Probably the worst pub experience I have ever had. The lady behind the bar was the rudest, most customer unfriendly landlady I have ever had the misfortune of coming across. We were a group of couples, numbering around 14 in total, and looking to enjoy an afternoon of drinks and pub pool. But the blonde witch behind the bar had other ideas for us, and because we complained she threw us all out. We proceeded to have a great night in Usk, enjoying the Glen yr Afon hotel bar/restaurant and the Mad Platter. I would highly recommend these two venues but would advise against venturing into the Cross Keys Inn at all costs.
The Cross keys in Usk, it is a fantastic old pub with history, AND an amazing B&B, the room was lovely and clean, the owners lovely and friendly. Food… amazing! Always Hot and delicious. Breakfast was really really great with lots of coffee, juice and just one of THE best cooked breakfasts. Highly recommend this fab old pub. It has history, which for us makes it warm, interesting and quaint. It even is reported to have a ghost-however the only spirits we saw were Jack, Gordon and Captain Morgan!
