I stayed over the weekend August 25th and 26th at the Super 8 Hotel in Gurnee, Illinois. The hotel is clean. The bedrooms were nice and clean with all the amenities. While there, everything working correctly as it should for me and my family. We don't play. I'm looking forward to going back and I'll definitely stay in that hotel. I was looking for a place that would be close to Six Flags Great America and this hotel is right up the street around the corner from Six Flags Great America, and it was also conveniently located near ice cream places and McDonald's & Burger King. It's right there on the Strip. Everything was just perfect. It was also surrounded by other hotel, but I got the best rate at Super 8 by Wyndham in Gurnee, Illinois. I'll give it a five-star. Also the staff was very very pleasant easy to deal with again at Super 8 Wyndham in Gurnee.

I stay at a lot of hotels I would definitely have to say that not only is this Super 8 very clean, professional and very courteous as well. They definitely go out of their way to make sure that their clients are 100% satisfied. Overall I am 100% satisfied and give them 5 Stars across the board. This hotel has a beautiful location right across the street from Six Flags of America and down the street from a very big mall very convenient location.

Second time to stay at this hotel. Very close to six flags. Clean comfortable rooms. Nice staff. Decent prices. After a long day at six flags it's great to travel a whole three minutes to the hotel.

I stayed 2 nights for a work event. The room was nice and clean. The bed was very comfortable, I felt rested the next day.

Room was in pretty rough shape and smelled like smoke even though it was a non smoking room. Price was decent and the location is nice especially for Six Flags trips. But I'd recommend finding something a little nicer.

Excellent place right down the street from six flags and a HUGE variety of places to eat within walking distance or short drive. Love this place affordable and clean.

Affordable, room was clean, great place to save money and lie low between days at great america. Breakfast wasnt bad either just wish it had the traditional waffle maker you usually find at Super 8.

We enjoyed our stay. These gentlemen were very accommodating, the rooms were clean and well stocked. Our maid was probably the kindest one we have ever had. We come by Chicago frequently, and we will definitely be staying here every time we come back.

Hotel room was large, furniture a little dated, comfy bed, reading chair, small desk & table with wooden chairs, microwave, microfridge, smaller flat screen TV w/ cable pkg, good water pressure in the shower a thermostat control heat/ac unit. Parking is little tight and breakfast is minimal, toaster waffles, honey buns etc…, one ice machine on lower level (elevator accessible). Overall a descent stay.

Everything was busted or missing but was comfortable and had a good night sleep. Too many kids in the pool never got to get in. TV was just basic package with extended Sports. I say blah to that. No movie channels, no porn.

The staff was rude when we came to stay for the night. I was told I had to put $100 down as a deposit since I was paying cash really wasn't told that when booking. I explained to the manager said amount was for my stay and that was all I had. He said I looked trustworthy and waited the fee. I wasn't really pleased with my stay would have rather stayed at the drury overnight in Springfield IL but didn't have the money so we got stuck there at the super 8. Wont be staying here again.

The room was clean and everything was in good shape. They have an elevator and a pool. The continental breakfast consisted of yogurt, cereal, frozen waffles, bread for toasting, coffee, orange and apple juice, and little honey buns. Friendly staff.

3/7/18 Pool was out of order. One of the main reasons we booked here. I did not want to cancel and find an other hotel at 6pm with 3 kids. Room was spacious, there was an empty slushy cup left in the fridge. Do not depend on the mini fridge for perishables. Sign on fridge even warns it will only keep items cold don't store PERISHABLE items. And yes the fridge sucks. Did not keep my groceries cold. Free breakfast is a JOKE.

The hotel in general is clean and the staff is friendly. The pool does NOT work at this time and staff keeps giving VERY conflicting stories as to when it will reopen. The housekeeping staff is good at replacing dirty linens or towels with clean ones, and also coming daily to clean, tidy or vacuum. The free breakfast includes cereal, apples, choice of white/wheat bread or eggo waffels to make toast, generic honey buns, name brand yogurt, oatmeal and choices of orange juice, milk, coffee, or hot chocolate. Overall if the price is right and your family or you aren't looking forward to using the pool, this is an overall clean and comfortable place to stay.

Ok, TV didn't work in my room but I didn't feel like moving rooms so I settled. Room was spacious and comfortable. Beaumont next door is better and not much more.

Great place to stay when your son is Graduating Navy Boot Camp. Lots of places to eat nearby. Clean and spacious suites at an affordable price!

Quiet. Good housekeeping. Nice continental breakfast. DON'T keep enough change at front desk though.

I stayed with my family for a week free with my wyndham rewards. The room was beautiful and clean. My family enjoyed the pool. The front desk staff and housekeeping were great! The most comfortable bed ever in a hotel.

My husband and I stayed in a jacuzzi suite. The tub was huge and I enjoyed it a lot after a chilly day at six flags, but the room wasn't great otherwise. Old furniture, lumpy carpet, flat pillows, etc. I did really appreciate having a mini fridge and microwave though! The staff was friendly too. Good experience overall for the low price.

I think this is the best kept secret in Lake county. This hotel is next to the mall, next to the amusement park and access to all the highways. There is room service EVERY DAY, not when you ask for it. Plus there is free breakfast everyday. I will be mentioning this motel to anyone who asks it is a great deal, a great value and the rooms are enormous. You have great speedy Internet service w/o problems and a huge list of programs to watch on the television. How I got here this time was pure luck but from now on I won't come here unless I can stay here. This is the best deal in lake county. Take advantage of it. I give this place a 5 star rating out of a possible 5 star total.

The best hotel to stay at that's close to Six Flags. Rooms were clean, taken care of, and overall the best place to stay.

Our car battery was dying so as far as we made it was to this hotel because we were in Six Flags which is across the street, car wasn’t moving at all so we spoke to the receptionist if we could leave our car there but she said there’s was no way unless we rented a room, but our plan was to leave the truck there and pick it up as soon as 7-9am because it was already 2am and I had my two kids with me a 3month old and a 4 year old, we spoke to the Manager and he said the same thing that we can’t stay there because we weren’t paying for a room, I just can’t believe that didn’t let us park our truck there for about 5-6hrs. Manager and receptionist need to be more polite and understand people’s problems.

This hotel was perfect. The pool was great, the rooms were clean, the staff was friendly, AND it was close to everything we needed. 10/10 definitely would stay again.

Great price and value. Lobby is not fancy but good customer service and very clean and big rooms. Comfy.

Ok for the money but a bit of hassle to pay cash. Bed needs new one. Mattress top over a thin mattress on a platform box. Seen better in motels. Room was ok for clean.

Needed a room to stay in overnight. It was a room. Nothing special. The breakfast felt like I was going through a frugal parent's freezer, but it was food. No hottub and the entrance was difficult to find, it wasn't well marked.

This is the 3rd time of me staying at this hotel. Our room was a little disappointing this time. I am hoping that it is a fluke since the last 2 times were so good. It was pretty clean which is definitely the most important factor for me. The remote batteries were dying so went to call the desk but the phone didn't work. I soon found it wasn't even plugged in because the plug was broken. There were also several hooks on the walls for pictures but no pictures. The alarm clock wasn't set up and not on the bedside table. Again, I have had such good luck with this hotel in the past I am hoping that it is a fluke.

Called last week made my reservation For two nights arrived June 24-26 He had me sign my paper I didn't even look because I thought it was just a sign in paper So we leave for six flags June 25 and several hrs later I received a phone saying when you are getting your things? I'm like what? He said you have to ck out now! I said we reserved for Two nights he said we didn't and I signed the paper and we needed to come get our stuff We paid 25. To park at six flags and had to leave to go clean our room, then the clerk (not the owner who phoned) proceeded To offer us a more pricy room! It took and hr and half out of our six flags day and another parking fee to deal with his mistake! He can't speak English obviously when I made the reservation he even quoted me the price on the phone for my two days! Scammer! Watch it at this place! Never staying here again All this after we told the front desk lady we saw a live roach on the breakfast buffet, Before leaving for six flags this morning! Timing kind of shady!

Needed a room at the last moment for a might and received 1 at a discount. The room was clean and comfortable.

Nice place. It's a great over night area. People go for the real classy types of hotels, but super 8 is classy enough for someone to say, hey let's see what they give. These guys give room service without being asked.

Friendly staff, clean, quiet room. Close to everything in Gurnee.

I looked on the website and it said 18 to rent a room. Went to check in and they told me 21. Luckily I found something a 19 year old can rent. Either the website needs updated or the knowledge of the clerks need updated.

The location and service were excellent and the entire place was very clean. My only gripe was that the elevator would not always work, but it was easy enough to take the stairs.

I loved it. I've stayed at many hotels before but never like this. The price was cheep, and the whole rooms were better than described. I've stayed at many super 8s but never in Illinois, I was well pleased. The service was extraordinary really.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you just looking for something cheap and dont care about quality then this is the place to go. The beds are not comfortable they have these little thin covers on the bed. Me and my boyfriend was sleep and the house keeper was coming in and she woke us up supposedly she didn't know that the room was occupied. I will never go back there.

Super 8 hotel served its purpose. Had a great stay, and staff was friendly and helpful. Pricing was cheap and if I'm not mistaken, hotel was completely smoke free.

Signage still says the Grand hotel, but has Wyndham soaps and reservation system. Room is clean and spacious. Food is close by. For price point it is hard to complain.
