Friendly staff. I stayed in a mixed dorm with 15 beds. I was a little worried because I have only ever stayed with women, but everything went well. Everyone was very respectful. It has a good location and a nice kitchen!

Great location! Excellent and friendly staff who gave us a lot of useful information. Highly recommend double room because it has good bed and a very good air condition. If I would have any suggestions for the accommodation is to put ashtrays outside.

It is a good place to sleep, downtown EA and for the price this well what it offers, could only improve in cleanliness. Of is sick all is well.

Bike Nice nn is difficult to reach but if you go cn the Cutymapper makes you pass in the middle of the buildings and alleys x reach the hostel.

This was a great stay and didn't cost very much at all! There were a few issues with the facilities (fan inop, clogged sinks, and horrid guest but it wasn't a deal breakers as there were other facilities on different floors to use. The best part of the stay however was a receptionist named Inda (spelling? ). Inda was super welcoming and over the top helpful in finding laundry, providing info on the town, and simply spreading smiles to everyone who went up to the counter. Witnessing her tact and professionalism, it was clear that she was a cut above the rest. For the weary tourist coming in who might have been tired/grumpy, the warm greeting and helpful nature quickly eased any tensions. She even kept her demeanor while dealing with an extremely rude customer and simply brushed off the insults as if she was wearing armor. In short, Inda should be promoted and installed as an ambassador of London for all incoming visitors to this amazing city. Great hostel, amazing staff, and a shining Inda make this a top class hostel worth resting your head out!

For £20 a night, it is incredible. The rooms and restrooms are clean, showers down the hall, and great staff. Good prices for basics at front desk. Free breakfast is extremely bare. Fully stocked and usable kitchen.

Me and my sister stayed in this hostel for 5 days back in the winter and we both had a really pleasant experience. The location is amazing, it had good conditions, was clean and we had everything we needed. The only thing missing for us was maybe some storage space in the rooms. Since these are shared, things can get a bit messy with everyone's things hanging around. We were lucky enough to have the lady owner of the hostel around through all our stay and she was one of the main reasons we've enjoyed our staying so much. She was so helpful and kind and we loved chatting with her by the end of the day :) We recommend it and would come back with no doubts!

Good for the price. It wasn’t the nicest of all hostels, but you get what you pay for. A little far from city center. They store bags for 2 euros each which was a plus for us. Only reason it wasn’t enjoyable for me was that I was in a 12 mixed dorm and two of the guests were quite disruptive in the middle of the night at 3 am. Plan ahead and bring earplugs and an eye mask, and you’re good to go! Another plus was the outlets right next to the bed. It should be noted there were no lockers within the room, so you should be careful of leaving your things. I did not have an issue for the one night I was there, but I would have had more piece of mind if I could put my bag into a locker.

Hostel Downtown, the problem the showers were broken, you had to cross the entire reception and climb a floor to be able to shower. It is from young people who come and go, rest you can rest it right, very good price if the hotel does not care and you are going to stay all day visiting. To rest is not worth.

1800 BC Building. Cheap, average, low capacity room heater, shared washrooms. If you have less money, want to stay only for one night and share you room and bathroom with others then choose this hostel. Food is not allowed in rooms. 3 story bunk beds, you cannot sit on those due to less head space. Official website phot shows 4 computers bit in real there is only one. No restaurant or shop inside or nearby hostel. Staff good. 3floors without lift building. No storage lockers in room or below bed you have to keep your luggage on your bed or floor and room is shared between 12 and 15 people.

Good! We went 3 girls (Spanish) and we took a 3 bunk room with shared bathroom. The first day the boiler did not work, but they went out of their way to not hurt us. Breakfast is acceptable and not like any hostel that make you pay to use the kitchen or common areas, comes included. There are many Gratutitos maps so you can move and the receptionists are a love. On the map it seems that this is all 20 minutes, but we calculate we arrived in 7 to the Big Bang! The location is a pass and you have access from the hostel to Mogollon buses that pass every little time. The only thing that might change would be cleanliness, the common areas are not at all bad, but it would be good to clean thoroughly a bit. Otherwise we were very comfortable and recommend it head on!

Arrived at 11:20pm to find no lit up signs, rang door buzzer/bell got no response, rang telephone and the staff didn’t understand me. When I got inside and was checking in staff was not pleasant and didn’t understand me (English is my first and only language). Was not told where bathroom is. Was told breakfast time but not where until I asked (table at wall opposite reception). I have found one toilet room. Mixed gender with just 2 cubicles/toilets. Room has extreme bad odour. 15 beds (5 bunks with 3 beds each), heater set on 25 and no airflow at all. I asked staff about smell and odor. She said the room has no airconditioning and the cleaner leaves door open all day to air room. She offered to turn off heater and when she walked out room her face/facial expression showed how bad room smell is. Her comment to me was “yes very hot”. I am upset I have paid for 2 nights and I am considering not staying the second as the smell and lack of air is making me feel very sick and my eyes hurt. Definitely do not recommend this hostel to anyone. Would hate to smell and see this hostel in summer… also still do not know where shower is.

Good hostel, although it does not have an elevator to be able to upload your bags easier, but for a trip just to sleep and have where to bathe, is well.

Good price. Showers were clean but small. There is a safe room to store your bags while you are gone. Pizza place is 2 streets away. A 20min walk to big ben.

Clean and hospitable, would recommend for a brief or long stay. It is important to note that their rates are higher on the weekends, but considering their location it is still worth the money spent. Breakfast is cereal and toast with tea and coffee available all day at no additional cost.

Bed bugs… the stay was fine until the last 2 nights. One roommate complained about being bitten and I found bed bugs the night after in my comforter. Apparently this is not the first time this hostel has been infested with bed bugs. Other than that the hostel and rooms were kept clean.

I'd say if you're with a group of your friends this hostel is fine, otherwise do not come by yourself (Especially as a female). Personally, I felt sketched out the entire time. For one, the place is nothing like what is advertised in the photos! The majority of the people here are 40-60 years old. Definitely not a place to stay if you're young. The bathrooms are absolutely repulsive and not kept clean whatsoever. The area isn't bad but not somewhere to walk around by yourself at night. Would not recommend staying here!

Terrible. The location is good but the shower lasts 10 seconds literally. They charge you a lot but the owners only care about the money. It's not worth it.

Unfortunately we had a very dodgy roommate so didn’t feel comfortable in our room but the receptionist made us feel so safe, he offered to let us store our bags downstairs and was so kind. The hostel is very dingy but the staff more than make up for it!

Nice location. Ok bed. It was noisy when I was tgere due to renivation. Otherwise it should be good.

Very good reception. Good breakfast service. They don't turn on the heating outside the winter season, so I was a little cold. There's little water in the shower.

This place was very dirty with lots of dirt behind the bunks and the bunk outlets didn't work. The bathrooms were atrocious with mold and dirt on the floors and ceiling. The floors creaked so badly that it sounded like someone was standing in our specific room each time they walked passed our door. I honestly didn't get one nights sleep due to all the noise.

Decent price for room, but average quality. Staff very friendly and quick to fix an issue with my bed light. Downside is the location is far from things and a bit shady to walk at night.

The workers are really nice willing to help in anyway, but the rooms aren't like the pictures.

First time staying at a hostel and was impressed. Desk staff are great, good morning breakfast. Room was clean and bed was comfortable enough for a couples night rest. Quiet area away from the city but close enough to walk to the city. Bathroom and showers were well cleaned and water was hot!

Staff is really great and they always do all what they can to fix issues. But… The bathroom and toilets are too small. There's only 1 shower having decent water temperature, all others get only too hot water (not changeable). I was in the 15-bedroom because of the air conditioning, that is really appreciable during hot weather, but since the door cannot be closed without noise, every person who comes in or out wake you up (times 14) … So it's not really restful.

Relative to other prices of downtown London accommodations, the Waterloo Hostel is less expensive, clean, and conveniently located (if a little hard to find for an out-of-towner. Employees courteous. Offered free breakfast consisting of juice and cereal.

WORST HOSTEL EVER — I was stolen of 1, 000€, a shirt, a watch, and a jacket. Moreover I also reported it to police and they said is very common in that hostel. As is attended by criminals. Place is dirty and staff unkind. You can find much better around, cheaper and in better conditions and environment. There is many desperate people who stay there, 50/55 years old people without money even to pay one bed and they sleep in the common area on the sofa. They also have 3 bunk beds, is more for animals that place than for humans. Think twice prior booking in that place. All good reviews are written by staff.

It was okay, nothing special or fancy, but what do you expect for this price in a city like London? I was in a room with 11 other people. The bunk beds (for three) were tiny, I hit my head with every move, the "mattress" wasn't really a mattress, it was more of a thick yoga mat, not very comfortable if I'm honest. The staff wasn't veey friendly, not rude, just didn't feel like they actually cared and were just doing their jobs because they need money. The location is very hard to beat though.

You can have a complementary towl for your stay. Booking in is a few a5 sheets. The communal area is usually busy and lively. There are computers, TV and some games to play with various areas within the space. Rooms are OK, usually very warm (hence the towl) and treading carefully is a must. There is usually some (or a few) newbz that leave all their worldly possessions on the floor of a pitch black 8-15 birth room. Not ideal if your in late and up early! Showers and toilets are functional. Breakfast served 7-9 and included. For a cheap sleep, it's not bad and I've used this place more than once. Some of the local competition isn't as good.

Overall I would say that you get what you pay for! meaning that I didn't have a great experience, but not because it is a bad hostel but because this is a Hostel by itself, and you never get much better than this for the same price, so I would only recommend to a specific number of people. So if you already know the 'Hostel Life' this comment is mute for you ;) PROS: (1) Super cheap price for a Perfect location in London (i was mostly walking, no need for public transport). You get a simple breakfast as advertised, bread to make some toasts (butter and jam) and cereals/milk, nothing to fancy but more than enough for a good breakfast. (2) The common area is super nice, with comfortable sofas, a cool TV always passing some movies and a pool table. Drinks and snacks are also available for cheap price. And the Wi-fi is fast enough. (3) Reception guys are super nice and it's the check in available 24/7 (this was crucial for me). CONS: (1) you may notice that is advertised that you have 12 or 15 beds per room with 6 bathrooms, which seems reasonable for 12 people. But there's 12 rooms inside the hostel, so you have actually 6 bathrooms for the entire hostel (12rooms times 12/15 beds) which gives the wrong impression about the space and might be problematic in specific times os the day (2) each room is super small, there's no space to open your bag. You need to go outside the room to change clothes. Same thing with the bathrooms.

Stayed there for 1 night Oct 6, 2016. Please do not book this Hostel, really bad!. Doors falling off, Shower only 1 set temperature with no regulation. The closest rail station (Lambeth) will be closed until Feb 2017. The electrical in the room did not work, gave them an opportunity to fix, did not happen. Owner of the place who I spoke to on the phone absolutley not reasonable!. Do not suggest walking around neighborhood late in evening… There is another Hostel called Walrus that I went to and it was good enough and provided what they promised!

Great staff and atmosphere! Everyone is really friendly, and helpful. Walking distance to London eye and Big Ben, as well as the tube. Bathrooms and kitchen pretty clean, one of the better hostels I've stayed in.

It's a hostel — if you want luxury, go to a hotel. It's a cheap bed, with a tatty but friendly atmosphere, lovely reception staff and free breakfast. If you're vegan, bring your own milk/hummus/avocados ;) The bunks are triple stacked but have their own lights + UK and EU plug sockets. There aren't enough toilets on the top two floors but there's more facilities near the kitchen. For some reason the cleaners clean the toilets at about 9am right when everyone's getting up… The breakfast is access to a toaster, bread, butter, cereal, juice and cow's milk — it does get cramped in the kitchen so get your queue on. The staff gave us all ear plugs and rang us a taxi on request. For central London it's reasonably priced, there is a poor selection of shops/cafes etc in the area but it's so central that it's worth walking 20 mins to Southbank to get some food.

AVOID! 2 toilets for the whole hostel. No space for luggage in the rooms. Lockers are tiny. Breakfast very poor and certainly not vegan — only milk with cornflakes, not even juice, and the cheapest bread. Positive: staff on reception at 3am. For 15.95? get lost! that's all folks.

The staff are friendly and it had quite a good atmosphere. There were young people travelling from the UK and abroad, including some Londoners in between finding a new place and builders. The beds were OK, not really comfortable but it is a hostel. I would say the lower bunks seemed a little cramped. It is a good price and relatively close to the city centre.

The beds are not terribly comfortable, neither are the couches. And honestly I think advertising free tea and coffee all day borders false advertising. They do provide instant coffee and tea all day but this is the first hostel I've stayed at that didn't provide any milk to go with the coffee and tea! How many people do you know who like it black. I guess it's easy to offer something for free when you know most people will not have any. I was very disappointed. The internet works… when you can get on it which isn't very often. And there is nowhere to put luggage.

This shit doesnt deserve any star uphere. It was terrible "experience" for me and mt girlfriend. When u see pictures and when u come into the hosyel its diffirent universe. Toilets are dirty and there was shit all over the floor and they even write down that they are checked toilets. Disaster. When u enter to the room you find a 15 beds and room full of wired people who talk with themselves and they even get off their clothes in front of you. You get breakfast included in price, when I come into the kitchen I could recognise "toast". They serve old burned bread with some butter… They said that you have Wi-Fi connection in your room, iye a lie noone couldt find signal of any Wi-Fi… This hostel is worst thing that ever happened in my life it just ruined my trip to london. I would rather sleep under the bridge. Its just a shame that they have such bad informations and everything. Dont go in this hostel ever please listen to my advice its just waste of your money. Here is messege for the hostel staff : " You are the worst people I ever met becouse u lie to the people about your "AMAZING" hostel… rebuild it or dont sell lies" TERRIBLE!

Rooms were crappy, had to lug luggage up all the steep flights of stairs, the Internet didn't work the entire week and the bathrooms were disgusting. Would have been fine if it were cheap, but it was not. Ended up sleeping on the floor at a friends studio because it was better than this place.

A great place… Is cheap, good staff and the perfect place for meet people is in the kitchen.

Before booking the hostel we called ahead to make sure we could check in at any time and the lady we spoke to on the phone said we could check in at 10am and leave our bags there as we were going to a festival all day. When we arrived we were told we couldn't check in by the rude manager at the front desk who was really aggressive. We had to leave our luggage in the outdoor storage all day. This was especially frustrating as we were looking for hostels/hotels where we could check in at this time and the lady told us we could and that is why we chose it! When we finally got to check in at about 11PM we were charged a 5% fee to use our debit cards which we were not told about. We chose to stay in a 15 bed dorm and yes the hotel is budget but this was just completely messy, cramped and dirty. There were three tier bunk beds and there was absolutely nowhere to store luggage if you had the second or top tier so I had to leave my stuff unattended in the middle of the room. The bedsheets were thin and came off the bed during the night and the street noise from outside was awful, in the end we managed about 3 hours sleep. The beds weren't cleaned properly as there were bitten dirty old fingernails on my window ledge next to where I was laying my head during the night. The doors are heavy and loud so anyone going to the toilet or coming in later would wake everyone up. There were only two showers and one toilet to share between 45 people (three rooms of 15 people)!

I loved it. Hostel cleaner than most other hostels I have been to in London. Staff helpful and knowledgeable about london. Great location as only 5 minutes from Lambeth North tube station and close to BIG BEN too. Will recommend to my friends.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE! The worst place I've been ever. When we were looking for the hostel we thought it will be near to London Eye because of the name. No. London eye is more than 20 minutes walking! I didn't find anything near, no supermarkets, no banks, nothing, the location is horrible. When we finally make the check in, we went to our room and: 1-. 15 beds in a double room sized room. 2-. Dirty place 3-. The stair to the 3rd level bunk bed (yes, 3 bed bunks) was absolutely broken, I'm lucky because I saw it before trying to climb it. After that, I went to the reception and the staff guy said "mmm. I'll check it later, I change your bed", ok, he change our bed, but he never came to see the stairs, even he asign the bed to other guy! Then we went to the room again to see the new beds and: 1-. The bunk was dangerous near to the window, I felt like I were going to fall down throw the window, also was broken, and cold. 2-. I had no space to move in the bed, the roof berth was too near to the mattress (I say mattress but not actually, it was like a fitness mat. ), I hit my head too many times, was very hard to get into bed. 3-. The place was really cold, they don't put the heating, I get cold, now I'm ill, thanks. 4-. Wifi don't work! we came here because we work on internet and we need Wi-Fi, but Wi-Fi NEVER WORKS!

It's dirty and small. The 15 rooms composed of 5 beds on 3 floor. The room is the size of a room of 4. They stayed us in the Middle enough room to put 3 side suitcases open. There is no Cabinet and no curtain. There are 2 showers and 2 toilets by floors for 5 rooms (+ 63).

Overpriced, filthy. 1 dirty toilet between two floors (70+people) However the staff were the only redeeming quality they were friendly and accommodating.

Been there recently, and a guy in our room woke everyone up in the middle of the night because he tought someone had stolen his wallet. He yelled at us and threatened to kill everyone and to track their family to kill them too, and everyone was afraid of talking back to him because he was looking like he was hiding a gun. We could not sleep for hours and when we finally called security they didn't want to call the police at first, they just talked to the guy to get him out the room. Finally they agreed to call the police an hour after, and everyone asked them to reimburse us since we missed 3 hours of sleep and they said they would, and I never saw this money again. Plus the place is shitty and there is no attraction around it, even the London Eye is like 20 minutes walk from there. — would not recommend this hostel —.

The hostel looks nothing like it does in the pictures posted online, my outlet/light didn't even work by my bed, hotter than Africa at night in the rooms when you were trying to sleep, and the lockers that you can use to put valuables in is barely bolted to the floor where someone could probably just carry the whole thing right out the door. Staff are nice people though.

Unclean toilette and washroom and riom. They need more staff for cleaning. Good to stay for one night since it cheap. One extra star for the staff who made sure we were awake for our scheduled flight and knock on our door.

The hostel was in good location and it was dirty, few toilets, dirty bath rooms, one single stuff took care of cleaning once-twice maximum/day which in reality should be once every 2-3 hours for a hostel. The toilets and the bath were so disgusting that I usually went to the next pub to use their toilet. The worse part was the attitude of some stuff,. Specially an extremely ugly and bald half black at reception, EXTREMLY RUDE! He is scary, rude. He felt he owns the place and can offend paying costumers like slaves. I will never go back there. If you sleep in the middle of street, better than this place.
