'home' to. Had a lovely time staying here. Thank you!

Great hotel to stay in. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the pool is the best one I’ve been to in a hotel. I happily spent the whole day by the pool in a cabana.
In the evening I ordered room service which was delicious.
The only thing I would have liked and didn’t get was a power point next to my bed. I like to have my phone charging overnight and also have access to it. I had to plug it in across the room. First world problem I know but if the rooms are refurbished later this would be a good thing to include in the design.

Most wonderful resort. Stayed numerous times and every time is perfect. Staff incredible. Couldn’t be more friendly. Brendan and Sophie in the pool bar deserve an award for being so lovely and attentive. Can’t wait to return ASAP x.

My two boys and I stayed for seven nights which turned out to be the highlight of a fantastic three week road trip up the east coast from Warrnambool Victoria and back again. From the minute we rolled up and fell out of our packed-to-the-hilt car we were treated like kings, with a champagne and chocolate arrival, special birthday welcome for me in our room, and even an impromptu specially prepared dessert of pancakes delivered later with a personalised note to my son (who is allergic to nuts and couldn’t have the welcome chocolates). We had a wonderful time and were beautifully looked after the entire week! Special thanks to Amber and Kat at reception who were always ready with a smile and a laugh in support of my two very energetic, very excited boys, and the room service staff who tucked their teddies into our beds to welcome us home at night — it took an effort to drag the boys out of the pooI each day! I would also highly recommend the Miso Teppanyaki restaurant — never laughed so hard! The food and entertainment was priceless! We will definitely be coming back to this amazing resort and highly recommend it to others!

The Marriott offers exciting restaurants and has that feeling of Luxury. Rooms are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. Service is exceptional. You must try the Seafood Buffet. Reception goes the extra mile to make your stay memorable. The warm and friendly smile greeting you as you arrive is refreshing. It is the same when you checkout. Featuring several pools and even a salt water lagoon, its an oasis in which you can wind down and relax. Only issue invoices are printed on checkout and its difficult to get it emailed to you.

Used to be amazing, I think it must have changed ownership. Charge for everything now, even sunscreen by the pool and a $6 room service fee, even when drinks took an hour to arrive. Worst thing though, did nothing about guests who were smoking on premises. Came back from the pool to a room that stank of cigarettes. Called once, visited reception the second time then checked out a day early and will not return.

We enjoyed high tea at Chapter & Verse located in the lobby and terrace area of the Marriott resort and spa on the Gold Coast. We were greeted by a lovely young man who explained everything we would be enjoying in poetic detail. The food arrived and I was glad to see that the gluten free version was just as mouthwatering as the regular offering eventhough it doesn't have a scone. The tea and champagne flowed freely and we didn't feel rushed through the meal. I personally found the selection to be more sweet than savoury but I enjoyed every bite.

We enjoyed high tea at Chapter & Verse Bar and Lounge. The food was absolutely outstanding and the service staff were fabulous, very friendly and nothing was a hassle! Highly recommend this place, especially for a special occasion. Special mention to Dani, a delightful young lady who is an asset to the restaurant & resort.

Amazing service by the front desk and food staff, outstanding pools, including waterfall, fish feeding, artificial sandy beach and places to eat under cover. Birds and Iguanas all around the hotel make it fun for the little ones, as does the play centre. Been there 5 times, always have a great time.

This is our third time at the Marriott and we would never stay anywhere else. We have stayed at other hotels on the gold coast and the Marriott is by far the best. The rooms are incredibly comfortable and clean and the staff are always friendly. We had an ocean view room which was definitely worth the extra spend. The buffet breakfast is amazing and the pool is the reason we keep coming back, absolutely fantastic with poolside service of a great range of cocktails and lunch. It's an easy 10-15 minute stroll into the main entertainment area of surfers paradise and removed enough that it's a bit quieter which we love. The mini bar and room service are quite reasonable for a hotel of this size too and it pays to book direct with Marriott as we got a great deal with food and beveridge credit included. You won't regret staying here!

Excellent place to stay and a true resort. Cannot fault this place. I’ve been coming here on and off for over 20 years and apart from a few disruptions during renovations I’ve never been disappointed. Staff are top class, food is always great (casual food options could do with a tweek) and the facilities second to none.

We were there as part of the Marriott Vacation Club. Stay twice during this vacation. The rooms were excellent and clean. No complaints what so ever. Staff was friendly and very helpful. The pool and the hotel salt water lagoon was fantastic. The lobby “bar” could use some work… maybe the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever sat in!

Whilst the hotel decor is a little dated the experience is 6 star. The hotel staff are amazing and the pool and swimming are the best around (especially the sandy pool with tropical fish! ) Worth every dollar.

Very poor acoustics, echoing dining hall. We could not hear each other's conversations at our table over the noise. Presentation of the room and Buffet's was very nice. The seafood for the 80 odd dollar buffet was good but not fantastic. All fresh, but undersized and lacking taste. Oysters with a warm prep like the wasabi ones were fantastic… At some stage… When they'd just been cooked maybe… I didn't get one. While I don't think it was all that bad at all… I have had better for half that price, in a country town hundreds of kilometers inland.

The best seafood buffet of surfers Paradise.

A great hotel for a weekend escape to the Gold Coast. Staff are great and the pool awesome! Big plus it's far enough out of surfers that you don't get the noise and hassles but close enough to walk in or catch the tram.

Love the lagoon and artificial reef. We spent the days snorkeling with the exotic fish. Fish feeding is on at 9:30 and you can swim with them at the time. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Loved the eggs benedict. Room service arrived really fast and was well made and delicious. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Clean and quiet rooms. We ran out of conditioner and called for more. A friendly person was at our door in minutes, carrying a handful of bottles for us. Dinner in bed and movie night every night rounded the days off nicely.

Very old hotel. It is very well maintained though. Unfortunately, one has to say that there are a lot of children. Breakfast is good, but do not skin one from the stool. It should never cost more like €300. Great pool.

The hotel had screwed up our rooms on our first night and this was really annoying especially after our luggage had been left in Sydney by our airline. However they were able to provide us with the proper rooms we had booked. Especially love the pools there because they have their own artificial reef. Why go outside when you have your own private reef! A good experience overall.

Great service. Location is a short walk to Surfers Paradise or trams are the next bet. Views amazing especially out to the west at sunset. Room was nice, a little dated but still very comfortable and spacious. Would stay again.

Have had an absolutely fantastic experience during my stay. Staff were super friendly and the facilities are top notch. A highlight was swimming with the fish in the lagoon. Didn't have an opportunity to sample the on-site food in the restaurants but it smelt amazing.

Probably the best pool/lagoon area I've ever experienced! Marriott has been here a long time but it appears they've updated it recently. Typical Marriott in that you've everything you need in the hotel should you not want to brave Surfers Paradise (great restaurants, spa, lagoon with waterfall & slides! ) On checking out they had staff asking for feedback about our stay, the only reason we didn't give 5 stars was the elevator to parking was out & my wife thought the mattress was too firm.

You can always guarantee a five star experience at the Marriott Surfers Paradise one of the better hotels on the Gold Coast. The rooms are always first class with a daily service, friendly staff, brand new linen and towels. The facilities a world-class one of the most beautiful pools on the Gold Coast and surrounding Gardens well maintained luscious and green and inviting. As well the food is always great even if it's just room service or to eat in the restaurant on the ground floor. You have a tram stop right out the front of the hotel and the concierge are always eager to help you with any of your needs. If you're after the five star experience you can't go past the Marriott on the Gold Coast.

Bought my wife here for her 50th … I have made some average destination decisions in the past but not in this case… just superb. Boys said to me after swimming in the lagoon it was best day of their life … only 8 yo. Staff are fantastic, food sensational and our room was excellent. Lagoon and ocean view and no western sun … does not come any better. Hats off to the Marriott … you have created our new destination … on our doorstep!

Such a beautiful hotel all round. The buffet is the best on the coast but I particularly like the Chapter & Verse bar. Its pretty outside on the deck at night and they have fantastic cocktails and share plates. I find the share plates surprisingly good value and good portion sizes too.

Had Dinner in the Buffet restaurant. The food was excellent, my wife and mother-in-law are both fond of seafood where as I am not, I was very happy there was a wide selection of both seafood and non sea food items. There were also staff walking around the dining room offering samples of food such as Chorizo and Sourdough bread with olive oil and vinegar. The desert selection was excellent with a wide variety of items to choose from.

Work conference. A great looking pool suitable for families and separate pool for those looking for quiet. Staff were exceptional. Could not find a fault.

Very, very good. The dinner buffet had a wide variety of food with seafood and salad. And (since it was oktoberfest) there was a bunch of German food. The rooms were very big and the balcony provided a great view. The pool had a waterfall, spa and even fish which were able to be fed. The TV had all the good channels and a bunch of movies (but you have to buy them). All the staff were kind and helpful. Even got some chocolate and some hot chocolate. It's worth it guys.

Wonderful Resort, great place to relax. The main pool is stunning and you can snorkel with the fish, there is also a water-slide and various waterfalls so it's great for kids too. The rooms are clean and modern, many with fantastic views. The staff are attentive and friendly, the spa is amazing, the Teriyaki grill is great fun. The breakfast buffet is also great. Highly recommended.

Beautiful hotel with lovely pool area. Service was top notch, you can feel the American parenthood. Chairs in bar area though are appalling… the least comfortable things ever. Comfy chairs = more cash spent. I'd change them if I were you.

Outstanding food quality and variety, with somewhat more affordable options available beside buffet options. Excellent view from room with friendly and flexible staff. Room provided all necessary facilities, staff responded perfectly to any issues.

Great location with excellent accessibility. Staff were great and venue was well set up and managed. Disappointed that their liquor licence doesn't allow for the neat pouring of whiskey but that's an issue with state licencing not just this venue.

Amazing outdoor areas even a waterfall to swim under, grotto with spas. Swim in with the fish and laze on their own beach within the resort. Great food. Fantastic service. Can't say enough about this place!

Love this place. Wonderful stay. Wonderful restaurants. Wonderful pools. The pools are heated for swimming and another separate salt water lagoon where you can snorkel with the fishes… 10min drive to seaworld where you can get fresh seafood from Peter's Market or local fishermen co-op along the way.

The Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa has some of the best service staff in the industry and a gorgeous property to match. The common areas of the hotel are beautifully maintained and the lagoon and pool areas are simply amazing! Try breakfast buffet is quite out of this world with the highlight for me being the ion-the-spot cooked omelettes which are divine (you pick your own fillings so how could it not be perfect). I would rave on but breakfast calls!

Awesome staff food and hotel… amazing pool waterslide and tropical reef with fish in lagoon pool=wow. And to top it of, the Chapter and Verse Lounge bar has amazing cocktails and the resident DJ plays the coolest tunes uve heard…

The breakfast buffet was expensive 39 AUD excluding coffee and Dont fall for the "Ocean View Rooms" cause they dont exist. There is only a partial sea view from those rooms. Not worth the price. If you are looking for real views check hotels by the beach.

Stayed in a hinterland view room on the 23rd floor, room was nice, staff were efficient and friendly. Want to the tepenyaki restaurant, it was quite a show. The pools here are very nice, and the bars are plentiful.

The lobby was beautiful and the views from the windows were great. The food was fine, however the coffee was below average. The rooms were generally comfortable, however as of this time the resort has an ant infestation in their rooms. There were ants in our original room, and despite moving several floors there were ants in the new room too. Certainly did not allow us to feel completely at ease during our stay.

Had booked rooms online for 5x adults for 1x night which required 3x rooms according to website. Upon arrival discovered rooms had 2x double beds in each so asked reception if I could cancel 1x room. Receptionist said this required 24hrs notice so I was forced to pay $429 for a room that was not required. Also had selected rooms with breakfast included but this I was told wasn't included and would cost additional $33 per person! We had made dinner reservations at Critique for 7 adults who all paid $85 for the seafood buffet which honestly was pretty poor seafood selection wise. Overall I felt that the extra room could have been canceled (fee charged) as it was obviously in excess of our needs and the buffet breakfast should have been included in price as it had indicated on website. Having organised this as a special treat I was left feeling extremely stressed and frustrated with whole thing and left totally disappointed with whole experience. Definitely had much higher expectation of a 5 star location and won't return,

Hotel is slightly dated but maintained well. The Saltwater lagoon with the tropical fish is fantastic for the kids and adults alike. Generous breakfast buffet plus an excellent lobby lounge and bar. Staff all very accommodating and helpful for us travelling with a 3 y/o and infant (

The rooms are nice and have beautiful furnishings. The pool is amazing and has clear salt water with tropical fish swimming all around. The only downsides were the fact that the drinks cost a lot and that you can't BYO into the pool area.

The best place to stay in Surfers Paradise. They have fish in the salt water pool. Hugh King rooms too.

The marriott gold coast is truely excellent, especially the free Wi-Fi 40 up and down! The pool also blows my mind everytime I visit.

Best holliday we had! For last minute we booked we didn't expected this! Bed was comfortable like clouds! Room clean, stuff more than friendly. The pool was amazing! Massage and barber great! Dinner at Japanese restaurant — so funny and tasty! and great thing about it, that at lunch time they cook at the pool so you can order fresh lunch for less then 19 dollar. Only think what I didn't like it it was over price breakfast! And in the afternoon when breakfast area change to the restaurant it smell there like at fish market! Its is really bad :/ But anything else perfect, we are definitely coming back! If you don't know witch hotel I recommend you this one!

In my opinion this would have to be the best resort hotel on the Gold Coast, love the new bar — Charters and Verse especially on Friday and Saturday nights when they have a great DJ playing modern lounge mix type music, this hotel has such great staff/service and ambiance, been a patron since 1992 :)

Staff are always just great and the exclusive room (Elandra) on the 26th floor was just outstanding. We have lunches and dinners at Citrique regularly and are always very happy with the quality, food selection and service. In fact we are having lunch there today to celebrate my birthday. Really looking forward to a lovely experience as usual. Many thanks to everyone for your ongoing hard work. It is very much appreciated. The friendly, helpful staff were probably the most engaging staff we have experienced in our travels and the service was par excellence! Great hotel, We are always made to feel welcome and are always greeted with staff that go that extra mile. We intend on staying at the Marriot in the Gold Coast at least once a year! Great hotel, we are locals and stay regularly with our two young children. We are always made to feel welcome and are always greeted with staff that go that extra mile. We would like to thank Juliana at the pool bar and Alex and James at Citrique for making our stay over Christmas wonderful again.

Hotel is dated but still quite grand. The room was on the smaller side but still very clean. Service was inviting and friendly. Swimming pool was amazing.

Recently I enjoyed a short stay at the Marriott. The welcome, ambience, our room, and friendly caring service were fabulous. The pool so clean and a pleasure in such hot weather, and very central to the beach for early morning walks while the air was still relatively cool. I would definitely stay again. Thank you.

We are Gold Card holders and have been for some years. We spent our 60th Wedding anniversary at your Marriott Surfers Paradise on Thursday 12 Dec 2013, But to our disappointment we were not able to use our complimentary coupon. We were told all the nights had been taken. As I noticed that there was not many guest at the resort that night, I find that very HARD to believe It cost us a total of $304.59 for a night that should have cost us next to nothing, Really I think we have been RIPPED OFF I dont believe it was of any fault of your reception staff they are only doing as they are told, We have spent many great nights at this resort but I don, t think we can afford many more at this rate.
