If you have an NMCI or government computer do not stay at this hotel. After 3 days of getting drug along by various desk clerks as well as the General Manager "AJ", they were unable to provide a functional wired internet connection. One clerk told me they had a wireless hub that they could let me use to run a wire to my work laptop. After following up, they didn't have one. Another told me they had a few rooms that had wired connections in them and some of those rooms would be opening up and I would be moved the next day. I went to the counter to check, and AJ informed me that they had no rooms with wired connections. Later that night I attempted to work from the only wired connections in the building (in the eating area) and the ports were dead. I approached the front desk and the girl behind the counter apoligized and said there was nothing she could do about it. (She could have notified a manager, or IT so they could plug the wires into the switch/router in their network room! ) That was the last straw. I asked for my receipt and checked out in the morning to move to the Residence Inn down the street. I would have stayed at the Fairfield, but they were remodeling their lobby and their pool was closed as well. That's not even mentioning the fact that their pool and hot-tub were both out of order. The pool had a very thick and nasty oily haze on the surface and you could see things popping around and moving on the surface of it. For an indoor pool. That is WAY too funky. You normally only see that when there's creatures living and moving around in an ill-maintained outdoor pool. The breakfast is decent, but they don't keep up with it and run out of items without replacing them. I'm usually one of the first ones to get in there in the morning, and I still saw a lack of items with no-one around to replace them. The GM at this hotel needs to be replaced. He obviously has no concern for retaining Holiday Inn Express's positive image, nor their customer's business. The first time I stayed here a year ago it was nice. But that was just a one-night quick stay and up in the morning. If you're in town for a few days or longer, I'd pick the Residence or Fairfield Inn.
