Reviews of Motel 6 Virginia Beach 2*
Horrible experience. Gladly the floors weren't carpeted-who knows what would have been hiding in them. The wood floors were beyond dirty. I dropped a couple of ice cubes on the floor. I took some tissue to wipe up the wet area & it was disgusting. So disappointing. When you turned the faucet on, it would spray out of the sink. There are too many negatives to list. I wasn't expecting the Ritz Carlton but this was just too bad to put into words.
The location was perfect. It was close to down town and VA beach. The elevator didn't work at first but eventually it worked later in the evening. This was my second time staying here and I didn't mind it all. The room I stayed in was an updated room so I appreciated that.
I didn't expect too much from a Motel 6 but this one didn't even reach those low requirements. The rooms smelled musty, was always warm (even with the AC on), the bathroom didn't seem clean, and smelled like urine. I stayed in room 203. The Wi-Fi was free. The pool area was clean and nice. The staff was top notch (5 star). They were very friendly, happy, helpful, and made the stay but better. Also the other rooms on our floor are being renovated and they worked early with loud knocking noises. Will only stay again if I'm on a budget.
Location was good, 20 minute drive to the beach and very close to shops and dining. Even the recent with renovations, still looks run down. Love that it was pet friendly! I still don't know if there was even an ice machine. Should probably let guests know up front that rooms do not have refrigerators or microwaves. Weird smell in the room too. Front desk was very nice over the phone but not so much in person.
Hotel didn't look like the pictures. The power was out for a couple hours and no form of compensation was offered. It was extremely hot during the time of no power. When the staff was asked about what was going on, they simply said the power is out in the area so I it's not our fault. I will not stay here again.
First room had dog hair still all over the floor. The lady from house keeping was awesome though and moved us to another room. We picked here because there was a pool but never got to use it because there was a bunch of kids in it unsupervised with no adults. My daughter tried to go in it once but the other children that were in the pool moved from one end to the end where we were making her uncomfortable and was jumping right in front of us splashing myself n my kids So we left the pool. Most Hotel staff was very pleasant. Lobby smelt of sewage and someone drunk threw up in the elevator.
The floors were dirty. The beds were terribly uncomfortable. There wasn't any any towels in our room or toilet paper. The stairwells are all rusted I couldn't even hold onto the rails as I'm walking up the stairs without getting my hands all dirty. The lady in the lobby the checkin lady Tiara was very nice. The Rooms are down to the Bare Bones no microwave no coffee pot no refrigerator. I even have to ask if I want an alarm clock. I will not be recommending this hotel and I will not be staying again.
Wasn't the cleanest room, the floor left your feet black. My room had no microwave or small fridge in it. The best part about this place is they allow dogs at no extra charge. With that said, dogs are everywhere, seems like every room has pets. It has a decent pool to enjoy and is close to the Mall and lots of Restaurants. My wife and I stayed to see a concert at a close by venue and that's about all its good for.
I was very dissatisfied with my check in. I had reservations confirmed at one price. At check in your staff tried to tell me I had to pay a higher price. I showed them my confirmation email. Phone number I was given to call was the wrong number. I had the worst experience checking in to this Motel 6. I was very unhappy. Called customer service and spoke to a representative that couldn’t help me then someone above him. I was not offered anything but an apology. Not even a discount or coupon for a future stay. The girl at the front desk finally agreed to adjust the cost to reflect my reservation price. I doubt that I will stay here again!
My family was visiting and we needed a room for the night that was affordable. So about 3 am my mother went to the bathroom and found it wouldn't flush (no water in tank). She went to the front desk to report the problem the woman at the desk told her there were no other rooms and that a matinence man wouldn't be in till later. She was not helpfully in any way. She was also entertaining a man at the time. Needless to say I would like a full refund as I don't believe I will ever get one I would like to say I will not be using your motel again and I will be telling everyone I know not to use your motel either.
Room was great; remodeled, clean, attractive. Front desk attendant was very friendly and check-in was a breeze. Traveling with a small dog, was perfect. Very appreciative of having no pet fee for my little guy. The bed itself wasn’t all that comfortable, but my pup was happy, and was worth it anyway. Thanks for a great last-minute stay.
Overall the hotels was good. Rooms was clean. Bathroom was clean. Was missing a cover on one bed but that was a simple mistake no biggie. Leaving the parking lot was my only issue. Turning left felt unsafe due to location of the exit. Would stay here again.
We were very satisfied with our overnight stay. The price was right, the room was clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We would not hesitate to stay at this location again.
I love this spacious hotel has pool and very nice.
This is my second stay at the Virginia Beach Motel 6. The first stay was GREAT! I was very pleased and was looking forward to my return visit. The second stay not so much. When I arrived they gave me Room 122.122 is right next to the lobby and I was traveling with a dog. Because of all the traffic and people getting in and out of cars and people heading to the lobby for ice or snacks or whatever my dog was barking constantly at all the noise. My dog is a show dog and used to traveling in motels and is usually very quiet. I was also troubled by the very loud traffic sounds. It felt like I was sleeping in the middle of the highway. I really did not sleep at all. To top things off the AC was not working properly. The following day I mentioned it to Crystal at the front desk who moved me to room 106. That room was much better. The AC worked. It was much quieter. I was not disturbed by the traffic sounds or the constant people traffic. My dog and I both slept well and were not Disturbed at all. Another complaint were the towels. They were gray, stained and very poor quality. I'm not sure I would return to this Motel 6. After my first stay in the summer of 2016 I left rave reviews on TripAdvisor stating that to my amazement I felt like I was in a five-star hotel. After this stay my review was not as good.
The people were really friendly, and the service was great. You guessed it, there is a but… we were in room 201, door said non smoking… ROOM SMELT LIKE A BAR ROOM WITH 10 SMOKERS. I will not stay at this Motel 6 ever again. If the room had been FRESH, it would have been a 5
Booked a room late Saturday (maybe 11pm). When I arrived the staff was sitting in the lobby on the couch playing loud music. I had to wait a minute before I was acknowledged by him. Then was told they didn't have any more rooms! Apparently the room that was booked had not been cleaned that day… When I walked out back to my car the staff told me there was 1 room left but the guest had not shown up yet… I am outraged about the entire situation and decided to take my business elsewhere. It's a cheap hotel but I didn't expect to get the run around. It was 4am in the morning… NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.
I checked into my room and the toilet wouldn't flush. Tried calling the front desk and the phone rang more than 50 times with no answer so I walked to the front desk and found the young lady working the front counter on her cell phone and she said she would be with me in a minute. After 5 minutes she hung up and helped me. She said there was nothing she could do about the toilet and offered to put me in a different room but I would have to pay the difference in the price. I refused to pay the difference and received an attitude. After several minutes I was able to get a room without paying the difference. Over all it was an unpleasant experience. I believe, as a paying customer, that I shouldn't have to wait for a worker to complete a phone call, obviously with a family member I concluded by the conversation I over herd, to receive poor customer service. There was a second front desk worker who was very helpful and apologetic about my situation. Based on this experience I am doubtful of a repeat stay.
I had reserved a room the day prior to check in, previously I had checked in between 11 to 12 no problem. Today I arrived and was immediately told there was no rooms that they were completely booked I informed the woman at the front desk I had a reservation she then continued to day I could not check in until 3 pm. I waited in the lobby for 2 hours I saw at least 10 people check out. Meanwhile the woman at the front desk was on her cell phone obviously not work related. Also the microwave was set on fire while I was waiting in the lobby. Then I saw a man check in so I confronted the woman at the front desk since I was told I was unable to check in until 3pm she then proceeded to call me crazy and completely disrespected me. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. Horrible customer service!
We really liked the room and how close you are located to everything. But, we kept having to get our key card redone because they were only doing it night by night. When we arrived we didn't have fresh sheets or towels. And we had to ask for room service because no one was showing up.
Stayed one night due to Memorial Service for family member. Very loud property. No sleep as doors slammed all night long, loud noises, children crying. Bathroom did not have ample linens to include enough towels, bath mat. Didnt use shower as it felt dirty. Lighting in bathroom horrific. Nothing to room, no microwave, no refrigerator. Desk needed to be replaced. Worn. Told Front Desk agent of complaints of noise. She only apologized for the inconvenience.
This place is a hidden, no frills motel. I was here for months & I didn't mind it. It has no fridge no micro no frills, but, it's updated & I liked it. The weekends were a bit busier, especially in the warmer weather so expect louder than normal. It takes dogs which is great! The area is hidden from crazy traffic & is nice for walking outside, yet close enough to everything! The staff, most of them, were great.
Stayed three nights. Was nice and clean, king size bed was so spacious and comfortable. I was excited about the modernization of room, wood floors, nice quilts, modernized sink. Everything was nice. Can't wait to go back in summer when pool is open.
Everything was fine when I checked in the first evening until I called the lobby for late check out the next morning. The room phone didn't work so I had to use my cell phone. After giving the receptionist my room number, she says " no, you're in 116", so I corrected her & said " no, I was put in 114". She then tells me that I was given the wrong room number, that I should have been in room 116. I was never given an apology. That explains why there was pet hair all over the floor, pet food pieces along the wall, and dirty bed sheets. I am bothered by this, not only because of how unsanitary the room was, but also because room 114 was vacant in the system, meaning they could have given another customer my room number without realizing it. I had my 11 month old daughter with me and they unknowingly put us in danger.
My only complaint would be that there was no microwave or mini fridge in the room. Room and all areas I saw were clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful and friendly. Pets were welcome. All in all, great experience.
Room was ok at best. Tub didn't drain properly when I showered. I'm only 5ft tall but water was up to my calves. Bed was very uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night and the floor sloped badly near the window. It is a convenient location to my job and the staff was friendly.
Nice room, unfortunately you couldn't open the window, air would have done well.
Staff very nice and helpful.
Happy again.
Enjoyed my stay. Staff was quiet and polite. Clean up could be better. And they need better food and Wi-Fi. Wasn't worth what I paid but was still nice.
I have never been so impressed by an entire staff at any establishment in my life! The consistent dedication to exemplary service and genuine compassion that I have received as a guest blows me away. I checked in as a domestic violence victim seeking refuge and was welcomed with support, assurance of my security and a warm hug from Ashley. This extraordinary service continued every day during my extended stay at motel 6, whether I needed towels at 3am, a room key replaced at midnight or help with lodging for a handicapped veteran, these people snap to the needs of their guests! From the front desk (crystal, Ashley, John) to management (Mr Perez) to the guest service specialist, Theresa to the hard working ladies who keep the property clean, to the technicians in charge of maintenance, no matter who I encounter or what the need, I know I will be greeted with a smile and a can do disposition. I can't even say enough to their credit. Thank you all my friends who left the light on for me!
I travel with my dogs constantly and love that there is not a fee to have them with me at Motel 6 but I find that 2/3 of the rooms I stay in are not completely clean from the pets before. I have encountered rooms with hair balls left from cats, vomit from some small animals that could crawl under the beds (at specifically this location) and quite a bit of pet fur/dust bunnies left over from previous guests and the apathetic cleaning. I spend a lot of money to keep my dogs up to date on treatments and vaccinations and they got fleas from a stay as well. If any bodily fluid is leftover from pets that are not treated any kind of virus or parasite could easily be spread. I feel that better lighting and cleaning regulations for, at the very least, the pet rooms should be enforced in order to keep guests happier and their pets safe from these issues. The staff has always been friendly towards me, it would just make a better stay if they could be a bit more attentive.
For 70 something dollars… I feel as room should have least had a microwave and refrigerator. There was one huge bare spot in room. As if where a dinning table or sofa could have been. Two stars for nice lady in lobby. Other than that.
This motel six was well below standard. I came with two friends from about four hours away, just to spend the night and then spend the next day at the beach. My standards were not high. Upon arriving, the check in staff was slow, but friendly (Crystal). Going up stairs we noticed first that the stairs were physically blocked off and that in case of fire we should use elevators. Any one who knows fire code would know this is a HUGE danger. When entering the room we noticed a low water level in toilet and some small fecal matter in the toilet. As soon as we flushed it the water over flowed onto the floor. Obviously no one cleaned or checked the toilet before our arrival. We then went down to the front desk and asked for a new room mentioning the toilet overflowing and that there is no fire escape for the third floor rooms. Crystal pretended to be unaware of the fact that the third floor had no fire escape and said we could jump over the block if needed. She then said she was leaving and we would have to wait for Mary to change our room. Mary was helpful and assisted in getting us a new room with a working toilet. No shampoos or conditioners in room, ran out of toilet paper, and o my two towels to shower with. The walls are super thin, so expect to hear people in other rooms. Also you have to pay for Wi-Fi.
The lady at check in was very friendly and helpful. She helped me get the correct room I had reserved and helped me to get the door open on the second room I was assigned. However, upon entering the room I noticed a musty moldy odor. I figured it was just the a/c being run in a room that hasn't been opened up for a couple weeks. No worries, it'll go away after some movement in the room, right? It was really late and I just wanted sleep anyway, so I got ready for bed and went to sleep. Upon waking up, the smell was still there. I did some searching to see if it could be something else and low and behold when I took the sheets of the bed, the mattress cover had moldy spots all over it. I couldn't believe I had just slept on that so I packed up and left without even staying my second night.
Front desk staff: Kendra was so friendly. She had a smile on her face from the moment we walked in until we completed our transaction. Elevator: It could use some attention. It smelled and the buttons didn't light up, rough short ride. Hallway: Could use an air freshener and a good vacuum. We had tons of debris left right outside our door. I assumed the housekeeper was coming back to vacuum, but it stayed there for our 2 day stay! Room: Very basic. Pictures showed different than what we had. No chairs so we had to sit on the bed our entire stay. Only one lamp and that was sticky. Headboard was sticky as well. No alarm clock. I'm not sure if this is normal amenities or not! The bed was HARD as a rock, like toss and turn all night hard! There were ants everywhere! Wood floor could have used a nice sweeping and mopping. There was hair and debris all over it. To the point I walked around in my flip flops all the time. Bathroom was clean, however, we did have to ask for towels and soap. The exterior: It was clean. Lots of lighting and parking. The lobby lounge was a nice touch including the sink! The location: It was nice. We were close to lots of shops and restaurants and only a 12 minute drive to the oceanfront. That was great. Not too far and just close enough.
Two night stay near the beach for a good value. Pool was closed on Friday with a sign up promising to be open on Saturday but was still closed Sunday morning when we checked out. Room was on the first floor. While room was clean and bed was comfortable, the room was on the first floor and was dark and had a musty smell. But overall a good stay.
Upon arrival our room was dirty, there was garbage from the previous guests all over the room floor. Beds did not have any bedding on them and there were dresser drawers all over the mattresses. The room smelled bad and of cigarettes even though it was supposed to be non smoking. I complained at the front desk and was moved to another "clean" room, but honestly I was grossed out of being without shoes on that floor. It was not clean. There were ants crawling everywhere on the floor near the windows and side table. The bathroom had a sewer smell that came up from the toilet specially at night. The whole hotel was not clean. The cleaning team pretty much just sprayed air fresheners in the hall ways and elevator. It was hard to ride the elevator for that reason. So we took the stairs often which had sticky residue all over the handle bars. We also had to ask for extra towels daily because our room seemed to only have 2 when we had 4 people checked in. Often the clean towels had hair pieces in the fibers from another guests. Not acceptable. The second day of our stay the beds were not made because there was a stuffed animal from my kid on the bed. On the third day when we went to go to sleep on the now made beds a pair of scissors (the kind used for haircuts) fell off on the floor from under my blankets. Not sure where that came from because that was not ours.
We booked online at the last minute trying to find someplace affordable but not in a bad neighborhood. Our online booking didn't make it to the hotel before we did. Just showed her the info from the booking on my phone and she matched the priced and booked us in right away. Great night sleep. Nice room and bed. Best deal in town.
The bed was comfortable that was probably the best thing about staying here other than the fact I was able to bring my dog. The pool was dark green when we got there then it was closed for most of our stay. The room was ok, the bathroom was fifthly. They have vending machines in the lobby with a horrible selection. TV had only a few channels and the TV made a high pitch noise while it was on. The AC did not work the best. You have to get a Wi-Fi password everyday and go through the hassle of entering it in everyday it was annoying, the internet was slow and weak. They have decent cheap rates and we got what we paid for.
I have been reading the many reviews posted and I had to agree with most of them, awesome staff… filthy and stinky rooms! The room smelled like mold, ants staying for FREE, the tub and toilet were nasty! We went to Food Lion and purchased bleach cleaner and sprayed everything down. We never complained due to the fact it was reasonable, and Teresa let us check in early, which was a blessing, we had driven 14 hours and needed showers! The pool was disgusting! We wanted a room with a pool but after venturing to go for a swim we found the water was very still, hair and feathers floating everywhere, chairs were so dirty… come to find out the pump wasn't operating! The front desk closed it immediately and said maintenance would fix it… chained still the next morning! I could go on and on about the filthiness of this hotel, the outside and entrance lobby is beautiful but what lurks from that point on… Beware! We have a lot of pics for proof of everything I've stated. I want to stress the staff is amazingly kind and helpful! We stayed July 10th and 11th and will never stay there again! We always love to stay at the chain of Motel 6, normally clean and fits our budget, very disappointed in Euclid Rd location.
We stayed at motel 6 in Virginia beach, the rooms were non smoking rooms, but smelled like cigarettes and had cigarette burns on the bed sheets. The first room they gave us, the toilet didn't work. After I checked in, I looked at my receipt and realized that they over charged me for my room. I had to bring my confirmation email up to prove it. Horrible service, stinky rooms.
I stayed here the night of the 6th! I stayed here before and it wasn't the most pleasant experience. Two years later and this place has turned around! Seems like they have remodeled the rooms! So much cleaner than before! Very very clean hard wood floors very quiet compared to others. The staff was so generous! I'm very impressed. The bathrooms were a little small, but that doesn't bother me at all! The beds were great and they serve coffee every morning which is pretty decent. Will come back next year.
It's pet friendly, the pool is clean, and the location is convenient. However, we were locked into our room for 15 minutes until they replaced the door plate, the non smoking floor was filled with smoke from rooms, someone was smoking on the elevator, and the rooms are as bare bones as you can get. One wooden chair, no fridge, no coffee maker, no shampoo and conditioner or lotion, etc. The other serious problem was sugar ants everywhere — nightstands, floor, and especially in the dog's food. There is also a daily code for internet PER DEVICE. On the last day, we were told they were "out of codes" and couldn't access the internet. We wouldn't stay here again.
Our room had a moldy stale smell coming from the ac unit. We had to switch rooms. Both the original room had cigarette ash in the dresser and nightstand doors they were both supposed to be non-smoking rooms. Of our 5 night stay we had to have out room keys reprogrammed all but 1 days. The staffed blammed it in them being need cell phones or other cards but we were very carfull with this after rinsing the elevator up to a room we could not get into everyday. On the next to last day of this I was told by one of the rotating front desk staff that they have to program the keys to the number of nights were stay which was not done right the previous 4 times. We choose this hotel because it was pet friendly and had a pool. But they say we chose to stay in and go to the pool the gate was locked with a chain. I asked the front desk staff who didt believe me it was locked untilni had them come out and show them. They said they would need to get a hold of maitence as they did not know what matenance had locked it. Note that bear not pool closed sign. The water randomly lost pressure in the shower. The noise. And other no smoking policies are not inforced. As our hall would stink of weed and we had people yelling loudly yelling in the hallway. A large family had multiple rooms on our floor who left there rooms propted open blaring there tv's and hanging out in the hallways blocking exits at times.
The motel cancelled our pre-booked reservation when we first got there. The lobby area didn't even have a public restroom for us to use while we waited. Eventually we ended up getting a room so we were willing to give it a chance. But it was even more disappointing when we got into the room. It smelled like cigarettes in there to begin with, so we called the front desk and they offered to bring Febreeze. The bathroom is the sketchiest part. It takes 5-10 to get the shower at the right temperature and pressure, and then another 15 trying to shower with abnoxiously low-pressure water. It has so much potential to be actually nice if they made an effort to fix their plumbing issues and customer service. Never staying here again.
Last year I stayed at the Motel 6 and was very pleased, so I went ahead and booked for Memorial Weekend 2016 in advance. However, this year I was rather disappointed. I'm not one to make complaints, but anyway… First things first, I booked a non-smoking room, last year I tried to check in early and I wasn't allowed so I assumed if I wasn't allowed last year it would be the same this year, spent the day on the beach, went to the hotel to check in and find that there are indeed NO non-smoking rooms available, although I booked a non-smoking room. They are "first come first serve, " which I was completely unaware of… they also said "it's a preference, it's not guaranteed, " alright then… 1. We don't smoke, therefore, we don't want to stay in a room that wreaks of cigarette smoke, and as you know that smell clings to everything. 2. My friend has asthma, and cigarette smoke induces it, which is the main reason we got a non-smoking room, but I settle for a smoking room, because that's all they have, they are completely booked. We got to our room, start to settle in and notice that they put dryer sheets all over the room to "freshen it up, " and the floors CLEARLY had not been touched in what seemed like days. We didn't even want to walk in the room barefoot because you could feel the dirt sticking to your feet, and there was gobs of hair all over the place, so we huff and puff, but carry on.
Although the staff was very helpful the place is disgusting! The floor felt like it has not seen a broom or mop in weeks! The bed sheets and pillowcases smelled like cigarettes and were dirty in a nonsmoking room! I found a pillowcase with a blood stain on it! The bathroom floor was dirty and the tub could use a few bottles of bleach!
Paid for a non-smoking room. When I arrived, and walked in, it was CLEARLY a smoking room. It reeked, and even had an ash-tray provided. When I called the front desk, they told me the room I asked why I received a smoking room when I had paid and signed for a non-smoking room, and they said I WAS in a non-smoking room. Why would there be an ash tray in a non-smoking room? Gross!
This hotel is pet friendly so be prepared for it to smell just like dogs. I first arrived to a messed up toilet. Then they changed us to a room that was locked from the inside then they changed us again to room that smelled terribly bad. Not only did it smell bad which it smelled straight dogs but the floor felt sticky like they didn't even mop the floor after a animal was there. We could close the curtain in the room and also the sheet had a stain so we went all the way down for new sheets and they made us changed them our self didn't once offer someone to come up to do it. There was dog hair basically everywhere as well. We changed rooms again the next day because I could not bare the smell nor how dirty the floors felt. Which from there we should have been offered a refund. That following morning we requested to be changed again and they changed us to room that smelled just like cigarettes which I requested a no smoking room which that was obviously a lie. Horrible experience I have never been to such horrible hotel in my life. This is the first and last motel I will ever go to.
No hot water dirty no remote for TV outlets didnt have covers toilet seat was falling off thin walls could hear everything from the other rooms.
Just walked into our room and instantly walked out n called around to stay elsewhere. The room had a foul odor, there were cigerette holes and what looked like blood stains on the blankets.
I went down to Virginia Beach on Friday, April 8, 2016 to officiate over a wake for a good friend so I booked a room at Motel 6 being I was only staying one night. When I got there the front staff was very courteous and friendly that was the only thing good about this hotel and is what they are getting the one star for. When we got up to our rooms it was like a crack house, with a working TV. The room was dingy, there was no mini refrigerator, no microwave, no coffee pot, NOTHING, JUST A BED AND TV. Then I went to the front desk to get an iron to iron my shirts and I was told that there was only one iron for the whole hotel and it was out. When my friends who were with me asked about a refrigerator they were told that there were only three refrigerators in the whole hotel and that they move them from room to room as needed. Needless to say we ran out of that hotel and got our money back! Thankfully we were able to find rooms at the Wyndham hotel and it was awesome! Swimming pool, weight room, irons, microwaves and refrigerators in every room and the cost was two dollars cheaper than Motel 6. UNBELIEVABLE! I will never, ever stay in a motel six again and the commercial that they have about "They'll leave the light on. " They would probably have more success getting people to stay if they keep the light off! Don't waste your time!
Best hotel in the area I've stayed at. Staff is always friendly. Very clean. Always smells like they just cleaned it. Only thing is going up the stairs made me a bit uneasy with the appearance of it looking like its going to break from under me any second due to rust and normal wear and tear.
The staff were very friendly and professional and the room was very clean. The motel is a bit off the beaten path, which was questionable when I first arrived, but I had no safety issues. The room did not have the amenities of a more expensive place (like a coffee machine in the room, or an ironing board, or a refrigerator or microwave). But for the price, I got a pleasant modern motel, nice, efficient staff, and a clean room. The lack of the room amenities cannot be counted against the motel. If they had them, it would have been more expensive. I am VERY happy with the value for my money and the quality of my stay.
My stay at this hotel was wonderful. I feel that the room was very nice for the price charged. The newer wood laminate flooring in the room, rather than carpet that traps dirt and odors was great. The staff was very nice and courteous. I did not use the Internet, pool, or vending area. So no comments about those services. The bath towels were on the small side, but were generously provided.
Close to the main hiway but not a lot of noise. Very comfortal bed… I come to Va Beach every 3 months for one or two nights I will be staing here.
In an attempt to save a few $$, we stayed here. But quickly realized this was a mistake as our room had a "moldy" smell to it. The staff was very responsive and immediately gave us a new room, but even then the second room smelled moldy. Pros: Low Cost Nice Staff Con: Moldy Smell.
Cannot say enough about the staff! Wonderful, personable people. Shout out to Brianna, Teresa, and Shanique! Pool was great, and our dog was very happy.
Saw this hotel online the week before and wrote down the address just in case. We were at Kings Dominion but thought we might detour to VA Beach for one day. Got there at 1130 pm and found the cost was double what I had seen it online for, but it was late and it seemed clean so we stayed. The room was very nice, cean and the staff was very polite and friendly. Nothing wrong with the hotel at all, but for a place to lay my head, it was far too expensive. The sign outside stated a price, and I was charged 20 dollars over that price after checking in. I asked about the difference and the clerk stated their sign only goes up to 99.99 so they didn't have another digit. I should have argued but I was tired and just wanted a place to sleep. Very clean and nice. Room size was small, but bathrooms were clean and bed was ok. My wife thought it was too firm but I didn't mind the beds. AC worked. TV and all lights worked. No fridge or microwave. Kinda simple for the price we paid but it was clean…
The hotel staff were very friendly. They recognized my wife and I every time we walked through, made small talk, etc. The room was ok. Faux wood floors and it was styled modern. The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever slept on in a hotel, but the place seemed clean. It was one of the best values in the area. We couldn't beat the price. The area wasn't very close to the beach, but there was a lot of shopping and restaurants close by.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Staff was super nice and always accommodating. Our room was clean and we had a very comfortable king size. We would highly recommend staying at this Motel 6.
Had a great night rest checked in, no problem, good location. And they did leave a light on for me thanks.
ANTS AND RUDE STAFF AND NO FREE Wi-Fi! Upon our arrival after a 10 hour drive we had to wait 15 minutes for the hotel staff to help another dissatisfied customer before we even got to check in, when there was obviously more than 1 woman that could have checked in the other guests. Once we got to the counter the woman who helped us stopped 2 or 3 times to do other things like answer the phone, or grab pool towels while we were checking in. Our room was infested with ANTS when we got there, and there was no refrigerator or microwave. The overall cleanliness of the hotel was less than satisfactory. We requested room service and for someone to do something about the ants, it was another 2 hours before they cleaned our room, and sprayed for ants. The next day the ants were back with a vengeance. Oh, and Teresa was super rude and sarcastic, she should NOT be working customer service. And there wasn't free Wi-Fi, I can pay 1$ at a McDonalds and use their Wi-Fi but the hotel charges for it after almost paying 80$ a night? A bunch of crap.
This is a non-smoking hotel however it was quite obvious there were several guests smoking both cigarettes and weed. The Wi-Fi I paid in advance for did not work, refund issued promptly though. The last day we were there the TV signal stopped working. The only saving grace for this motel was the staff.
Nice sized room, pleasant staff, great location. Our room floor was covered in sand and the shower too. We asked for a broom which was quickly brought up. Bathroom needs renovating.
G-R-O-S-S-! I discovered after sitting on the toilet, that there was a puddle of urine on the floor next to me, so I had them move me to another room. The second room had smudges of s — t on the ground, so I had them move me to a third room, which also had a small dingleberry turd on the bathroom floor. I would NEVER recommend this place to a friend, nor will I EVER stay here again. The only positive thing I will say was that the front desk clerk (the white lady who worked daytime) was very friendly, however, the other nightime clerk didn't show the slightest apology for my troubles (big mistake). Whoever their maid service is, needs to be fired, and hire some competent staff. One more thing, stop emailing me coupons, it's obvious I will never come back.
Not bad at all for a motel. Good price. My room was very clean, very friendly staff. Comfy king sized bed. I agree with all the good reviews posted. Stayed for 3 nights. WI FI wasn't working good with my laptop so we got a free Wi-Fi pass just in case it started working.
Rooms were clean and the renovation looked great, staff was super friendly, house keeping checked on us everyday. Theresa checked me out and and made sure we were happy leaving. Definitely will be returning.
It was not bad. Staff was friendly and property was clean. This Motel had been recently remodeled which cost me and extra $10 per night. It was probably worth it. The bedside tables were Really Small. The room had been remodeled but the Toilet and Sink had been skipped. The cigarette burn on the top of the toilet sear was a nice touch. Bed was pretty comfortable. For a short term stay, I would stay there again.
Friendly service all 3 days. Check in was fast and simple. Price was great. Room was extremely clean. Cleaning staff was very nice. Pool was clean. Free coffee in the morning — very nice. Great location tucked away just off all main roads in the area. People that write bad reviews must be super picky or complainers no matter what.
I stayed for two months, too long. First, free coffee is the color of weak tea. Might be caffeinated, might be decaffeinated. Staff said you never know. They charge 3 dollars per day, per device, to use the Wi-Fi (that only works half the time), which I think is silly. If you walk on the new "hardwood floors" in the rooms, wear flip flops. The bottoms of your feet will turn black. I switched rooms twice. Nice flat screens in the rooms. Niether room had a iron or ironing board. Neither room had a working latch on the door. None of the rooms have coffee makers. Some rooms have mini fridge and microwave, some don't. My first room did. My second didn't, and when I asked staff, they told me I couldn't have one in my second room. Luck of the draw, I guess. If you stay on the weekend, then watch out. The cheap rates attract weekend parties, and things can get loud. Police cars in the parking lot are a common sight. I overheard staffers saying the motel attracts men who cheat on their wives. This is partly because of the cheap rates, easy access off the interstate, and discreet parking lot in the back. When I stayed there, they were undergoing a long "renovation, " and during the day all I heard is Jack hammers. Plenty of beds, furniture, etc. Were left outside in the back parking lot, overlooking guests rooms, to get soaking wet whenever it rained.
I loved my stay at this Motel 6. Everything went perfectly as planned and the hotel staff were EXTREMELY helpful. We had to ask for forks (for take out food) and one attendant pulled some out of her own lunch bag for us, and when I needed a pen to take back to my room, the attendant handed me the one in her hand. I was exceptionally pleased with my stay and would definitely recommend it to any one interested.

The room was not clean. I had to clean the room upon entering. The floors were filthy. Housekeeping cane but never came back. The beds were very unfomfortable and need new box springs. The bushes around the back by the pool caused a safety concern to me since people could hide and assault someone. The best part was checking in. Theresa was a doll. She was so very helpful. She was warm and welcoming and very positive. Unfortunately I would not recommend this Motel 6 for a place to stay.
