Stayed with you last night for a late birthday celebration. Absolutely lovely place with great staff and comfortable rooms. Think as things have started to get back to normal, everyone in the pub part was really upbeat and enjoying themselves. It was a lovely atmosphere! Breakfast was delicious too! Thanks for a great time!

8 of us turned up without booking, the restaurant was closed but they opened it to accommodate us, great service and thank you very much, it made our family gathering very special.

Friendly staff. Good selection of beers at a reasonable price. Good menu with a wide range of dishes to choose from.

Staff lovely. Food tasty. We had room 20 family room. So boys got to snore loudly together. You do get noise from the garden area but didn't bother us. They don't have a kids menu as such but they do smaller portions. They will always try to help out. Stairs uneven but it is over 200 yrs old. Our 5yr came last year and couldn't wait to come back.

Service good by a lovely barperson but food terrible! I don't eat bread and as it was a Sunday the food choice was either a full on lunch or sarnis. Asked for a salad — smoked salmon as it was a ciabatta they offered. Got salmon and leaves — thats it (no dressing, tomatoes, cucumber, onions etc etc) in a dessert bowl! And got charged for the full ciabatta plus a salad. What a joke! Never again which is a shame as we have just moved to the area ☹️

Love the library lounge and the atmosphere there. Food was tasty and well presented, but would have liked more on the wooden board (I had the three cheese Ploughman's).

Lovely big room, super comfy bed, powerful shower, superb breakfast, great dinner with interesting specials, proper bar and excellent service. A very nice stay.

Stopped for food whilst wandering round the town. We stopped here as allowed to take our dog in. Ordered some butties and side of chips. Very good quality and decent portion size. You won't go hungry!. Toilets were spotless and service by staff was very good. Will go again without question.

Stayed here while working in nearby Mitcheldean. Rooms very comfortable and cosy. Lots of character and charm. Well stocked bar and excellent food, staff very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended to use, with be back in the new year.

Great food with generous portions, and a good range of beers & lagers, both UK & continental, in a traditional wainscotted pub. Leather & wood furniture throughout, interesting wall art, nice staff. Highly recommended!

Very impressed with the rooms very clean comfy bed and bed linen, plenty of hot water, food at night was amazing, breakfast was lovely all produce good quality, home made bread was lovely, staff amazing.

Very clique orientated if your face doesn't fit don't bother, It is expensive for drinks deliberately so I feel £5 for a single ordinary Brandy is steep, Food is served but like the rest over priced.

Lovely Room (6), amazing breakfast and meal. Good beer. Ideally located. Smoke free parking (don't park in the warehouse unless you want bird poo all over your car)

The hotel is very welcoming, homely feel in both the bar and the room adjacent. We had a few pints there — Butty Bach and various others on tap! Great place.

Nice cozy bar for drinks and a lovely restaurant for a meal. Sunday lunch was lovely and the staff were very friendly too. Would definitely visit again!

Food wasn't the best we had the cheese and mushroom dish which came with salad and sun dried tomatoes, too many tomatoes. The others with us had the roast and they were excellent. We all enjoyed the starters. Lovely staff but we just chose the wrong dish, the main course for us was very dry and disappointing.

I visited with my dad who spent many happy Sunday's here, he was delighted that it hadn't changed one bit! Serve an excellent pint, nice homely, relaxed, quiet pub, we both had the steak and Stilton pie, which was absolutely beautiful, served with proper home cut chips and perfectly cooked veg. Would happily eat here again and again, premises are clean, staff are welcoming and polite. Food isn't overpriced and you get what you pay for. Highly recommended.

Second time we have stayed here for a short break, can't praise it enough, staff, rooms and food are exceptionally good! I would recommend it very highly!

We go here quite a lot! The food is (usually) superb (although on one occasion the chef must've been away, as the food was poorly cooked, and had clearly been kept warm under a hot lamp)

This is an absolute gem of a hotel, cosy, charming, extremely good value, and best of all: with a very, very good restaurant for dinner (and breakfast). I will be back bringing friends at the earliest opportunity.

Can't praise it highly enough for quality of food, value for money and service. Make sure you're hungry because the portions are generous! Wish we lived nearer.

A 2 night stay friday and saturday, Good parking, very welcoming, room lovely very spacious quite modern but not out of place, bar facilities good inexpensive not to small nice quiet side room facility for older people etc, Breakfast was good. Enough choice, service stern but efficient, Very clean hotel, will stay again. Bad points power shower great for you to use but when room above uses it very noisy (cant have it all I guess) also room at front noisy until 1am saturday night with people leaving bars etc all in all great for a 3 star been in worse 4 star… very happy people 35/45
