Beautiful hotel stayed a night for my birthday with my guy they are friendly staffed and a very clean hotel. They even decorated for Christmas 🎄

Heartless management. Hotel booked through Priceline. Morning of stay my son's Chemotherapy treatments were canceled due to medical reasons and I called priceline immediately, as the reservation claimed to be "Flexible Cancelation". Priceline contacted the hotel and informed me they were unwilling to change the dates or give any type of consideration. I immediately called the hotel and was told the manager would call me back. No return call from the manager from this or several successive attempts to contact. Very poor customer service for a difficult situation in a difficult time. I highly doubt the hotel would have been as financially set back by a canceled reservation as my family was having to pay for 2 unused nights in an overpriced hotel as a currently unemployed parent with a child undergoing Chemotherapy treatments. Very disappointing and disheartening to not receive any consideration or even a return call to discuss options.

I would give 10 stars if I could. I do a lot of traveling and I have stayed at a lot of hotels. This hotel exceeded my expectations by far and then some! The hospitality and friendliness of the staff was some of the best I have ever experienced anywhere. The other major plus was the cleanliness! Especially now with Covid going on I felt totally comfortable being away from home because they made such a huge effort in the cleanliness/sanitizing department. I would especially like to mention Angela at the front desk. She made our stay 100% better and made us feel at home. Highly recommend this hotel!

Booked a room last December and couldn't go due to a blizzard and no travel advisory. Manager would not refund room… said we could move to another date. Booked for May. COVID struck and I called again to request refund and manager refused again! I will never book this hotel again and do not recommend it to others! Absolutely ridiculous no refund was issued due extenuating circumstances out of my control. $400 dollars of hard earned money taken from me!

Clean and great staff warm welcome.

After getting no sleep due to back pain from the firm bed, I checked out early before 11:00am. I was told that I would be charged for two day's, because I didn't give 24 hours notice. I didn't even stay there for 24 hours. I was charged $691.00, what a awful policy.

Very clean hotel, the beds are very comfortable, easy access to the highway 35, the breakfast is awesome and so is the coffee, the staff is very friendly, the bathrooms are very good size and comfortable, a little exercise room would be a nice addition. Thanks for the nice stay.

They really accommodate sports teams. They research your games, have maps ready for you with directions to all of them. Nice areas for parents to gather in the evenings. They even keep track of scores and congratulate you if you win. Very nice and clean hotel.

I was very disappointed with my stay at Comfort Inn West. My husband and I planned a trip for our first wedding anniversary. I booked a room with a king sized bed and sofa. When we checked in everything was "normal. " We were not told that the room we booked and paid for was not the room we were staying in. The room we ended up staying in had two twin beds. I went to talk to the staff to see if there was a mistake and make sure I wasn't be charged for a king sized room. I was told there are no guarantees for online booking and if I wanted a guarantee I should call. But I was already charged! I shouldn't be treated like any less of a guest because I booked online. I was also told that the rooms cost the same amount because they are the same tier. I was also told they would not "kick other guest out of their room… " I never asked that. I only wanted a heads up or a phone call. We were really looking forward to our stay. I do not have any intentions to say at Comfort Inn West again.

Rooms are okay for the price paid, staff is friendly and helpful. A good value for the money. A decent location but not close to the regular tourist places.

Spent two nights there with my family over labor wkd. First time staying there. Clean & neat hotel room including the lobby. Everything in the room was up to date. Had no issue at all. Definitely live up to its name Comfort Inn. Free breakfast was a plus! Would recommended to anyone going to Duluth to stay. I was very impressed!

Location was great for mountain biking, but definitely outside the city. Took the bus downtown, but it doesn't run very often. The room was great, perfectly fine to sleep in. The only problem was that the shower was a bit short, so I had to bend down a bit to shampoo. Breakfast was acceptable, nothing more than what I'd expect for a budget hotel like this.

Great room and location. Quick check in and easy layout to follow. Only thing that would have made it better was a regular sized pillow. They were comfortable, but about the size of throw pillows. Wonderful staff and great breakfast options during our stay, along with restaurants nearby.

So far it is good. I just came from a hotel 10 minutes away. This place is so much nicer. The breakfast was decent. The shower had great pressure. The pillows were a combination of two soft and two firm. The rooms actually had an aroma Sandford not an odor. Too bad I'm leaving in the morning.

Best place to stay. Nice service and people. Good thing we found this place to spend the night. Great breakfast too.

Great hotel! The breakfast was good and always kept filled up, beds were comfortable and room was clean. Only con was our frig didn't seem to get that cold.

Advice: Book through the hotel directly because they will switch your king size bed room for a 2 full size bed room without telling you. We were pretty disappointed when we got to our room and saw 2 smaller beds, as we didn’t need 2 beds for just my boyfriend and I. We were more upset because the manager that checked us in didn’t warn us ahead of time. She also wasn’t sure if the reason we got a different room was because they were booked or if we made a reservation through a different site. If they were really booked they would’ve let us keep our 1 bed and had up to 4 people have the 2 beds. Didn’t make sense. Either way we booked this in advance so there really was no excuse, she shrugged her shoulders and had no resolution for the issue. It could also be because we’re young (21) and they don’t take our issues seriously. We love coming up to Duluth so we will return, but not to this hotel.

Nice, spacious rooms! We have 2, "2 Queen Suite" rooms and they are perfect! Super spacious (although not what I would normally consider a suite) and very nice. Good size fridge, comfortable beds, and lots of space! Definately will stay here again when we are in Duluth next time! :-D.

Been coming here since I was a kid always great service, great cleanliness, big rooms with a big comfy bed. Pool area is dope always they got a hot tub and a sauna. Pools not too deep but its warm. Breakfast is pretty lit too.

I was pleasantly surprised when we stayed at the Comfort Inn West Saturday night. Everything appears to have been recently updated/remodeled. They did a beautiful job. Their rates are very reasonable. The staff was extremely kind and helpful. I highly recommend staying there when you're in Duluth.

It was a good experience overall. The pool was nice. The rooms were clean. I had to stay for a robotics competition and they even had cookies out in the lobby for participants in the competition so I felt very welcome. Only complaint I have is that it doesn't have a gym.

Clean, nice hotel at a reasonable price. Great, friendly staff. Many breakfast choices with ample room to sit and eat.

Staff was very nice. Everything was clean and working. Large spacious rooms — ours had a kitchenette with fridge, microwave and sink and curved shower rod. Got a free pack and play for the little one to sleep in. Hot complimentary breakfast included make-your-own waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, cereal, yogurts, juices, coffees. Indoor pool, hot tub, and sauna from 8am to 10pm with adults-only pool hour from 10pm to 11pm. We had robes and complimentary snacks in our room.

Nice place to stay. It was $147 a night to stay over the weekend. The breakfast was filling and had a large assortment. The only thing I didn't like was the bed was junk.

Very pleasantly surprised by my stay here. It doesn't look like much on the outside, and it's in west Duluth which is not as desirable as the waterfront or downtown, but don't let that fool you — it's modern, well-appointed, and clean everywhere. Many amenities I didn't expect. Service was great. You will be pleasantly surprised.

It is a great little hotel! Does not have a gym but has a large pool and sauna. Overall, we are very satisfied with the location (it is right off of interstate and close to everything fun in Duluth), cleanliness and upkeep. Would definitely stay there again!

Recent 2 nights stay: Pros-The staff were helpful and pleasant. We were pleased with the hot breakfast. The common areas of the hotel were very clean. The pool area looked nice as well. Cons — The room smelled like a dirty ash tray. You could clearly tell it was once a smoking room. My other large complaint is in regards to where the employees smoke and talk on their cell phones. There is a small area with patio chairs that is right next to several rooms. We couldn't have our window open because the smoke would come right in. There is a designated smoking area not too far from there. It's trashy and doesn't leave the best impression.

The rooms and service from the hotel staff exceeded my expectations! Perfect location as a jump off point for exploring the North Shore. Delicious hot breakfast with plenty of variety. The sauna was also nice to have after a long day of exploring. It's not a very walkable neighborhood so will need a car if you want to go see any touristy stuff, but they have plenty of parking.

Great place to spend the night. Clean, attractive, modern. Better than other Comfort Inn I've stayed at. Excellent breakfast.

We enjoy our stay every time. My husband and I usually go up to Duluth every year on our anniversary. Most of the time the kids come with us! We love to arrive to a clean and comfortable hotel room. Our kids enjoy the pool while the hubs and I enjoy the hot tub. The breakfast is outstanding with plenty of options to choose from. Anything from toast, to eggs and waffles! The staff are approachable and friendly. This year the hotel surprised us with a bottle of pink bubbly. (No extra charge) My fave! My hubby and I enjoyed and it made our anniversary trip that much more special. I look forward to coming back. Comfort Inn West is like home away from home.

Clean room, comfy mattress, good breakfast, friendly staff! Hot tub and pool were pleasant, area around hot tub was a bit dirty. Sauna was on the cooler side and the temperature was fixed. It's not necessarily close to many restaurants or attractions, but the center of town is a short drive. Those are just small details though and overall this hotel was excellent!

The good — the Staff were helpful although we didn't have much need. The breakfast was pretty good every morning we were there. Hotel is location close to the interstate. We loved the pool area. Cons — I can't think of anything worth noting except that the price was kind of high on the weekend, even for Duluth in the summer. The beds weren't the most comfortable, but the room itself was great.

We were happy with everything. Our room was very clean and breakfast was everything we could have asked for. Only one small thing with the breakfast. I found a small piece of plastic in my scrambled eggs. I figured it was from the bag the eggs were stored in. Our experience was a positive one :)

There just aren't enough stars. This hotel is Duluth's best kept secret. The team is gracious, kind, and friendly and the property is clean and beautifully renovated. The spacious lobby and breakfast area are great places to relax. It feels so much like home. We also love the pool, sauna, and hot tub. It is our favorite place to stay in Duluth, MN.

I came here the first week of November and it wasn't very busy. Had the pool/hot tub/sauna all to myself almost the whole weekend. Very good breakfast buffet and overall great value for the price of our stay.

Might be my worst night in a hotel ever. My wife and I stayed the night of 11/19/16 The bed was as hard as the floor and there was kids running around tell 1am. The staff was nice and said they would try to tell them to stop. All I could suggest if you stay here is get a room on the second floor and ask for 2 or 3 pillow to add to your bed.

For the money, great hotel. It is older but the inside is completely updated and clean. The breakfast is also very good.

I didn't think the hotel would be anything special, but wow this was a clean hotel! My bed was insanely comfortable as well! Very happy with my stay.

The room is clean and well kept. Breakfast was really good as well — lots of good options. The pool area is very nice as well. Location is good too… right across from Oerkins and easy access to the expressway. The best part is the employees. Ever one has had a smile and been very helpful. Comfort Inn West will be our "go to" destination when are in Duluth from now on.

Room was nice. Sauna, pool, and hot tub were nice perks. Breakfast included. My only complaint is that the rate was far higher than previous stays at the same location.

Started off with attitude when I was checking in. I was in my work clothes still and was treated like I wasn't good enough for their hotel. But that was minor compared to what happened at check out. I don't believe people should be treated like that so when checking out I gave them a piece of my mind. I left feeling better. Later that day I find out they charged me an extra $162.00 on top of the 82.00 it cost for the room. I called and they said I smoked in the room! I was furious because I absolutely never smoke indoors, I can't stand the smell myself. They went as far as planting cigarette butts and taking pictures of them! This is A BUSINESS FOR #! &* SAKE. Please beware of this hotels staff! they are working together to screw you, if you don't take their sh*t. In the long run this is going to cost them much, much more.

Great place, great rate! Would definitely stay again! Easy on/off highway access. We stayed one night and everything in the rooms was clean, they use the Clean Remotes, which is nice. Bathroom has simple enough shampoo, conditioner, lotion and coffee was good. Shower head was a bit low as I'm 6'4 but great heat and pressure so who cares plus the bathroom actually had an exhaust fan on it's own switch! Never seem to see that anymore. Room A/C-Heater unit had a wall control and nice looking, not your typical under the window with rotary knobs that just blows up under the blinds and air goes nowhere, so that was a plus. Microwave and fridge in room, simple TV but lots of channels. Wi-Fi speed pretty good, pool was nice for my daughter, 3-5 feet and hot tub was good size. Lots of extra common spaces with couches and TV's to hang out in with friends, and cash bar had enough for a little night cap. 2 types of pillow each for 4 people — soft and firm, which was a nice touch so you can choose your comfort. Feels newer and maybe has been recently renovated. Breakfast was powdered and/or hard boiled eggs, yogurt cups, belgian waffle makers, bacon, cereals, and plenty of pastries, but we were full and ready for the day so it hit the spot! Great place!

Great experience here, very quiet even though right off of highway. Price was excellent too. Free breakfast as well which was quite good.

Horrible for accommodating people. I booked a room with intentions of using the conference room. When I went to book the conference room it was going to be under construction. I then wanted to cancel my room and find a place more accommodating to my needs and I could cancel the room but I would still be charged for the room. My reservation date is still 2 months away!
