The hotel was very disgusting and smelled like drugs on the outside. Dog hair and dirt was all over the floor and bed. Several people were complaining that night. One room the beds weren’t made, one had food on the table and another had TV on and beds unmade like someone else was staying there. We checked in and checked out after seeing our room. The manager refuses to authorize for me to get my money back even after telling me he would. Please look very good at reviews before booking!

I honestly thought from the website that we were booking a hotel room that was indoors and not a motel. Room looked horrible. Reminded me of Bates Motel… very outdated. No hot water to take a shower. It was barely lukewarm.

Pictures speak volume… would never book another room with La Quinta Inn at 3501 West Lake Abilene, Tx. Just look at the room I was charged $88 before complaining… cancelled and stayed elsewhere. Contacted Corporate as well! Pure Nasty! Reserved for 5/22/2020 and checked out 5/22/2020

Made our reservations week ahead of time, arrived and didn’t have what we were told was supposed to have, the front desk clerk without even trying to look first had told us no rollaway beds available, reservations told me they Would have it reserved for us. So guessing district manager and manager was in room behind the front desk came to front desk after I had asked to speak to them, went and found one, as I was entering our room he leaves spraying the room, I asked what did spray in the room as I have small children, he said oh just an deodorizer spray it should go away soon, I set up the roll away bed and found a mint from a eating place not from here that had fallen out. Front desk clerk was new didn’t have much knowledge, went to the pool with our small grandchildren, couldn’t enjoy the pool with all the rowdy kids in the pool while their parents drinking alcohol, asked several times if they could play away from the small babies, that didn’t happen their parents gave me a glare as if I shouldn’t have said anything. Got our stuff together went back to the room to allow them to take a warm bath, the water was brown and no hot water, we called the office was told, oh it’s the city water had something go wrong but it should’ve been fixed by now, this was unexceptable, we asked for a meaner was told he was already gone, so what do we do she says not sure. Call the reservation line to ask who do complain to, was told we are only the reservations can’t help you.

Room was not clean, it was very dirty. There was animal hair in the beds, the furniture was disgusting with food stains and only God knows what. The tables had some sticky stuff, the cups had dirt all over the plastic. The worst was the toilet had urine all over it and my 2 year old sat in it! If all the other motels wasn’t booked we would have definitely left. Breakfast was such a disappointment! Definitely won’t be staying here again! The room looked nothing like the pictures.

The best in Abilene. Maid service was excellent and the food was great!

Clean, comfortable rooms. A little dates, but good for the budget. Really friendly staff and ample parking for large vehicles. Will be back to Abiline and will stay here.

This is the older La Quinta property in Abilene, but no problem with that! Our room was nice, and in a quiet nook even though the hotel is close to the highway. We were very satisfied with every aspect of the stay, and will return.

We asked for a quiet room and we got one by the pool. It was the noisiest place until 11pm or so. Dogs barking, kids screaming and someone had their boom box on way too loud. Coffeepot spewed steam and almost scalded me. The front desk person exchanged it with another one from a different room and left the defected one in there. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was fake it didn't take care of the steam. The room was okay, there is a Denny's acrossed the parking lot, which was nice.

I give this five stars for customer service. The hotel is not a five star resort so don’t book expecting that. This hotel is far more than enough for a family or individuals on a budget. The pool is in immaculate condition. The property as a whole is kept up and taken great care of. The rooms are a bit dated but not falling apart. Pet friendly is always a bonus for traveling with fur babies.

Quiet, clean, professional staff. There were not enough plugs in the room and the included breakfast left something to be desired compared to other 3-star hotels. Overall a very nice place to stay in Abilene.

Dirty rooms, shady looking guests rolling around in and out of rooms at all hours, and a dog that barked all night in the room next door made for a very unique stay. I felt like I was a Cohen brothers movie for a while, including the large unknown wet area of carpet and dead bolt that did not engage. I slept with my. 40 baretta gripped lightly under my pillow. Deffinitely a great place to stay if you love an adventure and or are on the run and want to go somewhere you can fit in… I would have given it 1 star, but then I remembered that it did pass the no bed bug test.

Staff are friendly helpful and rooms clean bed was extremely comfortable quiet pet friendly and pool is clean and nice good family enviroment. Only thing you need to ask for refrigerator and microwave rooms if u think u need thrm if its quick overnight stay then no need.

My wife, two kids and I spent 4 nights at this hotel. Stay was pleasant. The motel building is older, but during our stay there were several workers painting, and repairing some areas of the motel. Our room was comfortable and clean. The mattresses were comfortable. Room was cool when we arrived, very nice as it was into the 90s in the middle of the day. Pool was clean and the kids enjoyed playing and cooling off. During checkout Sherry helped me with a billing discrepancy and was very polite and helpful. Would stay here again.

They charged my card for incidentals and didn't even tell me but then told me that it was going to go back on my card when I checked out so that was the only the bad thing other than that it was quiet.

Very good location, customer service is very good and rooms are super clean/comfortable.

The room we had was very clean, staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Loved the Texas shaped waffle. Only drawback was no sausage and scrambled eggs.

Before you knock the high weekend prices, please keep in mind your not in the USA. This is the United Conglomerate of the GOP (Gas and Oil People). Demand for a room Sat. And Sun. Is outragious. Haveing said that, this is a lower priced La Quinta. My husband and I were exhausted after a hell day, we were met with a young lady that went above and beyond to get us settled. Our room was clean, but had a smoke smell. I wasn't surprised, it's a working man's motel. Breakfast was fine in the morning, we left in much better shape then we turned up in.

I had paid for a first floor double bed room. I recently had surgery. I got there in the evening after driving 12 hours exhausted, and was told they canceled my room because they thought I wasn’t coming. This was around 11pm, and every la Quinta I’ve done this with has given me no problems. Then, I ended up on the second floor in a king bed room that looked like it hadn’t been updated since the 90s at best. I thought it was a smoking room because of how bad it smelt, but there was a no smoking sign. Then, the sink smelt like stale beer. My girl and I stepped on exposed carpet staples (great way to get a disease). There was dirt everywhere. The chair had a knarly layer of dirt on it and must have been 20 years old. I used to love la Quinta, but I’m not planning on ever going back to one after this experience. If I hadn’t already pre paid I would have just left. The pictures I posted don’t capture the pure nastiness of this room.

Baffled by some of these reviews! This place is DISGUSTING. So out dated it seriously is not funny. It is priced like a quality hotel… but don't be fooled. The beds were very very small. Noisy late into the night. To top it off the contenital breakfast didn't start until 7am, we had to get on the road before that. Staff recommended going to Dennys?

Staff is very friendly but that's the only thing nice about this place. They don't have an office to use a printer or computer. Rooms aren't the cleanest. Can hear cars and people through the walls.

Nice place. Easy access. Rooms were clean and my little dog was welcome with a paid fee.

Everything was fine! The room was clean and the staff was friendly both when I checked in and checked out. Also I received 10% off our Denny's order right next to the hotel.

Breakfast is just waffles, hard boiled eggs and cereal. The room was falling apart, sink was pulling off the wall and there were holes in the floor/ wall. Good room in a pinch, would recommend something else in the area.

Very happy with the room, it was clean and let me tell you, the water pressure is awesome. Staff is wonderful! Breakfast room was clean and plenty of food. Free Wi-Fi is a major plus. Definitely would stay again.

Comfortable, clean room. Desk clerk was very friendly, even called our room to see if we needed anything! Good selection of breakfast choices. We also got a good rate. We have stayed here several times and we'll be back.

Diana, I also contacted Laquinta and they refused to refund me my rewards points that I used for the room that night. I would like to see how to go about receiving those points back. Is there anything you can do to help me with that?

Checked into the la Quinta in Abilene and sat down on the bed and a bed bug crawled out to say hello. I killed the bed bug and took it to the front desk and it didn't seem to bother them one bit. We did not receive an apology and they didn't seem worried about it at all. Checked out and left.

The rates are reasonable and the people are nice, but the rooms are only alright, clean but that's about it. They do offer breakfast, but there isn't much to it.

We were staying at La Quinta for a family wedding. Check in was quick but parking was pretty far from our room. Room was 2 full beds. A/C was a little underwhelming but finally cooled the room by midway thru the night. Our room keys stopped working midway thru our stay and they quickly replaced them. Our sink was slow-draining and then stopped completely; they sent someone quickly to try to fix it but the young man had to call a plumber. They let us know we would be switched to the room next door while we were out at the wedding. Very friendly and helpful staff!

The room was clean and very spacious. The beds were super comfortable and definitely made it hard for us to get up in he mornings. Definitely wish we could have stayed here longer but sadly we had to leave. The staff was very nice as well. Only con is the other guests leaving their cigarette butts and other trash around on the floors of the hallways instead of disposing of them correctly. Nasty people the other guests were!
But this place is definitely worth staying at if you're in the neighborhood.

The staff was friendly and the check in was quick and simple. The room was fairly clean however there were a couple of crickets in there. The toilet rim was a small for someone 6 feet tall, as was the height of the shower head. Otherwise no complaints.

The hotel was in poor repair. The a. C. Would shut off every so often, making the room warm. The fridge iced over. The water was not a constant temperature, making the shower a exciting experience. Room smelled of smoke. The pool was closed off, again. Couldn't wait to leave to get back home.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone that stays in Abilene. Not only was the front desk accommodating but you get an all around amazing stay with the nicest house keepers. We've been staying here for over 2 weeks due to a house fire and everyone is just so friendly. You have great rooms at a great price, staff that has gone over and beyond and the cleaning staff I just can't even explain. They're always available, extremely happy, provides/asks for anything that we need and to top it off I haven't met not even one housekeeper to date, that hasnt been super friendly. In such a time of crisis for our family we are extremely grateful for our stay being so pleasant. If your coming to Abilene, this is the place to stay!

The room was dirty… there was an empty liqueur bottle in the floor. And the air conditioning was fixed so you cant set it as cold as you need it, the high fan was disabled. … all in all a pretty bad visit… I will not be staying there again.

After checking in we inspected the room, opened the closet and saw a clothing that looked like an underwear, checked the bathroom and the toilet was filthy. I took a picture and showed it to Sherry at the front desk she was very apologetic gave us another room we inspected it together but after she left and we closed the room door we didn't like the odor the room smelled musty. We then checked out!

The hotel is alright if you've got a small family and are not staying for long. But my large family barely fit in the room, on our week long trip, with myself having to sleep on the floor due to the small beds. There were also no microwaves or fridges so plan to eat out a lot if you stay here.

The room was dirty with dead flies. We weren't offered a handicap room or at least next to the handicap ramp. Because my dad had his electric scooter with him and to get to the room he had to get to get in thru the entrance of the hotel! So it wasn't the best hotel!

We checked in late at 10. Cathy was super nice and personable and very funny. Great customer service! The beds were comfortable and there was a great breakfast. It's an older hotel but it's worth staying at.

We stayed 4/4/16. Irma at the front desk was very helpful and allowed us to check in early. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. Unfortunately, the outdoor pool was not yet open for the season (I believe they said memorial day weekend). This is an older style hotel in which the doors the rooms are outdoors.

At check. In I was. Informed that the rate was based on occupancy, I paid 9 dollars more because I happened supposedly get the last king room, and the last smoking room. However when I called down to the desk to have some ashtrays brought up, I was told they were completely out, yet they insisted that. I pay the full rack rate instead of the advertised web rate. The front desk clerk was unresponsive when I insisted that I should get the currently advertised rate. Her tesponse was" it takes them 3 hours to update our status which is untrue, I have worked at hotels for years, and A) most hotels give the advertised rate. B) it does not take 3 hours for a system updste. I feel like she was untruthful with her response, and that she lacks genuine customer service skills. There is months worth of dust on the exhaust fan in the bathroom, there are food particles and dust on the lampshades, when I turned on the airconditioner it blew out chunks of nasty black dust that went all the way to the bed. It appears that the rooms arent being inspected properly. What a drastic difference from our stay in another La Quinta I will never use this hotel again. The only reason I didn't ask for a refund and leave is because of the late hour of our check in. Very unhappy guest.

Thanks La Quinta for another fantastic stay. We have stayed in La Quinta hotels all around USA every time we visit from Australia and know we can count on this chain for consistent good lodgings. Room 416 was very clean and spacious. The dedicated friendly staff were very welcoming and made our Two night stay very pleasant. Breakfast (included) was plentiful and up to usual good standard. Thank you La Quinta we will see you again next time…

I found dog poop in my first room and changed to another to find hair all over the tub of the next. Go to the hampton inn across the street. 20 bucks extra n you're sleeping like a pimp.

I was impressed as soon as I was greeted so welcoming into the hotel by the front desk and then by the size of the room especially for what I payed for. It was a fantastic hotel, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. It's also typically affordable which is a huge plus.

The employees are absolutely wonderful. From the ladies at front desk, to the ladies who clean the rooms. They were all extremely friendly, and accommodating to our needs. There was even an unfortunate incident that arose with another guest while we were here, and it was handled very professional ly, and with great compassion and concern. So I can't imagine how anyone could say the staff was unfriendly… The rooms were nice enough for an older motel, no bugs of any kind, and the pillow top beds were very comfortable. Overall we have been most impressed with our stay.

This was the most horrible experience. We woke up to bed bugs crawling on us. My room was never cleaned with crumbs on my bed, de sk and floor. Also, if you do not want to sleep the door and window literally has open cracks to let noise in from the road. Lastly, the shower water would go in and out of extreme hot and cold. Do not stay here.

I was advised that their rates fluctuate depending on the season and events in town. So in other words they gouge you whenever possible.

For an older L Q Inn this place seems real clean-Very Happy.

This La Quinta has a fairly high rate compared to other La Quintas this age — that seems to be characteristic to this part of Texas. Comfortable bed, everything worked, and love the extra permanent electrical outlets that they have added.
