Place's cheap, clean but smelly. Rooms smell too, even when they're clean. AV wonderful! The lady at front desk at third shift was good, she answered right everything I asked. Police was there twice the same day, though, once around noon and later at night. They mentioned about some robbery in the hotel. I was lucky I wasn't victim of that. Sooner or later I'll be back though.

Zero stars. First, the desk attendant was not available to check in. I waited a long time. She finally showed up and I asked her where she'd been; I was waiting more than ten minutes. She shrugged and said she was doing something. I asked to be shown a room since the building was pretty grungy. She had to show me 5 rooms before I found one that didn't stink. She meanwhile asked me where I was from (which I did not answer — she was going to see my ID anyway), and what I was doing there — business or pleasure — because most people there are locals who just come to get out of the house. WHAT? What kind of place is this? (I also did not answer that. I was not there for a chat. She was impertinent. ) Even though it was too late to cancel my reservation, I escaped: booked another hotel and left immediately without notifying her. I have stayed at a good Motel 6, but this is not one. In need of a renovation and poorly managed. Sometimes you really do get what you pay for.

Facilities show signs of wear and tear and should be addressed. The room was reasonably clean. AC is a window unit which was fairly loud. No breakfast. Considering the price paid, it was still a good value.

When I made my reservations I asked for Ground floor & Handicapped. At check in I was told no ground floor & Handicapped only had 1 double bed! How many Handicapped people travel alone? Elevator was a life saver! The room was marked NON Smoking, but it smelled strongly of cigarettes! The Temp control on the Air Conditioning did not work, it was either freezing cold or hot! Sunday morning I took my dogs out at 6:30 am. There was a huge spill in the elevator! I informed the lady at the Front Desk. When I came back in, after walking the dogs, something had been poured onto the spill, but no attempt to wipe it up! When I was leaving the hotel at 9:30 the mess was still in the elevator, I had to ask the people in Maintenance to please mop it up. I stay at a lot of Motel 6's, this was the most disappointing.

I had a good stay over the weekend and the facility was okay. But the experience was embittered towards the end when my Headset (Solo 2 Wired Headphones Beats — White colour) was stolen from my bag. I had checked out on Sunday (6th May) ; the Receptionist confirmed I could drop my bags with her in the reception because I was going out to Church and would return later in the day to wait for my return flight. I returned to the hotel and my bags had been moved to another room. When I opened my shuttle bag, my headset had been taken from it by someone. The receptionist then on duty said she had no knowledge of whoever moved my bag to the other room. It was so devastating to me as last bitter impression from the hotel/staffs.

Even with a change of management, this place has gotten worse than previously. I made a reservation via the Web for 3 days for $174. That in itself is pretty steep considering they were advertising $39 per night on the website. Also, what, no senior discount? OK, I'll get it at the desk, but the new manager, Keith Hampton, refused to give me a senior discount. Is that a new Motel 6 policy? I just went to California and back and EVERY place gave me a senior discount. Even with the reservation, they made me sit there and wait for 2 1/2 hours and then tried to make me take a more expensive room for $199. I don't know what their problem is, all the rooms are supposed to be one price. Do their policies differ that much from one motel to another or is it that the management here needs to be properly trained? Several other people came in and were taken care if immediately, got their rooms and got them for the $39 per night price that they refused to give me. Perhaps it's a racial thing. Everyone there is black and everyone that came in after me and was taken care of before me was black. If I had been black, would I have gotten a senior discount, paid only $39 per night and gone right into a room? This place has always had huge amounts of drug dealing and drug addicts and lots of getto people living there. I've also seen bedbugs crawling around the bed after housekeeping left. A couple of times I was there, they had rooms locked off for fumigation because of the bugs.

The guy who was working the front desk was awesome! Super welcoming and gave us a 5 star check in. The place was fine otherwise, we were comfortable and the room seemed clean. All in all pretty satisfied. Definitely give the big guy who was working the front desk a raise though. My girlfriend and I loved his enthusiasm.

For the price… impossible find something better! Well attended, Angels was of great help and very friendly.

The room was clean and very basic. No Kleenex or alarm clock. Wallpaper was coming off of the wall. I didn't expect perfection @$35 a night. I had a restful night. Remodeling and repairs were evident in the hallway, so maybe the rooms were next.

This hotel was okay for the price but there were a lot of problems. I stayed there for 4 nights and 2 of the nights my room had not been cleaned by 5pm when I got back to the hotel. Also, it does not appear that much maintence had been done (missing tiles in bathroom, half finished repairs). Staff was friendly and my room appeared clean. The location was good and the room was spacious for the price.

Superior customer service by 2 young professional staff members. Mr. Stephens Mr. Mearday went above and beyond answering questions and providing impeccable and friendly assistance at a time when it was much needed. I've stayed at numerous Motel 6's over the years and can say without question these 2 gentlemen we're head and shoulders above the rest with their professionalism and friendly help. On a scale of 1-10 they both deserve 10+. Thank you!

I just wanted to make sure that I am able to let you know that Robert Starke, Tarra S. & last but not least but not Ursula, each of them are above and beyond what we have come to the Accept as " customer service! Check in with Ursula was just so smooth and her sweet demeanour makes me want to be a customer here! As for your late night help, they truly seem to love their jobs here, but they are constantly smilingly and Making sure that anything you need is taken care of! No matter how late it is, these two are a Perfect fit together for a shift where I have only seen people who are not interested in taking care of customers needs. What a truly wonderful surprise to meet 3 hard working and super awesome personalities all around with these 3! They all deserve a pat on the back and a great review! I never take the time to do this but truly I truly appreciate the way they made us feel at home! Thanks again for the opportunity to be able to have such a great time and I wish that it was like this every time we go through this process. Thanks again, ~Marvene Nolan~

I had to stay here for an extended period of time, about 2 months. The manager there Keith, what a gentleman and a very friendly person. My wife and I would stop at the front desk every chance we could to talk to him in the front desk employees who were equally awesome. They had great Extended Stay prices, and the location was near many restaurants and stores within walking distance even. I would go back there just for a mini staycation just to visit them again! Highly recommended!

Angeles is a very nice lady that work at the front desk and is very helpful. Keith and Althea are great manger… Tarran is the night guy and he is very helpful and know how to do the job.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Had 6 very comfortable pillows to my king sized bed. Staff was very nice. We had a recliner in the room along with table and another chair. The TV was a flat screen with lots of channels. Nothing smelled. We were on the 3rd floor. It was really quiet.

Its ok for the price but don't expect anything impressive. The beds are firm but fairly comfortable pillows are very soft and there's always plenty in the rooms. I suggest the spa room it's better than the other rooms and very relaxing in that spa tub though it doesn't have stairs to the tub very difficult to get in an out of.

This is a very nice, calm and clean place, the people who work here are very kind, good service and delicious morning coffee, the location is very close to everything you need, taxi from/to airport doesn’t cost much. After all, I can say it’s the best place to stay when you’re new to Chicago even though it’s far from downtown.

They put me in a smoking room despite the fact that I had made reservations and paid for a non smoking room. So I didn't really get much sleep cos of the stench in the room. Other than that it's a very basic no frills motel. So don't expect anything, and you won't be disappointed!

Friendly staff, comfortable rooms.

The room was fine, clean, somethings were a little worn, but it was clean, bed was good, sleep well. People need to understand, it's a Motel 6 not a five star hotel, It is very affordable, I saved half compared to another hotel up the street. I knew what to expect. The staff was friendly and helpful. Yes I will be back next time I am at the conference.

1-Non-smoking rooms smell of cigar 2-never fill the container with drinking water in the coffee area 3-finished the Splenda and it was never replenished in 10 nights I was 4-clean the room every 2 days 5-The black tea is over and not replenished in 8 Days.

Things were clean and the room/bed was comfortable. But, the sink did not have a plug and there was no Kleenex. Also, enjoyed my coffee, but kind of missed my usual light breakfast/rolls.

It's exactly what you expect from a motel six. Inexpensive rooms. Clean and comfortable. No frills. Hot water, cold a/c, friendly staff, clean towels. Adequate and well lit parking. Pizza place and breakfast place close by. It is a pet friendly hotel so there were a few moments of barking… But it didn't last.

I was disappointed to be assigned to 3rd floor (I usually express a 1st floor preference when I make my reservation, but whether I had done so or had forgotten, that's what was available. ) And then to learn that 3rd floor is the smoking floor! Though my room was not a smoking room, Ursela warned me that I "might be able to smell smoke in the hall. " Indeed I could. I even could in my room a little. I was pretty surprised you still have smoking rooms! I can't even remember the last time before this stay that I was in a motel where smoking was allowed. That is not only filthy and smelly for your non-smoking guests, but dangerous, and I hope it's a policy you will soon reconsider.

Would never use your motel again. The room was disgusting. The bath tub had mold. They put the used soap back in the package and placed it on the wash cloth. The mattress was horrible. The room had not been vacuumed. The first room they gave me was supposed to be a non smoking room. I stepped out of the elevator and it was a huge cloud of cigarette smoke. The key wouldn't work. Went back down to get it straightened out and the clerk said you have a "non smoking room". Really? She gave me a different room. I would have rather slept in my car. Totally disgusting. The mattress needed to be changed about 8 years ago. I'm sure you wouldn't have been happy to try and sleep in this bed. Never again. I would like my money back to be perfectly honest. I have pictures of the mold in the tub and the repackaged soap. I will be happy to send them to you. I would NEVER recommend this motel to anyone. If I could give it zero stars I would.

I staid here a few nights and I love the cheap rates but almost every room I get assigned too always smells like dog urine. I had to change my room twice. Please beware at night there are a lot of drug dealers and strange crazy teens and young adults who hang outside and look for trouble. Motel 6 has very poor quality and low maintenance. They allow dogs but people never clean up behind them and there is carpet everywhere and it smells like a zoo. It's very uncomfortable and unclean most of the time. These two days are my only days I'm ever staying here again.

Great accommodations. I was offered a Queen or King bed. Room was clean with all available amenities. Staff is courteous and kind. Keith is a great staff member. He even offered me free coffee and tea!

The bed was very comfortable. The staff were pleasant and accommodating. That's the good stuff dealt with. No tea/coffee making facilities in room. For a no smoking room the odour of stale tobacco was overwhelming. The hotel has a look of tiredness. On check in, I saw that food had been spilt on the stairs, it was still there when I checked out. Maid failed to make bed.

Good service, economical… missing Remodel.

The staff at the motel were all very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and accommodating for the price. We felt safe staying here as well. The only downer was that the room was humid unless the AC was turned way down to make it freezing, and the carpet always felt damp (but no bad smell). Otherwise, it was a great deal and we would recommend it!

Personnel working at this motel were courteous, polite, friendly and helpful. We had an issue with the toilet and within five minutes of calling the maintenance man was there and fixed it. I realize this is a Motel 6 and there are no amenities as a rule, but even a one cup coffee pot in the room would be great. I find those customers who show up in the coffee area in their pajamas a bit much.

HORRIBLE! It says free breakfast but they only offer watered down coffee and tea in the morning. The room we stayed in says no smoking but it reeks of smoke in the room. Could not stay another night!

Pleasant staff helped to make my overnight enjoyably stress free.

One of the worst hotels we have ever stayed at, we were there almost 2 weeks unfortunately… When I made the reservation I rqsted a fridge, as it says to do, so when we get in the room of course there was no fridge & we were expecting to have a fridge, we had milk, creamer and other things that needed a fridge, and it was a Sunday when we checked in so of course there was no maintenance to get me the fridge, so I had to use a garbage can & fill it with ice to keep this stuff from going bad. The thing that made us mad the most, I must have went to that front desk a million times to get my card to the door reset, kept getting locked out of our room! They are very aware of the problem & instead of getting it fixed, they let the customer get annoyed & have to go out of there way to continue to go to the front desk. There Wi-Fi is filtered so on my husband's down time from work he could not play his xbox, which he was not very happy about! They have another door besides the lobby, but they do not want you to enter in that door, there is a place to put ur hotel card to get in but it was broke, we had our dog which is not people/dog friendly… we had to take her in & out that door to avoid any issues & we had to put a rock in the door so we wouldn't get locked out, had to constantly watch the door to make sure no one would remove the rock.

You exactly what you pay for. A real deal and good place to go if your traveling and saving.

Several people outside the window talking loudly until after 4 am, plus the Wi-Fi is broken. Bathroom totally disgusting.

I stayed there for almost a month and loved it the staff are very nice and respectful the most respectful staff there are nacey and Dan always made sure I had everything I needed very helpful I would definitely stay there again.

BED BUGS! Horrible customer service and the staff are very unprofessional! The place smelled like old cigarettes as soon as you walk in. The staff seemed more concerned about cigarette breaks and their phones … rather than actually helping.

Most discusting place I have ever indurd. Poor customer service skills and the room are filthy.

Been trying for a week to book a room and their phones are always "experiencing technical difficulties " they must be out of business.

Rooms are disgusting! Hairs on the bed and bathroom floor, entire hallway reaks of cigarette smoke, a/c didn't work, television remote was broke, telephone didn't work, stains all over the box spring, toilet didn't flush, cigarette burns in blanket. We asked for our money back about 30 minutes after we checked in. The manager refused to refund us. Then she wouldn't give us the key back! So we paid over $66 to sit in a disgusting room for 30 minutes.

Staff not helpful when booking registration problems arise. I ended up re-booking the room to add an additional bed for an additional $200.00 at the weekend price. The wording used in regards to full, queen or king bed selection was very mislead for this motel. When confronted the front staff she admitted but did nothing about it. I was given the option to take it or leave it. Since I was not from the area, I had no choice but take it and be done with is. I would not recommend it at all.
