I don't even want to give this place a star but I had to because I could not post otherwise. Let me start by saying I have just had the worst customer service experience in my entire life. I had made an honest mistake of booking my hotel for the wrong day (May 10th). This was a completely honest mistake. In fact, I came on the day I was suppose to stay at the Hotel in Lees Summit (May 12) and there were NO rooms available. The agent at the front desk was not friendly and was not willing to help me out at all. She just shrugged me and my daughter off and told us to go across the street to Super 8. She said to call the Choice Hotel 1-800 number and talk to someone about a possible refund. Super 8 was booked, but at least Ashley at Super 8 was kind enough to try to help me find another place for the night. I tried calling the 1-800 number that evening, but it was after hours. I called again on Sunday and was able to speak with someone. Hold times were very long. She was able to contact the hotel but the person was not authorized to give a refund. She said to call back on Monday after 10am. I called today (Monday, May 14th) and was on hold over 25 minutes before someone answered. Then I kept getting placed on long holds… was transferred to another department… more holding… then they finally contacted the hotel in Lees Summit and the manager refused to give a full or even partial refund. I was willing to even take a voucher to stay at Choice Hotels in the future … more holding… She was able to give a mere 500 points which is really nothing… then this was the most frustrating part… She said she could get me to another department who would give me a GC and some more points. Well after more holding… I got to a SALES CALL! OMG really? Now I had someone trying to sell me a vacation I did not want and all I really was asking for was for someone to work with me on a minor honest mistake. I really CAN't afford to lose $100 and was trying to get some help with that and you people were trying to sell me more stuff… what the heck? I am seriously stressed out and frustrated. I could have accepted the no-refund answer if it was approached in a timely/empathetic manner… but I am ready to cry I am so frustrated that I used my entire lunch hour to try to speak with someone who may have some sort of empathy or customer service skills and I just kept getting placed on hold and passed around. I can't even describe to you in this email how upset I am with all of this. I am sure you make a lot of money on your hotels. You could probably afford some customer service.
