Our family loves coming for the day, spending time in the pool and hot tub, playing pool, and having a game or two of chess with the giant chess board. Definitely a family oriented hotel! Oh and if you forget drinks and snacks they have a nice mini market right there!

There was life sized chess and I won no big deal :* :* definitely didn't lose badly no no no wrong way.

Room was beautiful and clean. Staff was pleasant and so very accommodating.

The room is nice and clean just like the pictures they show on the their website. The only thing I didn't care for; is the Wi-Fi it sucks. It goes in and out.

A huge pool and hot tub highlight this favorite hotel for me and my wife whenever we visit Galena, IL. If you step out the back of the hotel you can experience a taste of nature by fishing in a little pond. In the summer months we've seen deer, frogs and raccoons. This is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the big city. Yet you are still within a mile of civilization (Wal-Mart). The staff is friendly. Complimentary breakfast included.

Great place! Everything looks pretty clean! Good service, Wi-Fi, and decent size pool! Only thing was that I wish the shower heads were higher. I’m not even that tall and I’m having to duck.

Overall clean and friendly and accommodating staff. There was no microwave in our room and the group we were with many were complaining there room was to hot even when they put the a. C. On… mind you we visited when it was — 13 out so the a. C. On isn't normal in tempatures like that. My room was comfortable. The pool and hottub are both massive. Breakfast was nice they had continental as well as some hot items like eggs, bacon and sausage as well as waffles I would recommend it to someone in the future.

Not particularly special. Nothing really to complain about aside from them not having an elevator and putting us on the second floor with two small kids. I'll just have to ask for a first floor room next time.

Very nice hotel with comfortable beds and upscale finishes. The hotel is very clean and updated. It is also quiet with a good breakfast in the morning. Wow a room did not have breathtaking views it overlooks a pond and a nice Old Red Barn in the backyard. Very nice place to stay and would definitely stay again.

They have a awesome water exercise Aqua Zumba class offered to the public that starts at 4:15. It was a great workout for the cost!

Wonderful hotel. Clean and comfy. We enjoyed the pool and deck and even took our daughter out for an impromptu photo shoot on there beautiful property. Could not beat it for the price.

Had reservation for 2 rooms and requested in advance for adjoining rooms and was assured they were available. Upon check-in, our rooms were not adjoining and when inquired, we were informed that our reservation had been "adjusted" that morning due to a "maintenance issue" (plumbing) and that no other adjoining rooms were available. The room we personally ended up with had 2 queen beds and both were terribly squeaky with even the slightest movement. The included breakfast was well below the standard of what most hotels are offering these days.

Stayed overnight with family during the week. The pool is huge and it and the hot tub were mostly empty until the evening. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Beautiful deck and fishing lake. The rooms were nice and the beds very comfortable. The breakfast selection was pretty decent.

Nice clean hotel for the price. The free breakfast has lots of usual options like waffles, yogurt, eggs, fruit, etc. It would be nice if all rooms included a mini fridge rather than hoping you get lucky to get one. Fortunately, I had a fridge in my room, so I could have fruit, veggies & juice. Check the back yard. It's gorgeous! I would definitely stay here again.

The Ramada inn in Galena was very nice. The staff was helpful and pleasent. The rooms were brilliantly designed with a sink in the bathroom and an extra sink+vanity outside the bathroom for makeup. This extra feature made our stay very convenient. Breakfast was good typical hotel food, we didn't have time to check out the pool but it looked very nice.

Has the Bercas and is a quiet place you can relax very well.

Looks very nice outside and in lobby, but rooms are outdated and everything felt and smelled damp. Water damage? However, it was clean and the breakfast was very nice and relaxing. Really nice environment in the public areas, but room updating is in order!

The rooms were clean neat and adequately stocked. The hotel in general was nicely laid out and appointed. The complimentary free breakfast was wonderful what made it really great for the free waffles that you made fresh for yourself. The breakfast facility was well-stocked clean and kept well organised by the attendant who's on duty named Rachel.

Nothing special. The room was clean, although the bathroom smelled musty. The location is right on the highway and a bit noisy. The breakfast had no healthy options.

The complementary food was good. The rooms were clean. The staff was nice. I did attempt to take a swim in the pool though and the other guests found a snake… lol.

The pool was nice and big, not too deep for young kids but deep enough for swimmers. Room is olOK, lacking a fridge and our vent in the bathroom was very loud.

Room was nice. Hot breakfast wasn't so hot. Although it was free. Location was only 15 minutes from Cheasnut Mt.

Last year we stayed for our honeymoon. They charged us double. Then said we had to wait 7-10 business days for a refund. They tried to say our room is never that price in October. Good thing I kept my confirmation email! This year we made our reservation in June for a two night stay in October for our anniversary. We had to cancel and did so a month in advance. Based on their stipulations there would be no charge. WRONG! We were charged. Not what we agreed upon but MORE. Again, we were told we would have to wait 7-10 days for reimbursement. And again, good thing I kept all emails. We will not be ever booking at this RAMADA again! Far too many great places with honest service in Galena to have them ruin your experience!

Our third time here. Very modern and clean.

We stayed over the labor day weekend in 2013. Check-in was very prompt and the staff was friendly. We ended up staying here and calling a cab to get downtown (Gradpa's cab service {the only one in town} was very friendly and prompt — and for $10 there and $10 back it made the room more affordable than anything else around). The room was very clean, comfortable and well put together. The shower curtain would have been replaced if it was my house (but that is the only complaint I have). The breakfast was standard continental breakfast and the checkout was a little slow (no automatic checkout).

My daughters and I enjoyed ourselfs very much during our weekend stay. The accomidations were wonderful and the staff went out of there way to make us feel comfortable which made our trip much more enjoyable. I would recomend staying in your motel for as long as needed. We also took advantage of the spa, it was heavenly and the staff was incredible. Thank you sharon d.

Had our wedding there was overcharged and the hotel starts on fire once a year. Even the fire department told us were here for the same thing again. Be aware the place is in bankruptcy. How ironic the hotel starts on fire.

Very nice hotel. Spent some time in the pool and jacuzzi :-).

The beds are worn out, the water is saturated with iron to the point you can see and smell the rust pouring from every faucet, they will tell you that it's normal and to let it run for a minute and it will go away but neither one is true, the refrigerators and microwaves have all been removed from the rooms but you can 'conveniently' rent them for $5 each per day, the televisions barely work, the furniture is broken, if not, cheaply replaced. All this AFTER the VERY rude, early-in-his-twenties prick of a manager blatantly accused us of trying to present a phony veterans ID to get a discount. Avoid this hotel at ALL costs! Will NEVER stay again.

The hotel was in beautiful condition. The room was lovely — clean and comfortable. Bed was soft and comfortable — not hard or sagging like most hotel beds. The setting is beautiful. The one complaint I have is the breakfast — very small options, not filling at all. Plan on getting breakfast elsewhere. Overall a very nice stay.
