We were there this weekend for my birthday present and it was our first time. Our experience was amazing. Massages and food and drinks and service everything was amazing. The girls in stonecutters are amazing and Michael the waiter at Edgar’s was the best! Such a beautiful place I wish we could’ve stayed longer! Oh and the attention to cleanliness and distancing due to covid is probably the best I’ve ever seen so hats off to you all for that. Thank you we will be back!

We stayed in the “study room”. I loved the room, it was a cozy atmosphere. I thought it was a great overall experience. All of the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food & drinks were delicious. The wine tasting was also a great experience, staff was very knowledgeable about the wines. We will definitely be back!

Definitely a let down… we went for our 35th wedding anniversary. When my husband made the reservation, he told them it was our anniversary. We were seated and a waiter came over to introduce himself, got our drinks, then he took our dinner order. The menu is limited and very expensive. There was a woman there celebrating her birthday who was obviously very drunk. Our waiter doted on this woman the entire evening, gave her a free dessert with candles because it was her birthday. The table next to us was another couple celebrating their anniversary also, their waitress gave them a beautiful dessert to share with Happy Anniversary written on it. We left there feeling very disappointed, should have listened to the locals who suggested another place to celebrate our 35th anniversary. Definitely won’t go back.

What a beautiful building. And the restaurant? The bread bowls really stood out as special! Delicious all around. The wine tasting hosts in the shop was so sweet also! Thanks for having us.

Belhurst Castle and Winery is a perfect location for any gathering. A gorgeous view, we had a wine tasting and then ate lunch in the Stone Cutters Restaurant. The food was plenty & delicious. Perfect atmosphere and friendly staff.

Service was always top notch. Restaurant was very good and romantic. Dinner and breakfast.

We went for out 2nd wedding anniversary and the staff was awesome! Food and wine was delightful. Love the old world feel.

My husband and I had our rehearsal dinner here. Darlene was amazing to work with! They allowed us to visit and meet with them, and we're always professional and responsive through email. It was super easy to create a custom menu for our event. We were even allowed to use the space to rehearse for our wedding the next day! We felt like royalty being served, and our family and friends raved about the food selection and alcohol selection. We will definitely be coming back!

Although beautiful, we paid a small fortune for a brunch. There were no plates out and half of the buffet servers were empty. What was there was dried out and cold. The waffle was so hard you couldn’t chew it. We walked outside to see the lake and were told we couldn’t be out there because there was going to be a wedding later. He was very rude. The whole experience here was awful.

Great view and good sandwiches. We enjoy returning there every year in the fall. Wine tasting and lunch. Staff is very accommodating and friendly.

Love the ambiance but, won't be back! Wait staff has little to no interest in serving and the food was lack luster in flavor and care in presentation. We've eaten here a few times before, thinking they were "off" the first two times. 3 strikes you're OUT! We wont be back! The only thing this place has going for it is the location… the view of the lake. There are other restaurants with much better food… this is NOT one of them!

The customer service level I received from Sam and her Manager in the Gift shop were far beyond measure. I had an odd and difficult request and they made it happen for me. It is far and few between to receive that kind of customer care. Thank you Ladies!

We were there today for wine tasting and lunch. The chocolate and wine pairing was delicious and the food and service were fantastic at Stonecutters. We ended the experience with a glass of wine overlooking the lake. It was a great experience!

This was the worst winery I have been too. The bartenders were rude they served sweet wines then dry then sweet again. It made the tasty not worth it. They were not organized, rude, and were not willing to talk about the wines with us. Building and view are beautiful.

Can’t really review the hotel because we never made it, however not impressed with the customer service. I was giving a gift certificate as a wedding gift. I “saved” it for my first anniversary. Of course I now am unable to find it. When I called I was basically told they wouldn’t help because it took too much time to look it up. Yes. I lost it. Yes. It was my fault. I am surprised at how little they are willing to go out of their way to help potential guests. No response to my message when I attempted to get help a second time.

This stay was just okay and here is why. Fire Alarm sounded for about 40 minutes during dinner. I had to stand outside just to get a break as I developed a headache from the alarm. This happens fairly frequently per our waiter. None of the wait staff seemed to be concerned and offered no solution for its guest. 3 out of 10 meals were cold. Steaks were returned and reheated which changed a medium rare steak to a well done one. This is an á la carte restaurant and I expect more. We have eaten/lodged here 3 times… this was the least favorable experience.

Overrated. The grounds were very nice and the view across the lake was beautiful, but I found the service was poor. The bed was very uncomfortable, and housekeeping was worse than poor. We stayed three nights and one day the bedspread was simply pulled up over an unmade bed. Yup, not a word of a lie. The fitted sheet wasn't even pulled down over the side of the bed. It was bunched up under the pillow. I rarely write reviews, but from a service and housekeeping perspective, I felt compelled to review this time. Not to mention the train that goes between the Hotel and the waterfront at about 5:30am. The continental breakfast featured Frosted Flakes, Count Chocula, and Fruit Loops — no unsweetened cereal of any kind. There were bagels, danish, mini-muffins, oranges, apples. No yogurt, no bread for toast. And no coffee before 7:30am? Seriously. No coffee before 7:30 — by design! Normally, I make allowances when it comes to continental breakfasts, but anyone with dietary concerns, beware. And if you're diabetic, well, you'll simply have to go out somewhere for breakfast. At the price of $300+ per night, I expected considerably better.

The Belhurst Castle Experience : Belhurst Castle built in the 1700s and has undergone transformations throughout the years. Elegant, antiquities and historical. Pleasurable experience great quiet getaway. Wine vineyard intoxicating and continuous flow of various wines through out the castle. Various beauty and body treatments available. Great food menus! Execellant welcoming staff Highly recommended to kings and Queens.

My boyfriend's family rented a house for the week nearby so we visited this winery in addition to a few others. We stopped by twice. I did a cheese + wine and a chocolate + wine flight here and was blown away by the customer service. Everything was delicious and the wines paired beautifully. I ended up buying a bottle of the Belhurst semi-dry Riesling to take home. I also briefly saw the spa next to the wine shop and it looked luxurious and relaxing. It was out if my price range unfortunately.

Lovely atmosphere. Cool building and gorgeous grounds. The food was good but service was a bit slow. I think the 2 restaurants share a kitchen though, and there were 2 weddings! So overall, very pleasant.

Beautiful grounds and architecture. Had lunch at "Stone Cutters" it was ok. I was going expecting horseradish sauce but only mayo was on my steak sandwich. I opted for mixed greens they were warm and it came with a friend pickles. Presentation was very nice. My husband had a burger, it looked pretty good, he liked it. The bar tenders were very nice. I liked the gift shop.

So far, my fiance and I are getting married here in August 2018. Getting close too. Lady there that is working with us and she is fantastic! The food here is delicious for what we asked to try for the wedding. The castle there is gorgeous. Enjoying every part to planning as the day gets closer and closer. Can't wait.

I went to Belhurst Castle and Winery to taste test some of their wines. For a reasonable $10 you get 5 drinks and 5 chocolates or cheeses to be paired with them. I enjoyed 1 out of the 5 thouroughly so it was worth the trip. Afterwards my friends and went to the bar to get drinks to carry around while we walked outside. The view is amazing an the atmosphere is very relaxing.

We went to Belhurst Castle for a wedding. We arrived early, ventured down to the dock and enjoyed the beautiful view of Seneca Lake. We also popped into the tasting room. I chose the wine and chocolate flight, which included a sampling of 5 wines paired with 5 artisanal chocolates (I would definitely recommend this! ). My husband sampled a beer flight. There was also an option to just sample wine or do a wine/cheese flight. All options were $5-$10 dollars, so this was a fun alternative to just grabbing a drink at the bar, though we had friends who did this and sat on the patio, another lovely option to enjoy the lakeview. We had a wonderful first visit!

My fiance and I went to a wine tasting here a year ago and decided that we absolutely had to come back and spend the night. Which we just did and we absolutely loved everything about it! We were able to upgrade to stay in the castle as they had some rooms open up that previously were booked, so when we expressed desire to stay in the castle as opposed to off-premises Scott behind the counter made it all happen! He was extremely helpful, very nice and really made our day! Because of that we decided to spend our entire day right there as opposed to going to different wineries and it was wonderful. We enjoyed our time at the stonecutters pub, enjoyed walking around the grounds, sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine, a delicious dinner at Edgar's, and top the night off sitting around the fire outside! So if you love beautiful old Victorian historic buildings, good wine and good food, learning about the history of the building which a lot of the staff new and told us about it and just being treated wonderfully and enjoying the surroundings this place is for you! Five stars and we will be back!

We had a very nice lunch at stonecutters restaurant on the patio great steak sandwiches along with a great wine tasting in the gift shop would recommend it to all my family and friends travelling from Canada.

The facility is gorgeous. The original Castle is in perfect condition. The additional building that was added serves wonderfully for a large event. The food is cooked to order from appetizers to main course. All meals were excellent. The staff courteous, professional and happy in their care of us. The rooms were nicely updated and still kept with the authenticity of the castle. The price was definitely on the high end. And they gave us our money's worth in quality, Style, details, and good care. The view of Seneca Lake from the grounds is lovely. Even internet worked well. The following Day brunch was equally delicious as the food the night before.

Our first day arriving the room was dirty. Plaster dust behind the TV. Carpet needs ripped out and replaced. At least they give sleepers. The bartender in Stone Cutters was rude to all even the employees. The next day had our sign out for our room to get cleaned. They made bed and didn't pick up any empty glasses. We were going to try Edgars but ran into a couple different couples who were not impressed. Came back to room after we told them we were going down for messages and still not picked up. The grounds are gorgeous. Spoke with the management about our experience. They were sorry but for what you pay for a room there thought it would be a lot nicer. Isabella Solon was GREAT! We had massages and pedicures. Staff was excellent at the Solon. Not worth the $$$$$$$$

My brother and his wife were here from Georgia for my niece's wedding. They visited Belhurst for lunch twice while they were here and LOVED everything about it. Service was great, food was delicious and the grounds were magnificent. So proud to live in the Finger Lakes and to have the Belhurst to show off to family and friends! Patti Ciancaglini.

The winery's tasting room had an assortment of fun trinkets to browse, along with their wines. Staff were courteous and knowledgeable and quick to take care of everyone. The view of Seneca Lake is beautiful! Had an enjoyable time!

Wonderful place! Attended a wedding and the staff was wonderful and the place is just amazing! We stayed at the White Springs Manor which is off site. We enjoyed that so much! It was secluded from the hustle and bustle of the castle and felt like we were on a private plantation all too ourselves! Breakfast buffet was outstanding! Staff, food and drinks were all excellent, the wedding staff were so attentive and accommodating!

Went to a bridal shower in a private room. We had the brunch buffet and the food was incredibly delicious. Even the potatoes tasted extra yummy. The service was good. Even though it was rainy and goomy outside it was a warm and enjoyable atmosphere inside. Absolutely would recommend for any shower or event or just a nice meal.

This place looks amazing on the outside. We arrived towards the end of the night and our bartender who served the wines was decent. She was not very knowledgeable about the establishment and had to ask her coworker for the answers to the various questions we had about the wines. I enjoyed the wine and cheese pairing for $10 and we were happy the tasting room was open till 730 on a Sunday. I usually don’t like Chardonnays but I really enjoyed theirs.

We went there to eat. We had a private room, which was nice — and the room had cool stuff in it. But we hardly ever saw our waitress — e. G. I think my water never got refilled. Maybe they happened to be short-staffed that day? I got the prime rib. It was just ok or maybe a tad below that. But the price was reasonable. And the Belhurst salad was better and the mushroom side was delicious!

Terrible experience! Besides the good service and okay Calamari appetizer, our entrees were tasting horrible. We order Filet Mignon and Rib Eye, both were supposed to be grilled, however they tasted like boiled meat, they were uneatable. The sides a la carte were also disgusting, our broccoli over cooked, the mushrooms tasted like the one you buy in cans and the risotto were way too soft and tasteless. It’s a overpriced place! We can’t believe they are still in business! Just don’t waste your time or money!

Had lunch at Stone Cutter's with a large group. I had a BLT with melted cheese and a salad. The sandwich was very good and the mixed greens were a nice complement. The server was efficient and friendly. It was a very good experience. I would definitely recommend Stone Cutter's.

Was there to talk to Carmen about a wedding and did a tasting with Chrissie in the tasting room. Carmen is a ball of energy, so organized, so thorough and so sweet. Chrissie was very knowledgeable and warm. Even if we don't have our wedding at the castle we will be going back for a holiday.

My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast buffet here with a fantastic view of the like. The server was very courteous, and was very helpful in finding a caffeine free tea option upon request. The setting is really quite something; the woodwork in the castle is beautiful.

My wife and I went here for our 1 year anniversary. Ate a great dinner and bought a couple of bottles of wine from the gift shop. Went to our rooms to enjoy the hot tub and drink the wine we bought. We tried to lite the fireplace to set the mood, but it wasn't working. Called the front desk where we spoke to Chris who told us he would be right up to lite it after he checked a guest in. We waited an hour and I called the front desk again where Chris gave me the excuse that he was going to be right up once his partner arrived. Needless to say he never showed up and by then the mood was completely killed. We told the lady at the front desk in the morning when we went to check out where she assured us that she was going talk to Chris about it. I'm sure Chris is really going to learn his lesson after getting lectured (sarcasm). Between the rooms, the overpriced wine, and the way over priced dinner we dropped over 600 dollars for one night here you would think we could get our fireplace lit. This is a lesson learned and we will not be coming back.

Don't book room 107 if you want to sleep past 5;30 AM! Sadly disappointed at the room and the subsequent staff response to our miserable stay at the castle. Room 107 is called the "butler's room" for a reason — mold in the tub and the room is directly over the kitchen. When staying in this room be prepared to hear kitchen staff until 11:00 at night and then starting back up at 5:30 AM. Staff's response to this miserable stay was a laugh followed by the girl handing me my receipt! Too many choices on the lake for a miserable room and un-accommodating staff!

Belhurst castle and vineferra inn are not to be missed. The castle it self is beautiful and dinner at Edgars captures the essence on what you think a castle looks like. In addition, the winery provides several good wines, and each sample is relatively cheaper than other wineries. The view from the rooms are great in the inn, and very spacious. Highly recommended if you can afford a night.

My new husband and I came to stay at the Bellhurst Castle for our "mini-honeymoon", because, lets face it, the concept of staying at a CASTLE sounds so romantic and majestic. Well, I was very unimpressed with our room. We got placed in the bamboo room because that was all they had available when we made our reservations. We walked into the room and our excitement just dropped. The carpet needs to be fully replaced. (I didn't even want to take my shoes off) The wallpaper looks extremely outdated. The bed is small and has a thin, scratchy quilt on it. (NOT COMFY! ) We were coming here under the impression of staying in a luxurious, elegant room. I mean it's a castle for goodness sake, not to mention the price we paid for it! My husband and I just sat on the edge of the bed so disappointed, and he kept saying he felt like we were staying at "grandma's house". Doesn't really set the mood for a romantic honeymoon weekend :-/ The only impressive thing about the room was the shower. It was very nice. The restaurants are both wonderful, I will say that! And the Bellhurst Castle does have probably one of the most amazing brunches I've ever been to. But, come on lets update that room a bit and get that nasty stained carpet out of there!

Service was great very helpful. The castle has a beautiful view over looking the lake. Perfect place for weddings. The wine we tried at the tasting was delicious. Definitely a place to stop if on the seneca lake wine tour!

We went for the lunch buffet. Very nice time with friends not crowded on a this Monday. Food was very good. Staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. Castle grounds were week kept for a walkabout.

Attended a wedding here. Growing up in Rochester, I've lived hearing about the wonder and majesty of "Belhurst Castle". While the event was nice, it felt like something was missing that made this place seem like something more than just a party house. The service outside was interrupted by constany speed boats yelling from people on he lake, as well as a large group of people who were visiting the grounds for something other than a wedding. The party room seemed like any other you'd attend, while the bathrooms were not air conditioned and quote over-heated. All-in-all, I love the couple who chose to get married, but came away from the "Castle" (which I can't see how they get away calling it such) very unimpressed.

I was there for a wedding. Its an absolutely gorgeous venue. The staff was wrll trained and very polite. The appetizers were good, but the entrees were nothing to write home about.

So belhurst is a hotel and restaurant located on the top of Lake Seneca, near the Geneva Waterloo area. My friends and I I'm sure that we will get lunch there since we had search good experiences at the place previously. While this would be a good place for decent attire, I'd say dress or business casual, they do let you in if you're in normal casual wear. So we order our usual meals along with an appetizer of fried pickles, which from Belhurst are one of the best items on the menu alone. I had to say their dessert it's spot-on. If you go there I definitely recommend trying their key lime pie cake. Other than the food it's a great place for weddings, great place for a good view of Lake Seneca.

Stopped in to Stonecutters Tavern for a quick bite. The Tavern staff were helpful but the kitchen needs work. We ordered a Mac and Cheese with lobster knuckle meat and a salad. The lobster Knuckle was an eight dollar add on. Too bad the kitchen neglected to include it in the dish they delivered to our table. When I spoke to the waitress she insisted the Prosciutto was lobster meat. Eventually, the head waitress came to our table and agreed that their was no Lobster Meat in our Mac and Cheese dish. The head waitress apologized and told us she would comp our deserts. They never did. The fondue plate was excellent. I'd go back again for the fondue, but I wouldn't go back for dinner, I'd visit the actual restaurant, Edgar's.

We stayed at the playhouse at White Springs Manor. It was a cute little house, and is nice for a family, but there were some issues. It had a musty smell to it, a window was cracked, the door to the second room didn't shut properly so it had to be wedged shut. Also, when using the hot tub/ Jacuzzi there was a brown residue left in the tub after both uses. The porch light also did not turn on. Service wasn't the greatest. But it was enjoyable stay.

We had an excellent time at the establishment. The scenery was beautiful and the staff was helpful. The pace was not busy do we were able to have special care fit our large party.

We stopped at Belhurst as a part of a wine tour we had put together. It was a nice place to stop, but definitely had more of an event and dinner space than a winery feel. I bought a couple gifts, but felt that the shop staff was not as attentive as I would have liked.

We went on Easter Sunday for brunch and it was a disappointing experience. There were 6 people in our party and at one point there were 7 dirty plates on our table. Service was very poor. The food was bland and lacked variety. We do brunch at various places every Easter so I realize I have high standards but I expected a lot more from Belhurst.

Wonderful ambiance, unfortunately, the offerings had spent too much time on the hot plate, and were dried out with shriveled greens. Despite that, the food was still decent.

Horrible brunch. The food was dry. Wet. Soggy. Cold. Chewy. You name it. So bad I had to apologize for taking my wife here.

We got married at Belhurst in 2010 and keep going back for the brunch. It's seriously the best brunch ever. So many different foods and all of them excellent. Plus mimosas and Bloody Marys are included.

I am actually getting married there this summer so we keep going there for lunch and things while we're out there running errands. We always have a great time good food and great service. Staff is always friendly and willing to help and go the extra mile.

We stayed at Belhurst in the castle chambers for a romantic weekend getaway. We were very pleased with everything. The service was wonderful; everyone was helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in. The room was clean and comfortable. The food was excellent. We had a great stay, and we will visit Belhurst Castle again.

The food is top notch but service is hit or miss depending on the day. If there is a wedding or party going on there, just leave. You will get sub par service so that the staff can favor the larger group.

We went there for a wedding this past weekend. We were extremely disappointed. The website shows all these beautiful rooms, ours was just like any other hotel room. Nothing fancy for special about it, other than the price. Way over priced. The walls were never finished being painted. The cleaning of the room could use a lot of upgrading. The television screen was smudged and filthy. Every picture in the room had quite a bit of dust on the top of them. The sink had a crack in it. There was only 1 wash cloth. The Bride was told that the bar would be open until 1am, as we were sitting outside next to the fire pit, the bar closed at 11pm. There was a drone flying around outside taking video of us, that was very disturbing. Just overall not impressed.

Lackluster accommodations for this price point. For over $250 per night I was expecting a much nicer experience. The building and grounds are very nice but the rooms are dated and uncomfortable. The bed in our "suite" had to be 20 years old and was just downright unpleasant to sleep in. The whole room had the feeling of a Holiday Inn from the 1980s. This will be my first and last time visiting the Belhurst.

Writing on behalf of the Geddes Seniors — 56 festive bus-trippers, having arranged a trip to include a matinee show in Rochester and a dinner at the Belhurst. It appears that all of the guests were sorely disappointed when they were sent to the bar for cocktails — and no bartender was available (one for 56 people — she was in the back making drinks) ; they were offered to "fetch" their appetizers — cheese and fruit from the stationed buffet — — with their dinner plates. When the Caesar salads — a plated course — were served — they were dry and inedible, scarcely dressed. And if you used your plate for appetizers — you missed out on the salad as the staff overlooked anyone without a plate (as base plate). Those people who requested coffee as their beverage of choice were told that they could not have it until desert was served. Only when the person who'd arranged the trip intervened — did the carafes of coffee come pouring from the kitchen. $11.50 for a Cosmo, $8.00 for wine. Remember — there are plenty of active retirees who are on the run out there, looking for some adventure and a good meal! Best to take notice — take care and keep in mind which side your bread is buttered.

I had my wedding reception at the Belhurst and it was a wonderful experience! Kelly was very accommodating. Since I live overseas and I wanted something to be well planned and beautiful without causing too much stress on my family, I worked with Kelly through e-mail and over the phone to plan everything, while my sister simply handed her the flowers, and everything was beautiful! I was told I wouldn't enjoy my wedding because of all the details that you can easily get caught up in, but thanks to the helpful staff, all of those details were covered! Now I have lovely photos to remember the most special day of my life.

Great place! Beautiful, room was nice with fireplace and got a great price online too! We went in Feb and snowed that weekend, made getting around not great, but very pretty to look out window over the lake. Would go back again! Staff nice, food in resturants was good a bit pricey but for get away weekend. It was perfect.

My husband and I stayed at the Belhurst a night while we visited Seneca Lake for a weekend getaway/wine tour. I was a little disappointed that the room was not as modern as I expected a hotel at this price to be. By modern, I mean the room did not have a small, outdated TV and the bed was a little flimsy as well as the mattress cover was a little dated. It seemed like it was something out of a motel but it was fine for one night's stay. I'm not trying to be picky, just being honest. Other than that, we were pleased with the double showers, the hot tub and the cleanliness of the room. The castle is gorgeous and has some really nice views but I think if we plan on going to Seneca Lake for another overnight stay, we'll save a little bit more money by staying at the Ramada for a cheaper cost. The staff was very friendly though which is something I do want to point out and we were also able to get a free wine tasting with our stay, another plus. Also, if you are looking to dine at the castle, Edgar's is a great choice. We made dinner reservations and were pleased to be seated immediately. My husband had the lobster and the prime rib and he loved what he had. I ordered the chicken and wanted regular potatoes but was told I could only have the sweet potatoes or substitute it for vegetables which I didn't fully understand that one. Most places are happy to make those changes. Overall; happy with the hotel but not something I'd pay that much to stay again.

From my parents. Where to begin? For several years, my husband has wanted to stay at Belhurst Castle in Geneva, NY. We finally had the opportunity August 3rd of this year, only to learn that the Castle had no rooms available and neither did the Vinifera (the addition right next door). The only rooms available were in White Springs Manor. After carefully "studying" the various rooms, we chose the Nicholas Room; which promised, and I quote, "fantastic thirty mile view overlooking grounds and Seneca Lake valley. " The only views you got from the room were of treetops. The lake was nowhere in sight. We also discovered we were the only occupants in this old, out of date musty building. It was spooky. We returned to registration to see if there had been any cancellations in the Castle or Vinifera. They were able to give us 2 nights in the Vinifera room 303. This building is only 10 years old and is in dire need of renovations. Our room did have magnificent views; but that's all it had. The sink was cracked, the frame around the sink falling apart, the towel rack fell when we put a towel on it, the shower for 2 only worked on one side with no water pressure, carpet was faded, the TV was from the '80s. The quality of the bedding and blankets were cheap quality and what you'd probably find in Motel 6. We had planned to have dinner at Edgar's; their famous restaurant. We decided to try it before.

Health Hazard! We came in for Sunday brunch on 7-19-14, I should have taken the fact that we waited for the hostess for over 10 minutes as a sign from the universe to leave, unfortunately we did not. Instead, a member of our party walked in and got the hostess to come out to the front and help with our reservation. We got a table by the window, a paint-splashed, dirty, stained window. The carpet smells and it is dirty, their window treatments are so outdated (not in a classy way) and dirty. The cobwebs in the corners are pretty intimidating, and are a clear sign of the carelessness of the property owners. After seeing this, we still stayed for brunch. Our server greeted us very pleasantly, took our order, delivered our drinks and we did not see her again until the end. When the coffee arrived it was lukewarm, once milk/cream was added, it became iced coffee. The mimosas, were premade in a pitcher so once they arrived to our table they were flat. We walked around the buffet to find very few appetizing items. The vegetable and fruit platters were freezer burnt and looked old, the cheese platter was matte in color with a little "sweaty" film on it. The smoked salmon platter was no where near cold, or even room temperature, it was placed right next to a heated chafing dish. The meats were no better, the carving station was pretty sad looking with clearly reheated, yet also cold, beef and very dry turkey breast.

We had a magical experience at Belhurst for our daughter's wedding in May. The front desk staff was so accommodating. (Thank you Quinn and Kimeka). Our bridal party were treated like royalty at Isabella Spa, when they had massages, and hair styling for the wedding. (Thank you Ellen, Ashley, and stylists). We had a wonderful time at Stonecutters. (Thank you Kelly and staff. ) Most IMPORTANTLY, our daughter's wedding was remarkable. Held in the Meritage Ballroom, Carmen, and her most efficient staff, directed a near perfect event. She is the most efficient and pleasant event coordinator we have ever had the privilege to work with. We could not have done it without Carmen and her staff. We highly recommend Belhurst for so many experiences, especially for a dream wedding.

Stayed at the castle 25 years ago and returned for some nostalgia and wine sampling during a wine and cheese pairing event, which included 9 wineries. Although the room amenities are a bit dated, the vintage decor, ambiance and warm friendly staff more than make up for it, not to mention the spectacular view of Seneca Lake from our window and the free flowing wine spigot outside the door serving the property's signature wine, "Red". The restaurant, Edgar's is on the pricier side, but offers elegant decor and food. Stonecutter's offers a less formal menu of hearty sandwiches, salads, beautiful fireplace, cozy atmosphere and entertainment on Saturday nights. Definitely a Finger Lakes "must see" and stay.

I recently stayed at the Belhurst Castle for three nights and ate at their "premier" restaurant (Edgar’s) two of the nights. I was looking forward to some quality meals but was very disappointed both times. The first night I had the stuffed elk mushroom caps as an appetizer (they were undercooked and bloody yet hard as a rock; how? ) and the Sautéed Herb and Panko Crusted Veal Scaloppini as the entree. The dish came with two of veal pieces one of which was burned black, the other tough and chewy. The sauce had no flavor at all. Most of it went uneaten. I went back the second night hoping I had experienced an off evening. I was seated in a room completely by myself yet there were tables open in occupied rooms during my entire dinner. Very odd but no big deal if the food would have been better. This time I tried one of the Chef's specials thinking it might be better prepared (The mahi-mahi). It was supposed to come on a bed of balsamic rice. My rice had no flavor at all. Worse yet the fish was a small portion, overcooked and dry. The third night I ate at the Stonecutters Grill and ordered the Blue Crab Martini for my appetizer and the Steakhouse Salad for my entree. Both were done to perfection and tasted great. Puzzled, I chatted up the bartender and found out that even though both restaurants share the same kitchen; each restaurant has its own prep line and chef. Bottom line; avoid Edgar’s and if you want to eat on premise go to the Stonecutters.

Beautiful scenery. Dinner was on the high price side although most of our party enjoyed their meals. Stone Cutters which is also on site maybe a better choice. Given the price for the stay I was disappointed that there is only two pillows on the bed. My wife and I like two pillows. I was also surprised that one of the towels was ripped. This is our first trip to wine country and while I like the hotel I would not come back. I would look for something more affordable simply for a place to sleep and eat.
