Myself, my son and daughter ate here this week and the food and service was excellent. Cannot fault the food, it was delicious and plentiful and I would highly recommend. The service by a lovely bar lady was first class. Friendly, warm and welcoming atmosphere. We will be back on our next visit to Llandovery. (cannot comment on rooms as did not stay here)

Business owned for twenty years, lovingly refurbished four or five years ago, with blood sweat and tears I imagine. Cosy, friendly, comfy rooms, generous food portions, good coffee, outdoor seating, Wi-Fi, gin selection, lovely cakes. Vegan and gluten free options, dogs allowed. Support independent and local ☺

My wife an I stayed in May and paid for the loft room which was the largest.
All I can say is that this was one of the worst beds I have ever slept in. The mattress is awful and not fit for purpose. If you have to put a mattress topper on, then you know that there is a problem with the mattress. JUST BUY A NEW MATTRESS!
We informed the management that we could not stay for the second night as the mattress was so bad. When we asked if we could be refunded for the second night, we were told that they would have to speak to the owners, who were away on holiday.
Several months later with no reply from either management or owners, I am now writing this review.
All I can say is, don't pay up front, (as was requested on arrival) and if you have a complaint, don't expect a response.
BEWARE!

The advert for a chef should have warned us, food was oily and the oil needed changing. Pierogi swimming in oil, hunters chicken and chips OK, too much oil on salad.
The bar person was lovely and frindly.

Wow what amazing food we ate here last night! large portions and reasonable prices too. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Nice cosy pub with great atmosphere. Highly recommend.

A relaxing room in a delightful restaurant, in a small market town in a beautiful country well. Worth a visit.

The most amazing food and coffee. We come here every Sunday. The owner and staff are wonderfully polite and fun.

A little hidden gem. Beautifully decorated quirky place with an interesting menu and delicious food.

We had a lovely meal here a couple of weeks ago. We had olives and feta to start and the surf and turf platter for main — both were very good. Vito is an excellent host too! Great atmosphere and a relaxed, cosy feel to this newly refurbished Inn.

We stayed here for the weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We chose the bear with rooms as we wanted something different, a place to "unplug" and relax. Village is small, but friendly. We happened to be there when the Celt music festival was on, which gave the village a vibrant feel. Rooms were great and clean, food was amazing — breakfast is the best I've had in a long time. Great location within village to walk to most other venues. Team at the bear were very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended! +1
