Friendly staff, free unlimited breakfast, showers not always clean and small rooms.

Rooms are clean but pretty small! Good storage. The walls and doors are very thin so you hear everything all the time! A good few ppl are here long term so it's not a huge part atmosphere, but everyone is really friendly and easy to talk to! Awesome location.

It was a great experience! I came from spain and I dindt know anything from sydney or Australia, I arrived to the hostel and they helped me to settle, gave me tips of the city and even helped me with info about bank account and jobs!

Good prices. This hostel is not in the city center, but is a few blocks from the King's cross station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My last point — which is not a reflection on the hostel, but rather the guests — is a big turn off: the kitchen dishes were very dirty and unkempt. Pretty gross. The hostel is over all a bit dirty.

Very familiar hostel with nice staff. Room are quiet and the spot is fantastic because close to king cross station and all the parcs around. Breakfast is good enough to wake up in good condition. Thank you guys.

Stayed here back in August for a night as my friend and I were hostel hopping to get a feel of Sydney and Kings Cross. This was the worst accommodation we had in the area. Unfortunately, I was threatened by my roommate for getting off of my bunk to use the restroom. This was because the bunks are metal and creak, so I had woken him up. This was a full grown man who had to be close if not in his early 30s. He cussed at me and told me he was not afraid if I told management about the way he was treating me. I felt threatened and had to switch my room in the middle of the night because they would not remove him from the room. He'd been living there it was obvious by the trash strewn around the room. The other girl in the room said she felt threatened by him as well and had been sharing the room for 3 days before we arrived. It just showed a lack of indecent care for the backpackers to keep someone who threatened women in the hostel. It was also dirty and the upstairs especially was full of trash. Price wise and location it is not bad at all and near a train station and plenty of food. The staff was friendly and did help enough to allow me to switch my room. However, I would not recommend this place for women traveling alone or with other women.

Hey travelers, I stayed in this hostel for totally two months and I helped one of the cleaners for free. After that time of staying and paying for my room the manager wanted me to pay 300$ for 3 nights… 100$ per night… It’s ridiculous! Don’t support that.! But let’s forget all this… let’s start with the positive things about that hostel: The staff (except the manager) is friendly and nice. Sorry but that’s everything positive. The kitchen is dirty and disgusting (cockroaches in kitchen and not cleaned and not working cooking material). You have many cockroaches and two rats on the rooftop. The dorms are small not cleaned and the mattresses are really uncomfortable. Most of the dorms don’t have a working air conditioner or it’s not working. If you want to use the laundry you will get your clothes more dirty back then their were before. So really think about booking this hostel! Cheers.

Kitchen, bathroom, rooms and everything else is always very dirty. Rooms are very small. Stuff is nice. Rooftop and Wi-Fi too.

Staff are very helpful and it's a great location! Rooms are fine, very clean, bathrooms have lovely hot water with good water pressure, and it's usually quiet at night, plus free pizza dinner on Friday which is a great time to socialize!

Room was fine, and manager was good; place has some potential. But atm we wouldn't recommend. Showers upstairs did not work (and windows often left open) (to be fair they did admit this on check in), but it was also quite noisy, despite the curfew. The communal areas were nice though.

Cleanest hostel I have ever been, it is so close to CBD, free breakfast and Wi-Fi were great bonus.

I had a great time at this hostel. I really enjoyed the vibe of the hostel and everyone there was great. I met some really cool people and I'd stay there again, especially for its location and price.

Overpriced hostel that lacks maintenance in a decent area of Sydney. some of the highlights: * DON'T book an airport transfer with the company they recommend — they have no fixed schedule, are not cheaper than others, have overcrowded buses (when they took us, 2 persons didn't fit anymore and had to wait for the next one) and will drive you through most of Sydney for 2+ hours before it's your turn to reach the hostel… happened to me — compared to the 20min train transfer, I would never take this again. From the hostel to the airport it was better but still took ages as we picked up everyone from all over Sydney. * 1 shower for an entire floor and it was broken. Had to go to another floor where water wasn't draining but at least the shower was working. * while you go to the toilet, people from the opposite building could see you — even if there's no one inside there, it's still an idiot idea to have this and there is no way you could close the window, it's blocked. * basic as in totally basic "private" room; window not working, had to block it open with a pole… for 60$ I would expect no luxury but this was below my expectations * dirty kitchen that lacked enough plates and cups… even I have more cups at home and I don't have tens of guests… had to wait for others to finish eating so I can grab their cup. Seriously?!?

It is good for its price and the rooms are clean but the rest is not. We stayed 5 nights and the shower was never cleaned and I had to ask them three times to place new toiletpaper. Also there is only one toilet per floor for a lot of people and kitchen is disgusting. A lot of rotten stuff in the fridge which smelled really bad.

Not too bad. It's relatively cheap, but the rooms don't have air-con. Friendly approachable staff and there's a TV and upstairs area. Free breakfast as well.

The location of the hostel is not that good far from the good locations. At first it seems a backpackers hostel as it's called but you get used to it. There is no air conditioning in the room and it's very hot as you sweat doing nothing. The kitchen is fine also as the toilet but the shower is not that clean I would say it's for backpackers who just need to sleep somewhere.

First experience in the hostel, a little terrified, but in the end I found it very good, good room-mates!

We had a private room with shared bathroom. The room was clean and the bathroom more or less. You can go walking to the important places. It's price is ok for what you get.

Avarage, nothing out of the ordinary for a hostel.

Friendly staff. Great location. Walking distance to CBD, botanic garden and Opera House. Free basic breakfast, movie and pizza nights and cozy common area.

I highly recommend this hostel. The staff is very friendly, it's clean, has free Wi-Fi (which isn't always too fast but it works all the time), the people there are amazing and the price is right.

I stayed 3days, so small (than above photoes) and bit old, no good drain, but clean (never saw cockroach) and cheap! that offsets demerits.

Fabulous small place in a big city, I stayed there 6months and wish stay longer. The staff is very friendly, facilities are clean and meet people comes naturally. :)

Great little hostel, good location, very friendly and helpful staff. Definitely recommended!

Cleanliness did not seem to be a large concern. Some of the common bathrooms had a coating of mildew on the walls, ceiling, and shower curtain. The bathrooms did not seem like they got cleaned thoroughly as hair on the floor and in the drain remained for several days. The kitchen was adequately stocked with the basics. The breakfast was a backpackers breakfast consisting of corn flakes, white bread, jam, butter, and milk. The breakfast supplies were not monitored so they were not replenished and the milk got warm. However, on Sunday, we were treated to delicious muffins in addition to the typical breakfast. The covered rooftop terrace was probably the best part! It was a nice place to relax despite the occasional evening smokers. The Wi-Fi was free and very strong throughout the hostel which was also a huge bonus. Washing powder for the machines was also provided for free. We stayed in a 4 bed dorm and the beds were comfortable but the space seemed a little cramped. We were not there during really hot weather, so the room remained a comfortable temperature. The LED light fixture in our room flickered all night long even though the power was off which was especially annoying for the sleepers in the upper bunks. We told management, but they said they couldn't do anything because it was the weekend. They did however quickly replace the lightbulb in the toilet when I told them it was out. Overall, a friendly staff. Close to transportation and shops.

The service was great. I was able to switch from a twin bed private to a double bed private when one came available. They let me check-in early because I told them that I wasn't comfortable leaving my bags unattended in the lobby all day. Whenever we had questions, or needed anything, someone was happy to help us. Loaned us a towel and since we didn't have any small coins, Salvo trusted us with the towel without the deposit. The comfort of the hostel was nice. Both rooms we had were fine. I like that each one had an ensuite sink which made getting ready for bed and in the morning convenient. The shared bathrooms were fine, but the showers could use new tiles since their floors are peeling. I really liked the quiet. The kitchen and rooftop close after a certain time which is nice because I purposely chose this hostel because it wasn't a party hostel. It is also close to the backpacker area and public transportation. Pros: — Location — Service — Quiet — Cleanliness — Free internet Cons -Shared baths could use new tiles.
