Stayed here for 4 nights with my young family. The place is centrally located, clean, warm and its furniture quite new. The buffet breakfast is average. Room service takes place every day. I am giving it 5 stars for the above but mainly for its incredibly friendly customer service. Thanks for the experience! We'll visit you again.

My family and I stayed here for Christmas and it was amazing. The staff were incredibly nice especially the guy who brought us the new towels. The receptionists were very welcoming, from when I made the booking, to when I left. The rooms were nice and tidy. The bathroom was clean. And the best part is the buffet. Breakfast was the highlight of my day! Quality food and coffee.

Used to be the old citigate hotel but much better now. Inside is lovely and very comfortable and the rooms are better than say Brighton Novotel which is a lot smaller For those who love Chinatown here is the best place to stay. We also ate here in the night dining room for a conference and the food was very good. The baked goat cheese is delicious Overall a great hotel with lovely staff and excellent rooms and location. 5 mins to central.

Lovely, friendly and very helpful staff! We stayed there with our two boys 3 and 6 and everyone went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was need and tidy and exactly what we expected. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here Feb 20-24 Room 1713 visiting from UK. PROS — hotel is a short walk from Central Station. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Good buffet breakfast selection. CONS — bathroom had no towel rails. Noise from the fridge kept me awake so I switched it off. Ice melted & I woke up to a puddle on the floor. Mopped it up with a towel. Nowhere to hang the wet towel because of the aforementioned lack of towel rails.

Excellent location and attentive service by the hotel staff. Short walk to China town and Paddy's market. Rooms are spacious and there is convenient parking for guests at the attached car park. The room I was in though didn't have much of a view.

Very good attention. Excellent rooms. Excellently located easy access to the train and all bus stops.

The room was below ground level and hot and stuffy. The morning tea and lunch were good with fresh food available. I bought a coffee which was lukewarm. Staff were great.

The Novotel Sydney Central is generally in an excellent location, at the top end of the city, a stones throw from Chinatown and Darling Harbour. The rooms were clean and comfortable, however they are are poorly designed. I was staying in an executive room (17th Floor). Strangely, there is no real room light. There are reading lights above the bed, but these are extremely bright and impossible to use for the intended purpose. The curtain did not fully cover the window, and allowed light to stream into the room directly onto your face in the morning, no matter the positioning. Otherwise staff were friendly, and attentive. Room contained tea and coffee facilities, including a Nespresso machine, which was a nice touch.

The location to very convenient. I was only there for a day but found the staff to be very polite and had no troubles answering my questions about what's happening in the area. Will come back again.

Very nice hotel. It has class and allure. The comfort of the bed is a 7/10. Not the best but not bad either. I’d prefer some more comfortable pillows. The hotel has anything that you would expect from Novotel.

It has an outdoor rooftop pool and a 24 hour gym. The rooms are very nice and clean, and the room service is a good price for what you get (especially the junior meals). The employees are polite and extremely helpful. Also they sent someone up to our room to thank us for staying there and give us chocolate. The only thing I can think of that wasn't so great was the view but that didn't matter to much as I was out of the hotel doing stuff anyway. P. S. They also have people that open the front door for you, which made me feel very fancy and special.

Very nice hotel (5 mn from Central Station) quality service and staff at the top.
I arrived here with a van of 3m high and it allowed me to park it oendant all our stay in their basement.

Excellent hotel of good quality. The restaurant is very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'd stay there again. The atmosphere is familiar and enjoyable. Close to all the attractions.

The staff are extremely accommodating, professional and courteous. Rooms are clean, well appointed and spacious. We had a 6 months old baby and were provided with clean porta-cot and sheets. The restaurant served up really good meals for breakfast and dinner. Wife has food allergies and they were very accommodating also. We would go here again.

Great place to stay. Near Central train station. Walking distance to Darling harbour. Close to China Town. Breakfast is excellent. Staff helpful and welcoming.

Comfortable rooms and reasonable price. Large lounge area. Corridors with rooms seem rather unwelcoming. Could use better lighting and color. Friendly staff. Good food.

The rooms are clean and spacious. The location is a short walk from Central station and close to Chinatown without it being too close. Because of the location, you'll find a lot of affordable food nearby as well as a supermarket around the corner. The car park for guests is confusing. I wasn't able to find anyone at the car park to answer any questions. We kind of had to figure out where the guest parking was ourselves. I noticed a lot of tour buses and tour groups come by this hotel.

Great place to stay. Clean and tidy restaurants, pharmacy, grocery are beside the hotel. Staffs are approachable. Good guest service.

5 Stars for the hotel staff at Reception, 4 stars for the F&B staff. The main food was ok, the cheese platter was generous and worth the $18-. One young lady was attentive, they did have a Lage work crowed however others seemed a little untrained. Over all staff should be congratulated on their polite and positive welcoming vibe they bring to the hotel. I have an Executive room which is large but seems a little run down, no bath which in a suite let along rooms further down the chain should be there.

I was in the Executive Floor, which is at the top. The room was quiet, excepting the man next door with the snores that made the entire room reverberate. Comfortable, large room with decently large telly and a coffee machine. This hotel has no personality, but is close to Central station and Chinatown, so benefits from that. There's a Woolworths supermarket close by for snacks. Wifi was free and decently fast.

Asked for an early check in due to early arrival into the country. Early check in option advertised on website. Was happy to pay the $30 to secure early check in but was told the $30 was only to remind the hotel of our request. No guarantee of early check in at all. Was told to call the day before to see if they would be heavily booked but I said I would be in another country then and could not call. Even if I did call I was told there was no guarantee of securing an early check in. I had to turn up and take my chances yet still pay $30 to notify them I wanted to take the gamble. I explained I had a young family and needed to be 100% assured I had a room to check into upon arrival. They told me to book the night before and pay two nights accommodation. I asked what would happen if I did not turn up the day before as I would not be in the country and I was told the room for both nights would be given a away and I would be charged a nights accommodation for failing to turn up or cancel the reservation. Why offer an early check in service with no intention to provide one? I am an Accor member and never been mistreated this way before by any establishment.

Great place to stay. Staff all very welcoming and helpful. Rooms clean and quiet. Handy to all facilities trains etc. Food delicious especially the lamb shoulder. Liam the best. Thank you for all you did, booking tickets, fixing my phone often and telling us what to do and where to go. Fabulous place to stay.

Novotel is a great place to stay. The staff are friendly and the service is efficient. The place is convenient for a more casual visit to Sydney and is easy to find and remember. The room quality is quite good despite quite the few years behind the hotel. Easily one of the best hotels in Sydney.

Located at China Town. Very friendly staff. Large and Spacious rooms. Buffet breakfast is good as well. Friendly staff. Downside is you are surrounded by tall buildings and have offices and hostels right opposite your window. Rooms with the balcony are good.

The staff at the Novotel are very impressive. They're courtesy and patience front and back of house will have. Me returning for family stays in the future.

Convenient location, 5 minute walk from central station and Haymarket. Clean room, pretty tiny bathroom but comfortable bed.

Stayed there last November on my birthday. The location just so good to be in the center of the city. Breakfast was great. Service was amazing. Friendly staffs and also they gave me a champagne as well on my birthday! I would definitely come back.

At the Novotel for a conference. The facilities are good, clean. The lunch was an interesting mix but all cooked well.

My experience was mixed, some staff lovey some rude. I booked a king single room but was given two doubles when I enquired about this the lady abruptly told me I only get what is available because I booked through an external site. To me this hotel was no better than hotels at a much cheaper price. It was nothing special so I would not go again. The Foxtel channels were limited so if you thought you were going to watch a movie you thought wrong. The pool was nice but the spa was the same temperature as the pool. I am also waiting on a pending credit card charge which seems to be taking a while to return to my account which I have not experienced with other hotels.

All the staff are very friendly and the rooms were in great condition. Personally I thought the more expensive room that we stayed in would have a few more luxuries to it, but overall a very nice place to stay.

Good location, near central station, Haymarket and Darling Harbour. Unfortunately, very few non-Asian food options (it is in China town) if you don't feel like walking to Darling Harbour. Rooms were clean and service good. The swimming pool on the upper floors was a good thing during warm days.

Excellent service and very clean. They included breakfast for no extra charge. The hotel is further away from the cbd than some others so not too hectic but still easy to walk or get the free bus on George St. Close to China Town so plenty of restaurants nearby.

Good location close to central, china town for eats and not too far from darling harbour. Very children friendly. Breaky in the morning was included and quite good with the kids loving the jam donuts. The rooms were good size with 2 queen beds great as the kids were included in the price. $5 happy hour drinks 5-7pm.

Having to call and chase up my deposit for over a week. This place needs to get its act together. Rubbish service with incompetent staff.

Anitha Black who handles the conference bookings is absolutely fantastic to deal with, a real asset to the company. I recently booked a conference and was so impressed with how professional and helpful she was. I would strongly recommend holding your next function at the Novotel Sydney Central.

When we'd go to watch something at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, we'd always book at the Novotel Rockford. At the end of our stay, I'd always swear NOT to book at the Rockford because the hotel is just bad (bad staff, bad breakfast, rooms too small, etc). I've now found a new place to stay: Novotel Sydney Central. From check-in to check-out (including post check-out), staff are consistently nice, friendly and always with a smile. The breakfast food buffet maybe have the same stuff you'll see all around Australia but they have a pancake maker. You can opt to have made-to-order eggs and coffee. Rooms are big. Bed is nice and firm. Pillows are good. Wi-Fi is free to guest only (Rockford doesn't even give you free Wi-Fi) and limits to up to 4 wireless clients per account. The check-in staff was more than willing to give us additional wireless login account (even though we didn't ask for it). Check-in staff even gave us free complimentary drinks vouchers. For no reason at all! FRIENDLY and NICE! G'bye Novotel Rockford! The downside is the size of the elevators (how you can fit "16" people in a tiny lift, I have no idea) but I'm not going to take away a rating (you're not spending time in the lift).

I had the BEST time here! I had been treated to a night at this wonderful hotel by an organisation I was entertaining just around the corner and I really want to share my wonderful experience here. Firstly, the staff — I am not much of a Sydney girl, so to be here alone, I felt incredibly safe, in the prime location and in wonderful hands. All the beautiful people running this hotel; from working on the desk, taking luggage to storage to the cleaners, were so friendly, approachable, helpful and always acknowledged me by simply saying hello or asking if they could help. The beautiful ladies at the desk remembered my name when it was time for me to order a Taxi which was a lovely surprise! The gentleman who took my luggage into storage, was very considerate on how to handle my luggage and recognised it was fragile and moved it to a safer location on the trolly with no questions! One lovely gentleman also could see I was waiting around for an appointment in the lobby and he came over to check in and offer that I am more than welcome to stay in the building until I had to leave, and also offered me a lovely fresh apple from the counter while I do so! So thank you beautiful people for keeping a big smile on my face. You're wonderful. Second, the rooms. They were impeccably clean and well presented. I was of course very excited to be here and to some how have been booked a king room with two massive beds was just a huge bonus (I may have danced on them in excitement, sorry).

I stayed here for two days. Ample public parking is next door for the guests. The hotel was well appointed and maintained, and it's in a decent location, central to all Haymarket. I would definitely come here again.

Had a date night with my beautiful wife on the weekend, got some laughs watching some comedy at the Factory Theatre and then had some drinks with a few friends at Gasoline Pony in Marrickville. Stayed the night at Novotel Sydney Central, have always heard good things about this place from my clients, but hadn't stayed over for a while. The newly refurbished rooms were very comfortable and well fitted out, bathrooms were elegant and the bed was just right. Buffet breakfast is one of my favorite things and I was not disappointed, good coffee and a sweet pastry always leaves me feeling good. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. A good experience, liked it and would happily return.

Stayed 2 nights so I could go to TEDx Sydney, and the location was very central, although Google Maps kept confusing me by calling it Citigate. The reception staff were lovely and made every effort, including arranging a hot chocolate option in lieu of coffee for the second night. They have a pillow menu, but the pillow I requested wasn't available. No problem there, except housekeeping didn't call me til after 9 to let me know, and with an early start planned I could've done without being woken (I had figured they'd forgotten). Two other useful things to know: there's a taxi rank right outside the door, if you need it, and being in the heart of a student district there are plenty of budget eating options within very close walking distance.

This place was horrible, wasn't very clean Staff not friendly at all. When I arrived at the novotel they didn't have my booking, because I booked through expedia, lucky I had a confirmation letter to say that I had booked and paid up front. I also forward this email to the lady on the reception. Weeks later the novotel took a large sum of money from my account saying I havent paid. I have been calling and talking to numerous people and I’m still waiting for my money to be refunded into my account. Not very impressed with this place and refused to stay here again. I advise you all not to stay here.
