My first time here attending a meeting. Everything is wonderful! Staff so professional and very accommodating. Enjoying my stay here even if it’s for work.

Great service, awesome views, and great bar service, the band was amazing also. No complaints here.

Worst Hotel stay ever staff did not know where the rooms even were on the property then on top of that fire alarm starts going off at 8 o’clock goes off seven times within 20 minutes even after calling the front desk manager was quite rude and so was the staff about this I’ve stayed here many times this will be my last.

I was a guest of a friend earlier last month and for such a beautiful place, we were SO disappointed in the service. There were a couple of people that were very accommodating and helpful and that’s sad to say when there were multiple encounters with several during our stay. The dismissiveness, and inattentiveness started from the gate, then valet, on to the bellman (one in particular, as his replacement, was very pleasant), then the restaurant server, (the manager was very pleasant and helpful) and then culminated with the front desk staff upon early checkout due to our dissatisfaction. For the sake of this review’s length, I spared detailed specifics, but will definitely share them in length on another platform. A resort and spa of this caliber with such underwhelming service and lack luster staff, (of which we encountered, for the most part) was a huge disappointment. We won’t visit again, as we were made to feel unwelcome. We took our business to another spa 30 minutes away, that was exceptional, so the trip wasn’t a total waste. Let me add that they weren’t surprised by our experience at La Cantera, which is also unfortunate, as it lends to a ‘pattern’.

Great place course not in good shape but usually is pools were to HOT.

We had Mother's Day Brunch and absolutely loved it because the variety of delicious food. The chef even specially made me poached eggs and gluten free toast. She even brought me hollandaise sauce on the side because it was gluten free and soy free. We will definitely eat at Sweetfire again and I'd like to make their Mother's Day Brunch an annual family event.

I had the best time! Loma Vida was by far my fave, then the awesome bartenders. Only thing that didn’t overly impress me was the food. Super friendly staff, very helpful & oh, oh, oh the amenities!

We loved our stay. The hotel rooms are nice, very clean. What sets them above the rest is the service. Everyone is very nice, and extremely helpful. Only bad service we had all weekend was at Primero was lacking. The beds and bedding could be a little more luxurious, but they’re comfortable. The spa services are amazing! We had such good service every where else from the pool, to the spa, to the valet and the other restaurants we loved it. Loved the adult pool area for sure. We will definitely be back!

Great upscale resort with many dining options, bars, and accommodations. The staff makes you feel like you are the only guest there as well as being quick to your needs!

Such a great place to visit on a staycation. Drinks were great and food was even better.

We had a good time this weekend even though the power was lost yesterday for awhile. We played golf & ate at Sweet Fire restaurant. The Palmer & Resort courses were both very nice! The pro shop had a nice variety of clothing & other accessories.
The wine tasting Friday night in the lobby was a great idea!

We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary at the resort. Everyone was so helpful and we felt pampered. Our dinner at Signature was excellent. Awesome service from all.

Amazing time. We stopped by on the way joke and enjoyed everything about the resort.

We had a horrible experience here. Sewage backed up into our room. The entire room smelled like sewage and there was literally sewage standing several inches deep in the bathtub. The manager’s solution was offering a $50 credit. Unbelievable, especially considering the level of service that should be offered here.

I would recommend this place 10x over! The atmosphere alone was amazing The staff, rooms, food, golf course, pools, adult area etc… was just what this momma needed! And it was the last place I visited before going on lockdown due to Covid 19. Our Spring break trip March 11, 2020 was awesome! And the kids have requested to make this a part of our family time! After all this is over we will be back to visit! Even if only for a brief moment! Thank you for delivering excellence.

This resort is peaceful, beautiful and clean. The staff is amazing, well chosen, well trained and always pleasant and helpful. The spa is like no other, so spacious and comfortable. My treatment was fabulous and relaxing. The poolside service is excellent, there are so many food options, we were very happy to relax and eat on property. One of my favorite parts is the adult pool, so lovely and quiet. The view looking out over the infinity edge to the hills and golf courses beyond was lovely.

The Cantera Resort is a first class resort with sll amenities for families and different ages. They hace everything, family pool, adult pool, casual food, gourmet food, the Spa is unbelievable super nice, the gym has everything and the new Villas are incredibly beautiful, perfect for relaxation. You get a golf cart if you
stay at the Villas which you can drive all around the Resort. Ah and the shuttle takes you to Six Flags and The Cantera Shops and a full variety of restaurantes, what else can you ask fir? Come and enjoy the luxury, beautiful and real Hill Country! We are in love with it!

Absolutely loved the hill country view so peaceful. Great friendly staff very polite and professional. Massages are the best totally recommend them. Pedicures are awesome as well the nail polish last for a very long time my tech was so sweet. The salon now has a new customer for life I loved the way my highlights came out, my hair dresser was very attentive. I can’t wait to go back with some of my girl friends. I couldn’t say anything bad about this place.

This is a beautiful hotel. However it really could use a bit of cleaning up around the pool areas and the chairs in the rooms. All are full of stains. It’s a shame because this really is a beautiful spot. But I have yet to find one pool chair that does not have a stain on it.

The staff is amazingly helpful, polite, and professional. Food, drinks, and others are very inexpensive. Several pools to choose from and even a 21 and older pool. Amazimg resort and I loved it.

I would like to give a special thanks to Rebecca Hernandez for giving me an amazing facial. Honestly it was the best spa experiences I’ve had. I had a 90 minute facial with Rebecca, who has to be one of the sweetest, kind, and gentle esthetician’s I’ve ever meet. She did a fantastic job on my skin, it really looked so radiant after the session. I really wasn’t interested in a massage until after I felt how strong and firm her hands were. I went straight up to the room to tell my husband how much I enjoyed it and that I wanted both of us to book a massage appointment with her for the next day. My husband called and left a message. After about an hour went by I told him call again. This time they answered, but she was booked. We are from out of town, but I will definitely be seeing her again. Thank you Rebecca.

Such an inspiring and soulful resort, 10 out of 10 experience, starting with the luxury lobby and the very attentive staff, to the infinity pool overlooking the beautiful country side. My room overlooked the court yard, and the view went on for miles! I recommend staying on the 7th floor, there’s a private lounge area! It’s truly perfect!

I attended a Wedding there this weekend and had a one night stay. I found all the staff I encountered to be very friendly and courteous. The rooms were very nice clean and the hill side views were breathtaking. The Wedding space was gorgeous and the bridal pictures was something this Bride and Groom will cherish forever. I did not tour a lot of the resort but in comparison to other resorts I’ve stayed at this one is worth coming back to for a weekend of relaxation. The grounds were clean and very professionally maintained. What I encountered would make come back for sure.

Spent my birthday weekend here and it was so fun! The pool is amazing and the food was good as well. I grew up around La Cantera and was excited to show my husband around SA. The location did not disappoint! We were so close to the hiking trails without being too far out in the boonies.

My family and I spent the day enjoying the pool and related amenities at La Cantera on Labor Day of 2018. We purchased passes to do so through a third party vendor, and with those were able to enjoy the pools, hot tubs, and water slides. My purchase included use a of a cabana, which was nicely appointed with comfortable furniture, safe storage for our things, and a stocked refrigerator. We also had service from an attendant while there. We left relaxed, and impressed with our treatment by the staff.

This place is amazing. Very kid friendly but also professional. Loved how the conferences I attended were formal and well cared for. Easy to navigate. The rooms and pools are beautiful. Would love to stay here again!

Today is TuesdayJuly 31, had I made a review at 5 o’clock when I got home to my room this evening I would’ve gave this a two star, my room was not clean yet and to me it look like they missed my room. Plane and smoke. I called and asked for a fresh towels and then for someone to come clean my room when I leave at 6:30 PM I talked to the front desk manager, and the lady in charge of cleaning the rooms. She apologized and made no excuses her name is Norma Corona. I went to the pool to cool myself off because I was hot and by the time I got back to my room it was spotless. Just now when I came back from dinner they cleaned my room again, and left me the following note and two bottles of wine. Thank you Mrs. Norma Corina for being a great manager and an ambassador to your resort & facilities. I hope this complement finds your superiors to let them know your value of what superior in charge for what you did for me personally, and again just me personally to make me feel that I can’t wait to come back here again. Thank you so much Sincerely Erich.

Went for a family vacation and had to check out a day early. A convention was going on during our stay and our kids could not use the family pools after the first day. The convention people were drunk and blocking everything off where we couldn’t access it. The staff did nothing because they were catering to the convention guests. Our children were denied snocones and face painting because they were not convention guests. No signage was up stating these were private events either. Two drunk men knocked my 6 year old in the pool dumping alcohol in the pool… the family pool mind you. Nothing was done by staff. We were refunded the $35 resort fee since we could not use the family pool. Really? I still have not received a call from upper management and it’s been two weeks. What a joke. Our room air conditioner didn’t excel either. We used two box fans to cool our room. For the price of their rooms, I expected way better service and a more enjoyable experience. Didn’t happen by a long shot. Do not recommend this place.

This is a beautiful property, with nice pools and hot tubs. Ordering breakfast from Room Service is cheaper than going down to the restaurant. It took multiple requests to get a menu at the breakfast restaurant because they wanted us to eat the $25 per person Buffet. There was a moldy spot right outside of the bathtub in our bathroom, but otherwise the room was nice, and the staff are friendly. The restaurant right next to the kids pool had great tacos and street corn. Overall, a great place for a couples getaway.

This resort is beautiful. The staff is very attentive from the time you arrive until you depart. The Spa is absolutely state of the art. It is one of the nicest spas I have been in. I’m comparing it to resorts like the Broadmoor and the Biltmore. Plan to spend several hours when you go. You can enjoy the sauna before your treatment and then enjoy a fresh smoothly while eating lunch by the infinity pool overlooking the hillside. The atmosphere is relaxed and upscale. The 7th floor is a nice touch for those wanting a “kid free” stay.

Very nice! Enjoyed our visit immensely. Staff was professional and friendly. The resort itself was nearly perfect. The pools were wonderful but they could have used some more attention for cleanliness.

Stayed here on Seven to celebrate our anniversary. I'm not being hyperbolic when I say everything here exceeded my expectations. My only complaint is the adult pool is blasting loud pop music the whole time. It's a beautiful pool overlooking a beautiful view, and no one wants this music on, turn it off for Pete's sake. But besides that minor gripe, everything here, from food to attentiveness of staff to rooms to the spa — — everything was 5-star. I'm very impressed and my wife and I will be back.

Beautiful and stunning views. Went for a conference and the food was fantastic! Stayed over Memorial Day and very thoughtful family friendly activities (smores, magic show, animal zoo). Restaurant Signature was top five of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Amazing food and service superb! Pool staff was spotty. Breakfast staff was subpar. Still a beautiful week. I would come back!

My sister-in-law and I booked a private cabana in the 21 over pool area for a bachelorette party. We got there to set up around 10am and immediately Zach (our server) was there to greet us with a smile, followed by the manager Martin to make sure everything was in place and as requested. Both were happy to help with anything we needed. Our service could not have been better. And even though we got some lightening, thunder and rain (around 4pm) and they had to close the pool I could not have had a better day or experience over all to go with that service. Martin and his team are EXCEPTIONAL! Everyone was very friendly and Zach was on point! I would definitely book again and again! Thank you so much for the wonderful day we had!

Enjoy a nice dinner with a stellar view, yes please. We love to come here and enjoy drinks and cocktails all year around. La Cantera never disappoints. Enjoy fun seasonal cocktails and munchies poolside or a fine dining experience at the restaurant either way you will be pleased.

I was lucky enough to stay in the Villas. I loved the layout. Employees were very accommodating. We ate at several of the on-site restaurants and they were all great! The shops at LaCantera was outstanding! I can’t think of much they didn’t have. Overall stay was great!

Perfect for get away! Pools are amazing. Spa is on the best. Room and room service is great. Very nice place for relaxation and couples get away. People and employees are very nice. Expensive but definitely worth the money and experience.

Absolutely magical stay. By far the best resort in Texas and I've stayed at nearly all of them. Robert Lothian and his team put together a wonderful event without missing a detail. I highly recommend calling them for corporate or wedding events — (I'm pushing Nissan North America to put their next conference here) Impressive!

Flawless customer service. Breathtaking views. Multiple heated pools. Kids club. Free s'mores pack available daily. The average room has a separate potty room, tub, shower, flat screen TV, small table with 2 chairs, 1 comfy chair with ottoman, closet, cool box, vanity table and seat, and coffee maker.

Great service and amenities. Helpful and kind staff were always attentive. Very clean and they have a variety of things to do. Room was comfortable, and I can't wait to come back.

Great hotel nestled in the Texas Hill Country! We spent 4 nights here during spring break and really had a great time. The wife loved the spa here, the kids thoroughly enjoyed the swimming pools and game area. We had a Jr. Suite which was really nice as it gave some privacy to the master bedroom but still had a nice sofa bed for the kids. Great spring break spot and a place we will definitely return to in the future!

It is a hotel situated on top of San Antonio and spacious facilities to enjoy this beautiful place I recommend it.

The Hotel is gorgeous. The service is good. Their suits for 6 people it was like the reserve feature only with a cma king and the room is a bedroom but it is not comfortable. The kids club is not available when you are not on vacation. The valet parrking and has an extra cost.

Hotel well located. Near the shopping centre. Golf course excellent. The food is very expensive for the quality.

Gorgeous resort… We're having our wedding here! Can't say enough great things about this place. If you're looking for a spot to host a wedding or function, la cantera is amazing. They don't surcharge for day of week or month of year. And the event coordinators there are super competent and helpful!

The staff at the resort was extremely attentive, kind and helpful. We started in a private villa that had a family next door with teenagers that were loud. The staff new we were on a romantic getaway and helped us find a beautiful new room at no extra charge. The villas are stunning, the decor is beautiful and there is no detail that goes overlooked. The grounds are extremely well kept and the pools with the views are amazing. Lastly, the food was incredible we have a ton of dietary restrictions between my wife and I and Chef Charlie and his team (including Augustin) went out of their way to prepare custom meals for us and they were all amazing!

I stayed for only one night but was very impressed with the quality of the resort itself. No facade here! Everything looked and worked perfectly in our room. Double sinks and spacious bath. Good water pressure in shower. Nothing peeling or cracking like you see most everywhere these days. The bed is very comfortable and firm. Over all this place is the real deal. You get what you pay for and can’t go wrong here. Looking forward to returning for a longer stay and some pool/ spa time soon.

Great location to get away or have an event. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful location in the hills. We enjoyed the variety of activities available, especially the different pools. The breakfasts were very tasty with a large buffet.

Awesome resort for a get away weekend in San Antonio. If you have a decent budget, it's a must have place to stay in. They have beautiful pools, separate adult and children's pool. Even the hot tubs are separate. The best thing is they have 4 heated pool. They provide really nice bath robe that can be used by the pool. They have 9 restaurants on the property. Really nice spa place. Make sure you book the spa one week before as it is really busy. Overall it's a nice get away weekend for couple. They have an adult floor too.

The resort is beautiful the scenery from the hotel is Grand. It has a beautiful golf course spa and the restaurants are awesome. The hotel has a shuttle bus that will take you to the shops at La Cantera So you can shop walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery at this Location. You also have a selection of great restaurants to enjoy good breakfast lunch or dinner. For the kid's you also have the benefit of 6 flags so they too can enjoy this great outing.

La Cantera Resort is one of the most enjoyable places you will ever visit. The staff went out of their way to take care of us, and there are so many fun things to do there! We stayed in the Villas, which is a more secluded area of the resort and took advantage of heated pools, the n. Gas fire pit, and hot tubs! The only issue we had was that we seemed to be the only people who knew what package we booked and it took awhile to resolve this, however the staff was helpful with this as well.

Outstanding service… I have traveled extensively throughout the US and Europe/Asia. The service, grounds, and amenities are among the best I have ever experienced. Room rates are very reasonable, particularly given the level of service. I highly recommend this property for anyone staying in this part of San Antonio, particularly if you are accustomed to great service.

Rooms here are $$$ and you could probably get a couple of rooms at a Fairfield or Hilton for what one room costs here a night. I guess if you're coming for the spa and golf, sure, it's convenient. But these are standard rooms like you would find at any other chain hotel. Staff was very accommodating and helpful. Nice views of the Texas hill country from the balconies in the rooms.

Mixed feelings on the customer service here. There was almost no parking because the golf carts all park in regular spots. Then the front desk staff didn't tell me that they were pretty of wrist bands which you need to use a locker. They told me to sit and wait and someone would show me around. I waited fifteen minutes, saw several staff walk in and out and finally a friend who was already inside came out and showed me around herself. Once inside however, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the facilities are beautiful, if on the small side. The pool is shared with the rest of the resort, but does have an amazing view. Overall, I'll go back, but probably on a weekday.

My wife and I are on our honeymoon here. The grounds are breathtaking. Our room is well kept, up to date and quite amazing. The staff put a great deal of effort into making sure you are 100% taken care of. On check in I had 5 different staff members greet me with my last name before I introduced myself because the gate attendant had radioed ahead. It is extremely peaceful and serene here. We will most definitely be coming back.

I came here for a business event in the ballroom. The facilities were very nice, clean and well maintained. My only complaint was that this was my first day here. The weather was rainy and rather unfavorable for walking around. However there wasn't a hint of signage to direct you nor anyone maning the area. So I wondered for a few minutes outside till I finally figured out the right way to enter. It would have been nice to be given some type of direction once on site.

Everything about this resort is awesome. I love that it's closed off from traffic once you enter the property. The staff made sure to accommodate me and my family. I loved the welcome cookies they put in our room the day we arrived. There's many restaurants on site and they give you different cuisines. They even have a small market store you can order a quick breakfast or get other snacks. The pool are overlooks the Texas Hill Country. There's a cute kids pool with two slides, a family pool and an adult area with its own jacuzzi. The resort has a gym, arcade, spa, events facility and golf course. The resort has a full list of events from happy hour to a magic show, movies on the lawn and more. If you want to get away and just unwind from the every day busy schedule, this is the place to do it. Oh, and the sunset and sunrise are spectacular.

The resort is quiet and nice. It's up on a hill so you can see the terrain miles away. The facilities are very nicely decorated and rooms were spacious. Outdoor games and golf carts available. Right next to six flags Fiesta so we got to see fireworks each night around 10pm. Relaxing…

Have only visited once but our experience was great. Hotel is very nice and close to where we needed to go. Staff is great and very helpful. Would definitely recommend and visit again. The LA Cantera shops are an excellent way to spend the day and there's plenty of dining options at the hotel as well. Nice place to stay while visiting San Antonio although if you are saying here you may not want to go anywhere else.

“Beautiful Hotel” This hotel is beautiful. We had top notch service the entire conference. There are very nice pools and the water falls. The fire pits are very nice on a cool evening. I would definitely come to visit again.

The hotel ground were beautiful, the staff was friendly and helpful and our room was large and clean! Every meal we had was AMAZING! We will definitely come back.

“Got Married & Enjoyed our Stay” The landscape and views are wonderful. For the ladies the lighting for makeup application especially, if you are getting married was not great, but the magnication mirror was very good. The rooms are nice and the staff was very helpful. We had stayed here last year so understood what the hotel had to offer.

Ate brunch at the christmas buffet, good food though of very varying quality. Some was fantastic, like the lamb risotto, some was worse than even what I could make myself, such as the sushi. The desserts were all sublime, and the service was absolutely wonderful.

Had a great night recently here. The hotel was easy to get to. Parking was close and had a great view leading up to the reception area. Hotel room and bathroom was clean. The beds were comfortable and I appreciated the outlets with USB ports built in. The bartender was good and suggested goreat drinks. I look forward to spending another night here.

This place is super rich.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of staying at one of the finest, friendliest resorts in the U. S. A. La Cantera exudes charm and class with their beautiful facilities as well as their professional staff. I have travelled to places of great promise before only to be let down. At La Cantera, I was overwhelmed at all of my lofty expectations. First class and five stars met me from the room I stayed in to the all new Spa which is second to no other and the pristine resort golf courses. Beautiful vistas to be found everywhere in this lush hill country. And amazing food complimented by the people serving us. You know you are in a special place when the fellow guests you meet have smiles as big as those who work to make this one of the finest. I look forward to many return visits and know to expect nothing less than the unimaginable.

My fiancé and I scheduled a tour to see their property as an option for our wedding venue. Amanda Pacheco, their event sales manager, was absolutely wonderful! As soon as I got in touch with her, she was on top of scheduling our visit and making sure I had all the information I was interested in beforehand so we could discuss it during our time there. The property is gorgeous! Beautiful views into the hill country, renovated spaces, new business, event and SPA spaces and amazing interior design throughout it. We got offered golf cart rides from and to our car as we arrived and left the property. Guest service is flawless. I would recommend the hotel not only for a weekend getaway but to take into consideration for your next event! They are great!

This place is fantastic! Very private. Upon arrival you'll be greeted at the gate and given some information about vole parking or park yourself. When leaving the hotel for any reason, a golf cart will take you to your car and come get you. A shuttle will take you to and from six Flags. If there is an issue with the in room movie experience the hotel will shuttle you to a theatre and pick you up as well. They are prompt and will take care of their guests. The resort looks amazing. Rustic feel to all of it. If you reserve through a third party expect a $40 fee upon checkout for shuttle services. Still in theatres movies are available in room for $20. Room service tastes great. GO!

Rm 3116 has a nice view of the Six Flags 9pm fireworks. Hotel is finishing a $130, 000 renovation. Still a little old in spots but looking great in others. Staff very nice.

Beautiful hotel and really helpful/ friendly staff. My room was immaculate each day, the shuttle drivers were super friendly and accommodating. The grounds and lobby had a lot of seating and it was nice to relax and enjoy the view. The sweet fire restaurant was really good, a little pricey but delicious food and great wait staff.

Very nice hotel nice view. You need to check your receipt they over charge charge you on some stuff at the bar and add extra tip.

Facilities were beautiful and well maintained. My room was nice internally, but it didn't have a great view and music from the lobby could be heard. Food options are delicious but pricey. Cheerful and helpful staff.

The location of the resort was great as it overlooked a beautiful golf course. The ballrooms very extravagant and luxurious and the service was great. Definitely looking forward for this to be a venue again next year!

I was really expecting a lot. I have been to the Barton Creek and the JW Marriott Resorts. Upscale common areas. Beautiful pool … nice Adult pool. Amazing views, good service, polite staff, BUT Matress is hard (pillow top is useles). Matress is covered by a plastic liner which causes the matress to not breathe … and hence if you sweat; you lay in a puddle of sweat. This place is obviously catering to families with kids who piss their pants. Poor air ciculation in room; set the A/C to 65 and the hallway is colder than the room. The A/C at the Fairfield Inn in San Marcos was better. Alarm clock is glowing at night (had to put a towel over it). Pillows are puffy. The towels are thin and cheap (not plush) feeling. One bathrobe in the room (not two as one might expect when a couple checks in) which is described as plush terry cloth but is actually a thin poly-cotton. No house slippers (as one would expect in a comprable Marriott). Amazing black-out curtains, which end 2 inches above the floor so the light still comes in. Only one type of curtain (only black-out) ; no sheer curtain to let in partial light. Quality of the room is about a Holiday Inn with the price of a JW Marriott. Price of the food at the sweetfire restautrant … value for money a 3. Price of Beer at the pool … reasonable for a SPA at $7 /pint. Price of an Absolut straight up or a Gentelman Jack … way over-priced.

Was really good but not a five star for the parking. If you don't pay for the valet be prepared to have an up hill walk (mini workout). Excellent service.

Go stay at the jw marriot — its a real resort property. La Cantera is a nice property until you walk in your room. We booked a JR suite for the weekend, total cost for the stay with dining over $1300. One would expect the room to be ready by 5pm, which ours was NOT. Mini fridge missing & replaced twice with a very small unit placed on the carpet in middle of living area. Door falling off of mini bar, screws found on floor by my 2 year old… The phone was inoperable every day, making room service calls a lengthy process. And the best part — DOORS MISSING between bedroom and living area. Excuses offered for all of the above. Poor excuses. Phoned today to let them know about poor experience and was offered a friends and family discount, NO THANK YOU.

Great resort. Nice staff with many activities for the family to enjoy. Didn't really like the resort fee surprise, but the facility is beautiful and well worth it. Prices for food and drinks are on the high side.

We had another outstanding stay at the resort. All staff was attentive and helpful, the view from the club level room was outstanding, and the renovated room was very nice. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Everything was comfy. The pool was heated up to 98 degrees. Perfect morning swim.

Don't stay here. Waste of money. Poor customer service at valet. Room service food was a joke — — I received a microwaved breakfast sandwich in foil & was charged $23 for it. The front desk took 1hr to decide they couldn't give me AA batteries for a medical device I needed to use. I was 13min late for waxing services in the spa. And the lady doing my wax was extremely rude, telling me I was talking too loudly for the spa & that she couldn't do both my bikini and lip wax because we only had 45min & not a full hour. What?!

The service was great from the time we pulled up to the time we left. The front desk was helpful and very attentive to our needs. The infinity pool and Topaz Bar staff were great. Our waitress recommended the appetizer house made goat cheese boursin with pita bread and a Vote for Pedro drink and to my surprise was a really well thought out mixed drink. We tried the Primero Cantina and the food was excellent. I would recommend trying the Beer Can-Fried Chicken Wings and Tacos Al Pastor.

Not a couple's retreat. We wanted a nice, quiet place to rejuvenate. The remodel was beautiful. Still under construction. This resort caters more to families. There is a big family pool, a small kid's pool and an adult pool. Fortunately the adult pool is a little isolated. But if you need to use the restroom, you have to walk through the family pool to get to the nearest facility. Forget about having a nice quiet dinner or breakfast. Each time we were seated we asked not to be seated near children. However, they couldn't place us anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love my children and grandchildren, I just don't want the noise level with me when I'm at a resort spa. We signed up for Spa services and the Tranquility room wasn't tranquil at all. Employees kept walking people in and out discussing their forms and then outside is the kiddie pool so you could hear parents yelling at their kids. However, if you are parents and want to take your kids to a nice weekend — this would be a great place. Right next to Fiesta Texas and near Sea World. Won't return unless I'm bringing family members. One more thing… don't waste your time renting the Cabana for $450 — it's just a covered room with TV… no special treatment like other hotels with treats/drinks throughout the day. Just find a palm tree (unless you want to watch TV)

Our experience started with the Valet service. When we arrived, there were at least 5 workers standing around and not one of them came over to open my door. Any other valet we've experienced is completely different. The workers hustle to get to the car and assist the patrons in any way. It was the same when we were ready to leave. They told us on arrival the cost of valet was "$6.00 plus tip". When we were ready to leave, my husband gave them a total of $10. You would think they'd be grateful to get a 65% tip. Not the case at all. The lead person (wearing a different color shirt) was busy driving around on someone's motorcycle. The young kid who got our car pulled it up behind a line of parked cars instead of driving our car up the middle to where we were standing. This young kid then waited at the driver's door instead of coming to the other side of the car to open the ladies door. We went to the restaurant for dinner. They had a barbecue buffet. That was exceptional. We sat at the bar for dinner (something we love to do) and the two bartenders taking care of us were outstanding. They really gave us the resort service we expected and the food was amazing. Then we decided to go down by the pool bar for a final cocktail before leaving. We sat next to a couple who were finishing wings. The bartender Justin never acknowledged us. The bar stool I was sitting on was broken.

My family and I stayed at the La Cantera resort a few weekends ago. All the renovations were mostly completed and looked great. The pools were nicely done and the ambiance was fantastic. However, for the price per night of stay, my expectations go up when you call this place a RESORT destination. This place caters to kids not real well. What I mean by this, is the creativity or lack there of from the Resort. Please offer kids drinks out by the pool and please… come up with some better food offerings for the kids! And, if you read some of the other reports, yesssssss the "Queen" beds are smaller than double size beds. Not real comfortable at all. They did reach out to me via e-mail and asked to speak with me and I simply replied with a very similar e-mail. And, I also stated I was coming back through in the next few days and was still up in the air about where I should stay for a night or two. You would have thought someone would have picked up a phone or e-mailed back stating "Sure we would love to have you! "… Nope Hyatt Hillcountry is booked I noticed, but not you guys. All in all very well done on the renovations and the staff was very friendly, but when I invest this much in a resort I expect more… not the moon, just more. By the way, everything I just mentioned takes nothing more than a few alterations to adjust and not any money. Enjoy…

Not even close to what the Westin used to be. They changed the design and is not elegant, stately and cozy as it used to be; bad food, bad service, way to many mistakes when ordering room service, and this morning last detail, false fire alarm before 6am. The whole hotel was pissed off. I'm not coming back ever again!

I hated that that clothing shop is not there anymore. I few years ago I went and they had the best clothes I ever saw and now that store padres doesn't even exsist anymore. Very sad! that is the only reason I had my husband take me there again.

A friend and I played eighteen today and being first timers we were very impressed. Everyone is very friendly and courteous and knowledgeable Will come back again and again.

Ritz Service, I had stayed here before when it was Westin, It was good then and only better now. Service was great, Food at the cafe was great, gym was, running at their track was great. Staff were well trained from Valet to bellman to front desk and wait staff. Its very close to Six flags with Free shuttle.

This place is a nightmare. Our room smelled like mildew. There were bugs all over the room. The restaurants food was terrible and unbelievably expensive. (Breakfast buffet was $21 for cold eggs and gravy that was horrible. The pool was good but the service was terrible. 4 months after our stay. They hit my credit card for an additional $124 because they are in a dispute with Living Social and decided to just steal the money directly from everyone who used a coupon. When I called to ask about this the lady was very rude and said "Well. That's just how it's going to be. " Overpriced dump.

La Cantera is very beautiful resort. Everything is a little pricey, but overall staff was great. We had a little mix up during check in, but front desk did a great job explaining the misunderstanding, and made sure that everything was taken care of. I never walked by an employee without being greeted. Valet service was first class. Will definitely return for next vacation.

My survey expired before I could take it. As for my experience, my arrival was greeted friendly. My room smelled like mold and dirty. The pool area and ground need upkeep before guest start touring the grounds from the night before. Dinner in Brannon’s Restaurant, I do not recommend eating here. For a 4star resort I expected quality of food my salad was old and wilted. Our meal was $100.00 and not worth it here. The young lady that served us we may have seen her 4 times. She looked over worked running in and out to the pool area my guess taking orders outside as well. As for the restaurant, this company should have used some of the renovation money to renovate this area. One evening we went down to get ice cream, same here the young lady looked over worked and it showed she did not want to be here. No greeting, thank you good bye, how is your stay nothing. It’s like we are wasting here time for stopping by. Starbucks area, the salad was the best this Resort could sale in the restaurant area. The workers in this area Very friendly, smiled with a greeting and thank you! I highly recommend that you send your staff to a Hospitality course. Rudy.

Great resort. Something for everybody! We did not play golf, but the course seems unbelievable (did some hiking around the trails). Lots of kids, too few chairs to lay out, but the pools are really clean and kid friendly for all ages. Close by to all the city attractions, but not in town. Super nice staff and very accommodating. Very clean and well maintained rooms.
