Rooms are very outdated and horrible. No windows or aircon in a one bedroom apartment, just like a dark cave in the hallway, got offered a cheap pedestal fan, what a joke. I’ve got nothing positive to say about this place, mould on bedroom roof, dirty bathroom, balcony louvres held together with heaps of cable ties. I only wish I took photos now.

I love staying here in a room with a harbour view and a balcony. So relaxing to watch the boats coming and going. Lovely rooms and friendly staff, perfect position.

They will charge you a ridiculously inflated figure for their outdated rooms and then steal all your money. They have charged the credit card without authorisation and refuse to fix the problem. Disgusted with the STEALING of funds from working families just trying to support their kids in sport. Besides which they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. Wrong phone numbers for bookings. Send incorrect room invoices. Only giving whatever rating because I can’t give a — 1000 stars to this disgusting place full of corporate greed. Stay at the place owned by the guy who runs the Bayswater Bar and Grill. At least he’s a decent human being.

Friendly staff, great location. The apartment is a bit dated but we have a terrific view, King bed and can walk to restaurants and club.

Only our second day here…first stay at the Mantra. The Staff are so friendly and deliver great service. Beautiful view from the unit and verandahs of the boat marina. Very central to quality food and the boat club.

The reception staff are exceptional. Nothing is too much trouble. They are happy and friendly. The room was lovely. I asked for a pool access room which was great. There were some kiddies in the pool at 6am… which did not bother me but might bother others!

The room price for one night was very good and it was comfortable. Great spot to stay if you are going whale watching.

Beautiful location. Rooms were modern and trendy. Well kept with a lovely view. Service was what you would expect from a 5* hotel.

It would have been 5 star for convenience and comfort except if you have a smoker next door you cannot have your balcony door open or sit on balcony without the next door smoke waffling into your room. Even if door shut the air conditioner picks up smoke and brings it into your room. Yet they advertise no smoking. also they mantra claim you have to use credit card for security deposit. As soon as they swipe your card they charge $1.00 for use of card even though no charges used on it that is disgusting. Views over Harbourview good. Location good convenient to many attractions and food out let's walking distance to pier.

Very disappointed at the size of the studio unit. Staff need to make known the details of these units when being booked. Size of a shoe box. 3m x 4m. Approx. Only tea making facilities. Whilst there is a balcony it's very cool to sit out in. No sunshine cool breeze from sea. Only a bed to sit on. No chairs. Asked for an upgrade but none available. Won't be back here again. Motor camp would have better accommodation for the price.

No major issues. The room was clean with a spa. I agree the $200 bond is not warranted. Some of the staff are not engaging. The location is great and the value for money is good. The lack of daily housekeeping is not good but for the money I paid I am not complaining. I would definitely come back.

Yes absolutely stay here if you want a hideously bad bed and dismissive staff. What a joke. Worst mantra I have ever stayed at. Will never be back and will not be recommending them to anyone.

Great beautiful place. Great staff so lovely and helpful, kept our booking even though payment didn't go through, manager called and enquired and kept booking when she didn't need too. Got there and then we were told we were upgraded, winning! Even gave us a late checkout after we had a big night out. Thanks Hervey Bay Mantra for a great hotel experience not seen often these days!

Stay right on the marina! Unit level 5 adequate all facilities and quiet. Car parking a walk away from main buildings and reception. Lift to all floors. Access via boardwalk to shops, cafes and restaurants.

The Manttra Hervey Bay is located in a fantastic location next to the Hervey Bay Boat Club, also only 2 minutes from your room to coffee shops and restaurants, you have great views of the Marina and Fraser Island, my only regret was I wished I could have stayed a week, maybe next time.

This place is nice. Not particularly luxurious, but just nice. My expectations were lower due to the price and I was pleasantly surprised. There's a nice view over the water, easy walks to decent restaurants, and the room was cosy and comfortable. The main negative was the hotel following the backwards trend of charging for internet access, and remarkably slow access at that.

Nice location at the marina, at the Urangan end of Hervey Bay. Not so busy, but enough cafes and restaurants if you just want to stay at the marina, or you can drive or ride a bike to the to of the 'bay if you want.

Close to all amenities and Fraser Island. Staff are friendly and always offering help. Grounds are clean and tidy as the rooms. Restaurants in walking distance and shopping center only 2km away. Perfect family holiday destination.

Mantra offers some decent units to stay overnight, but most important is its central location. Directly overlooking the amazingly beautiful bay, where all whale watch and private boats are anchored. There are also quite few good restaurants, bars, and shops around.

We stayed at the Mantra last Saturday to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary. Thank you to our family for this lovely surprise. We would also like to thank Mantra team for the champagne they gave us on our arrival. Great night.

We're a retired couple, my husband has difficulty walking but we were privided with a ground floor unit, walk in shower and disabled parking. We had a great few days with cafes and restaurants very close by. Nothing was too much trouble…

What a great place to stay. Unit we had was a swim up one with a view of the harbour and Fraser Island in the background. We had heavy plastic glasses provided so we could safely have a drink while in the pool! Restraunts and Cafe nearby with the Boat Club a three minute walk. All very good quality and reasonable. Couldn’t fault Unit 113 at all.

"Hotel rooms" a little outdated — Wi-Fi not included in rate. Balcony practically unusable and very tiny.

Small room with large spa bath. Downside was $200 security deposit staying on my credit card one week after we departed the hotel. Excellent position to cafes and restaurants in boat harbour area.

Great location, and guy who was apparently in Training when we checked in did remarkably well — seemed like an old pro. Air con worked well on a very humid time of year. Very close to many food and drink options, as well as the Boat Harbour for day tours. Recommended for anyone visiting Hervey Bay.

We had to wate 1.5 hours after book in to get our room. Parking was poor no room had to park out on road service young girl at counter would just say we had to pay for Wi-Fi and any other little things. Service was poor. Verry slippery on work ways from rain. For what we got over priced. I think you could do better if you look around. The only person we found who did do good was grounds man but was verry busy.

Room tidy but dated view good. Parking a shambles when full had to park unsecured. Some staff very helpfull others less so. Would we stay again no I think there are many other nicer places to stay and try.

Booked a room for 2 nights and paid for 2 nights, got back late on the second night and my card would not access the after hours entry gate. Sign said use white phone for assistance — no white phone! There was a key pad for reception but answered by a call centre and had to ring it 4 times as they continually hung up on me. Had to wait ages for a security guard to come and let me in and he asked for no identification or proof that I was a guest and let me into my room and said "Is this your room" so therefore security is a worry at this venue. Room was not serviced. When I emailed management to complain got not satisfaction and was told they do not service rooms daily. Will not stay again.

Outdated rooms. Received room key. Went to out room stunk as if someone just smoked a packet of cigarettes. Told front reception and their response was "nothing we can do about it". Rooms are old and outdated definitely time for a renovation and a staff turn over.

We have stayed here previously and it's a lovely spot for the tariff, but this time it lost it's magic. The room was to a clean and tidy standard. Unfortunately the café next door decided to chainsaw a plant out of the garden on the Sunday afternoon invading our serenity with noise and the smell of 2 stroke fuel through the unit. 3 days after check out we are still yet to have the security deposit returned to our account. Sorry, We won't be returning to a Mantra group hotel due to admin policies.

Thumbs up to Aaron & Melissa for going above & beyond for us. We booked our stay for 2 girlfriends through a holiday agent requesting twin beds & no spa. We arrived to find our room had a king bed & a spa. The staff quickly resolved the problem & as they were mostly booked up, they found us a family room at no extra cost & it was absolutely delightful. This is our 3rd stay at Mantra Hervey Bay & we've always had a relaxing and enjoyable time. Well done to you all! We are already planning our next stay next year.

Was lucky enough to have a room with a lovely view of the marina & across to Fraser Island. No free Wi-Fi though which should be a given these days. Cleanliness was a little iffy. Water pipes in shower sounded like a hammer when turning the tap. Couch was very uncomfortable. Could do with a little updating.

All very nice but minimalist customer service is a big let down… first time in 27 years I haven't had my bed made upon my return from a hard day's work… I don't believe in paying an extra $11 for the basic service… not sure whether I will be recommending this place to my 3000+ person workforce. Who wins? Ok for budget airlines like tiger to toe that line… but cheap shot from mantra from my personal point of view…

Our room on the 6th floor was pleasant, clean and quiet, the bed was comfortable, the view from the balcony to the harbour very nice. The hotel is perfectly located for whale watching and Fraser Island tours.
A shopping centre is 2 km away. The premium whale watching on the Freedom III was great.

Fabulous. You can relax on the balcony. Plenty of eating places close by or go whale watching. RSL Club a walk away. Best spot in Hervey Bay.

Booked a 1 bedroom unit with marina views several weeks ago. Our View is of the breakfast/ lunch building & all the airconditioning units on the roof. Can just glimpse the tops of the boat masts over the roof of the building in the way.
SO VERY disappointed & angry after traveling from Longreach for a holiday. Specifically requested marina views. We must have the worst room in the whole place. Be aware if booking at this place.

Booked for 2 night for a queen room after booking I checked the booking from the company that I did it through & that were I saw that this property has a $200 security deposit the only other property that has asked was Oaks Lagoon at Port Gouglas that was only $75 which they never even took out. Our room at the Mantra is very small you don't have any where to put your bags. On this trip we have stayed at Port Douglas, Mission Beach, Sarina Beach, Yeppoon all before coming here & they all had a lot more room some even had a kitchen or a long bench that you could at least make some lunch some even had a lounge to sit on. The views at the Mantra are good the room is clean but small the staff were good at check in. Their isn't a lot to do either.

We were given the wrong room from the type we booked. We ended up with a motel type room when we had booked an apartment. Unable to change as everything fully booked.

No service, parking was limited at the tower I was staying. The room looked worn and amenities lacking. The spa tub and the view over the harbour were good though!

The room design is a bit dated. Our room was for 3, the main bedroom being at the back of the area with absolutely no view and everyone has to go through it to get to the bathroom. The third bed is a couch by day and was not even made up for us, but that could have just been a problem with communication between office and room staff. Someone came along promptly to remedy that problem. The kitchen is large with a stove, dishwasher and large fridge. Excellent.
We have stayed there a few times but don't remember the $200 held as security which we didn't like. They must have had some bad experiences.
It is a shame that a lot of the small businesses are closing around the marina.
I like the location so will be back.

Great location. Room (425) over looked the marina. Well furnished and spacious 1 bedroom apartment. Comfy King bed. Good bathroom with washer and dryer. Kitchen well equipped. Heated pool. Can be little noisy in morning and evenings. Noise coming from restaurants and pool. Lift was out of order one day. We got a great deal on price (first week May) at$100/night. Wouldn't like to pay full tariff…

There was a mix up in our booking with Mantra and after much running around the very friendly and professional Steph at Reception worked it out for us. The apartment represents good value for money. It's comfortably furnished, cozy and well located with ocean views.

We booked an apartment with a view and got a very poor deal. Our view consisted of a palm tree and the wall of a cafe next door, the bar and restaurant have been closed for several months and staff are too busy to help with tours etc. The holding fee of $200 is ridiculous when the room was already paid for online and if one family decides to use the pool bbq, there is no space for anyone else around the pool. We also learned that for the same cost, we could have had a room with an ensuite and spa so very annoyed that we were given a b grade room for an a grade price. Absolutely not worth the advertised rates.

Never book this motel if there is a cyclone coming or you are not sure if they are the exact dates you are able to stay. I realised when cyclone Marcia was up graded that I would not be able to get to Hervey Bay due to flooding, I tried to change my dates and was told that any cancellation of any dates the penalty is the total amount of the accommodation. My total for my stay was $450.00 and that is the amount I would have been penalised. So I paid for a night that I was not able to stay in! Rooms are nice although my table and chairs from the balcony were inside the room with a note not to take them out due to the windy weather, even though on all other balconies the tables and chairs were outside. On leaving I handed in my keys and was told the computers are down I cannot give you a tax receipt. Not willing to negotiate anything.

Terrible I booked a room and requested a water view. I got room 234. The narrow glimpse of the marina came from the balcony. This room seems to get no sun. The smell is that of mildew and damp. I mentioned this to reception. They offered to have the room sprayed but I did not want to breathe chemicals all night and so declined their offer. The receptionist then had no hesitation in offering me another room which I wasn’t expecting but accepted gratefully. Room 630, top floor, beautiful view (my request for a view must have got lost! ). Sometime between 4 and 5pm I flushed the toilet. A constant flow of water continued to run. I tried to fix it. Couldn’t. So called reception. They sent the maintenance person up. A lovely lady who did her best but was obviously unskilled. After a while jiggling things in the cistern the flow was stopped but the problem not fixed. I did not flush the toilet again in fear that I would have to spend the entire evening listening to running water and I had been told that they had a full house. I flushed the toilet in the morning and bingo. Non stop running water! It was a cold night. The air conditioner had hiccups and there was only a cotton blanket that just covered the top of the bed together with a well worn quilt. This hotel is tired and out of repair. I think for management to employ an unskilled maintenance person reflects the problems associated with this property. On departure somewhere between 8.30 and 9am I ask to speak to the manager.

I always try to go to the Mantra, outstanding location, top class decor, absolutely best staff. Try to get a Wotif mystery deal.

Perfect little cheap and quick getaway from Sydney but hotel is a tiny bit rough around the edges! Rooms are becoming dated and the pool area could have been better — doesn't really get the sun at all and only offered limited sunbathing space! Generally though, very nice area and the view of the harbour is stunning. However, there is literally 4 eateries in the vicinity of the hotel to choose from and these became tired very quickly. I just wouldn't recommend Hervey Bay in general as a holiday destination for anyone younger than 30, if you like the beach vibes of places like Byron Bay for example and look for eating out experiences while away. It's all very spread out with no 'main street type area' where one might wonder each night through a choice of restaurants or bars. Ended up spending a lot on taxi's to take us to the surrounding suburbs and most of these merely feaured a bar on a street corner we had been recommended.

Mel at reception was sooooo lovely and helpful. Do want to go back again.
