When I arrived there was a jacket and some plastic trash and lip balm on the floor. I called the front desk and they came and got the jacket. The beds were so soft that I felt like a taco. I called the front desk at 5:00 AM requesting another room due the very soft beds. She recommended that they flip the mattress. The bed was flipped but they didn’t clean the room. A sister friend on mines and I met in the lower lobby sitting area by the fire to have a conversation and wine. We asked the adjacent bar for WINE GLASSES. We were told that since people cut themselves from broken wine glasses in the past she could only give us water glasses. I watched them serve food and wine at the table out there! Both me and my friend are Black Farmers that was attending and presenting at the OEFFA conference. The front desk staff was friendly and the facility was beautiful but the above complaints are real and should not be overlooked especially when I spent over $400 to stay.

Came for the music, but will be back for the food, (delicious carrot cake! ) lovely patio and gardens! The music, food and relaxing atmosphere were perfect. Do not want to forget Tonia and the great service!

I surprised my husband with a night away from home. I got the romance package which was AMAZING! The restaurant was great! We both loved our meal & the room/view was great as I got us a courtyard view. We both enjoyed our stay & will be back in the future!

We met our good friends in the Craftsman Kitchen last night. Neither of us had ever been there before. We were all very happy with our food and the service. A bit pricey but worth it. Highly recommend it!

This is a great place to host an event. All the rooms have a king size bed or 2 king size beds and a small sectional sofa. I love the igloo dining that is super fun. Just a great family friendly place.

If you’re in Newark for your son’s baseball tournament, I absolutely would not recommend staying here. Many teams that stayed here was not happy with how we was treated! Absolutely not kid friendly!

We have been to the event center several times for work but this weekend we got a room for a two day mma event. We were very pleased with the room and service we received. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Always a good experience, definitely recommend!

Hotel is beautiful but please don't go expecting to enjoy the hot tub or a heated pool (Pool is very cold). I can see that this issue has been addressed in multiple reviews but yet it never seems to be resolved. Such a disappointment especially when that's the only reason when came.

Large nicely decorated rooms. Loved the King Courtyard room that has extra large bathroom tub, decent size open sitting area for friends, and sliding glass door to your own little patio with 2 chairs and small table. Beautiful garden and pond view from room. The Event Center and indoor pool & hot tub area are awesome as well. The bar has friendly staff and nice offering of various craft beer. Price is reasonable. Highly recommend.

Thank you for a great stay! We loved the renovations and new amenities. I highly recommend this place to others. My family (dog included) will stay here EVERY TIME we come back to Ohio.

Turned away for shelter during a tornado, quadruple-billed, dirty room, and had to get the bank to help get our money back. Honeymoon completely obliterated. Some things you can just never get back once they're lost… life being among the greatest of value. The honeymoon a distant second. We've been a part of Cherry Valley Lodge's lifespan pretty-much since it opened as far as I know… about 15 years… bobbing in and out for stays or day trips to the water park. But it just seems that in the last couple of years, the staff has been the kind of rude the puts a gal in tears. There's just no calling for condescension like CVL is getting well-known for displaying. Every interaction with the staff seems leave one walking away bruised and battered, even for the simple, benign interactions. The underlying loathing of the clients shows. It's enough to kill a business relationship when a hotel has horribly rude and arrogant staff gifted in the art of being sharp-tongued while so adeptly delivering the "you piece of dog sh. " glare, and it's enough to have had a stay charged FOUR times to our card, with every "refund" resulting in yet one more charge requiring our bank's intervention more than a week later.

Wow, I stayed at the Cherry Valley Lodge for a week. I cant say enough good things about this place. First, the grounds are breathtaking and I can see why this is the place that locals get married. Its a certified arboretum so the grounds are fantastic. Mix in some ducks, rabbits and local deer wondering around, and its a great place to sit back, relax, and take it all in. Second, the staff is the best ive ever had wait on me. I travel a lot for work, and I can tell they care about customer, 'My Pleasure" was heard 1000 times a day. The 3rd and last thing is that they are even making it better. They are spending multi millions to revamp the rooms and some extras like a BREWERY! I cant wait to come back next year to see all the additions and see the friendly staff again. Thank You!

The first thing your greeted with is the dank musty smell when you walk in. The hotel smells like it has been closed for 100 years (It hasn't been closed at all). Then you walk to the front desk to one of the most clueless people in the world. Once you find your way around this building with severely overgrown landscaping and search for the door to go in because you cannot see the "Letter door" they told you to go to. You will finally make it to your room and are greeted with the same musty smell mixed with stale Cigarette and wet dog smell. I was surprised to find there was no bed bugs. Get ready for the real treat! The mattress folds up like a limp taco shell when you lay on it. An air mattress has more structure and comfort than this mattress. Oh and do not be fooled by the pictures on the site. That beautiful water park they show was closed down in November because they sold that building. They do not tell you that either. So the real pool you get is about as big as a large hot tub.

We stayed for 5 nights and it was wonderful. Front desk people were very kind and friendly. I loved the design, decor, and layout of the room and lobby. Awesomely big tub in the room. We did get lost a few times in the halls, but it was nice to wander around and just look at the paintings and such. Great photo ops! The pool and hottub were nice. There were no towels provided, but we brought our own, so no biggie. Food at The Sunflower restaurant was very good and reasonably priced. Lastly we were allowed a super late checkout. (Over an hour! ) Other places have hassled me over simply asking. Will definitely stay here again whenever we are in the area. ~whoop whoop.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. It looks very deceiving from the lobby. Once you enter the room, you'll be greeted by a mixture of scents including, but not limited to: mold, mildew, animal dander, and old smoke. The smell was only impressive because it seemed it may just be one of the few scents you can't become nose-blind to… kept me up all night. I was pleasantly surprised not to find bed bugs while I was there, but while inspecting my super old mattress, I also had an eagle eye view of the box spring which had a layer of dead pill bugs, spider webs, and dust. The bathroom looked clean and slightly renovated. I was actually tempted to sleep in the tub. Try not to stub your toe on the dresser (which I found comical) carefully placed smack dab in the middle of the room. Don't be fooled by the "renovation" until you have some proof that it actually happened. By a few of the other reviews, I would gather some rooms are renovated. Asking for one of their nice rooms may be a benefit to you as there aren't many places to stay in the area.

The stay here was enjoyable. I loved that it was homey and convenient to the event we were in town for. We experienced a maintenance issue and the maintenance gentleman exceeded expectations when fixing the issue. He even came back a second time just to make sure all was okay and bring us more towels. The room set up is kind of odd with the dresser in front of the bed and they had security poles to drop into the balcony door track, which was odd but ULTRA SAFE. What will make me laugh FOREVER is the fact that there was a fingerling potato that we were using as a marker for which way to turn to go to our room. After 10 p. M. You have to come through the front entrance, and every night of our 3 night stay, the same potato lay in the hallway. When we were leaving we even took a moment to appreciate it one last time. It made for quite a memory and was just so randomly amazing!

After our command messed up in booking hotels, they sent us to this one. Upon arrival I was impressed with the grounds as well as the staff. Although our command had failed to provide us with meals, the hotel helped facilitate an amazing dining experience. Although most of the guests were families and business people, the hotel staff was very friendly to us and repeatedly thanked us for our service. The rooms were clean, large, and Minnie had a great view of the pond and cherry trees.

Place seemed really fancy about 15 years ago. Rooms aren't bad. Wouldn't buy food from the bar. $30 a plate. Somethings need updated. Wi-Fi sucks and the TV is old and standard def.

The lodge is beautiful and roomy. The main room is great for pictures for your event. My GPS didn't give good directions after getting off the exit. Just use your eyes and you can get there easily.

Beautiful facility and setting. Is a little worn and dated. Glad to see it will be renovated. Staff very nice.

Not good. Felt like the people at the front desk were looking down there nose at me. Smells like spoiled wet carpet. Never going to stay here again. Would have been better off at the knights inn.

The lobby is great. The staff is absolutely amazing. The food is and restaurant is good. The only reason why there is a 4 is how the room is set up. The dresser is in a very odd place in the room. The dresser is in the middle of the room with a TV on the dresser. There is a bed that is actually behind this dresser with a narrow aisle.

This was a very pleasant experience for me. They have nice rooms with a huge garden tub, workout area, and a beautiful restaurant. It was a very nice place to spend the night.
