Great rooms. Very comfortable and a great view. Will def stay again.

My kids and I greatly enjoyed our mini vacation at Virginia beach this week. A great part of that was our accommodations at Ocean Key Resort. The staff was incredibly helpful and cheerful and accommodating. Autumn was ESPECIALLY kind, cheerful, helpful and a true asset to the resort. Our suite didnt have a balcony which I wish it had but otherwise it was great. The kitchen was very nicely stocked with most anything you wld need. The only other negative would be that the hot tub was out of order.

I was especially impressed with the manager, Mr. Mitchell. He helped me with an upgrade request, and I was also happy to see the safe measures they had taken to protect the safety of all guests in this Covid environment. The entire staff was pleasant and responsive to any repair or request. I would highly recommend Ocean Key for your VA Beach vacation.

Very nice and clean. Good customer service and everyone is smiling and happy to help you. They try to make everything more easy for you and your family.

They have neat things to do on the 3rd. Floor each nite, if you don't feel like going out you have something to do inside the Resort!

It's an enjoyable Family Resort to stay right across the street from Boardwalk and beach. Carnival not a far walk and Ice Cream parlor near by. Nothing beats have a 1bd room condo with all amenities needed. Just bring the groceries!

Love this place and all the activities they have.

The staff is friendly and very helpful. The rooms are clean and roomy with full kitchens. Great place to spend your holiday.

The Ocean Key Resort is a great place for families, couples, and singles! Definitely a fun place to be!

Friendlypeople they're helpful. The pool and jacuzzi kids love it grandkids. Recreation pool something for the kids it's nice.

It was a great holiday stay back home for Christmas! Leann Glover set us up with reservations quick and easy and super last minute on my end so that was awesome! the pool was a great perk for Christmas Eve fun and the little Italian place connected to the lobby was great for a late night Christmas Eve dinner when most places were closed we didn't even have to leave the building. The beds we're comfy and the rooms were clean and rather large compared to other places we have stayed.

clean & comfortable. The maintenance men Gary,
Antonio, Lovarris & Mike were very professional & helpful. Whtever needed to be done they made sure it was done. The young lady Megan at the Activities center was helpful giving us restaurants to check out. The front desk made sure tht we were taken care of all our needs!. Rms 922-923 had such a nice view as well!.

The staff was very friendly and everyone was very accommodating. The location was nice. Being at the end of the strip is a plus if you like to be in the action, but don't want the congestion. I felt like I was at home away from home. I also enjoyed the pool hours. Having a little extended time during the "Adult swim" hours is a nice option to relax before bedtime. I will be recommending this property to all my friends and family.

This resort has come a long way but there are still some areas for improvement. I'll start with the pros: friendly staff, convenient location, nice new pool furniture, and lots of crafts for the kids. There is also ample furnishings in the rooms. The kitchenette doesn't have an oven, but the microwave has a convection setting and works really well. There are three flat screen TVs in the 2 bedroom units. Cons: They really need to work on cleaning! The pool area didn't have a trash can so people tend to just leave their trash (one lady even cleaned hair out of her hair brush and threw it on the ground — gross! ) Lots of sand in the pool (which is hard to avoid since people aren't considerate about showering off after going to the beach). The rooms also needed a lot of attention — dusty and mold in the bathroom. The furniture and carpeting are dated and worn. Another issue that we have had with every visit is the A/C. No matter how low you try to set the thermostat, you're lucky if you get below 75 degrees in the summer — even with leaving all of the interior doors open for air flow and making sure that the exterior door stays closed. So — overall — not a bad place to stay but definitely areas for improvement to get to the 5-star level.

As an owner this is the best investment we've ever done. The amount of vacation per year that we spent are all well worth it. This is a great spot and we can here as much as we want and use the pool, jacuzzi, recreation room and stay for the weekend and even for social events at any of our 3 time share resort. I recommend owning one of them at least. I tell you it's all worth the price.

Great staff! They were very accommodating and helpful. Would recommend this for someone with lower budget. Only drawback is resort is a little dated. I would go back if I’m back in area though.

My husband Keith Ellison and I, Dawn Ellison, had an awesome stay at Ocean Key Resort. We were celebrating our first wedding anniversary July 22, 2018 and wanted to have a relaxing and special weekend. We want to say a special “thank you “ to Tish Purnell who did an outstanding job accommodating us with the room we desired. She was cordial and efficient. We were also also pleased to see her when we arrive. The other staff members were also pleasant and professional. Our room was great as well as our view. We highly recommend others to stay at your resort. This was our first but won’t be our last visit with you. Thank you, Dawn Ellison.

Not sure I will be staying again. Very disappointing. The room had hair all over the tile floors and the floors just looked disgusting, their was leftover food from previous guests in the kitchen sink drain, and sand in the bathtub. Housekeeping staff needs to seriously step it up. I could not get over how dirty the room was. Cleanliness is everything and made for a bad initial first impression. It is also very noisy. You can hear every car that drives by and many are playing extremely loud music at night. The parking area is the worst I’ve ever seen. The spaces are so tight I can’t even open my doors enough to get my kids out of their car seats. I literally have to buckle them by climbing over the front seats after I get in.

The room that we stayed in was a little smaller than what we expected but overall it was a comfy stay, especially the king size bed! I enjoy the indoor pool because the weather at first was horrible but the pool help very much. The restaurant beside the lobby was very delicious I give that five stars. And all the staff here were very friendly! I've enjoyed staying at Ocean Key Resort and well be gladly coming back in the future.

We're visiting Ocean Key again this year and last year we were generally happy. The room was good, not great, but no complaints — just showed a little wear, but not bad. Pool area was clean, but the child/adult hours were not enforced. I understand theory, if no adults show up, let the kids play, but when you get off the elevator and see 20 kids in there, you turn around, because you don't want to be scrooge. The staff was friendly and restaurant attached were good. The only downsides were (1) the parking lot is very tight, if you have a large vehicle it could be difficult to get in a space, (2) not necessarily the hotels fault, but the hotel had to call the cops for the folks in the next room over, because the parents were having a domestic incident while a toddler was alone in the hallway.

The hallways & rooms smells bad (carpet issue) our door was off the hinges so it's very loud opening & closing. Let's talk about blonde hair everywhere, which means they don't clean very well. There was blonde hair in the covers, in the bathroom sink. This places is just dated. The shower was dirty, they didn't clean the soap scum from the previous people. The front desk staff weren't very friendly. The guys walking around maybe maintenance? Were the friendliest people there. this place is dated!

Road and other noises are very noticeable even on the 8th floor, but overall a great location and comfortable room.

Its just off the beach. They advertise ocean front. But… depending on what floor your on yeah you can see some of it. Friendly staff nice accommodations well maintained and clean. Just across the street, fabulous place to eat Watermen's.

We love spending time at the Ocean Key resort. The staff try to accommodate all requests and, while we had some issues with the A/C in our unit, the units themselves are well appointed and up to date. The location is perfect — right across the street from the beach and, on the other side of the building, right across from the inlet. They offer crafts and tours and they have an indoor pool that was pretty clean. There's also a game room with a pool table, air hockey table, and some arcade games, TV and an outdoor seating area. The fitness area is for older teens and adults only. You can check out books and movies as well.

This hotel was nice the room was clean, the only reasons I am taking off a star is because upon arrival there were several employees around but only one was able to check us in so we had to wait several minutes for the attendant to finish his phone calls before even responded to us. When we tried to get ice from the machine it came out dirty as if they have not been cleaned, (that can make someone sick). Also when booked over the phone I was told there was no ocean side rooms available but I didn't see many guest there that week (it's off season). On a good note the staff we encountered the rest of our stay was very nice and always greeted us.

Very nice place away from all the hustle and bustle. The service was very friendly. Located right on the waterfront. The have lots of banquet and conference rooms with stores on location.

Good location. 1 block from beach. Small pool with Jacuzzi. Small kitchen fully equipped. A little outdated. No housekeeping unless you pay. Friendly staff.

Ideal location. Good price for suite off season. Slightly dated. If you want a fancy hotel this isnt your place. No housekeeping services. But if you want a suite with a full kitchen this is ideal.

Very nice and helpful staff. Rooms were pretty run down, very small (it said it sleeps 4, but only had one bed, the other was a worthless pull out couch). Things were dirty as well.

It's always a good experience for us here. The rooms are clean and comfortable, there is a great game room/common area, and the pool and hot tub are a great spot to relax. Also, being right across the street from the beach is fantastic.

Check in was not friendly. Rooms are advertised as all ocean view. That is true, but in my one bedroom suite the view is through a small window in the bedroom and at a distance. I was expecting a better view. Room does have everything that was advertised, but it is tiny. It is supposed to sleep four, but I can't imagine more than two people being comfortable in a room. I was disappointed, but it was clean, comfortable, and everything promised was delivered in some fashion.

Worst customer service ever! Been all over the country in hotels or time shares. Felt like I was bothering them for doing there friggin job. Not welcomed well to begin with. Then slept in the most uncomfortable pull out bed. I would have slept the same with no mattress! Next morning I asked to have it replaced. Woman at desk was annoyed! It's your job! When finally agreeing to get my mattress replaced guess what? I come back to my room to mattress laying against the wall! For me to change? Screw you! I'm on vacation. Was going to buy the time share off my aunt but want nothing to do with this place now. Y'all lost at least 5 grand a year from me not going. Great job losers!

For the price this place was great. It's down at end of boardwalk so d ont expect to be in middle if all the action. Kitchenette had everything we needed. Pool and hot tub were perfect. Friendly staff Parking was a nightmare. Too tight.

My family and I had a wonderful time. The room were clean and well stock! The front desk is very courteous and helpful. The housekeeper staff are every nice. I will recommend this place to others. Thank you for making our week very special!

Great sales pitch. We didn't buy but not the typical timeshare high pressure. Aaron was fantastic and understanding. If we buy a timeshare we will go to him and VSA.

Very nice staff. Helpful when asked anything. Thats the good. The bad. One bed for 4 grown sisters first. A weak pullout couch second. Grimy small pot third. Not cleaned up completely fourth. Little dust here and there. Pay for van ride to mall fifth. One day so far.

I have been a timeshare owner here for 22 years and there is always room for improvement. Elevators have always been worn out and slow. It seems everytime one is disabled. Tvs never have good reception and can never get good channels. Housekeeping is always stingy with towels and linen exchange no matter how big the party.

So so place. Lobby small. Elevators slow. Pool small. Kitchens small. Dylan in activity center is very nice and helpful.

The stay here has been nice. Only things I've found problems with have been the extremely slow elevator, some channels in the TV won't come in and the pool area has been full of rude parents and their non caring kids. Otherwise nice place.

Almost gave it a 3 because it was a nice rm and all of the staff except the front desk attendants were nice. However the a/c unit was very loud and even after maintenance took a look the could not fix it, so it was hard to sleep at night. Not to mention that the drink machine on EVERY Floor had an out of order sign on it. I asked for extra towels and after a hour and a half have not received them. The day I decided to use the pool the kicked us out because it needed to be mainteneced. It was reasonable price and only 1 block from the beach but next time I might go back to the Atrium or Ocean Sands.

Greet location and rooms. Lobby smelled strongly of chlorine, since it was really too close to the pool. Still, would stay again.

We enjoyed our time at Ocean Key. The staff was always friendly and helpful. It is a small place, but is nice. There are small issues with cleanliness, but not a big deal. It was generally quiet. The rooms were not large, but was fine for 2 adults and 2 children. The kitchen was tiny, but the microwave/convection oven and the stove-top was sufficient to meet our needs. We ate the majority of meals in the room. The pool and hot-tub were nice. It was never very busy and was plenty of room for our children to play. Although it was not directly on the beach, being right across the street from the beach was not an issue. It would have been nice to have been in a room with balcony to have enjoyed the beach view. It was close to a couple of beach playgrounds, one in each direction from the hotel. This was a HUGE plus with our 4 year old. Their common area / activity area was nice. The staff there was very accomodating. We would go back to the hotel again, if we decide to go back to Virginia Beach. Unfortunately, during the off-season the dredging done by the city with black-muck with chunks of who-knows-what was spewing into the water not far from the hotel. It grossed my family out and may keep us from returning to the area for a very long time.

A Happy New Year It Was Not! I was invited as a guest to celebrate the New Year for 2016. When I arrived and ask the front attendants for a parking pass and after the young white lady found out the room number, she then ramble about the guest of the room only asked for 3 parking passes. The same attendant then took the time to tell me about the noise levels in Virginia Beach and after two warnings, we will be asked to leave the facility. I was a little taken aback because I own several timeshares and have had visitors to my room and have been a visitor and have never been told "the rules' like that lady spoke to me. Once I regain my composure, I stated to the young lady, "From a professional standpoint, I truly believe you need to tell the person who rented the room the information you just told me. " And I walked away. Later, after everyone were thrown out of the room, it became obvious to me that this room was being targeted. I will never advise anyone of color to rent from this timeshare ever.

Fast and friendly front desk, great view of ocean from our bedroom, and very clean as s well. We forgot our bottle opener and there was one in stock, woo hoo.

This was the worse "resort" I have ever stayed at! It's a dirty, filthy old hotel. All floors were dirty and it was months of accumulated dirt. There were cockroaches! RCI needs to disassociate its name with this place immediately! There was nothing great at all about this place. STAY AWAY! There are numerous other hotels along the beach that I'm sure would make you happy. How sad to wait so long to take a vacation, only to have it be a nightmare!

Great ocean view for rooms ending in 01-04

The room was nice. But we had two fire alarms in one week. Bad room service.

You won't get the view of the sea from room. Buts its near by beach. Don't like the pool timing as when its raining you have to stay in room. Staff are very good and pizza was excellent. Restaurant staff was great and very friendly.

It's not right on the beach but close, not brand new accommodations but decent, staff was courteous with the exception to one girl named Taylor. Being our first time we were unaware there was adult swim hrs from 9pm to 11pm and we had taken our 13 and 10 yr old swimming. She came and kicked us out but her attitude talking to my wife and I was as if we were children. No other adults were in the pool at the time and I hope the resorts look into changing their pool hrs or policy. At least consider a change if accompanied by parents. We don't have a place to swim back home so any pool time is fun for our family. Until this changes I'm going to look at other resorts down here that are more family friendly with their pool hrs.

Overall I think the Ocean Key was great. We had a problem with the pull-out sofa bed when we got into the room and Mary at the front desk had it taken care of immediately. The room was clean and although small, it had everything you needed and there is complimentary washer/dryers on 2 floors. The staff was great and very accommodating. I would recommend the Ocean Key and I would stay here again.

Overall it's not terrible. The pictures online are very inaccurate. Our room was really old. And even the linens for our sofa bed had tears and holes in them. The staff was nice.

I stayed here with my Family for a week, it was amazing. The people there are nice and also its close to the Beach.

We have gone to this resort for 8 years in a row. If it wasn't free I would do a place right on the boardwalk (there are a ton of places) but we use my Grandmother's timeshare here. This last visit (Memorial Day week, 2011) we had to have our room changed. The people in the room beside us must have been chain smoking. It was horrible and the manager did nothing to help us out. We had to finally ask a maintinance guy to come to the room to prove it was smoky : — (The front desk happily moved us to a different room. Crappy manager but otherwise a great place. The beds are soft and lumpy due to the very thick bed pads, all of them that we've used have been. They also don't use any air conditioning in the hallways or lobby so it's really stuffy but you can set your own temp in your unit.

When I first read these reviews I was pretty worried after I booked my vacation here, but I could not have been more pleased when I got there. The place was great, supplying us with 2 rooms each with a king-sized bed and 2 flat screen tvs. Everything seemed to be newly renovated so the place was in pristine condition. The view wasn't the best since we were on the side opposite of the ocean, but me and my friends could care less since we came down to party. Hotel management staff did seem somewhat useless at times and it was rather annoying having to call everytime you wanted the towels and sheets changed (which never happened because we slept in 'til noon everyday). Overall though, the place was very nice with a price we couldn't beat. We booked it through my aunt's time share and it came out to $164 a room for an entire week! I brought 7 of my friends down with me so it was very affordable to say the least once we split it all up. Oh, and we came down during early May, when the party season apparently hadn't started yet and it was mostly families on the beaches, but we made do. Would definitely stay at the resort again, but would probably rather have stayed at a place that had some younger college kids in the area.
