Best place ever. Quietly away from the noise and located in Sandy Grounds. Who needs 5 star hotel when you have this hidden treasure. Thank you Ann and thanks for bringing Layla ❤️

We were so lucky to find Edward’s Inn! The location is superb, right across from the beach. The hosts are welcoming and kind, always available if we need something. The room is tidied up every day and very comfortable. We cannot recommend this Inn enough!

I can usually be forgiving, but this place I’d say to steer clear of it.
We stayed in 2 different rooms (I’ll explain later). Both had kitchens — this is necessary, because there are no worthwhile restaurants nearby, thus an $18, each way, taxi ride. BTW: make sure to tell the driver you are NOT from a cruise ship, otherwise the taxi price goes up. If you have a rental car, then add one star to my rating.
The lobby is third world. The rooms are decorated in a 1970’s style. They are clean and look to be recently painted. Upstairs balcony view is nice, but below there is clutter. A lad helped us with our luggage upstairs (we tipped $2). Our original room’s toilet refused to flush. I reported this to the manager. She moved us to another room in a curt way, with minimal words nor explanation. I assume the toilet was an ongoing problem and she was frustrated. Well, so were we, as we had just unpacked!
The rooms were sizable, with haphazard wiring and reluctant water pressure offering only warm water.
When leaving Edwards, I carried my luggage down. In passing, said “Good morning” to the innkeeper (the one who was surly and had us change rooms). She did not meet me in the lobby. Taxi was waiting. I finally had to seek her out, then told her I owed her $2 for bottled water. She said I owed her $6 – that we did not pay the young man enough to carry the luggage up! We discussed this briefly. She concluded that I was "just trying to take advantage of an old Black woman.

I travel the world and mainly the islands. This was hands down my best experience ever. I travel full time so I don’t usually stay at the four season or ritz. But this place beats them hands down on experience if you immerse yourself and are friendly. The family Ann and little Caleb omg. They hung the moon. Ayanna was so helpful and willing to accommodate. I met the whole family hung with them half the night and wouldn’t trade that evening for a night at the four seasons. Their friend loaned me a car didn’t even get my name to take my boys to this rick to Cliff jump. They shared their life with me on the island without hesitation. Gave me a ride to the ferry the next day as well. Wow who does that? What a great family and place to stay. It’s about the experience. I travel vs vacation. So maybe it’s different for me but wow never ever have I had a better experience. I took 56 flights last year to give you Insight to how much I travel. I only say this to emphasize my review as it’s not a one time trip a year I take. I experience a lot. So this review shall carry a lot of weight I hope.

Fortunately, we were able to get the last accommodations at Edwards Inn. We had a ground level corner suite overlooking the salt pond. The exterior decks had been recently re-tiled and a staff member was working to improve the small garden/zone between the building and the pond. There was no noise from his work and it will be an improvement when completed. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen/dining area efficient with a full-size refrigerator and stove.
As in all West Indian villages, you can expect some dog barking, rooster crowing, and occasional music, but nothing interrupted our sleep.

Great place to stay, staff very friendly and helpful, rooms very clean, beds very comfortable. Approximately 50 meters from the beach, water calm, no big surf. We stayed a month. No issues.
The building is dated but they are continually making improvements.
Edward Inn is in the village of Sandy Ground with a mix of local people and business's so expect to get a wake up call from a rooster or run into the odd goat. People are very friendly.

If you want something posh and exclusive look elsewhere. This is a family run establishment that is a bit battered around the edges but it's clean and everyone is friendly. It reminded me of my days in hostels in Costa Rica. There are a bunch of restaurants and bars just across the street at the beach so if all you want is to hang on a beach getting drinks and swimming this fits the bill. However, if you want to explore the island you need a car. Luckily they rent cars as well as rooms. The cars are also a bit battered and I believe saw hurricane Irma but mine ran well and I didn't worry too much about driving on the rougher roads because it has seen things. Overall I loved my experience here and wished I had stayed longer. I love the laid back vibe and friendliness of the locals and the other guests here. Oh, and last but not least was the formidable Ann, the mother of the owner who once was the carnival Queen.

We landed only to find our hotel reservations on the eastern part of the island had been cancelled by the hotel while we were enroute. It was overbooked but did not attempt to re-accommodate us. After a few phone calls, we found the family-owned, Edwards Inn. The Edwards made certain we weren't without accommodations over the holidays. Sandy Ground is not our usual vacation area on the island, but our choices were limited and holiday prices were high. After viewing the uninviting lobby, it was a delightful surprise to find our junior suite had a fully equipped kitchen (full-sized stove and refrigerator), large, tastefully decorated bedroom and bath (shower) with a balcony. Lots of comfortable chairs in the bedroom/sitting area. The balcony did have a view of the salt pond on one side and the public road on the other, plus the neighbouring homes. It was quiet during our stay. The hotel is across the street from the renowned Johnno's which was closed for the holiday. The location is walking distance to beach bars/nightclubs and restaurants. It is situated on the salt pond and across the street from the beach (access through public parking area across the street and other establishments up and down the road). A car is needed to go grocery shopping or to sightsee, but it can be arranged by the hotel. A local (take-out) roadside barbecue featuring very good ribs and chicken is right next door.

We really felt welcomed by the local family owners who seem to be planning further upgrades for their property. A clean apartment with good Wi-Fi and TV. Close to beach, 1 block away. Small shop on site. Car hire on site, good value and easily arranged. Kitchen well equipped for complete self catering although we only used in for breakfast. Many local eateries within walking distance. Felt safe at all times. Peaceful small town, more noise from chickens than traffic! I would go there again. Not for anyone expecting "luxury, could be anywhere, corporate" hotel, support local business and we loved it.

Note this is now called ‘Edwards Inn & Villas’. We loved staying here. It is basic and a welcome break from the usual hotel environment. It was immaculately clean, very spacious, provided everything required for self-catering, has a great location, and is owned/run by a lovely family. There is a very small shop in reception that has the basics (water, milk, etc), and there are a range of restaurant options on the beach opposite. They sorted out a hire car for us (a must if staying on Anguilla), gave us useful advice, and were very welcoming hosts. We stayed here for 3 nights and were sad to leave. The aircon works well, as does the Wi-Fi, and it was comfortable. One of the showers was temperamental on the last day, but nothing to complain about.

Low key, budget friend rooms that are centrally located on the island in the Sandy Ground area. Room (205) was large, comfortable and clean. Equipped with kitchen and private veranda. A/C and TV. If you’re looking for fancy, this isn’t it.
As of June 2019, they are working on improvements for the property, which doesn’t affect the room itself, but doesn’t make for inviting grounds. It had running hot water, a toilet that worked, comfortable bed, plenty of seating with an eat-in kitchen. For the price you pay, the value is fair. I’d stay here again. Not to mention, it’s located within walking distance to half a dozen bars/restaurants. 3.5 rating is about right, not very good, but good to average. I’m low maintenance, so this worked well.
