It is affordable and a central location with easy access to the city. However, my room was a little too small. It felt almost claustrophobic. Bed was comfy though and the rooms are serviced every day.

I have to recommend this motel as its really good value for money. I have read some of the other reviews and one of the complaints was that the rooms are small, yes they are but they are adequate, and you pay for what you get. You could stay down the road for nearly twice the price. The rooms are clean and newly painted. The grounds are nicely kept and there are some tables and chairs out the front you can use. There is an AC in each room and toilet and shower. I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I picked this place because it’s the closest to the Mater hospital. I have been here for five days, so I can visit my wife. It’s a nice easy walk to the hospital and there is also a good pub on the corner for dinner. Its not the Hilton but I feel value for money it’s a five star rating from me.

Bath very run-down, and when we arrived a small cockroach (? ) crawled across the ground. Otherwise relatively clean. No desk or anything like that. The gentleman at the reception, on the other hand, was super friendly!

Very convenient location, central for public transport with shops/cafes etc nearby. Staff are very friendly and welcoming.

Tried to charge us $30 for an extra bed that we didnt ask for that was a fouton that was already meant to be in the room and parking was double what we were quoted on the phone, room was also not clean had to wipe the mirror down myself.

Absolutely beautiful place to stay. Easy to get to bus straight to luna park. Kids were happy. Definitely will be returning.

The North Shore Hotel is good for a short stay (1-2 nights). It is affordable and a central location with easy access to the city. However, the rooms are extremely small. They try to keep it clean but it has many chips, scratches and mould in the bathroom. Also the blankets and bed sheets are very itchy. Overall it resulted in an average stay.

Great place so handy to everything beautiful surroundings very accommodating staff helpful and service with a smile. Affordable and tidy clean rooms. Will definitely be back.

Rooms not too big, and it's very expensive for the services with the same price you can rent an apartment full furnished. A good point is the location, very near to the center, harbour bridge and opera house, around there are a lot of restaurant, bus stops and trains station.

Terrible. There is little to no parking for the hotel. When we asked the receptionist where the parking was she pointed to the street and said somewhere there. The bathroom has moulde in the shower and is that ill built you cannot use the toilet without opening the shower door. In the bedroom several areas have carpet removed or it is coming up. The Queen bed is two singles with a fitted sheet over the top and overall the room is a disappointing standard. I would not recommend staying at the hotel. Me and my partner stayed the week of 7 Mar 2016 for 1 night.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone as the customer service is rubbish. I wanted to cancel was told of additional cancellation charges. Sink in room was not working. Remote control for TV ran out of batteries. Staff does not release the contact details of manager. The property manager at reception says sorry for everything but does not realise the genuine queries. No Wifi … Extra parking charges. Cockroaches in lobby and in wardrobe… No professional approach. Very disappointed.

No hot water for shower, complaint and complaint, eventually offered us to shower in the other room downstairs but the house keeper lied that the whole street got no hot water! So frustrated that we had to bring everything and go down stairs for a shower. Won't recommend it as hot water is a basic requirement.

Extremely disappointing reception service, my wife made a booking for 3 nights and I called to reconfirm and some lady named Karen answered the phone and spoke very rudely, totally unacceptable so I immediately hung up and cancelled the booking right away… if the reception is that bad how worst would be the the service in there! Pretty glad that I called and got the chance to know how awful the service is before having to experience it.

Stayed couple of nights with family here. Friendly courteous staff, perfect location — close to all amenities, St Leonard's park is just opposite, enjoyed my runs both days. Downside is internal, carpet is stinky & old, rooms are small & beds in deluxe room are not adjoining, fridge was constantly grunting causing disturbance to sleep, toilet & shower facilities are Ok.

Awfull room stunk of mould, room wasn't cleaned before us going in, dryer didn't work Tv didn't work 90% of the time, every night my daughter woke up with a wet patch I'm guessing from a leak in the roof owners didn't really care on the last night they didn't even bother to set up my daughters bed but charged us for it would never stay again.

Cheap cheery comfortable. Great position.

Only minor things bothered me like the toilet being seat being difficult to use and impossible to stay up on its on. But this place has clean rooms and friendly staff.

Lovely historic building. 20 minutes walk to North Sydney train station. Bus stops (both ways) less than a minute's walk. Rooms are a little run down and in need of some TLC. In my room the shower plug smelled pretty bad and the bathroom fan sounded like it was going to fall though the ceiling! Bed was comfy. Rooms are serviced every day. Tea, coffee and milk restocked every day. Less than half the price of the bigger more modern hotels. I'd stay there again.

Not very sound proof rooms. Shared boarding house next door and they liked to party all night. Room dank and needed repairs. Don't be fooled regarding parking. Parking is about 3 buildings away in a unit complex car park.

Had a mould all over the bathroom and the bed was 2 singles that they put together too make a queen. You would be sleeping and roll into the middle of the bed and having to push the singles always back together. Loved the location close to the train station and if you wanted to walk to the bridge it was about 20 mins.

What a crap hole! Sounded like water was in the walls (it was so loud), there was no soap in the bathroom, TV remote didn't work, people next door were ridiculously loud so couldn't get any sleep, shower floor was slimy, room smelt bad and the bed had dirt on it… Yuck! Wouldn't even let me dogs sleep in this place.

I had to book some friends into a Motel near our home for the weekend, together with their 8yo daughter for two nights in a family room. We chose this Hotel for location and price and what a surprise. The fridge had clearly visible mould (due to the lighting) as did the bathroom. The room itself hadn't been cleaned properly in months and the noise from neighbours kept their daughter awake both nights. Staff completely indifferent to the complaints and infact, suggested that they were fussy? And we thought Fawlty Towers was a TV show!

My family and I stayed with the North Shore Hotel for over a month. During that time we came to know the staff very well; they were friendly, obliging and went out of their way to make the stay a very nice one. The hotel itself is charming with lovely features, homely and comfortable, and has a very relaxed feel… and the proximity to everything is just Grade A. We would not hesitate to recommend this establishment to family and friends, and will definitely be staying here again. We have loved our stay at the North Shore Hotel.
