We chose this hotel 7 years ago and for 7 years we have always come back willingly, as well as sending lots of friends and acquaintances. as early as May 2018 I noticed that the cleaning had become non-existent, the breakfast was miserable and the breakfast room was badly managed. now we stayed for 5 nights, we came back last night, last time in Queens. The bathroom was washed superficially, the dirty dirt of toothpaste remained dirty until yesterday morning. … in order to make us bed, I had to completely raise the sheets below, because they were limited only to fix the. The breakfast room? Wet cups, one of the two ladies, the oldest, we needed puffing without the least care and courtesy. Very dirty, the table was cleaned to accommodate us by passing the hand to remove the crumbs. only the reception and the position remained, as the rest is entrusted to dirty people … as they usually do.

I like the traditional features, I am not amazed by the food. I didnt like the gravy, veg was nice.

I've visited 4 or 5 times now. Comfortable, cosy, friendly service and nice space. Pleasant atmosphere. A good place to have a drink and a laugh. I have yet to try their menu. I would be happier if they didn't have that poor fish in that tiny tank behind the bar.

Friendly staff, old locals, good food, good selection of beers, what every pub should be.

This has been my local for over 15 years. The prices seem to keep going up though! Nether the less, great staff and great atmosphere.

Ok if you just want a pint. Chips were disgusting we had to send them back they looked like they’d been sitting in the deep fryer for hours. Ordered a Sprite and the rim of the glass was filthy. Nasty place!

Great pub to visit before and after a QPR match! Friendly staff, good priced drinks and great football atmosphere which is frequented weekly by local fans! C'mon you Rs!

Lively pub, selling tasty bar snacks. And I think there’s a restaurant upstairs. A nice place for a quick lunch or drinks.

I’be been in this pub on Friday night with my boyfriend and we absolutely loved it! The food was great, amazing GF and vegetarian options they even have a vegan option on the menu which is unbelievable for such an old style pub. The drinks menu is really good as well, had a nica g&t! The atmosphere was lovely, great for a date or just with family and friends, the restaurant area is also separate from the pub area so is more quiet and enjoyable. Thanks to the waitress I tried for the first time in my life the sticky toffee pudding, absolutely amazing! 5 star experience we will be back very soon! Keep it up!

Good location. Walking distance from Finsbury park tube station (Piccadilly, Victoria line and national rail) and manor house station Piccadilly line.

Lovely traditional pub with all original features. Big space with outside courtyard too. Great atmosphere and helpful, polite staff. Food was excellent.

Relatively small Room and not quite perfect, but very good price, very good Location, Breakfast also good, friendly staff who cares. Very suitable For London Visits on a smaller Budget.

Lovely pub and great food. The staff or the owner (? ) was very friendly, they welcomed us and offered different places to sit. I had a cold and didn’t want to sit next to a window and they accommodate that no problem. The food was quick to arrive even tho it was busy. A bit more expensive than other pubs in the area but overall a great Sunday roast out. We’ll come back.

If you could put a star to this "rat hole" it would be gold! Unspeasable… I can not attach photos otherwise I would show the hardness of my words! Dirty sheets and bathroom virtually impracticable! Current cables uncovered and therefore dangerous. Paying to stay is a theft! Watch the scam!

Feels like a pub should feel. Beautiful building, great vibe, lovely service, and a drinks selection that covers every palate. Stunning, intimate beer garden with some "unique" features. Dog friendly as well ❤

Visited on Easter Sunday for a roast. The quality here is always consistent but this was especially good. The kitchen know what they're doing. Lovely local pub with good selection of ales and cosy atmosphere.

Interesting Pub with dining upstairs. Rowdy rugby waching crowd downstairs but pleasantly uncrowded upstairs for a Saturday early evening Decent beer and good food.

Nice fire on a cold wet day, dog and family friendly. Free treats for the dog just ask, and such great food with friendly staff, and such a range of beer.

My go-to pub in Primrose. Lovely atmosphere with solid selection of cask beers and comfort food. Kid friendly staff and nice music.

The food and wine in this place is absolutely below average — I have no idea why its full all the time.

Soo, Alex, Paula, and Molly were attentive, friendly, and very welcoming to this American and his fiance. The baked camembert was great as was the steak. Great selection of craft beers at very reasonable price. If you find yourself in Crouch End make the time to stop in here for a pint, a bite to eat, and excellent service.

Massive old school pub that caters to the local community. Big selection of drinks and bar food with okay prices and huge seating selection including some very comfy couches by the fire, perfect spot to play some board games available. Ambiance is unfortunately lost in an establishment of this proportion and the atmosphere is a bit morose, although it could be because I went on Sunday and we all dreaded Monday. Anyways great spot for a relaxed hang out.

Classic pub. Lovely interior and decor. Decent selection of beer. Three real ales plus craft and lager. Food is good too.

We can all be very grateful to the landlord for keeping this beautiful heritage pub so well intact — let's hope it makes it through the next century as well. A bustling bar on the left, a cosy, candlelit restaurant on the right. The food is comforting, delicious and sensibly priced. Beer selection is reasonable. Probably worth reserving a table on Friday or Saturday evenings.

This is my favourite pub, I go there with my husband and he says the craft beer is very good. Food is really good, every time we eat there we love it! And the service is also really good. The atmosphere is brilliant! We hosted our wedding reception there and the managers were super helpful! I couldn’t ask for a better place.

Hotel with old rooms Sal bathroom very small toilet should not be hefty. The breakfast was very nice and the breakfast was great.

Can take it or leave it really. Not the best pub to visit but seen worse. Good tap beer selection they have a bar section for bar food and table service on the other side. It gets really noisy in the late afternoon and evening but that's normal. Food isn't too bad but not a large variety. They do have mulled wine and cider in winter. Dogs are allowed and there are water bowls for them.

Really nice! The setting is quite picturesque, the meal was really good and the staff are welcoming. A lovely meal after a nice stroll in Primerose Hill.

Sitting in the Queens at the moment enjoying a Sunday Roast. However the dog friendly policy means it's accompanied by a Barking and whining dig. I won't be returning.

Friendly pub with nice seating and a real fire, good food too. Great location with easy access to the hill.

Staff very helpful and friendly. Food portion size quite nice but small portions and also more expensive than expected.

Nice looking pub, good service, lovely fire. A little pricey but about right for the sweet location. They also had a magician in visiting tables, which was pretty random and unexpected but he was genuinely incredible, so fair play. Would certainly revisit when next in the area.

Ordered a candied beetroot, toasted almond and thyme salad. The beetroot was very obviously out of a jar, the almonds weren't toasted and there was no thyme. My friend ordered a burger and was given the wrong one. We complained and they apologised but offered no compensation. What we got wasn't actually that bad but it was just really bad service for the amount we paid and fundamentally not what we asked for. This is a place in a wealthy neighbourhood where they know they can overcharge for sub-par food without any risk of consequences, so they clearly don't feel the need to provide decent service.

Superb art deco pub and dining room. The original features are kept in tip top condition. Unfortunately the food apart the meat is quite average.

Comfortable environment, nice staff and a good selection of red wines. Perfect for a relaxing Shiraz after a nice massage at the Crouch End Spa.

The best pub in Crouch End by a country mile Aside from the venue: a spacious Art Noveau large venue, the bar staff are cheerful and pleasant, a good selection of beers and spirits. I recommend the bar food and attached restaurant.

A great Primrose Hill local with character, charm, excellent staff and good faire.

Exceptional food and great selection of beers. Having punk IPA on tap is a great plus. There is lively atmosphere and interiors are full of dark wood. Overaly great place for a dinner.

The pub looks great. Had a really good selection of ales. The menu is nothing to go crazy over but we didn't wait ages and it tasted great. Good pub grub. The staff and service was really good and friendly. Thumbs up.

I've eaten in this pub last week-end with my husband; we expected to find good pub food. We tried the burger (even though it was quite pricey) and it was definitely the worst we had in a long time in a restaurant. It was quite small, not tasty at all (over cooked meat, very few ingredients) and the chips were not good at all. We could have as well gone to a famous fast food chain, it would have been better and a lot cheaper. We can't speak for the rest of the menu, but the burger: not good and over priced.

Avoid at all costs. The food here is terrible. Last night a group of us ordered dinner, only to be hugely disappointed by portion size and quality. The pork "T-bone" came out the size of a 50 cent coin, which was mostly fat. On top of this you had to order sides which were dry and below par. Great location, but needs an overhaul!

An old, rustic, wood heavy pub that has a great cosy atmosphere especially for those long winter nights. It has a patio in the back but probably better places to go in the summer in Crouch End but still deserves 4 stars overall! Good selection of beers and ales but they could do more than with just 3 whiskey malts available.

Stopped in after visiting Primrose Hill. Great location and really cozy atmosphere. Food was top notch, as well.

This is a verry bad hotel. Dont go there. Me and my m8 got biten by some bugs over night. We were in diferent rooms diferent floors. Is verry dirty on the inside. Is the worst place u can stay in a hotel. We show them the bites on our bodyes took pictures of them as well. And still no refund. Dont go there!

Get for the price. Only complaints was the Small room, quite cramped for three people. Overall though a good nights sleep.

Upon arrival we were greeted by Sergio, with a great big smile. He was softly spoken and had a blue shirt. He was pleasant and helpful although he didn't understand the word 'vegan'. This became apparent when he offered us a glass of milk. The room had four perfectly solid walls and a ceiling, as well as some piss-stained drawers. We suspect if we casted an ultra-violet light on the walls we would most definitely see traces of sperm. The shower was the rapiest I've ever seen. There was a pleasant and functional coat-hanger in the wardrobe which we shared, but also enough room for silly dancing after hours. For £60 a night you can't go wrong, just make sure you buy alcohol before 11pm cos the shops around here are pants and Sergio hasn't got any tequila. Looking forward to my vegan option at breakfast.

Nice hotel but very small rooms, close to park for festivals, but very expensive! Lovely food only thing is the location is bit run down a few food shops, subway, tesco, Barbers, etc not much else. Was ok could improve expand but for what it is it does the job and service was good although room service just walked in invaded privacy when we asked them not to enter but apart from that it was a pleasent stay :)

I was in the hotel the last days of December 2014 and the first two in January 2015. We share a family room 4 people. He spaced enough to spend a few hours, sleep, and go for a walk. Very clean and change of towels every day. The bathroom (in the bedroom), very small. Perfect heating and hot water. Impeccable breakfast, enough food and variety. Very correct treatment. Metro station 5 minutes walk. If I returned to London, very hotel.

It's a really comfortable place! The stuff are all nice, and it's near the subway station. Really lovely place to stay.

To be honest the hotel looks so nice from out side but the minute you step in you can tell its not a good idea to sleep over there. the staff are so rude and disrespectful. The way they treat me and show me my room was a total humiliation. I end up that night with checking out and sleeping at a friend's place. I do not recommend it to any one at all.

Not so bad as they say, very cheap.
I had read terrible reviews about this hotel and I was prepared for the worst, but instead it wasn't so bad. The hotel is very old, the rooms are nice, it can happen to make a cold shower in the morning, not very clean but I've seen worse, but the staff is very courteous, breakfast english is satisfactory, the neighborhood is quiet and 2 Central London can be reached, the price is more than affordable. If what you need is just a place to sleep for 3/4 days don't be put off by negative reviews.

I went here in march 2011, I expected what I got for the price. 40 quid. I have been to london lots of times over the last 20 years, if you want nice wallpaper park veiws and room service, go elsewhere, you want somewhere near to the tube, a good chippy, indian, pub and a cafe with a bostin brekky within a 5 minute walk and somewhere to lay your head after a day walking around the sights of london and dont mind below standard rooms (altho they were revamping the place at the time). Stay here. Get an ensuite tho or you'll be down the hall from the toilet/shower in the basement. My wife is fussy about clean sheets ect. But had no moans about this place. I have stayed in worse. Yes I have!. Did I mention the free brekky. Clean, cheap and handy for the tube. 3 stations nearby.

We stayed at this hotel on May 5th. Although it wasnt 5 star hotel we paid less then £50. You cant expect 5 star when you dont pay for 5 star. We received friendly service, a complimentry free english breakfast, clean and light bedroom with fresh towels. We would stay there again, being in London with sooo much to do we only needed some where to sleep and shower this place was ideal.

Positive: location, price, hospitality, 24 hours portier. Negative: ants, cracks and dents. Well, I'm sad to see all these bad reviews. I admit, the place was rather shabby. The service wasn't the best either. And the breakfast was ultimately not the what I would have prefered. But. To the price it was "decent". Good location and I liked the ladies who prepared breakfast. All in all it was alright to the price. Me and my boyfriend were satisfied. It's not meant to be a deluxe location. It's for people who wants to see London and have a place to sleep which isn't a youth hostel. I wanted to recommend it to others after, of course I could have been lucky with the room. Or maybe my standards are lower than most.
