We stayed at this Hotel for two nights it was the first time in London for me. We did not expect much from what the reviews on trip advisor etc. Said, but were very pleased in the end. When we arrived early in the morning we could leave our luggage get some free water en a rest in the traditional but modern lobby. Service was always nice and helped us with everything we needed day and night (adapters for electric current, toothbrush and paste, tips an advice for our stay etc. ). As the building in the past consisted in a row of typical Townhouses the corridors were indeed kind of confusing and the way to our room quite long and narrow to manage with luggage, but we had our fun with it and the way out and to reception always displayed on the walls. Everything seems to be continously renovated. Also I enjoyed breakfast very much allthough the restaurant is beeing renovated completely at the Moment. Corissants, Muffins, really fresh and tasty fruits and berries, different juices of which Orange and apple juice were fresh! Cereals of all kinds with a variety of nuts and dried fruit aside. Fresh Toast was brought to your table all the time as well as coffe and tea. Not to forget the hot buffet with, bacon, eggs, sausages, baked beans and tomatoes. And I didn't try all the other Stuff like ham and cheese, yoghurt and so on. All was permanently refilled! The two bedroom we had was quite big with room to lay your luggage a Table and a desk an three chairs and still plenty of room to walk with two people. Everything wasclean and working fine, technical Items free for use of very good quality, very useful for example Flat iron with board, ipod/pad/phone dockingstation and so on. One small bottle of water per day/per person included. Two big Windows. I enjoy sleeping on hard matraces so I found it very comfortable, also I'm great friend with big plushy Towels which we also had. No bad smells that some People described nor was it a noisy site. I was able to open and close the windows although it was a little heavy caused by the age of the large sash windows, thats why the hotel Service left a hint on each window which tells you that yout room service will open it for you if you wish so. 40 min to Heathrow with a shuttle. 15minutes walk (it took us longer because there's so much to see) to herrods and round the next corner Glouster Street and Station for Underground or Sightseeing Busses as well as Pubs and Post office. 10-15min walk also to the Royal Albert Hall and Kensington Garden. We really enjoyed our stay! And I have the feeling that some People leaving bad reviews here either have had very bad luck on their stay or are very mourning persons who are not able to take the book on the table with its precise "Dear Guest" Infos or the Telephone to either call the reception or the room service, nor are they able to talk to one of the plenty Staff members taking very good care of every guest and adressing you whenever they are around you and there's always at least three of them.
