Good for what it is… clean hotel with free breakfast in a good location. 2 issues I ran into… 1) bathroom light above the sink wouldn't turn on part way thru the stay 2) tub spout was loose. Neither were a big deal and didn't affect my stay. Let the front desk now about them when we checked out and they were already getting these fixed.

I had a great stay. The room was perfectly clean and looked recently remodled. This Hampton is wonderfully close to Minute Maid Park.

Didn't realize I would be so close to Minute Maid Park and other venues. Does have valet service but easier to use shuttle for places within a mile. Val and Ashlee were a great help. Not allowed to spend another day due to hotel being booked. Bummer, I would have enjoyed another night. Recommend having bar keeper that can stay at bar. Left unattended several times (she was chit chatting with receptionist one time so absence not always due to getting food and there were customers).

This is a great hotel with a good location that is close to food restaurants. You need to use their valet to park, so be prepared for that. The rooms are big and nicely laid out.

Decent hotel however, it is in poor service for housekeeping to come at 8:30 in the morning as if you have checked out attempting to clean your room. What's worst is that she didn't even allow time for you to answer the door before she came barging in. Ok she's sorry awesome but not sorry enough that she refrains from doing the exact same thing less than 2 hours later! As a Hilton Honors member and former employee I do NOT recommend nor will I EVER stay in this hotel again!

Hotel worked out very well to go to Astros games and eat at great places within walking distance! Staff was very kind and helpful and the breakfast selection provided a lot of options.

A great nights sleep, in a very nice room. The only detractors were: 1. Not being warned of the $50 'deposit' for possible room charges — seems strange to take money in advance, although beneficial for the hotel as they presumably earn interest over the 3-5 working days that they hold on to it; 2. The cockroach that crawled out of a vent and scuttled across the floor and behind TV, which I eventually trapped in a bin, and the hotel staff kindly destroyed.

Great hotel. Nice staff good bar. Only take away is bar closes at 10 on Wednesday.

I loved this place. The lobby and the room were very clean and modern looking. They serve free snacks and drinks in the lobby in the afternoon, which was pretty nice. The location is very convenient, walking distance to the baseball stadium as well as the convention center.

Hotel looks nice but honestly it's terrible. I've stayed at motels better than this place. There is no complementary water but there are water bottles that are $6, breakfast was terrible, shower water pressure was extremely low. All around terrible!

Lovely rooms with nice curtains and furniture. There was one weird quirk with the door to the closet doubling when it slides over as the door to the bathroom. Had some trouble trying to get out of the bathroom one time while my roommate was trying to grab clothes from the closet. Otherwise lovely location, nice pool and bars, TVs we're playing the world cup over breakfast… had a lovely time.

Fantastic hotel! In town to see Welshly Arms and this is by far the best Hampton Inn we've ever stayed in. Great staff, good breakfast, very thoughtful and nicely appointed guest rooms.

Stayed two nights to support a friend auditioning for The Voice. No issues the first night, but the second night was a nightmare. The security guard was harassing hotel guests. After we left the hotel bar, she came to our room and said there had been a noise complaint, when we had just gotten to our room from downstairs. Nearly every room on our floor had loud music coming from them, HELLO… THE VOICE competitors were probably 3/4 of the hotel, but they were not told anything. When my friend went down to complain, the security guard harassed her again and they called the police and kicked her out of the hotel at 2am in downtown Houston, claiming she was screaming and cussing at them. And because she had been drinking, she couldn't take her car and go home, but had to get off the property immediately. Her husband had to drive 3 hours to pick her up, since I don't live close to her and had another friend there as well. Not only did they put her in danger, but this place cost us close to $400 for a two night stay to be treated terribly, NEVER AGAIN. Also, if you use the hotel bar, ask for an itemized receipt or you will probably pay for drinks you didn't order, like we almost did.

Horrible. Rooms were nice but staff were beyond rude. Especially security. Saw a lady in bar question her bill for food and drinks. It was super crowed because of The Voice auditions. Guess he charged her for someone else's drinks along with her own. I did see him fix the bill for her. But then the attitude came on. Like harsh towards her and her friends. Told her friemd to quit being loud because there are children around. The lady was a hoot, just laughing and having a good time it seemed. Then the lady laughed At HIM because it's a bar! no kids are in there which made him more mad! They proceeded to target the ladies after that. I saw them even kick out one of The ladies. All cuz she caught The bar tender being shady. The voice couldn't have picked a worse city to do it in. Folks around rest of downtown were the same. Rude. Unaccomidating. Just horrible.

Room was great as was the included breakfast. Stay was a perfect 5/7. Would hotel again.

Rooms are clean. Service was eh… Front desk people do not smile. Valet is expensive and not super great. Told them we were coming down and it still took them another 5-10 minutes to bring our car around. It didn't seem like they were super packed that night too. Told me they charge for makeup wipes. Other Hampton properties give those out for free. At check in, they did not recognize my hhonors or anything. I will only be staying here again cause the room is clean, not cause of the service.

The hotel was nice enough. Valet parking is a tad expensive ($30/night) but what can you expect for downtown Houston. Overall a pleasant stay in the heart of downtown.

The hotel is nice and the staff is friendly. It's located in the heart of downtown and is near the lite rail train for easy access to other areas.

Excellent customer service! Maid service, bell hop and valet are awesome professional people… Close to everything within walking distance.

The perfect place to stay after a long flight from New Zealand. The rooms were spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. It's ideally located to the downtown bars and restaurants. The complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. We stayed for 3 nights and can highly recommend.

This place is great for a family or group/clubs to stay, because there is free breakfast and it super close to the Gorge R Brown conversation. I also loved this place because it has parking and a pool on the roof. You have a great view. Also, depending what website you use or room you get you get a special or discount on your stay.

Awesome experience from beginning to end. Friendly and professional staff, clean rooms and comfortable bed/pillows, and unbelievably good breakfast of scrambled eggs, baccon, grits, waffles, fruits, cereals, and 4 different kinds of juice just for starters. Very close to Conventiom Center, Discovery Green, and Metrorail. Only minus is parking, be prepared for a whopping $30 per night for your vehicle.

Small but nice rooms. Location is close to metro line, which makes it convenient to most of downtown Houston.

I can't say enough good things about the Hampton Inn Downtown Houston. Fabulous service at the front desk-Jorge was so helpful with information about the downtown area. He never acted like I was interrupting-I was-with my questions and was always pleasant. Room was VERY clean and housekeeping made sure we were supplied with clean towels every day of our stay. Nice big bathroom and vanity, plenty of pillows and comfy beds. Breakfast buffet was pretty good with lots of choices. I will stay there every time I'm in Houston and won't hesitate to try out their other locations. Only negative is the $30 daily valet parking charge, but hey, downtown space is at a premium and you can get your car out at any time and not be recharged.

Would give it five stars if it were just for the breakfast buffet. Simply amazing. Pretty much every possible breakfast foods you can imagine. Stayed here 1 night after a flight from NZ. Big rooms, comfy bed. Close to sports. Would definitely stay here again!

It was very good, the room was clean, the breakfast was delicious and the location Is perfect for the sports events.

The rooms were well detailed and the fitness and pool areas were clean. The staff was friendly and very accommodating.

A little strange that they separate the Hampton Inn from the other hotel when it is the same building and elevator yet they have different breakfasts? Good rooms, good location.

Room was clean. No complains here, but some. Staff at morning breakfast wasn't friendly. Again not too bad, but a little friendlyer would be appreciated.

Close to the event I was attending. Prices very affordable, good complimentary breakfast. Room was very nice and clean.

Nice rooms and good service. Scrambled eggs were a bit runny for my tastes.

The room was fine. However, the breakfast area was very disappointing. It was messy, including spilled liquid on the floor. All four food trays were empty and no forks were available. This was during the middle of the breakfast time. An hour later when I went down for coffee, there were no cups and no sugar. The breakfast area was still a mess.

They have valet parking, very good service to the customer, all very clean and new, the pool is very nice, the rooms very comfortable and clean … The only downside is the water pressure in the shower and ay a lot of construction around ay a lot of noise in the mornings.
