Just wanted to say that we had a really good meal last night. The Staff are all very friendly & helpful. Nice & cosy Restaurant or bar area with great beer garden.

Went there for my daughters 50 th birthday we had the best food very tasty well presented the 2girls who waited on us nothing was any trouble thank you so much will be there again.

Just had the best ever Faggots with Peas and Mash. Amazing food and service.

Excellent meal on 19/1 for my wife’s 65 th. Superb presentation, great quality and knowledgeable and welcoming staff, a true hit and a leader in food, atmosphere and staff.

Went for a Christmas meal last night and would really recommend. The food was great, really reasonably priced and the service was excellent.

I’ve been staying here at The Castle on and off for a few weeks whilst working locally.
The accommodation is very comfortable, all the staff are lovely and friendly and welcoming.
Best of all the food is amazing.
I’m working my way through everything on the menu and it has all been outstanding.
And the beer is very good too 😊

Food is excellent, Sunday dinner was gorgeous, actual proper beef for a change and not cut wafer thin, proper cuts if meat.
Whole experience was a breath of fresh air, dropped lucky without booking but will definitely make the 30 Mile trio again.
Also very clean and staff are so friendly.

The basket meals are absolutely amazing for £5. Definitely recommend and the chicken goujons are huge.

Had takeaway Sunday lunch today. Pork belly and my husband had beef. Meals were great, plenty of meat and veg. Couldn't fault it. Thanks guys. Will definitely come again.

Visited last night with my husband and the food was gorgeous (the pulled pork bon bons were to die for! ) We returned today with my mother in law for lunch and sat in the garden enjoying the sunshine. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. Booked again for Saturday night, I think we have found our new local! We can’t believe we haven’t tried here sooner. X.

After living in Usk for 4 years my wife and I decided to visit The Castle this evening for the first time. It's safe to say we have been missing out! What a brilliant pub. Great food, Courteous staff with very attentive service and fantastic value for money. We will definitely be returning. Thank you.

Great Value for Money. Clean and quiet even in a front facing room. £4 a pint cheapest pint we had all night! Hosts were lovely. We would stay again!

Excellent food every time, Matt is an amazing chef, we have eaten at the castle Inn for parties and just tea and now enjoying the take away. Would definitely recommend, lovely food. Amazing.

We had four takeaway meals lunchtime today and they were excellent. Not forgetting the free apple crumble to follow. I would definitely recommend them.

We stayed one night in a dog friendly room. It was a lovely room. The bar area where we could take the dog to have something to eat was lovely. Everyone one was friendly and the staff were amazing. I would highly recommend staying there.

Just returned albeit a night early after a lovely stay with family whom live locally, on arrival there was an unpleasant smell backing up from the basin in the bathroom the room was clean and cosy but very cold on the first night due to not being informed about the central heating thermostat and no heating & unfortunately the bed in room 3 was very uncomfortable and could feel the springs (hence our early departure) the heated towel rail was not working and having no room service on sunday meant our towels were damp! The breakfast I must say was excellent and presented beautifully, we would have no reservations in staying again in the future but hope the management can resolve these couple of issues prior?

This is a lovely village pub. There is a good selection of snacks and bar meals from as littlte as £5. The evening meals have a good menu selection and are reasonably priced. There is a good selection of beer's. Lagers and some cask ales. There is a beer garden out the back that catches the sun with plenty of outdoor seating. The service is excellent and is well worth a visit.

We found this little gem by accident. And what a treat it was. Beautiful quaint old Inn.

We had a lovely family meal here. The food was good and the staff helpful.

Personally, myself and my family’s meal was good although the same cannot be said for a couple next to us. The woman had ordered herb crusted cod over kale and greens and what she received was clearly not cod nor was it over any kale, only wilted green beans. The woman complained to which the chef about her disappointing meal who then replied by asking her to leave. Other members of staff apologised on his behalf and made excuses for his behaviour until, once we had said we’d write a bad review on the internet the chef then came to fleetingly apologise to the woman. Though we had a good meal and service, the customer treatment we witnessed did spoil our evening. Will not be returning.

Nice beer garden, good lunch. Stopped off for a light bite and a drink for lunch, plenty of pubs in Usk and I'm sure the others are worth a try as well. Here at the Castle Inn we had their basket meals each for a £5. Very good value, lovely chips and fantastic service (everyone seemed so friendly). Very much recommend this place and it's a lovely town with free parking.

Great beer garden and drink selection, I did not dine but will happily go again to eat and drink there! A lady on the bench oposite commented that on using the restroom, the availability of deodorants and cosmetics was an example of how places like this should be.

We celebrated my husbands retirement here on 1st June, along with 80 family and friends. Matt and Charlotte could not do enough to ensure the evening went well, nothing was too much trouble. The hot and cold buffet was perfect and everyone commented on the food. Special mention to Di, Herbie and Meg for being fab behind the bar. Thank you so much.

Had lovely evening meal last night & breakfast this morning — all staff were friendly & helpful. Shame it was thunder & lightning this morning as was hoping to explore Usk — so will have to come back.

Great selection of beers. Food was delightful, and great service considering we were there rather late. Really recommend.

Had a meal there on the 04.04.18. One of the best meals I've had in a long time Fast friendly service, the staff are friendly and chatty, they don't just walk past and ask how the food is, just as you shovel a mouthful in. The new menu is reasonably priced, they also have a budget menu that looked just as good as the main menu.

We came for a one night stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was lovely and clean and comfortable. We had club sandwiches for a late lunch when we arrived which were more than adequate. Came down later to the bar for a few drinks where we felt very welcome b4 going into the restaurant for dinner. We thoroughly enjoyed it. 3 courses which didn't disappoint. Good nites sleep and ended with lovely breakfast which was well worth the money. Overall an excellent stay. And we will be back. Staff were all lovely and welcoming.

Visited here on a rainy Saturday evening with no booking. Luckily the hostess was able to accommodate us and we were shown to a table. We were served relatively quickly given how busy they were. We had starters (crumbed brie and black pudding with poached egg) which were great, followed by our mains (belly pork and rib eye steak) which again was great! We finished off the meal by sharing a scrumptious carrot cake. All in all, I can only say that I highly recommend The Castle Inn.

We went there for a wedding reception and the staff were extremely welcoming and accommodating. The food was really great too and they even opened the kitchen earlier for us to eat before 6. I would recommend it for anyone looking to stay in the area. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because of the particularly intimidating glares and stares from the locals propping up the bar when we arrived, but thankfully the restaurant areas are completely separate.

Excellent value, large attic room in a pub on Usk's beautiful square. Quirky with low beams. Friendly atmosphere.

An impromptu decision to visit the Castle Inn after dropping our daughter to her prom near by. So glad we did! Couldn't ask for a nicer, more friendly place. Amazingly friendly greeting and prompt service in a delightful setting. The Castle is under new management (4 weeks at the time of writing) and if their quality of food is to go by at this initial point in time is anything to go by, then this place is going to become very popular. The food was delicious and very efficiently delivered. Presentation was excellent. Sometimes, spur of the moment decisions always turn out for the best and I'm so glad we made the right decision to visit this great place. Wish the management every success in their new adventure.

Clean, comfortable room. Lovely breakfast. Stayed here whilst attending a wedding. Just remember it is above a pub so if you don't like noise at night, bring your earplugs!
