Stayed here many times, rooms are lovely, warm too. All the staff are great. Very close to restaurants and pubs. Spacious car park. Lovely walks all around. Highly recommended. Very generous buffet breakfast.

Brilliant hotel in a great location. We were checked in by, who is a lovely lady. She explained everything to us and showed us to our room. The room itself is very spacious and clean. Bathroom has a spa bath with step in shower. Plenty of toiletries provided. The room also has 2 and a DVD player, along with tea & coffee making facilities. Anyone coming to Ambleside then I definitely recommend staying here.

Perfect location to town centre yet peaceful and quiet hotel. Excellent room, spacious with great views. Staff were so friendly and helpful.

Fit me in when there was a confusion over dates (my fault), very accommodating, clean generous rooms, friendly approachable staff. Top drawer!

Brought mum as an early birthday present. Very friendly managers and staff who cant do enough for you. The continental breakfast was brilliant and the room was lovely and clean. Great location for all amenities in Ambleside. Would totally recommend and I will return with my Hubby and Benji! Thankyou for a great few days even with 1 rainy day.

Had an amazing stay at Brathay Lodge. It's situated in a lovely area with fantastic views. Staff Food and Service was 100% definitely visit again.

Lovely stay very welcoming to us and our dog great room with access straight outside which is great with the dog very clean with a spa bath which we never had time to use but with a shower over the bath which was quite deep some people might find it a bit difficult to use because there is no grab rail didn't matter to us though we will definitely stay again it's 5star for us.

Nicely decorated, cozy atmosphere, beautiful view plus jacuzzi make it perfect stay Superb Well managed and good staff.

I absolutely love staying at brathay lodge. The owners are so friendly and welcoming. The rooms are spotless and tastefully decorated and the rooms at the front of the building have beautiful views. Each room has all the facilities you should need and the spa baths are a god's send after a long walk.

We absolutely love this place and have stayed here quite a few times over the years, as our family has grown.
Our most recent stay this weekend has again been just brilliant. We stayed in a large family ‘dog friendly’ room; 2 adults in a decent sized double bed and 2 single beds for the children. These rooms are perfect, lots of room for us all, dog included, to move around.
Rooms very clean with good facilities.
The staff really make this place as good as it is though, this is our first time back in a few years and they still remember us. Very friendly, approachable and nothing is too much trouble.
Highly recommend, thank you for another memorable weekend.

Room was amazing, lots of space for the whole family, and very clean. Located in Ambleside, it was a short car journey to everything we wanted to do in the Lakes.

Good stay and jacuzzi is a nice addition to the room. However disappointed by the cold breakfast. Also noises from the room above us kept us awake at night as we were hearing people walking all around upstairs.

Really lovely place, room was great — especially as we had a dog with us (they have a small number of dog friendly rooms). They have thought well about the ease of rooms with a dog and probably the best dog frienly room we have had as had good flooring and access straight outside. Was very clean and had everything we needed and more. Nice breakfast — was continental but had lots of choice. Would definately stay there again or recommend.

Could benefit from an English cooked breakfast. Otherwise, lovely.

Stayed here twice now, beautiful building, large and clean rooms. We had a Jacuzzi on our last visit, great for relaxing after a long hike up Scafell.

Clean and pleasant room, everything works just fine, staffs are very friendly, would like to visit again. Unfortunately our daughter became sick during stay, they offered some bread out of breakfast time as our daughter couldn't eat in the morning, also bit late check out allowed so that we don't need to wait too long at the bus stop. It was very pleasant stay.

A very pleasant hotel in a very pleasant location. The rooms are absolutely gorgeous, perfect for a honeymoon. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast was a little lacking, but still filling. Despite only claiming Wi-Fi in the lobby areas, I managed to get a connection in my room, which is a necessity these days. It could have been faster, but I don't think young, media consuming people is their target audience. My bed had a conveniently placed outlet by it. Physical keys, with only one per room is a little awkward; especially when rooming with three other people with different schedules. I wish I'd stayed for longer.

Booked a superior room and expected something similar to what was advertised on the website. I stayed in a small dingy room,, very disappointed. (breakfast was good)

Stayed here twice in the last 3 years. Hard to fault really. Clean rooms, jacuzzi bath, great breakfast options, good location friendly helpful staff. Would return to stay without a doubt. Got locked in our room once, than goodness it was in office hours and staff were on site (ask about the deadlocks).

We were very welcomed by staff at Brathay Lodge and when our daughter lost her wallet the staff went over and above to ensure the wallet was returned. Excellent location easy walking distance of the township. Easy to find. Great rooms for families and would return there.

Warm welcome from the owner and friendly and helpful staff made it a great place to stay. Everything in walking distance from the hotel. Comfortable large attic room was a perfect base to explore Ambleside. Don't let the dated decor put you off staying at this gem of a b&b.
