Other than a messy carpet, nothing to complain. Basic, with fridge, microwave, toaster and cutlery. Clean linen.

Clean comfortable basic and cheap. Close to everything its definitely 2 star but no complaints here.

Great little no nonsense budget hotel that does the job — nice quiet location within walking distance to the Esplanade and cafes, comfy beds. We have paid more for less! Mini soaps smelt terribly cheap and sweet but you sort of expect that for the price. Lots of free parking on the street if you don't get a spot inside (first in first served), easy late check in process, hot showers and clean rooms. Pretty much all we needed.

Location is good. Walking distance to Esplanade and town activities. Rooms were very old. Would be a higher rating, however everytime we left the hotel our aircon was turned off. I'm not paying per night to stay in a sweat box.

Its located near the night markets, so that's good.

Good value for money. City location. A bit weird with vashing mashine as you can use it limited hours (4h) a day.

Good price, near city centre. Free parking. Got a pool, rooms are clean and tidy. Friendly staff.

Laid back and enjoyable. I have paid $$$$ for hotel apartments in worse condition. Sure this place is a little average but we got more than we paid for. 2 bed apartment was nice. Well presented on arrival and friendly staff if we needed anything. Washing machine broke but laundromat with amazing all day breakfast 100m down road.

Although I have done quite a bit of traveling over the years, including numerous hostel stays, this was undoubtedly the most unpleasant experience. Our room was ridden with bugs, had clearly not been cleaned for our arrival (toothpaste from the last guest was caked on the mirrors, and liquid stains were crusted on the sheets and blankets — ironically, the cleaning staff at least made the bed), and the shower leaked into the room no matter how it was positioned. The halfheartedly smashed in "Best Western" sign really made you yearn for those good old days when it may have possibly been a bearable experience. The motel wasn't even in town — it took us 15 to 20 minutes to walk in. With all the cool, low-cost hostels in the area, this is the last place I would ever suggest. P. S. Even the email address they provide for feedback is illegitimate and bounces everything directly back, so don't go looking for help there.

Simple, clean and friendly.

We booked in for Two nights and ended up staying 21. Great position, well equipped room, crisp sheets, friendly staff and a good price. :-)

Lovely place to stay very clean, freshly decorated motel with friendly staff who have great knowledge always happy to help also offering to book tours which was great for myself! great location not far from town, atmosphere was very pleasent I really enjoyed my stay and would defently recommend it!

Room was poorly presented. Not just old and tired, but obviously poorly cleaned. Floor was not vacuumed, very poorly made beds, only one towel provided, no blankets or alternative bedding. Generally smelt like feet. Sheets old and grey, looked like the had been washed but hard to tell due to age and the haphazard room cleaning. Shower recess was mouldy and black around the base. Fridge was marked and rusty on the front. A tangle of extension cords and power boards to the electrical devices. Front counter staff were helpful, but they are not responsible for maintenance or room condition.

Nice and quiet, good place to relax. Great location. Close to Woolworth, the mall, lagoon. The staff is friendly and really helpful. Good value for the money.

CAIRNS CITY MOTEL on LAKE STREET 169 in CAIRNS-AUSTRALIA the worst experience in my life. After 20 minutes in the bed, BED BUGS started biting me! after takeing off the sheets we found huge amount of BED BUGS on the mattress we packed in five min and run away! The next day we've been told by the general manager that she doesn't even think about giving us refound. She wasn't nice at all. Didn't apologize, she only offered us other room but who would ever risk! Overall initially room looked nice but if you look on the sheets you will find blood stains and that is the first sign of BED BUGS, and I'm sure they won't clean or disinfect the rooms, because when we complaint the answer was 'we never had a complaint about BED BUGS, and that is not possible becouse our mattress was literally full of BED BUGS. Would not go there again, never ever!

Not very happy with previous reviews. Booked accomodation for staff member who had to be relocated by 7pm due to violent issues and police attendance at premises. Issues with actually booking in — huge barrier with communication with owner being unable to speak english. Room not clean and property requires maintenance.
