WARNING* When I arrived to check in at the hotel I was asked for my bank card for a deposit/incidentals fee of $100. I was told that it would be given back to me as soon as I left as long as everything was in good condition. So I put my card in the reader, it said that it was approved on the screen, and then the young man at the front desk proceeded to tell me that my card declined. I knew how much money was available on my card before I swiped it and that there was plenty to cover the cost of the room and the deposit/incidentals fee. So then I went and looked at my mobile banking app and it said that Best Western had taken $100 from my account for the deposit/incidentals fee as well as $109.71 for the room. So I showed this to the young man at the front desk and he said that they still couldn't rent me the room because they were not able to get the $100 deposit/incidental fee from me. The young man at the front desk said that this happens all the time. I then had to call my bank and make sure that everything was correct on my end, that this wasn't my fault. They assured me that this was not my fault and they told the young man at the front desk that the money had been taken out of my account by Best Western. So then the young man told me he was going to refund me my money immediately and that it would be available so that I could go rent a room somewhere else. That never happened by the way. I was left with $46 in my bank with no place to stay because my card had been charged $109.71 for the room and $100 for a deposit/incidentals fee that supposedly was never taken. The money was taken out of my bank by Best Western and was not available to me. I ended up having to call my Mother to take care of the room and the deposit/incidentals fee. I've never had anything happen like this before and my bank said they have never heard of anything like this happening before either. The situation caused me a lot of stress and it really ruined my day. I was already having a stressful day and was looking forward to relaxing but instead I had to deal with this nonsense. I was in the lobby dealing with this situation for almost an hour. If this is happening all the time like the young man at the front desk said, then it needs to be fixed. It's not okay for them to just leave things the way they are for customers or their staff either. P. S. The hot tub was lukewarm so that didn't help matters. Also I tried to speak to a few different people concerning the matter and I am not satisfied with how everything went. With all that stress and me not being able to enjoy my stay at all because of their mistakes my stay should have been completely free.
