We moved to this motel after a one night stay at a competitors big name motel,, which was dreadful. The 29 West room was clean, good size, quiet, and had great beds and pillows. Staff displayed a perfect balance of friendliness, respect, interest in delivering good service, and maintaining a quality motel. This is not a luxury 5 star resort, but for a small motel they delivered everything I could ask for, therefore our 5-Star rating. Would definitely stay here again.

About what you would expect for a motel in small city. It was clean and manager kind and thoughtful.

I had some fun but I had to eork the whole time.

6 nights at 29 West, had a large 3 bed room for 5 people, was kept very clean, staff understanding and very nice poeple, coffee in the office, Wi-Fi, cable TV and had no problems with our room.

Nice big room, 3 beds. A little dated, but very clean. Chincy on the ice, and towels. Otherwise great experience and comfortable stay. I would've loved to have a coffee maker in the room though.

Good people run that place. You get what you pay for.

The owners are very nice. We've stayed 2 times. First time we were pleased, the second time not so much. They raised the price on us, put us in room 124, king size bed The mattress was terrible! Totally wore out, both side sunk in bad. When I told the owner the next morning, he just shrugged his shoulders. I would stay again, mostly because there are ONLY 2 motels in Taylorville, and we go once a month. I would not stay in room 124 again!

This motel was a very pleasant surprise to be so very clean, well kept, updated and with such nice owners and operators. I stayed three nights, Oct 6-8, 2017. The bed was very comfortable and the writing area and Wi-Fi more than adequate for my needs. The room was complete with a refrigerator and a microwave. I have never had a better experience in any motel in smaller venues. I highly recommend this facility. Would give it 5 stars IF it had even a nice sit down continental or full breakfast.

Like a beautiful pebble on a beach of the same old uninteresting rocks, this hidden gem is a wonderful independent motel built in the hay day of transportation. It is reminiscent of those motels of the 50's, but has kept up with the times, unlike some other motels of it's era. Nick, the owner has been pleasing travelers for almost 30 years at this family owned and operated location. His caring for his guest's needs is his priority, and drives his passion to make them as comfortable as possible. Attention to detail and thinking outside the box can be seen in some of the ways he has updated this piece of Americana. Each bathroom has brand new floor tile and ergonomic toilets, along with a microwave and fridge in the room. He offers a variety of beds with different levels of comfort to help accommodate his guest's sleeping needs. For those with larger families or groups, he has larger rooms with multiple beds. This keeps people from being separated and saves on multiple rooms. In addition to all this, the rooms are clean! This might not sound like much, but in my stays in motels lately, and with what you see on the news about unclean motel rooms, bed bugs, etc. This place is a breath of fresh air (along with a pleasant fragrance). I would invite you to stay. It is a wonderful place and Nick and his family would love to have you. Just make sure to leave a room for me, the next time I am in town.

We stayed here overnight on our way to watch the solar eclipse. The room we had was quiant, comfortable and quiet. It also had several basic amenities: air conditioning, Samsung TV, microwave, refrigerator, king-size memory foam mattress, dresser, table and chairs. The owners had coffee ready for us the next morning. They are very sweet. This is a family, privately run motel. Our room was very clean and smoke-free.

Ok, but not great. Towels, sheets, bed, all seem a bit cheap.

I have been staying at the 29 Motel for several years and recommend a stay to anyone traveling through Taylorville. My family lives in Taylorville and I visit several times each year. The owners are friendly and helpful and have provided very good service over the years. The rooms have everything you need for a short or extended stay and are clean and well maintained. My sincere thanks to the management of the 29 Motel for providing the best motel experience in Taylorville.

Omg — first hotel I found who gave a choice of bed — hard bed or soft bed. When I checked in, a very friendly clerk asked me for the choice of bed. I was surprised. Our room was very clean had modern beds and furniture with not older but antique style bathroom hardware yet looks new and worked flawlessly. We enjoyed our stay. The best hotel in Taylorville, IL undoubtedly.

Place was a little run down but the rooms looked clean. Smelled a bit musty though. Couldn't come to an agreement on price so I didn't end up staying. Wouldn't be too bad if you had to stay but Springfield isn't too far and can find much better amenities for a similar price.

Owner very nice but bed pretty terrible. Very hard with plastic covering mattress. Crackling in every move. Made bed hot and certainly not very comfortable. Air conditioning must be on timer. Would only run for short time without turning itself off. Woke up several times throughout night being so warm. Price ok but no steal. Clean but dated. Tv was good.

Decent room, clean and quite. The owners were extremely friendly. I would stay again.

Do not allow pets even in a cage 10 pound dog they refused.

I've stayed here for 5days. every day cleaned check out service, no smoke smell bcuz I've stayed at non smoke room. rest room is cleaned, bed is cleaned every day. nice staffs working here. Wi-Fi works well. thank you. Later. I will visit here again.

Room smelled of smoke but was reasonably clean. Bed was hard and covered with plastic, oh the stories it could tell I am sure. Sink clogged despite opening and closing the drain repetedly, when I reported this at check out the guy tried to say that it was just not opened all the way. Carpet, tile, and furniture were rather worn. We will not be staying here again.

No frills here, but clean and comfortable, and there are a handful of decent restaurants close by. I'll stay here next time I'm in town.

Very Clean Rooms, Clean Beds and Bathrooms. The beds were very soft and comfortable and the refrigerator was large and worked well. The room included a microwave and a few dressers to put clothes in. The rate was very reasonable and the staff was very nice and accommodating. The hotel was well located and near springfield.

Stayed here for the first time a month ago, going back this weekend. You cant beat it for the money-$59 after tax for a Queen room. Close to many restaurants, quiet at night. I must note that the rooms are reminiscent of your Moms' finished basement, but they have little fridges and microwaves. :).
