Hostel

The kind of place where the backpackers live. The rooms are therefore very crowded with objects and clothes on the floor. It is not clean. The clientele is very young and disrespectful. Under the age of 21. People do a lot of partying. It's not very mature as an atmosphere. Really clean bad. I saw cockroaches in the kitchen and in the storage with the food. Insects in the bathroom. The employees are friendly (but not always). The only good side: the beds are comfortable. In short, I really do not advise.

What you'd expect for $20 a night. Staff is nice enough but started vacuuming at 6:30 in the morning and you can hear any noise throughout the entire hostel.

Nice spot in Town. Nice kitchen. Nice staff and service. But hallway, rooms and toilets stink. There is carpet.

A good hostel, liked the private sink in the four-man room. The lockers were big enough for my massive suitcase, and the communal spaces were amicable enough.

Location is superb and the staff are lovely. Bit on the small side with the showers and toilets being quite cramped. Free breakfast quite limited but much appreciated. Would recommend.

Friendly staff, clean rooms and bathrooms. You get free breakfast there, nothing too fancy, but hey it's free :) Location is very good: it's a 5 min walk to the next shopping centre (Woolies and Coles) and to Kings Cross station. Good choice!

Good hostel to stay longer but also suitable for shorter visits, free food and people are the highlight. Rooms are clean and fully adequate for Sydney. The kitchen is also mostly clean, only sometimes you can see cockroaches in the room or outside but this is not avoidable in Sydney, no matter which hostel. Here it is still the least.

Clean Showers, nice staff, free food and clean of rooms everyday. The fritch is also clean. There is a TV Room wich is open for 24 Hours. I really enjoy this place.

Nice staff, clean rooms and bathrooms. Wi-Fi is weak, but probably because it's pretty crowded these days. Good choice.

Cleaner thrown away our stuff that was charging on the floor (tablet and phone) while we are in the room. My Tablet has now a dent.

The girl at the front desk was one of the best and friendliest receptionist I have ever attended.
The atmosphere is good, healthy and gives the possibility to meet many people without seeming the school yard.

Good location, friendly stuff but it's hot in the rooms and it's not very clean The location of the hostel is very good. It's in Kings Cross. Natalia from the reception was very friendly. It's a five minutes walk to a shopping center and to the Kings Cross station. I read all the good reviews and I was thinking that hostel is clean. But it isn't. My room was very dirty when I checked in. I told it to the reception and the next day the cleaned all the rooms. The facilities are not very clean but also not very dirty, it's average. The sleep quality was average because it was too hot in my room. The bed was very comfortable. What I didn't like was the free breakfast. It's not really a breakfast. The have the cheapest toast and a few bottles of jam. No butter! When I see on bookingpage that there is a breakfast I expect something else. I will report that to the booking company. I booked one week and I would not go back to this hostel.

Very friendly, home-like environnent. Free breakfast on an already great price is a plus. A little out of the way than other center-districts hostels though.

Stayed over 5 months in total. Great hostel with tonnes of good people. Good for working and for short term party. Just don't whine about the long termers not being friendly if you don't actually engage with any.

Can be a bit loud in the courtyard and more then a few people where drunk when I arrived but the room was clean and washrooms were neat. Reception does close at 8pm, which I was not aware of before getting to the location. After 8 you need to call the number on their door to be let in and I found that you may have to wait as the night manager may not be there to pick up right away.

Had such a great time in the summer house backpackers! Nice and friendly staff, good vibe and cool people. As it is not as big as Base or Nomads, you get to know people easily. Rooms, kitchen and all other areas were always clean. Also, there are fun activities every evening such as free BBQ and burgers, pubcrawls etcetera. Love this place!

They should take more care of the image. Every night there is a family of rats waiting at the Backpacker's door. It's very disgusting. As Backpacker is not bad but subtracts many points from all those rats.

A place full of cockroaches. In the bed beddorm/ toilets/ kitchen. They also have rats in kitchen. Many homeless people on drugs just outside the hostel and also many people in the hostel on drugs. Disgusting kitchen where nobody cares about cleaning. I wouldn't recommend you to stay here. There is other options.

Super hostel staff
The only thing missing is an oven in the kitchen.

Good facilties: amazing TV room, outdoor courtyard, bbq, clean rooms, lockers, good kitchen, free toast and cereal, free bbq sometimes. All in all pretty good.

Amazing Hostel! Full of international, friendly backpackers. Some staying just for few nights, some are staying longer. Nice atmosphere. Feels like home! Coming back for sure.

Not a new flash place, but excellent people, position and activities.
