It is the worst scam on earth they give you an underground bedroom. With elevator sound. You can hear anything even people walking. No Ac at all or heater. K.

While the rooms were small, they were perfectly clean. The lobby felt safe and well manned. I felt invited and watched over. The service was spot on, and I slept well. The only issue I had was room size and Wi-Fi.

Nice, clean room, super friendly staff, daily room service (sometimes pretty late in the day), great location with subway around the corner and lots of restaurants in walking distance, Whole Foods across the street.

Fairly basic but clean and comfy. Room on the 4th floor was big enough for couple. Great location near subway lines and good restaurants and a whole foods.

Poor value for money. Towel rail was falling off wall in the bathroom — very low water pressure in the shower making it more of a dribble. Floors were dirty in the room. We even found a cockroach in our room on the last morning before check out. Rest assured if we found a roach before then we wouldn't not have stayed! Not great experience on any account. On the plus side the bed was comfy saving it from 1 star. Location was good though, easy stroll for the subway. I am confident there would be better hotels in the area though.

The rooms are very nice. Modern and comfortable. I don't give it 5 stars because the cleanliness could have been better, but it was acceptable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We received many shipments during the stay and always with a smile. The area is excellent there are many bars in the evenings and during the day a few blocks from soho, little Italy or China town. Super recommended!

Purtroppo tutti gli hotel di Manhattan sono arrivati a cifre folli, anche offrendo servizi mediocri. Il Gatsby in parte si difende per il prezzo. Nel complesso la struttura è in una buona posizione rispetto a downtown, le camere sono abbastanza pulite e non minuscole. Il check-in solo nel pomeriggio inoltrato e a disposizione un piccolo piccolo bagno per cambiarsi nell'eventualità. Personale cordiale.

Interesting experience… I (and all the neighbors on the floor) could hear what was going on in one of the rooms on the floor (and it was going on for very long). Rooms are tiny. Noise isolation is very poor. Do not recommend for either short or long stay.

You are getting what you paid for. The lobby is simple and clean, but more importantly the rooms are clean and nice as well. They are small but nice. The sheets and towels were changed everyday. I'd choose this hotel over another with a fancier lobby anytime. The staff are super friendly as well.

I loved my stay with you and had a great week. Friendly staff, clean rooms and fresh towels everyday. The service is even provided after my stay ;)

Rooms were very clean. Forgot some things in the room and the staff was very helpful.

The location is convenient and the rooms are normal. The receptionist has a Anthony called the others, and the rest are like 7-11 of the staff. Lobby's help Yourself's card quality is good.

Decent sized room, very friendly staff, easy to find and get to. Was able to relax without paying a fortune.

Location was good. Staff was good. Rooms were nice and clean. The only downside was the room being the smallest hotel room I've ever seen! Maybe 2 feet of walking space along the perimeter of the bed. That being said, everything else was great!

For my needs, I give it 4 stars. It was purely a room so my friends and I don’t need to drive back. I had room on the 5th floor with two beds, yes the rooms were small, but it’s no different that European hotels. It was relatively quiet for a room with a view of Houston st. The beds were probably 6” away from each other, but they were comfy. The pillows were one of the most comfy of any hotels I have stayed in. Honestly, it was probably the best, the bed/pillow combo. If I ever need a room in the city for a crash pad, this is my go to place. Note, I’m a lifetime Marriott Platinum member with over 2, 500 nights to my name and another 1, 200 nights with Hyatt as a Lifetime Globalist member. I also average 250k butt in seat miles a year on panes… so, I was super delighted at this property. Better than any Fairfield in my opinion. I came here to sleep and I got one.

The hotel is decent and has all the basic amenities. The rooms are small but just enough if you will be out and about all day and need only a bed at night to rest. It's clean and the house keeping is good. The front desk staff Peter and Sami are very helpful. The hotel is very close to a Subway station (accessibility can be an issue as there is no elevator or escalator) a whole foods store next to the hotel and the oldest knish (potato filled sweet and savoury food) in the same building. Good for a quick bite before you head out. The location is ideal for bars and has a happening night life scene. One issue, the rooms are not sound proof so if you are a light sleeper, you may have an issue from all the traffic and street noise. Would stay here again.

This was a pretty bad hotel all things considered — it's the epitome of the saying "you get what you pay for". The staff were incredibly nice and warm but the rooms and the general hotel were quite terrible. My room was in a basement — I've never seen anything like that before and it was miniaturized — it was tiny. The bed looked like a double but it was a single with tiny pillows. I had a desk that was tiny, just pay close attention to the remote control vs the size of the bed. My window was looking into the sidewalk and people could also see into my room, you could also see (from the outside) other people's rooms as well. It's absolutely ridiculous when you think about it. The doors for some reason had an industrial closing mechanism on them which made them slam shut every time — it woke me up every time someone was leaving and I'm not even a light sleeper. The elevator was noisy and generally everything could be heard all over. The room initially had a bar of soap in a box which was clearly used — it was wrapped in a tissue paper.

Tiny room with tiny bed. I am 5'8" and my legs barely stayed in the bed. Most importantly, very noisy room. You can hear the elevator sounds, machine room noise and outside street noise. You will definitely not be able to sleep here! Only plus may be the tidy room.

Very clean, nice staff, great location, affordable price.

The rooms are small but Anthony was able to upgrade one of it to a bigger queen for me and that helped a lot. This type of small bedrooms are so common in NYC hotels, but Gatsby's rooms are clean, quiet and in good shape. The other hotel staff was also helpful allowing me checkout late. The toilet in my bathroom had an issue since the moment I got there, it wouldn't stop filling fresh water sometimes, but I guess this was trivial. Thank you for the great services.

It's a small hotel just south of the East Village. Only 7 floors and probably 70 rooms so it has a much more personal feel. The rooms are very small but clean and have modern furniture and fixtures. I think the main negatives would be the dingy hallways and elevator and lack of an ice machine.

Wifi was extremely slow couldnt watch a 24 minute video 720p without it buffering every 30-45 seconds ping was over 500 most of the time. The TV and phone were also broken and had a very small bathroom.

Super-friendly and helpful staff! Great location near Chinatown and restaurants. Very close to Subway. Only tiny complaints, which were handled very well by concierge: We had a basement room without a fridge or microwave to start, and would have been nice to get a warning about this — but they very kindly moved us upstairs to a park-facing view at the soonest availability. Ice machine is located in the lobby and only accessed by asking the staff. Rooms were very clean and well-kept. Even though it was an uncommonly hot summer, the A/C worked beautifully. Staff did something very uncommon — They kindly shrugged off the fact that we had booked one too many nights. This was our first stay in this part of NYC, and I could easily recommend the Gatsby for another stay!

Really not that great. Dust all over the rooms, also they like to display their toiletries in the front window it looks very unprofessional and they charge the same as the Trump Soho there is a way too many good hotels to stay in this one. By the way everyone seems to slam their door when they walk about (there are no door stoppers. This will result in you not getting sleep. Like I said I should've went to the shop so hot but anyways my mistake notice for next time please enjoy the photos of the toiletries in the window I think it's very professional and very chic.

The staff were so kind — very hospitable. The room was perfect and very affordable. Very close to lots of great restaurants in the Lower East Side. Definitely would stay there again when visiting NYC!

Great hotel for a short stay. Staff is super friendly and very accomdiating. The area is so authentic and puts you right in the heart of all fun. It's a humble and low key stay but very comfortable. I'm not sure who the the guy at the front desk name was, bald guy with glases, great guy. Really funny. Didn't give 5 stars cause the lobby could get backed up with people through out the day. Would book again soon.

Large Hotel! Small in size but big in its treatment of family, adjusted prices, location and amenities. Ideal to know the city more mind-boggling in the world.

Nice little place in a great location. A bit older, but a really good value. A smoking charge from a different stay had been accidentally placed on me, but after speaking to the manager, it was removed. I was given a discount and upgrade for a future stay. Obviously I wish I didn't have to deal with that kind of thing, but the management is really excellent.

Wow! What a GEM of a find. As someone who loves luxury and lived in NY for 20 years it is difficult to want to pay the high rates at luxury hotels in NY and the thought of more than one night on my friends couch is unbearable I found this place. A true find. Rooms are small but clean, a bit worn in spots but uber tidy, and SUPER friendly staff. The neighborhoods and price just what you want in NY. Cheap, but a bargain to where you will hang out in the room but not enough to waste your time in NY> The entire staff is friendly, helpful, etc from top to bottom.

Bad: The room was felt cramped. Street noice leaked in A Lot. Bathroom fan very loud. AC-unit on heat sounded like a ww2-tank! Good: Good staff. Great location. Lovely eco-friendly foodstore across the park. Good venues for food. Safe box in the room. OK wife.

This place is just okay. It's does the job given the price and convenience of being in SOHO, but I probably wouldn't stay here again.

For the first night I got a room in the basement. After I requested a different room, they put me on their top floor for the 2nd night. They were responsive and friendly, but overall the hotel is quite old with a few updates (beds, bathrooms). Okay hotel if you are looking for something in the area that's not too pricey, but not really worth the money.

Love this Place. The rooms are very small, but its location definitely makes up for that. Just across the street is Joe Doe, one of the best breakfast/brunch places in NYC, and if you are looking to spend some time in SoHo it's right there. The people at the hotel are fantastically nice and the rooms are clean and pleasant.

The care is excellent, also the location. Rooms small but comfortable and clean.

If you don't mind a tiny room, then the GEM's okay. We had booked the hotel was the first hotel of a United States tour and were just shocked, because the rooms were very small and somewhat smelly. The bathroom was big and very clean compared to the room. The air conditioning worked and we served at the reception friendly. For our case we didn't have space in the room. Always nice to lay on bed — find things — then close and turn off at the entrance. It was really tiny. We've been over 3 weeks in the United States had even Las Vegas, San Francisco, Los Angeles and all nature parks in the program. Everywhere, the rooms were great. After closer review, we have paid 10 to 15 dollars more in New York per night & person perhaps, then we had a room with some comfort. Otherwise, the hotel was o. K.

Positive: Well located/close to Metro
Negative: Quite noisy/poorly soundproofed inside/clean rooms just passable: We stayed for 8 days and no housekeeping or changing sheets during this period/TV poorly adjusted.
