Good service, mostly nice place, but the sheets have stains, pic frames have mold/mildew spots and a/c unit rattles. Room 40a.

We spent 8days in this amazing hotel, warm hearted owener, Frienfly staff, Good accomodation with seaside scenery view, Free renting for books and DVD, No doubt will back again!

Great place. We will revisit when we come down to cairns again.

This is not a service apartmet, and almost everything such as towel replacement and toiletries refill costs you money. The hygiene situation is quite worrying. Though the room prima facie looks clean and tidy, things like the microwave are not cleaned before we move in, and the number of ants in the kitchen is completely terrifying.

I stayed at 201 Lake Street with my partner on 2 occasions in November – December 2016. There is a general atmosphere of poor management and decay about this place, even though it’s only a few years old. It’s located on the noisiest roundabout in Cairns with garbage trucks making a dreadful racket in the morning, cars, buses and trucks honking and screeching all day and half the night and accompanying dirt from the traffic covering the balcony with a layer of grime. These are NOT serviced apartments (despite the price), unless you call a once weekly perfunctory mopping of the floor and changing towels and linen ‘service’. You will NOT get replacement soap, washing up liquid, dishwashing soap, laundry soap, milk, toiletries etc etc and if you ask for these items you will be told to buy your own. However, there are no decent shops nearby. There was grime in every corner of the apartment, the washing machine leaked, the hob light did not work and the hand basin sink was totally blocked on arrival (was fixed promptly). Cooking utensils were minimal, no paring knife, the extractor fan thick with grease, no dish drainer, no clothes drying line or rack, the hot air clothes drier squeaked interminably, the furniture was chipped and dated and the ridiculous sofa had to be seen to be believed; it was almost at floor level and very uncomfortable. Mold in the shower. TV and DVD player did not, or could not be encouraged to work. A few good points ….

Loved staying here! The rooms were gorgeous and the staff were so lovely and helpful. The air conditioning was fantastic and the apartment was really well spaced and included everything we needed. There was also a shelf of DVDs you could borrow from down stairs. Highly recommend for a lovely stay in Cairns!

Stayed for 6 weeks in a self contained apartment. Great location close to the action, consider getting a room away from the road if you do not want to gear drunken antics at 2am some nights. Pool is great and apartment itself was spacious.

Treated very poorly by a very grumpy manager. Pretty much the rudest bloke I have ever had to deal with. No apology when challenged, just made some lame excuse. Wi-Fi was a joke and is more of a nuisance than a service.

Thankyou for a wonderful experience, very clean, safe and close to everything. Any request was accommodated for, lovely hosts we would highly recommend staying here!

We love this place! Staying there again in July. Great location, easy walk to Esplanade and shops. Fantastic staff, very welcoming and accomodating!

Stayed at this place, 18-1-13 till 21-1-13, apartments weren't that bad and neither was the facilities. BUT we got absolutely got ripped off by them. My wife and I absolutely respected the room and all facilities, but low and behold they rip $150 from our credit card because the room "had to be fumigated". Rang them and enquired as to why, came up with some croc about an ash tray being in the room and that we must have been smoking in the room while we stayed there. My wife smoked only on the balcony with the door closed and put the ash tray in the room upon our depatrure to assis the cleaners. Upon inquirey the manager told me that "There was an ashtray in the room and the room had to be fumigated". No amount of assuring him otherwise was accepted or appreciated. I am a Non Smoker. My wife and I appreciate that cigarette smoke is abhorent to those who do not smoke and this is why we took every precaution we thought acceptable to prevent the ingress of smoke into the room. Apparently the (confessed) extensive delay in cleaning the room must have been our fault, and the presence of the ashtray in the room was enough to warrant the room having to be 'Fumigated". May seem a bit petty to some Review readers, but dont blame me when it happens to you for the same or maybe completely different reason. very very poor, 201 lake street.
