Location, Location, Location. Worn but clean, a basic roof over your head in keeping with the cost.

The hotel staff were friendly and polite. We always found someone manning reception when we wanted assistance. The prices were excellent for such central location which was only 200 m from the tube station. Our room needed updating as it was quite old fashioned but everything we needed was there. A handy spot for a short stay.

Loved coming back to our room with a key in the lock all day because housekeeping can't keep track, love being shrugged at by incompetent reception 'manager' who couldn't understand this issue with this. Loved travelling back home at 7 at night because we didn't feel safe. Loved the fact our weekend was ruined and we lost a day at the walker stalker convention because he fails to grasp the severity of the situation! Weekend ruined.

If I could give it negative stars then I would! The rooms and amenities are OK for the price. The staff however are rude, unfriendly, unhelpful and arrogant. I came back from a day out to find a key had been left in my room door by someone (probably a chamber maid) all day while I was out, giving not only staff but other guests unrestricted access to my room. When I questioned why my privacy and security had not been respected and why it was wrong that the key had been left there all day, all I got in response was shrugged shoulders and a comment of 'what do you want me to do about it? ' after explaining that my wife no longer felt safe staying in the hotel I was first me with sarcasm of 'what, do you want me to stand guard at your door all night? ' and then 'if you don't like it then find somewhere else to stay' He then had the nerve to call me rude for wanting answers and not just accepting his dismissal of the situation. Very poor experience here and I'd encourage others not to frequent this establishment.

Quiet hostel, in a charming London area, very well located, next to a metro stop and with lots of shops and restaurants of all kinds.

Comfortable room modern bathroom a little old but in total comfortable and cozy.

I can only talk about room 13. To avoid, Imworld. Probably the room reserved for Wonder box. Incredible that it could still exist. Cons Good reception good neighborhood but hotel very dilapidated.

Quirky rooms that don't get very dark. It is just down the street from Earl's Court tube stop but there are several hotels on the same road that looked nicer.

A small, a bit old very well located two star hotel.

I stayed there 2 nights and I found the service pretty good and the room quite clean, a bit tiny though. Breakfast is ok and the reception service closes around 11:30 pm so they leave you the keys of the main door. It's really close to Earls Court Underground Station so it's pretty easy to get anywhere from there.

Charming hotel! Clean and interesting architect and decor. ONLY downfall was the bathroom door didn't latch. Small detail though — — didn't detract from our stay!

We had such a wonderful trip, but this hotel really tarnished it. I was expecting a small room, so that was not really an issue, it was the overall lack of cleanliness I couldn't look passed. The rooms are falling apart. The filthy cloth headboard isn't even attached to the bed or wall (which is just as well. I couldn't stand the thought of whatever those stains were being so close to my head. Broken and old junk are littering the rooms… just throw it away! The power blew out and the plumbing was broken when we checked into our room. It took them 3 days to get to fixing it and check us into another room. So I had to explore ice cold London with wet hair and use the hallway WC. The lady at the desk was severely unfriendly. We were getting too nervous to say good morning to her when we passed her (that glare! ). I went outside whenever my fiance needed to ask her a question or for some advice or directions, she was that intimidating! I do have to give Maranton House 2 stars for the location though. It is right next to the tube station on a quiet, pleasant street. Plus, it is steps away from our favorite pub (which we enjoyed several times during our trip), the Blackbird. We did take something from this experience. That is to save a little extra to spring for nicer, cleaner accommodations. What little extra money we saved really wasn't worth it in the end.
