Did the front desk really wait until after check in to tell my family that the hotel has no internet, phone or cable service. Then to add insult to injury the staff is rude! Where is the customer service? Then to only offer a $20 credit on the total bill? Hot mess. This type of service is Not indicative of the Hilton brand. My family has a total of 5 rooms booked for the weekend not 1 but 5 and this is the type of service Hampton inn shows to its out of town guests? Deplorable. Never recommending them again! Posting this to all my personal and professional social media accounts so my friends and followers, know if they need a hotel on the far south side Hampton Inn Matteson should not be a choice. Retrain you front desk staff immediately. Guests should have been told about a known issue prior to check in.

I need a call back about recent poor customer service experience from a phone representative and a manager at the Matteson, Il location. I called in and spoke to a representative about making a reservation for a birthday sleepover for my son and a few of his friends. I reserved two rooms and the rep told me that everything was set and that I would have no issues. On the day of the party, to my surprise, I was told that I would have to sign a no party or sleepover contract AND that they did not have any of the rooms that I reserved and could not guarantee that I could get two rooms close together. The manager on duty explained to me that the representatives that book online reservations lie to customers all of the time. They lie to get the rooms booked. If the booking agent would have just told me up that parties are not allowed, I would have been ok with that and looked elsewhere. The manager on duty that day was also rude and showed no empathy for my situation as she held another conversation with another employee that walked up from behind the counter in the middle of my transaction. I had regain the attention of the manager because their conversation was so long. This treatment is unacceptable and I will share my experience with all family and friends. Thankfully a different hotel was able to help me with such short notice. I will also like to close out my rewards account.

Best Hamoton Inn ever. Our office uses Hampton Inns for travel so we stay in them often. I love them, but this is the best one ever.

Just all around a great stay. The workers here were all very polite and made you feel welcomed and were always smiling. The breakfast had great selection and was very well maintained during the stated breakfast hours. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel has amazing staff who are very friendly and very helpful. The place is always kept very clean, and needs are comfy. They have the best breakfast of any Hampton Inn I've ever been to. They have fresh pressed juice, and smoothies in addition to the usual options.

Experience was overall good. Room was very nice. Complementary breakfast is one of the best I've had.

HORRIBLE! My friends and I booked a two night stay at this hotel and from the minute we walked in it was an awful experience until the time we left. As soon as we entered we were told the rules. We had no intentions of having a party or whatever the front desk attendant thought. It was three of us. Me and my two female friends. We had food/snacks because we were staying more than one night and the attendant assumed we were having a party and told us we should just leave now but kept emphasizing that we weren’t going to get our money back. As time went on we were harrassed with several calls from the front desk about the rules when we had barely been there for 20 minutes. After the woman who was harassing us left we had an awesome time but because of the original disrespect and blatant disregard for our rights as humans and guest at the hotel that is why I’m writing this review. I do not recommend anyone stay here.

You get way more than what you pay for. First, I travel more than most for work and pleasure and mostly stay at Marriotts, it is a Hampton inn so I wasn't expecting much, boy was I surprised. Extremely clean thoughtfully designed rooms that leave little to be desired for the business traveler. Beds feel like the must have cost a fortune, great continental breakfast with many delicious/healthy options and most importantly, WONDERFUL and THOUGHTFUL staff. When staying here for 3 weeks my whole team (about 20 rooms each night (or about 240 room nights total) had wonderful experiences to share about ALL of the staff who never failed to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. It's really about the little things, and Hampton in Mattson does them all very well, from the warm cookies in the evening to the quick pack breakfasts for me team that had to leave before breakfast. We appreciate you more than you may ever know. Although this in not a "full service" hotel, we were never in need of much because of the wonderful staff. Me and my team are very grateful. I hope to use Hampton inn Matteson for all of my business travel in the area because it feels like a home away from home.

The hotel was excellent! I reserved a handicapped room and they texted me before the stay. The breakfast was varied from day to day and they offered healthy choices. I would recommend it.

Room was great — very nice. Bed was very comfortable for 2 of the 3 guests in the room, breakfast spread was very inclusive and interesting. Staff were friendly and inviting.

I stayed here this past weekend with my bestfriends bachelorette party. The hotel looked newly renovated, was very clean and quiet. Was very close to the Hollywood casino amphitheater. Breakfast and Wi-Fi is free, and out suite was huge! Will stay again.

This is my first EVER experiencing a Hampton Inn that did not rate 5 stars! As I am a Hilton Honors members, I've always expected… and experienced ONLY the best from the Hilton brand! This hotel in Matteson, IL did NOT measure up to my expectations at all! The Front Desk agent was the beginning problem … the room itself was the Other problem… Oh well, I guess 1 bad out of10 isn't too bad! I certainly will not consider staying at this hotel whenever I need a room in that area. Sorry.

Staff is very friendly. Breakfast was the best I've had at a Hampton inn, anywhere. Rooms are clean. I highly recommend this hotel if you're in the area.

It was a little hard to find, not visible from the road. However, check-in was fast, the rooms are pretty quiet with minimal noise from hallway/outside. Shower has decent water pressure. Room has a nice big Tv, which is great! Bed and pillows are average. Lots of nearby restaurants. Edit: I just took a star off because the pillows are awful All four are very squishy and sink to nothing as soon as you lay on it. In general, hotel hvac should have an option to run the fan continuously. Otherwise you have this situation, where the hvac is loud turning on and off all night. Every time it changes states it wakes me. I had to turn it off so hopefully it doesn't get cold.

I stayed here for a company trip, and wow the room I stayed in carpet smell like feet and underwear! Management please shampoo the carpets they really stink. I moved to two rooms and yes it’s the carpets. Also the bathrooms needs a thorough cleaning too.

Nice hotel. The pool for the kids is great. Reasonably priced. The only problem was that they work the front desk person too much. So that means sometimes you're standing at the front desk waiting for assistance and that person is off doing their other responsibilities.

Wendell was very helpful and answered all our questions and also gave us some suggestions.

I usually stay here when my work has me up here (our shop is in university park). Never had an issue until tonight when I got off work and come to my room only to find out that my tablet is missing. Told the front desk and all she did was write my number down and say she’ll talk to the house keeping manager. Safe to say because of this incident I will no longer be staying here and a police report will be filed.

Amazing Staff and spacious and well arranged room with modern amenities. Also king sized bed with nice pillows. Perfect for a night out with family.

I had stayed here the weekend of New Years Eve. The hotel offers convenient check in by providing your driver's license, and the staff were cordial. They did not go above and beyond in terms of hospitality, however. Upon entering the room (king sized bed), I was amazed at how clean it was. In the last few months, it was probably the cleanest hotel I have stayed in. The features such as the desk, chairs, bed, TV, and bathroom were updated and modest. I had gotten wonderful sleep in the spacious bed and loved it so much that I looked up the price of the comforter and pillow top for the bed! I honestly had a great stay. The only thing that I did not enjoy was the breakfast and lack of plowing in the parking lot. The eggs made were awful because they were not real eggs, and the food tasted over-processed without any nutrition. The only breakfast items that were worth my while were the oatmeal, fruit, waffle, and orange juice. Everything else just tasted brittle, flavorless, or generic. As far as the parking, it was a lot of slush in both lots and the parking lines were buried so people were double parked. This caused issues because people would have to park far out in sub zero temperatures when it could have been prevented. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay and would do it all over again. It is in a good area with a ton of restaurant options, and close to Orland Square Mall including all that Chicago has to offer.

Stay here twice a year. He employees are wonderful and rooms decent and clean. I'm happy to stay here.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay here very much! The room was spacious and comfortable, the bed was great, and the whole hotel was clean! The service was great as well!

This Hampton Inn was in a great location! There were many food and shopping options in the area. The staff was very friendly and was able to accommodate us quickly. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the free Wi-Fi was great. My daughter loves swimming in the indoor pool, I just wish it would have been heated as well as being indoor. The continental breakfast had many optuons: cereal, pastries, eggs, sausage, waffles, just to name a few. If I'm ever in Matteson, IL again, I would definitely consider staying there again.

The hotel hadr been recently renovated and looks very nice and clean. The free breakfast is a pretty good quality — normal stuff you'd expect eggs/omelets, pastries, oatmeal, cereal, waffles, sausage/bacon, etc. My room was fairly decent, I'm not a bit fan of the A/C units, but it work well so I can't complain. The bathroom and shower are nice. My biggest issue is that there was no closet in the room, only a chest of drawers, so there was nowhere to hang my nice clothes.

The newly renovated hotel was really nice! The rooms and the lobby all had an updated modern feel to it, which was very welcoming. Also the staff was friendly and helpful.

Serviceable hotel. Nothing fancy, but staff are generally always very friendly. Breakfast is generally better than standard Hamptons. Pro Tip: If you can finagle an upgrade, the Studio Suites are nice.

I've stayed here before. It's in a useful location. Near the interstate and in walking distance to ample shopping and restaurants. Great place for less than a hundred bucks a night. Free Wi-Fi too.

The open restrooms right off of the lobby or in poor condition, otherwise the rooms were really nice. The hotel was very accommodating to all of the gifts who stayed for the event. We will definitely return.

Clean, very modern, and with friendly staff. Centrally located near several restaurants stores and a mall. Less than 2 minutes to the highway. Would definitely stay again.

The rooms are decent. The standard fluffy queen bed, big shower, and basic cable are all there. The area is a little barren for anything used to being in a city although a few restaurants within walking distance provide easy eats. The breakfast is also better than most hotels at this price point. All in all, it is a decent stay if you have a reason to be in the area.

The general manager here was horrifically disrespectful to me when I stayed there… and she really didn't care that I was a PAYING guest at her establishment. I called customer service about the problem. I was told that someone would call me back. They never did. Before I stayed here I received an offer for an Honors American express credit card. I will definitely be declining that as well as all invitations to stay at any Hilton hotels. Don't stay here. Marriott Hotels knows how to treat their reward members.

I just went there to visit a family member who stayed at the hotel. The room was beautiful and spacey. Everything looks clean and the lobby was nice.

Very clean and spacious room. Good breakfast with little extras that made it that much better. Nice decor. Convenient to the interstate and lots of restaurants. Plan on staying here again the next time we come to the Chicago Car Show.

The stay was ok… Not exceptional. The young lady taking care of breakfast did a fantastic job.

I've never been treated so disrespectfully. Over my two week stay all I asked is that my room be cleaned once during the weekend, but the first Saturday I left the "relaxing" tab off my door so my room would be cleaned, the staff came into my room while I was out, got the relaxing tab, and put it on my door with a bag of towels INSTEAD OF CLEANING. This was disgruntling for me, but I decided to give one more chance during the weekend so the next day I hid the relaxing marker so they couldn't pretend I didn't want my room cleaned. But when I got back at the end of the day they STILL HADN'T CLEANED. When I talked to management about this they didn't even seem surprised. The next day housekeeping came in while I was there and it was really uncomfortable for me, but that's what it took to get some clean sheets. My advice: Don't stay here unless you hire your own housekeeper, cause the staff here will do anything but their own jobs.

Very friendly staff. Professional and clean environment. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Check in and out was swift and easy. This Hampton rocks and will be my place to stay when I want to escape from my husband and kids for a quiet weekend.
