Friendly & great service rooms are small.

I stayed here for two nights in between a business trip. It is a lovely historic building and in a prime location in Zone 1. Would stay again for this reason. Staff are friendly but the hospitality could be better and sharper. For example, breakfast time seems a little chaotic and disorganised — lots of people running around looking busy but not being particularly attentive resulting in long queues and delays for seating and food orders. I waited half an hour for a poached egg and when it arrived it wasn’t actually what I’d asked for. Could be a lot more organised if dedicated staff were allocated to specific tables/sections of the restaurant but it seems a bit like a free for all which lacks consistency and impacts on continuity and seamlessness of service. Definitely would benefit from some efficiencies when it comes to staff roles and organisation! Also the bedrooms could do with updating, looking a little tired.

My stay here was very disappointing — I had a room upgrade on arrival but this room had a connecting door with no sound proofing so I could hear every word of the conversation of the people next door when they returned to the room later in the evening. After complaining, the duty staff arranged for me to move rooms at midnight but the new room was overlooking the busy main road and did not have sufficient sound proofing either so I ended up having a sleepless night (even ear phones did not block out all the traffic noise) — which impacted the enjoyment of my weekend away.

This is a fabulous base for a week in London. It will take you a little while to find your way to and from your room so make the most of it. The service is excellent and the accomodation very comfortable. Conveniently located to Gloucester road station, bus, post office etc!

Very small numbers, terrible audibility. Great breakfast.

Single rooms are very small and tucked away. Rooms really need an update on furniture. The only chair was worn and made of a ghastly material — man made — and very heavy to move. If one looked out from the window one saw vents and "tubes". Like the back of a factory. Also the flooring very uneven in spite of thick carpets. One felt wobbly and like being drunk taking steps. A strange feeling. The positive is the staff and the breakfast. Have stayed at this hotel several times (4-5? ) but have decided to try other accomodation next time.

A nice building in a premium location. But what singles this hotel out for me is the patience, efficiency and friendly attitude of *every* member of staff I encountered. I was here for business, using the meeting rooms and facilities to deliver a course and, again, the support was faultless.

I had a prepaid reservation here. Upon arrival I got a manager explaining that "system was down this week. We don't have any rooms left. I am booking you to a sister hotel". Even this is unpleasant enough but the cheeky bugger wants to move me to a cheap hotel with half the price rooms. Only after long talks am I moved to a decent hotel. Quite unprofessional. Oh, he did offer me a drink in the bar while waiting for the cab :) that was the most expensive drink I had if I do the room difference math.

Good location. Had a few issues with being near the generator at the back room 208 and 328. However thanks to Thomas the duty manager he was so good and moved us a few times. If it wasn’t for him we would of been unhappy. Thank you Thomas. Great location good food but most of all Thomas the manager.

This boutique hotel is well run and extremely convenient. The tube is only one block away and many attractions are within walking distance. There is also a very good in house restaurant.

Great city hotel with a lot of English charm. Room very different from the size. Also the baths. Those who do not have the cheapest category will receive a very small room at full occupancy of the hotel. Since you are in London, you will not spend the majority of time for the room. Hotel and rooms clean and well maintained. At the reception very friendly and helpful staff. Bar and Restaurant are nice. The cocktails are good. The breakfast was good. The prices are reasonable for London conditions. (attached pictures of the room are a higher category).

Stayed in room 220 for 6 nights. It was good stay. The staff services (especially the lady on breakfast restaurant) are lovely, the meals are good, and can't beat the location for access to tube (central and piccadily line) and food (some halal foods is available around). The only thing that my room is located at position that accessible only through stairs at 2nd floor so a bit challenging getting 3 big luggage down or to the nearest lift. Other than that it's a good place to stay in London.

Fantastic hotel with bags of character, outstanding location for exploring London on foot or via public transport, impeccable service from friendly and professional staff. Found it easy to get a good online deal which was better than other hotels in the neighborhood and was given a complimentary upgrade on arrival. Slept really well with Egyptian cotton bedding.

Had a one night stay. Staff were superb, helpful and friendly — couldn't fault. Location is great, few minutes from Gloucester Road tube. Room was a bit small but comfortable. Slightly tired decor but clean and well maintained. Layout of the hotel is a total maze, but at least we'll signed so didn't get too lost.

Something was stolen at the hotel for breakfast. Professional thieves, the hotel must not be the first time such an event has occurred.

Very nice and fancy. They have some really nice deals. Breakfast is a bit overpriced but still tasty. A meager selection of movies on demand, and the HDMI port on the TV is disabled, so you can't use your own devices. Also there's no microwave in the deluxe room. Overall really nice hotel. Great location.

A quiet cozy place and very well located strategically close to transportation services meters.

Nice big open space. Doesn't feel rushed or crampt at all. Which is a nice change in London… The food was lovely and presented well. The choices were good. A good selection of drinks. Cocktails wines and beers. Nice big windows to sit in, too.

Very convenient for museums. Lots of local places to eat and shop for necessities. Airy high ceilings and spacious rooms as befitting an Edwardian hotel. Breakfast was great and the staff were very helpful and friendly. My wife, 2 young children and myself will definitely return.

Great hotel I recommend we are staying 4 nights.

Extremely friendly staff, all of whom were polite and helpful. There was an issue on our part where we had apparently only arranged for the breakfast buffet to be included for my friend with whom I was traveling, but allowed us both to eat from the buffet anyway. It was very tasty, with a good selection to choose from — Full English, or more continental. The complimentary water bottles in the room were well received after our days out in the city. The hotel is a maze of corridors and rooms, but everything was easy to find thanks to regular signs indicating where to find our room, the reception, etc. It has very easy access to the London Underground with two very nearby stations, the Natural History Museum and Victoria & Albert Museums are very close by. There are also a number of eateries in the surrounding area. Only downfall was the small rooms (but with it being an old building needing to cater for a lot of residents this was not surprising), small lift, and the fact that the carpets in the rooms were quite dirty (would be wise to either shampoo them more often or replace them entirely). Everything else was extremely clean. My friend slipped down the stairs twice, but I think that is more due to his clumsiness than any actual problem on the hotel's part.

I could've put in five stars. But… the sink was clogged. And the bathtub did not have a telephone shower but a fixed handshower, which is not acceptable. Otherwise everything is good and great welcome and sense of the customer.

Loved this boutique hotel in the heart of Kensington. Location is right by the tube, lots of great shopping and restaurants nearby. Staff are very attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Room was small and comfortable, bathtub was huge… loved it for a very tall person Restaurant on site at as very good and well priced. Definitely will stay here again.

Good hotel. They provide most of what you need for your stay. The breakfast is good, but the best part is the room service. They dont really have a lot of options, but the options they have are amazing, everything well prepared! Around the hotel, there are many places to visit. Museums, little stores for souvenirs and artisan items and a lot of restaurants for you to try all kinds of different foods.

Very chic, there is always someone who speaks French.

Great location, a 2min walk from Gloucester Road station on Piccadilly line. The bed and room are clean and comfortable. The room has fridge and electric kettle in the room. The only complaint I have is the shower. The water temperature is inconsistent and the water pressure is very low. Overall a great hotel in London.

They didn't remake the room after they changed it I found the sheets broken even at the poor shelter obscene.

Very nice hotel. Staff very friendly. They even take the effort of treating you by your name. Breakfast is very good with a very good selection both of hot and cold. They also have an a-la carte breakfast menu which we never used because we feel the present selection at the buffet suited our needs perfectly. The restaurant also serves lunch and dinner and it is a very good option as opposed to having your main meas somewhere else, prices are very reasonable indeed. Expect a very different decoration (New Age) in Scoff & Banter restaurant. I felt it was very interesting it's "plate" serving concept. The food is very originally presented. The outsiders coming in for meals as opposed to having only resident guests speaks for itself. Restaurant staff very friendly and very professional.

Modern and adequate. Good selection of breakfast food — they even had avocado to suit my millennial taste! Bad points: no bedside lamps in the room; no power sockets by the bed; issues using vouchers which is still ongoing.

Room was small and basic but perfectly decent and clean. Shower was good but the AC unit did make a few funny noises and it dripped once or twice. Breakfast was really good and had some nice vegan options for us. Overall it was a good experience but the main thing that let it down was that we had vouchers to use to cover the cost of our stay and we told them at the time if booking that we had them and then again at check in and we're told both times to present the vouchers when checking out. During check in they took a swipe of our credit card for security reasons and we were told that no payment would be taken but when we went to check out a different person was unaware that we had vouchers and told us that the cost of the room had already been charged to our credit card. He said he would resolve it later when it was less busy and email us with confirmation of our refund but this hasn't happened yet so we are waiting for it to be resolved.

Ok sized rooms with good facilities, bed was very comfortable. Good location for visiting the musuems. Breakfast is very good with a good selection of buffet and waiter service dishes. However bring your own coffee for the in room tea and coffee making facilities though as the one supplied is awful.

Came here for a birthday treat and the staff upgraded us to a suite which was so opulent and luxurious.

Staff has no coordination at all. Took them 2/3 days out of 5 days of our stay to act and work on our request. Will never recommend this property. Much better options next to same property. Toilets can't fit 2 people standing in them also.

Negative: Here to spend the next 6 nights. Was a pity that I was given a room on the ground floor and a tiny locked window that brings no sunlight or view. The aircon in the room was extremely noisy when turned on to full speed. Had to have it on low speed to be able to sleep in peace. Positive: Close to Gloucester Underground Station. 24 hours Burger King and Tesco mart. Quiet surroundings. Peaceful and safe.

3.5 stars. A bit better than OK, but not quite good. We stayed here two nights at the end of a Rick Steves tour. Room was nice, but a little cluttered. Bathroom was tight. Tub/shower combo. Tub floor had sloping sides, which made me fear for my balance. Check-in took a long time. They said that they had had a power outage and their computers were down. They apologized for the delay in checking in. The included buffet breakfast was OK except for the stale pastries.

I had the pleasure of staying at the Vanderbilt for 10 nights and from the moment I arrived, it felt like home. The front desk, restaurant, and housekeeping staff took great care to ensure the food was good, the rooms were spotless, and all the details were looked after to ensure I had a great stay. The location couldn't have been better. The hotel is close to the tube station, wonderful shops and restaurants, magical residential streets, and museums. My only criticism is that there is very little storage in the rooms so I couldn't fully unpack my suitcase. I have also heard that some single rooms are quite small.

I stayed here in June 2016 & the staff are definitely friendly & service levels are high. However, it's one of these typical cobbled together hotels on London composed of several buildings with connecting corridors. Having said that for the area it's ok. I will go back…

Excellent location near Gloucester Road tube station. Best check in staff experience I have had at a hotel in recent times. On the less positive side rooms are very small, only one small lift in hotel. Lots of character with small corridors throughout hotel. Breakfast service excellent. Would recommend for single travellers but probably better choices for leisure and family visitors.

Visited for use of one of their Meeting rooms, very good service, very clean and well presented. Lunch was delicious and enjoyed by all.

Nice looking hotel on the outside, nice looking on the inside, a little tight on space in my room, the carpet could do with an overhaul but that is me being critical, the staff were great, the breakfast was fantastic, the TV was a bit fiddly to watch standard terrestrial television and I'm a techy. They also tried to upsell me a min 50 quid tab on bar, bit strange. Overall it wasn't bad for the price, the staff were great in the morning one gent helped me with some documents I needed to send out.

Good hotel, friendly staff and lovely building. The room I stayed in was slightly small, but it was a single. The best part of this hotel by far was the breakfast buffet. There is a wide selection of food available and great service to boot. One thing which I would mention is that it could start a little earlier as I was waiting for it to open with a few other people. Wi-Fi was in the rooms and the bathroom was very modern and clean. Also only a few minutes walk from the tube station.

Location was very safe. Right across the street from Gloucester Road tube stop, with plenty of options for Double Decker tour bus pick-up/drop off points. About 1 mile down the road from Harrod's and 1 mile down the road from Kensington Palace. The hotel bar felt very safe, great place to chat with the locals! The hotel staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. When my laundry did not make it back in time for me to leave with it, the hotel staff was extremely accommodating and had my jeans shipped back home to me — they arrived in the U. S. Before I did! I would stay here again, because it was a great value and an absolutely wonderful location!

I was with my wife in London from 6/10/14 to 9/10/14, exlente the place, the attention of the staff and the location. Always hotels Raddison are of high quality in all aspect, in addition to the Edwardian, I stayed in Radissons in Copenhagen, Brussels, Berlin, Hamburg.

We stayed at this Hotel for two nights it was the first time in London for me. We did not expect much from what the reviews on trip advisor etc. Said, but were very pleased in the end. When we arrived early in the morning we could leave our luggage get some free water en a rest in the traditional but modern lobby. Service was always nice and helped us with everything we needed day and night (adapters for electric current, toothbrush and paste, tips an advice for our stay etc. ). As the building in the past consisted in a row of typical Townhouses the corridors were indeed kind of confusing and the way to our room quite long and narrow to manage with luggage, but we had our fun with it and the way out and to reception always displayed on the walls. Everything seems to be continously renovated. Also I enjoyed breakfast very much allthough the restaurant is beeing renovated completely at the Moment. Corissants, Muffins, really fresh and tasty fruits and berries, different juices of which Orange and apple juice were fresh! Cereals of all kinds with a variety of nuts and dried fruit aside. Fresh Toast was brought to your table all the time as well as coffe and tea. Not to forget the hot buffet with, bacon, eggs, sausages, baked beans and tomatoes. And I didn't try all the other Stuff like ham and cheese, yoghurt and so on. All was permanently refilled!

Stayed in the hotel for 8 nights, was impressed! The rooms are somewhat varying in their condition and the hotel layout is quite mazelike, because of the history of the building. However, the hotel is very well situated, central but without a busy or noisy feel. The rooms to the back of the house are positively tranquil. Most importantly: The staff at the reception were extremely helpful and forthcoming, the daily clean-up spotless and the service at breakfast buffet was always friendly and polite, even though they were very busy at times. I can warmly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting London.

Really enjoyed our stay. Location very convenient. Service was a outstanding, buffet breakfast was amazing. We ask for a quiet room and that is exactly what we got, albeit small (which we were prewarned about). The facilities in the room were good, clean, warm and the bed comfy. My only wish was that there was more light by the main mirror.

Location is absolutely super. Gloucester Road underground almost in front of the door. Very friendly and responsive staff cozy come. Well equipped rooms. Good price-performance ratio. At any time.
