Very good menu, excellent quality food served by well trained staff in delightful restaurant and grounds. Well worth the effort to find this gem in the Welsh countryside.

It's an amazing place, just love the location, set in the countryside. Hospitality secocond to none. The food is the best I have ever tasted.

Treated ourselves to dinner here tonight. No words! Everything was just amazing from the first hello to the final goodbye. Superb food, amazing wine and service on another level. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful rooms, afternoon tea with homemade biscuits was a lovely experience, wish I brought my book because I could have sat in the peaceful lounge all day, my partner and I have been to many Michelin star restaurants and it's not often that a vegetarian is so well catered for, too often an afterthought with the same ideas being used at many different places, a real breath of fresh air. The only things I can think of that would push my experience into an impeccable 5*, would be a small tour of the ground to be offered at arrival, some sort of after dinner entertainment, an explanation of what was actually on our plates, a few times we had a course arrive and then our waitress leave immediately, and a more formal menu at breakfast, I can understand that the finest ingredients cost more but I was not made aware that I would be charged the same amount for my single piece of bacon and poached egg as I would have if I ordered a full English. Overall the only things stopping me giving 5 stars are easily changed, I'm sure we will be visiting again in the near future and I suggest anyone reading should visit also.

Our 20th Anniversary celebrated at our favourite restaurant. It was like a touch of the Med. Sitting outside sipping beautifully chilled wine. The veal was excellent as was the baked hake. Thank you Susan and Brian for making this so special an occasion. Hope to visit again soon.

We stayed 3 nights with the tasting menu for each, the chef put on 3 different menus for us especially and all were fantastic, the staff are very attentive, room perfect for our stay and food and setting fabulous. Would recommend to anyone willing to listen.

Superb Welsh country hotel, fantastic atmosphere and a great place to stay. Wonderful scenery and excellent service. I highly recommend.

We had a fine gastronomic experience in a relaxed setting. We had pre dinner drinks in front of a roaring fire in the lounge and were surprised by the delicious selection of amuse bouche that suddenly appeared. The seven course tasting menu with wines chosen by the chef was truly excellent in every way. We stayed overnight with our dog in the room (permitted) and also had a sensational breakfast the following day prior to a memorable local walk. It’s not hard to see why Tyddyn Llan has a Michelin star!

We had a Sunday dinner and were very disappointed. The food was pub quality — starters were underwhelming, duck confit for main was terribly over salted, deserts were fine. They forgot to bring the tea we’ve ordered with desert. We had reservation for 7 people and 1 person got ill and couldn’t make it, yet we were charged 20£ no show fee. Definitely not Michelin star quality — you’d get better quality food in livelier atmosphere in a pub.

A beautiful setting with pleasant gardens. Unfortunately the first impressions on entering the restaurant were not good — a poor hygiene rating and an overwhelming smell of cat urine. Trust me — as a vet I can't believe that it was anything else and unfortunately that pervaded my senses. The food was very good indeed but the decor also detracted from that — very chintzy and more dated than classic. There's a balance to be found between classic and dated and it tends to be related to cleanliness and crisp finish. This place should invest in a refurbishment and stepping it up a gear. Much as I love cats, I do not enjoy the odour of cats. Furthermore, while I dislike obtrusive music, the only sounds to be heard in this place were whisperings of diners and the occasional clink of cutlery. Some subtle background music would make for a much better ambience. I desperately want this Welsh Michelin starred restaurant to succeed, but based on the venue I would've been happier to take my meal as a takeaway than suffer the excruciating silence and odour of the restaurant.

I phone to book and I am told that there is no more room, gold of the place there were (checked 10 min. After appeal) unacceptable.
