Edit: I was unfairly rating this place earlier. I should be rating it relative to other motel-style lodgings. The mattresses are average comfort and the rooms are clean. The bathroom could use a bit of a spruce up. Breakfast is your standard bare bones continental breakfast (although with waffle maker if carbs are your thing), and there is no fitness center. It is right on Cerrillos road so noise is somewhat of an issue. It's clean and functional, but nothing else.

Generally quite happy. Very comfortable room, and a convenient location for buses and the Santa Fe Place mall. One downside was the noise level in the early morning — — not terrible and not something the hotel can really control, but I was woken around 5am a few times because of engines running right outside.

The hotel was okay. The beds were comfy and the room was an okay size. There was not a refrigerator, which I am used to seeing at La Quinta. Also, the air conditioner did not work very well and was a bit loud. Overall, I am giving this location a 3 because of the comparison to other La Quinta hotels. The location of this hotel is very nice. It is across the street from a mall and lots of shopping.

The rooms are very clean and newly remodeled. The breakfast is very adequate though nothing special — fruit yogurt, cereal, fruits, juices, & milk. The hot meal is waffles. The coffee is good and available all day as is the fruit. The staff is friendly and helpful.

I give my experience five stars. The room was only $85 and in the perfect location. — Less than 15 minutes from downtown, less than 10 minutes to the airport (had to be there at 5am) and a walkable distance to the mall. (Literally shares a parking lot) It was quiet and appeared well-managed. I normally do not go with chain restaurants (Sunday things close early), but the outback beside the hotel was great! They designed a menu specific for Santa Fe. I had sweet potatoes, sprouts, and chicken tortilla soup. Very good, big portions, and cheap! Our room was clean, staff friendly, and a big breakfast spread. (I wasn’t a huge fan of the coffee, but I’m picky) The pool was nice and well maintained and the internet worked! If you are looking to integrate in the culture, this might not be the place for you. If you are looking for practical, affordable, clean, comfortable and friendly I would recommend! Thank you so much for a great stay!

May 10-12 … COMPASSIONATE AND EXEMPLARY SERVICE… A long day's drive from Phoenix on a week-long road-trip, an energy-sapping head cold, and a cell phone/GPS that was in need of repair or replacement… that was the 'baggage' I approached the reception desk with, as my sister and I hoped for a good hotel experience asap. The staff rose to the occasion of every one of our needs… finding the cell service outlet I needed, getting us settled with the exact amenities we were seeking (including a room change that they personnally toted luggage for), and giving us each little bags of treats to soothe our travel exhaustion. And they did it with smiles and words of encouragement throughout our 2 day stay. This was perhaps the most exceptional rising to the occasion by a hotel staff that I have experienced in my many decades of extensive domestic and international travel. Well done!

For the price, it was just fine. The room was recently renovated, with a comfortable king bed and clean/newer carpet and furnishings. The bathroom was clearly not renovated and was pretty run down. Additionally, the shower/tub drain barely worked, very gross (Room 144 if you're reading this, Management. )

We stayed at this location for one night. Staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The place was quiet and clean. I will definitely return to La Quinta on my next travel. The only issue was the breakfast bar. It was a very small place for their guests and the variety was very limited. It was still very appreciated though.

This is a great place to stay in Santa Fe because it is very affordable and clean. You can take a lyft to the plaza for $10… if you drive you have to pay for parking on the plaza. The only complaint is that the breakfast room is always packed! No where to sit.

I am an elite member, and have stayed at many, many La Quinta's. I have stayed at the Santa Fe, La Quinta three times. It is one of the dumpiest ones I have been a guest at. Each time I thought that it would improve. It has not. Each stay included a not-very-clean room, loud guests loitering outside of my room smoking each time, excessive traffic noise, and the last stay, (and it was the last) housekeeping staff stood outside my room door, and watched me take my belongings out to my car before checking out; while smoking and chatting it up. None of them could even acknowledge that I was a guest, and bother to say hello or good morning. I felt like an unwanted intruder, and it was just creepy. I could not wait to be in my car, driving away. I now stay across the road at the Comfort Inn, when in Santa Fe. It is nicely renovated, has indoor room access, a year-round pool and hot tub, friendly and professional staff, very quiet atmosphere, (and it was a weekend night) rooms that are beyond clean and fresh, beds and pillows that are amazingly comfortable, and most important for me; has the feeling of being safe. For twenty dollars less per night, I would recommend considering crossing the street — for a better stay.

Decent place to sleep clean sheets but the beds are small and squishy. This is more like a motel with the doors on the outside. I did not know that when I booked.

Disappointing. This location is an older building, but you can't do much about that. But I do expect my room to be clean. The vanity where the coffee pot is kept, had coffee spills and grounds from the previous occupant. There was also a wad of hair left on the side and inside of the tub. With those obvious overlooks, it makes me question the cleanliness of the overall room that I can't see. The bathroom has no exhaust fan, so smells just linger. The breakfast was disappointing. No protein offered other than hard boiled eggs, no meat, but plenty of muffins, bagels, and waffles. The staff was in the back, joking and laughing so much it was a disruption. And the man working the front counter, came out from the back to blow his nose at the counter. This is the third La Quinta we have stayed at this weekend, and by far the worst! We always choose La Quinta for their quality, attention to detail, and their breakfast. This location fell short of our expectations!

Helpful staff cleared a reservation glitch promptly. Washing machines available got me out of being out of clothes, even though they were way up in the third level. Cozy rooms with comfy beds, clean bathrooms and controlled climate. Free breakfast is well stacked though the service area in the lobby was a bit messy from inconsiderate use by guests who did not clean up after themselves. Free Wi-Fi with no passwords to remember. Location allowed fast access to local stores and historic district. I gladly recommend this hotel for your next visit to Santa Fe.

It was supposed to be a handicapped room, and while the room was handicapped accessable, it was difficult to get into, being Under the stairs. Ramp was too steep for wheelchair, had to use walker. Room was noisy, people outside sounded like they were in the room with us. Windows need to be better. Heater cycled on and off loudly and we got very little sleep, despite the comfortable bed. Needs some work. Wont stay there again. And pretty expensive too!

I stayed here on Jan 13. The check-in process was the fastest I have ever experienced. Literally less than 5 min. The room was clean, tidy and very quiet. Breakfast was slightly sparse (waffles, cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, some fruit, juices, coffee) but delicious and appreciated. Room was an overall excellent value (we seek out pet friendly hotels and this chain seems to be one of the few that is almost universally pet-friendly).

Rooms were nicely decorated; La Quinta has done a remodel of their hotels. That said, this is still an older building. Rooms face outdoor with no interior hallway. Older plumbing means when someone in the room opposite flushes the toilet, you hear it. HVAC unit was also older and loud, but still worked well. Beds were very comfortable. Overall a solid 3 stars and a good value.

This was the first hotel my family has ever stayed at together. I did not like the fact that the rooms are outside-facing (there are no hallways). I was, however, very impressed with the room. Very nice and the staff were amazing!

The hotel is not to far from downtown. It is approximately a 20 min drive. The room was clean and nice. They offer government employee discount!

The building is old and looks a bit outdated. The rooms looked to be updated but lacks attention to detail. The bed was the old box spring style that is like sleeping on rocks. The air quality is rough and made trying to sleep a chore. We actually left a day early because of how miserable sleeping was. For the price, if your trying to find a budget hotel away from downtown this is your spot. Just don't assume luxury.

Location is convenient but not attractive. Strip malls and fast food. About six miles from the Plaza. Hotel is updated nicely.

Comfortable but you can tell it's an older hotel that's just gotten a facelift. Everyone that was checking out had several repairs to the room that needed to be done (she had a running list at the front desk. Plumbing issues (someone had water leaking from the ceiling). Breakfasts were also really crowded. Wouldn't recommend it.

Very nice hotel for under $100 for a king room. Older hotel but completely remodeled. I'm a big fan of La Quinta hotels. Great beds. Great pricing and loyalty program. Pets always stay free. Breakfast varies by hotel but always good. One complaint, the coffee is from liquid concentrate and it's terrible but in room coffee is very good.

The only star this place gets is for the very friendly front service desk. The room smelled weird and our sheets were COVERED in stains, lint, and hair. I have never been so horrified.

With the closing of department store next door, large vehicles can park with no problem. The hotel — is decent enough to sleep, and though clean, is overpriced for what they offer. Not enough electrical outlets in room, and the continental breakfast is just that. Barely adequate.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were adequate and modern. The building appeared dated, but otherwise it was a good stay.

It's a little removed from santa fe.

Reserved in advance using my bonus points. Need ADA room as neither my husband nor myself can walk very far or very well. I was given a 2nd fl room on total opposite end of hotel elevator. No luggage carts nearby. Settled for a 1st floor room not ADA even though there seemed to be many other ADA rooms on first floor with adjacent parking space. Is this what you get when you redeem points? Not happy we had to schlep luggage from parking lot to back row of rooms. At least it's a good room.

Room itself very nice, reasonable rate. Slow drain in shower and not enough electrical outlets. Refrigerator froze all my food.

Our first room smelled strongly of smoke, but the staff were helpful and quick to issue us a new room. Comfortable accommodations for the price.

Working out of town you plan to stay at a comfortable hotel to relax with no worries. Being a rewards member with La Quinta they are always my first choice because I've never had a problem at any of the locations I've stayed at. But I guess the saying "All good things must come to an end" is true. Property being stolen from your bags is unacceptable. I should be able to leave my things in my room while I work the day without a worry. Sadly my stay at this location ended on a sour note. So if you plan on staying here keep your valuables with you.

I stayed 2 nights at the hotel. First, let me say that the location leaves a lot to be desired. While Santa Fe is a great city, the parking lot at La Quinta seemed to conflict with the flow of traffic. Coming back from attractions such as downtown and the plaza, parking at the hotel required multiple u turns for my grandfather which proved difficult for him. Being primarily for tourists, one would expect a lack of knowledge of the street layout and ideally make it as simple as possible to come and go. This wasn't the case. It also was seemingly understaffed as only 4 maids were on duty and our room hadn't been made until the evening, making it difficult to come back and relax in the comfort of our beds. While the cleaners were extremely kind and apologetic (even going so far as to refuse a tip), the shortage of people hired by the hotel to clean 300+ rooms was astounding. The breakfast was served earlier than advertised (which is beneficial to guests in a hurry) and all accomodations were made to ensure a pleasant eating experience.

Booked two doubles and a cot… change my toilet roll and maybe… just maybe… if it's not too much trouble… leave an extra roll. We love starting our morning off using kleenex. Couple this with no mini fridge and a laughable breakfast and its simply not worth coming back again.

This is an older corporate property. If you've stayed at LQ, you'll know that corporate typically means larger, older, run down, and less personal pride in the location. The staff were hanging out in the parking lot smoking and not manning the desk. The security guard was hiding in the stairwells staring at his phone rather than patrolling the property. We had a king two room suite, and there were no sheets, pillows or blanket for the fold-out sofa. It took me 20 mins waiting in the lobby to finally get someone to provide me with the necessary items to make the bed for my children. The bathrooms were dated and there were chips and wrappers underneath the fold out couch, which made me question how thorough their cleaning processes are. Finally, no hot breakfast options other than waffles. No bacon, no sausage, no oatmeal, no eggs. All of these are options in other LQs.

The rooms were a bit small but they were clean. Workers were not polite was hard to request for things from them when they did not want to help. Laundry room was trashy & I mean trashy! There was left over food & dirty diapers piled up in a corner that needed to be thrown away. On the 1st floor at night you could see roaches & other insects crawling on the walk way. There was trash near the bottom staircase in a big garbage container that probably contributed to the infestation of bugs. Continental breakfast was not so continental it had lacked a variety of things to choose from. Biscuits & gravy was the only thing available besides cold cereal & juice. It's a good quick stay to rest & then leave the next day but for a three day stay I would not recommend it.

Nice room elevators and quiet. Only needs a hot tub for that last star. Staff was helpful in working out reservation problems.

Nice room, good service… The maintenance man in his swimsuit and no shirt fixing our door through me off with professionalism but overall a great stay.

Pet-friendly (like most La Quintas). Good-sized, clean rooms with double beds. On the outskirts of Santa Fe — — definitely not "centrally located" but within a 10 minute drive of town.

Great place to stay. Located right in the middle of shopping and dining area in the newer part of Santa Fe. The rooms and property were very nice, everything well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also pet friendly place. Would highly recommend this hotel and we'll stay there again.

For the price, we gave it 5 stars. Pleasantly surprised after moving from a below-standard vacation-sounding chain. Tastefully newly remodeled. If this is La Quinta's new look and feel, then we would be looking out for them in our road trips. Breakfast has eggs, fruits, yoghurt, besides usual bread. Breakfast place can get crowded. They cannot charge more than the bigger names since their premises are motel-type architecture, but I would say they can be considered the top-end of the motels if they keep up with this quality.

Wow the desk clerk Michelle was def high on meth tonight. Not a happy lady. Found a great better deal down the street.

The good: the bed was very comfortable. The television didn't have a ridiculous sound limit (some hotels I can't hear the TV even at full volume). And they had a free breakfast and free Wi-Fi. The bad: the room smelled kind of funky. The desk clerks seemed to be having a rough day even giving a new customer the key to an already occupied room. The beds were only full size, not queens and overall it was overpriced. For me, very 3 stars.

We rented 3 rooms for 2 nights and this was our first and last stay at a LaQuinta. Several of our friends stayed at the Hyatt next door for about $95 night in a much newer and nicer hotel. This is a very old hotel and it shows. The bathtub had water under the floor of the tub which you could feel and hear when you stepped into the tub like a waterbed. The shower heads are fixed and can't move. It took at least 20-30 minutes for the tub to drain, so the next person had to wait for the tub to drain to shower or bathe. The double beds are not "Queen" beds and are actually just full size beds. There are 138 rooms with only around 24 chairs for breakfast which doesn't start until 7 am. You can imagine how long it took for a party of 12 to eat the meager breakfast with nearly every item including coffee being empty. As a result, we had to go to IHop for breakfast with a lot of extra expense 1 morning due to time constraints. We expected much more for the money. For $110 per night you would expect the room and service to compare to similarly priced hotels like newer Hyatt, Comfort Suites or Hampton Inn. We don't mind cheap hotels occasionally, but not when you pay the price for a nice hotel. Unlike the newer LaQuinta, and other hotels, this one has outside entry and the stairs are the closest way to get to the 3rd floor by the rusty steps and catwalks. There are very old elevators at the end of some of the buildings but this was not one of our best experiences.

We use La Quinta's often across the united states as we travel with our dogs and typically have good experiences with them. As for this location — our room was dirty (found stains on comforter and sheets and a shoe under the AC unit from previous guests) and the Hotel is set up like a cheap Motel with a view of a homeless person roaming the property (the entire time we've stayed there) included. All guests with dogs were located on the third floor which was inconvenient when you have to take your dog out several times per day. Currently the Hotel is advertising new renovations — those must have not reached the 3rd floor yet because our room had mold in the bathroom and everything was dated in it. Wifi is free and does not require a password which may attract none-guest parking lot dwellers. The breakfast is served in the lobby, yes in the lobby, which appears to have been renovated/newer than the rest of the hotel. The Staff is very friendly and helpful but I would not recommend this hotel here in Santa Fe.

Very clean room. The manager did me a major solid. Not going to say what it was because I don't want people to attempt it. They allow pets which is great. Good location.

I asked for an early check in at 11am. They said absolutely, so I drove up from Albuquerqe. They made me wait for 4 hours for a room. The first room they gave me wreaked of chemical cleaners. It was so strong you could stand 6 feet out the door and still it was overpowering. The second room was slightly better, but just bearable. At every step of the way I was lied to. They said they would text me when the room was ready. Didn't. Of the hundred or so hotels I have stayed at, this is the worst.

False advertising! Their listing and signs when you enter the parking lot state that they have free Wi-Fi. This is why we choose this location and it does not work. I called their technical support number and they gave a lame excuse for why it wouldn't work. Notice that there is another review for this location saying the same thing a year ago. Obviously they don't mind misleading their customers, and in the course of a year don't want to fix things. I will try to launch a bbb complaint.

This was the hotel I used every time I came home to see family, after my last experience I will stay away. Due to my truck being broken into in albequerqe I was late getting to town. When my wife called she was told "we don't have any reservations under that name". We can live with that, mistakes happen. Where it goes bad is I was charged for the room. Again I can deal with a mistaken charge, the part I can't deal with is I've been trying to get in contact with management and have not received a call back. It has now been four days and we have been told we would get a call when the manager has a chance. Apparently they have more important things to worry about than customer service.

Reserved a king, got a double with very small beds. This caused a very restless night. Breakfast area is way too small. Had to wait like vultures for a table to open up. The internet said we were connected, but did not work. The first outlet I plugged into didn't work. And the light in the bathroom was burned out! The staff was friendly and did the best they could. The parking was also substandard to the size of hotel.

Friendly staff and nice facility in good location. Only beef is my rate went up $10 on a weeknite with no notice. Clerk said they must have been full last nite but parking lot was fairly empty, so feels kinda like price-gouging. If you want a step or 2 above motel 6 this is the place.

Needed a handicapped room with 2 beds and roll-in shower. Called in a. M. Drove 400 miles and checked-in to find they have no such kind of room. No offer to phone around town — just "sorry. ". I had just spent 4 nights crossing the country and staying with La Quinta. I think I'll look elsewhere.
