Love the quietness in the rooms, have been to two large events & food & service were great!

The beds are to die for!
The suites are a generous size and nice and clean. I've stayed at more expensive places and they can't compare. The restaurant is very nice and hats off to Nicole, who bartends on the weekends!

Great place to getaway!

Staff was extremely friendly and room was clean and inviting. The two things I wasn't a fan of was the broke down, ugly motel next door to the hotel which happened to be my view outside of my room and the very pricey restaurant located inside the hotel. The food was good but for what we paid it could have been much better. I'd rather have the complimentary breakfast vs a restaurant in the hotel.

We have stayed here a lot when doing business in Columbia. Clean and safe hotel. Very nice big rooms and always clean. Breakfast is good and fresh.

The breakfast was horrible. I ordered breakfast sliders that were described with fluffy eggs and received a thin layer of egg, dried out, day old sausage on a dry dinner roll. My children ordered milk that was on the end of it's 3 month life span and smelled like it was going bad. The pancakes were dry and the kids, who are never picky when it comes to pancakes, couldn't eat them, even when doused in syrup. I would recommend McDonald's over this awful excuse for breakfast.

This honestly would have been a 5 star review but we found empty beer cans under the chair in our room. With their prices near Hilton and Marriot level, I expect a little more attention to detail when cleaning. Overall, the size of the double queen room was nice. Our kids enjoyed the pool as well. Other than the trash left in the room, it was a good stay overall.

Very nice hotel. Staff was great, rooms were in good shape. Beds were awesome. Kind of a rough area, but the hotel itself was great.

Standard good condition holiday inn. I was also at the convention center for a birthday. It was nice and clean and everything was in order. Bar was good. No pacifico beer.

Older hotel needs updating and better lighting. Friendly from desk and shuttle drivers. Showers will rip your face off the pressure is so high. No low flow showers here.

Hotel was nice. Asked for coffee which was out at 9AM and was told to walk over to the restaurant and ask. Instead of her getting up and going to make some more or bring more out. Restaurant is slow, so it’s going to take a while for that to happen. Just be aware that there is a 5 different taxes levied against your stay each night. Close to an additional $20 a night. This is some serious gouging by the cities.

This is the friendliest Holiday Inn that I have ever been in! The staff, from the front desk to the cleaning services, we're top notch and very helpful with all of my needs. There was a bad storm that went through area while I was there that knocked out the power for quite a while. The staff handled things extremely well and there were plenty of areas in the lobby and surrounding the lobby that accommodated all of us. The rooms are a little "tired" But very well kept. Bathroom was clean, which is a huge deal for me!

Don't even have coffee in the morning! I had a 6am flight and was put on the first shuttle at 4:30am. When I got down to check out at 4:18am and looked for coffee at the usual place, I was told that the coffee is being made and would only take a few minutes, because after all they don't guarantee coffee until 5am. First it doesn't make sense for an airport hotel to have coffee all day long EXCEPT for the red eye flights. Then by 4:22am, the reception guy asked the coffee guy if the coffee is ready and the coffee guy replied, "Oh you want coffee? I'll put it on now. " Then the reception guy told me it's OK since the coffee would only take 7-8 minutes. Nonetheless I was sent back to the room use the coffee maker. By 4:27am (right after I got into my room on the top floor! ) I was told the shuttle is leaving, and by the time I got down there, the coffee that was supposed to be ready "within 7-8 minutes from 4:22am" is still not ready! What good is an airport hotel without coffee in the morning?!

Called the hotel to ask about park and fly policy. Spoke to a young woman who assured us we could leave the car there while away and utilize their shuttle service. Made the reservation online, arrived at the hotel and upon checking in reviewed the shuttle policy. Upon leaving the next morning, we asked if the was a certain place to park and how far ahead we needed to call for a pick up from the airport. We were told to be sure to park in a lighted area and to call when our plane landed for the shuttle to pick us up.
We called the hotel to say our return flight was delayed and give them a heads up on our arrival. We were promptly told they would NOT be picking us up as we had no reservation for that night. We were then told that the policy changed 2 years ago. When asked tried to explain we were told otherwise, Asst. Manger Apul told us rather nastily we could take a cab. He then hung up on me.
I have no problem taking a cab but be up front about it initially. Stayed at a Marriott in Charleston and they were very gracious when we used their shuttle. We will be sure to stay at Marriotts again.

The team at this location are amazing! They are friendly and have excellent customer service. Yolande Dew is the best at what she does! Thank you to the entire team for caring for our group the past 5 months. We appreciate you!

The light skinned heavy set woman at the front desk was so rude that I just walked out. That’s it. That’s all I have to say. :)

AWFUL 'customer service' from their director of sales Lynwood Pixley! My fiance and I booked and signed a contract under the previous director and when we emailed the director of sales we got an email back saying that he, Lynwood Pixley was now the director of sales and that he 'will follow up on this and get back with you. ' Over a week went by and he never got back to us so my fiance had to call twice and he still never picked up the phone or got back with us. Then multiple people called from our wedding party and were unable to book in our room block so wedding guests had to book elsewhere and when one of our guest called 4 times, Lynwood did not answer the phone and get back to her. Then my fiance called and Lynwood answered the phone 'Lynwood' and proceeded to just transfer my fiance back to the front desk without explanation. We were told by the friendly front desk receptionist Tiara that we have 12 rooms still available. So we are not sure why we are having so much trouble booking rooms. Apparently one of the bridesmaids has still not been able to book a room. This process has been a joke and we have been EXTREMELY disappointed and would like a response from the hotel as to why Lynwood Pixley has been ignoring our inquiries and being of little help!

Found a huge toenail next to the bed. Crumbs under coffee table and bathroom floor was suspect. Room was just renoed though, I liked the complete blackout shades and coat hangers. Treadmill out of order, ancient stairclimber, and wires sticking out of bike. Front desk said they’d give me points to make up for it, got 10% of their offer. Breakfast crew was pleasant.

I was here for a model thing it was so nice. They had free coffe. Theres food places all around so plus. I was very pleased.

Mr. Bernard working the front desk was one of the most courteous, well mannered gentleman I have had the pleasure of meeting in a long time. Everything was wonderful!

Nice new hotel. Everything great: Clean, welcoming, linens & bed great, fronte. Desk clerk Mariah very accommodating & even took many photos of us on New Years Eve. Convenient to downtown Columbia too.

Have stayed at this property multiple times. Breakfast is subpar. Service is subpar. Get their voicemail when trying to book Corporate rates. My Sales Administrator simply refuses to deal with this property whatsoever. Hot water works half the time on the higher floors. Do not have a business meeting/function at this property.

They need to tell people that breakfast is not included in the $100+ dollars that they charge. Its breakfast for $12 served by the Resturant/Bar inside the Hotel. Washing machine will not accept money and front desk was rude and said they are not sure who deals with it or if it would be fixed by check out.

Nice place, very consistent with Holiday Inn & Suites. Comfy beds, Wi-Fi was pretty good. Good breakfast as well.

I had an unexpected stay at the Holiday Inn West Columbia. My flight was cancelled and I was able to stay at this hotel for the night with a voucher from American Airlines. So although I was not a "paying" customer, I was treated as I was a VIP. First of all, Ryan, the shuttle driver had to come to the airport twice because I was in the wrong place to be picked up. Allison, at the front desk and on the phone was very sweet and kept me calm the whole time. I really appreciate Holiday Inn and their staff for making this unpleasant situation into a learning life experience. The hotel is clean, comfortable and great. Yes, I highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast not included. Old and noisy air conditioner (complained but no change). Room is big but nothing special. There is a huge empty space.

It was nice but for the price, it should have had free breakfast and a better view. My view was the run down crack head motel on the other side of the pool. I would stay here again despite those two complaints. The steak was excellent and my server was excellent. I think his name was Frank? The best steak I've had in awhile.

The hotel is nice and very clean. The person handling check-ins today was not very friendly or welcoming. If I am staying at your hotel, I believe I should feel welcomed.

A funny and friendly staff. Plus the restaurant connected to the hotel make it easy to find a tasty bite without ordering out or trying to find something further away.

Very nice appearance. Maintenance is a little lax. I was very dissapointed in that just because we used our AAA membership that they told us that we were not allowed to have breakfast. Breakfast is usually part of the cost of the stay. Very disappointed that this place wants to penalize you for trying to save money.

Nice newer hotel with large rooms. Staff are all great, good restaurant plus cheaper options within walking distance. Small issue with the extended stay motel next door and noise.

Internet was ridiculously slow at 3 Mbps down, but oddly 21 Mbps up. The HD quality of the TV wasn't very good. The DIRECTV DTA being used allowed for a guide and worked adequately. There was no complimentary breakfast even though the food in the restaurant was the exact same type and quality you would normally get free anywhere else. For no apparent reason, there was a waitress there to provide drinks while all the food was buffet style. This simply complicated things needlessly. It would have made way more sense for the drinks to be self served, like at every other hotel. Although there was no signage and the staff made no mention of it, the pool was closed. This made for some very upset children and some very frustrated parents. This is something the staff should mention upon check-in and there should be prominently displayed signs to warn you.

Usually our stays at the holiday inn were always 5 star, but this one was falsely advertised. We got the room online and the room said there was a pool and free breakfast, if we wanted access to any food the hotel had to offer we had to pay extra and as for the pool, there were two of them, 1 inside and 1 outside, but neither of them were opened. When we asked the lady at the front desk she simply stated that they're weren't going to be open until Memorial Day.

Front desk checked me into a room that either had a) another guest already in it, or b) had not been cleaned from the night before. This was after 6 PM the night of check in. After using the fitness room the next morning I returned to a shower with no hot water. Spoke to front desk clerk (nice guy) who stated that the cold water was a KNOWN ISSUE here? I paid $180 for this room, which is utterly ridiculous for a IHG property, and I can't take a hot shower? Steer clear of this one. Spire Elite IHG member.

The Suites are excellent keeping with theme of climate change the only that I would change more lights the room is too dark and the bathroom needs an exhaust fan. Over all a very enjoyable stay.

The rooms are great an clean but what ever you do dont get the breakfast bar.

The manager in this hotel is so rude! Even negotiate with him, he is stubborn! I admit it's my fault to book a wrong date, but I asked him to help me change the date, he neglected. And I told him, if he promise he can give me the refund, I can book a new one right now. But he refused. I will never choose this hotel! Never! It's not about money. It's their service! So rude!

Definitely one of the nicest hotels in the West Columbia area! With traveling being a major part of my job for and my company being large corporation, hotel brand preference is usually left up to our own discretion as long as the rate is within reason of our corporate policy. The Holiday Inn is not at the top of my list when it comes to hotel brands I choose to stay at, so when a colleague recommended it I was a bit hesitant. I'm glad I listened to the recommendation and book…ed this hotel. I was amazed by the first impression set by their lobby and it maintained itself to the room as well. It has the look and feel I have come to expect from a full-service Marriott, so I was blown away to know that this is actually a Holiday Inn. Here are some recommendations to management for continued success: 1) The lamp on the bedside nightstand should include power outlets on the base to allow for phone charging or laptop use from the bed. Most hotels offer this now and it prevents me from unplugging the alarm clock!
2) Don't cheap out on the desk chair for the rooms. You've done a great job thus far, maintain it throughout. The wear and tear was present with cracked leather and torn arm rests.
3) The restaurant needs a bit of work with their menu and flavor. With it being one of the few sport bars in the immediate area, I understand the appeal from the local residents, but I bet most are coming just for drinks. I had dinner the first night and it was just ok.
